If you have the HD and not the HDX model this the wrong (sub-)forum.

Hi friends:
I read that the new OS Fire OS 3.0 (Mojito) is based on Android 4.2.x. I think one of the very important feature that was added in Android 4.3 was the fstrim (TRIM) support that regularly schedules the syncing of unused blocks to the storage controller. We already observed that Android devices kept being slower and slower with due time and the missing TRIM support was one of the primary reason.
So I wanted to know did Amazon back ported the complete TRIM support to their Fire OS 3.0, otherwise all the shining and speed that we'll enjoy in the initial days will loose with time.
I know this would be difficult to know at this time when HDX has not been released yet but I heard that Fire OS 3.0 has already been released for older Kindle HD models.
I'd really want to know this.
Thanks.
I'd love for someone to confirm this as well. It's the only thing stopping me from buying this. You can't touch a tablet with these same hardware specs for this low of a price!
When custom ROMs come out, you will be able to use this. Please do not quote me on this, but I am almost positive.

Hi Everyone,
I've been trying to figure out if this is possible or not but I called amazon and had them rollback the software on my kindle fire hd 3rd generation to 11.3.2.6 is it possible to root now?
Wrong forum, look elsewhere for HD support. This forum is for HDX models.
My mother has a Kindle Fire HD (3rd Generation) 7inch I believe? Running Fire OS 4.5.5.
I was wondering if Android can be put on this type of Kindle because the Fire OS is so bland and boring with nothing more really than the amazon and kindle store.
If it is possible I would need something that is the most stable. It doesn't have to be the most updated version of Lolipop with all the frills. Just basic or flashy enough that it runs smoothly with the least amount of problems.

And then use the search.

Hi,
I have an issue with a Kindle Fire HD7 (2nd Generation). Basically, the appstore version installed is wrong and it gives me a Error code: 500 stating 'Appstore was unable to complete your last request'
This Kindle is new to me as I like to buy and sell them for a bit of spare cash, but I do have another Kindle Fire HD7 (2nd Gen) with a working appstore (Version 6.2401.2205836.0_880576510)
I cannot for the life of me find this version anywhere. My question is, can I somehow extract this app from the working Kindle, or does anyone have any idea how I would be able to get hold of this version?
Thanks in advance,
Dan.
i received my dads old kindle fire, am i right in thinking i can turn it to android? would be alot better
