Hi.
Look what you have to do:
1. First install an antivirus and scan all phone. Delete what antivirus find.Your phone is better to be rooted.
2. After scan look on XDA forum for adaway. For this tool your phone must be rooted, not optional.
3. Install this app, open and install host files. Reboot the phone to activate.
4. Tell me if this dont work.

Hey, I have a very queer problem with my O1, recently, whenever I do anything - turn on data connection, touch a check box or something, even when I shoot a bird in Angry Birds - I get a message saying Updating Media files. It doesn't do anything AFAIK, but it's VERY irritating. I think this happened when I put the Scan Media toggle in Extended Widgets and used it - the light under the toggle is now permanently turned on. Any idea how I can fix this? I'm running void ROM.
uninstall the app.....
but its data will be in your sd card so for getting rid of dis use root explorer and go to Data/Data/Scan Media and delete the whole folder...
Note delete it after u have uninstalled ur app....
Hope dis helps u..!!

Hey guys, over the past week and a bit I've been getting these advertising notifications in my notification area.
So far they have been trying to get me to download some games, and im assuming that the notifications are being cause by a game/app i have installed.
It can be pretty tricky to keep track of all the updates i do, and i dont always read the change logs for stuff like this.
So i was hoping that someone would recognise these notifications, and hopefully tell me what game/app they are caused by - so i can uninstall it.
Screen shots attached.
Thanks a lot for any help.
down load air push app from market.
it will tell you what app is causing the notification, then delete it
You can install "Addons Detector" or "AirPush Detector" from the market, they will tell you which application have those notification.
[EDIT: I was writing when thorur published the answer. No intention to steal a good answer ]
These notifications are usually caused by dodgy wallpaper apps or games.
You can download Addons Detector (Market Link) or AirPush Detector (Market Link) to find the source app.
great! thanks a lot for the tips guys, ill check out those apps and try to monitor what is causing the notifications.
Ill let you know how i go.
thanks again.
This happened to me once. It was from an app I downloaded from the Market. I found out it was pushing ads to my notification bar by reading the reviews later on. I removed the app but the notifications kept coming.
I was lucky that I was just about to flash another ROM at the time so doing a full wipe helped solve the problem I guess.
ddoublee,
that's not very encouraging. I uninstalled the app i though was responsible - Sketch Me Pro - But i am stilling getting the advertisements.
So now i need to try to figure out if it is another app causing them - or something else.
probably more trouble than its worth.
cheers.
-------EDIT-----
I have just noticed that all the ads are for games from the same developer - and i have one of these games installed.
RAIDEN-Sky Force Ace is the game i have installed. Hopefully removing it will remove the ads.
Note - the addons (as detected by Addons Detector) for this game are Fortumo and PayPal - listed as developer tools.
So i removed the game, and a lingering notification disapeared immediately.
thanks for your help guys.
Can anyone identify permissions the app would required for sending notifications to the notification bar like this? something to look out for in the future.
cheers.
i would use a custom rom that supports pdroid to get rid of this notifications without deleting games. Also use Droidwall to prevent some games or apps to get access to internet!
Is your phone rooted?
Do you have ClockWorkMod?
A quick solution would be to back up all your contacts and apps and clear the cache/factory reset through ClockWorkMod restore everything and see if you still get the ads pushed.

bro, aku rase tak related.. tue airpush tue..
Hello guys,
Well i was surfing the other day on my Phone and at once i had a message that my S3 was having a virus etc,
Of course i knew it was just a phishing thing, but i guess it probably found a way into my phone,
As i get every now and then, most likely 2 times a day 6-8 ads at once on my notification bar,
They just get the title like this:
Contra 2015!
Market://details?id=com.dongphong.contra
But that for like 6-8 other ads aswell,
I deleted my cache, used a few anti viruses but nothing realy worked so far.
I hope you guys have a answer due i aint sure anymore..
Super wipe, format storage and external sd then flash. Stay away from warez and porn.

Hey,
Well do i realy need to do a format of my whole phone?
I have like.. 100+ apps.. wouldnt like to download those all again.
Also these ads come with the symbol of a message, but then with 8 ads, with that same symbal like you would have had a message pop up in your notification bar,
That happens every so often, my best guess is random after 2-5 hours
Thanks for offering the help tho
Sounds like some rogue app with push adverts.
Next time you get such a notification, long press on the notification and choose App Info. That will tell you which app is responsible for the ads.
And don't forget to leave a low rating in Playstore to warn others.

Hey,
Just did that, and it was a app game for gold mining lol... you know that ancient game.
Kinda silly of me, i tryed every anti virus but just had to go to app info, damn damn.. when you need it the most you forget it..
Even tho no antivirus nor push detector could find it..
Very glad i didnt wipe everything for that one app!
those ads are not cz of some malwares or something like that. those ads are the ads from the google adsense. the app developer used adsense for some earnings. so you cant get rid of it unless you use a paid version of the app.

Guys i want your help in apk modding.I seriously don't know anything about this.
There is an app which is saying me to update it and shows a button that redirects me to playstore.
I just somehow want to remove that thing and use the app normally as i usually did before..

You can do Factory Reset : (this wiil wipe your data ) so make sure you first remove you Google and other accounts before doing this , or you can use
CM Security app to clean viruses .

It may not be a virus but it is a likely result of adware that was installed as part of an app you installed.
You could probably find out what installed it by using a good security scanner. If that doesn't do the trick, reset the phone back to Factory settings. Make sure you back up your data.
