can't do anything with the recovery - HTC Droid DNA

My sisters DNA is running a sense rom of some sort. She wants to go back to completely stock BUT can't flash stock rom because twrp won't mount cache, dalvic, or data to be able to wipe anything. says unable to mount... Forrmat data doesn't work. nothing. I think mounting system and wiping it works but when you reboot the phone the system is still there. I tried flashing the rom on top but it gets few seconds in and it reboots the phone. Can't RUU because when program says waiting for bootloader, it tries to boot into bootloader but actually reboots the phone. Then RUU says connection failed. Adbing or fastbooting into bootloader or recovery just reboots the phone. Can't flash new recovery neither. It says flashing the recovery was successful but recovery or version of it doesn't change. Also for some reason Twrp is a bit laggy.
I'm running out of ideas here. The current rom she's running is lagging and causes issues after months of using it. How can I get back to stock?

Can anyone help please?

If its rebooting the phone and not into bootloader, the first things to check are: Make sure you're using the HTC cable, try a different usb port, and make sure you have all the correct drivers installed. Easiest way is to install htc sync, and then uninstall, It will leave the drivers behind and remove the sync software.

[Q] Help with bricked Evo 3D

I think I bricked my Evo 3D. I was installing a this ROM with this recovery (but I didn't wipe/factory reset anything, just went to the recovery and flashed the .zip) and I am bricked at the Sprint screen after booting. I have a Nandroid backup, but when I flash it, I still can't boot up. Any ideas?

You are not bricked. If you were bricked your phone would be a useless unbooting paper weight. Reboot back into recovery and wipe system, cache, dalvik cache and data. After the wipes try restoring your nandroid backup. If you really want that ROM you need to follow the instructions on proper flashing the boot.img with fastboot because I'm assuming you have HBOOT 1.5

I assume your problem is related to the kernel/kernel modules you have. You need to follow instructions on how to flash a kernel with hboot 1.5.
connect your phone to the computer, open device manager, if you see MTS Device with a warning yellow triangle on it(i think its MTS but it could be MDS or something, i don't remember now), right click on it, select disable. On the same dialog , if there an android device with the same triangle, disable that as well. Turn the phone off, try pulling the battery out(both volume keys and power button may not work, as it will just restart the phone) Now put the battery back, don't start the phone, connect it to your computer, run adb reboot bootloader command. If the phone goes to bootloader mode, issue fastboot command mentioned on the guide page to load your recovery. And reflash. You might have to restart your computer as well. As the problem is windows is not loading android drivers properly.
Another solution could be to load android drivers from device manager it self by right clicking android phone and update the driver.
I guess the issue is some new media drivers or something like that are needed with ICS .

I'm not having any problems connecting it to my PC and getting it into recovery, its just any ROM/Kernel/Nandroid I flash all leads me to the endless Sprint logo
Fixed it by wiping EVERYTHING multiple times, then restoring my Nandroid backup. Still having problems flashing a ROM, I put it on the SD, manually booted to recovery w/o computer, wiped everything, then flashed the ROM but won't boot past the Sprint/Android screen. Any ideas?

You need to listen to Freeza.
Lol that would be called a bootloop not bricked .

Your phone is not bricked. When the phone is stuck on the droid eye, hold the power button and the volume down key at the same time until it reboots. This will get you into bootloader mode. Press the volume down key to highlight recovery and press the power button to enter it. Once you're in recovery go ahead and restore a backup or reflash something new. Either way make sure to do a full wipe.

thats what i did i restored my backup and this is what happens. and i cannot push any files over to the phone because usb debugging is not enabled so there is no communication between the phone and computer at all
boot into recovery then use "adb push <path to rom> /mnt/sdcard/" to put a rom on the sd then install. Make sure you use a boot.img that came with the rom if it has one as it may cause problems if you don't.
Edit: you will need another rom for this and I would recommend reflashing a boot.img

USB debugging has nothing to do with ADB in recovery, recovery basically has its own kernel and ADB is always enabled. Are you saying ADB doesn't work in recovery? If so, it is probably a driver problem with your computer. Also, some phones randomly get corrupt /data/ partitions (mine used to get them until I started using DSB's stock kernel with system write) and the only way to fix it is to do a factory reset or restore a backup. This might be what happened to you. If so just do a factory restore and see if it will boot.
Perhaps reflashing recovery? Worth a try if ur still having problems, also try installing then uninstalling htcs sync app.

Try restoring back to stock with the Droid DNA RUU, i had issues with it locking up and freezing and i couldnt do a thing with it. i stumbled on the RUU and followed the instructions and re-stocked it. then just root and flash again. worked for me and im now running the Battery Plus ROM and have no issues yet. good luck
Just be sure to re lock before you flash the ruu

[Q] Flashed Boot.img without rom/gapps, stuck in bootloop, can't access adb

I was trying to flash CM and made the stupid mistake of only flashing the boot.img and now my dna repeatedly restarts and won't get past the droid light thing. The rom files and gapps are not on my sd card. I can't get a connection to adb and my computer doesn't see the device. ADB will recognize the device at one part during the bootloop but says "offline" right next to it. I'm s-off (moonshine), rooted, and have CWM recovery. I've tried wiping the cache, dalvik cache, and tried a factory reset. None of those worked. If I lose this phone I'm really screwed, is there no way to get out of this?

Boot in CM recovery and there is an option to connect the phone to the computer as a USB. There you can put the rom files etc and flash it again.

I ended up fixing the problem by finding out what sideloading is and sideloading the rom/gapps. Thanks for the help though!

[Q] No Custom Recovery Will Load

I was using CWM 6.0.4.3 to flash Android Revolution 52.0. When I rebooted the device after the install, the CWM would not load and it just bootlooped with the HTC dev screen.
I tried to load TWRP, bootloop.
I tried Philz, bootloop.
I cannot access and recovery to completely wipe the phone and start over. I tried using fastboot command to erase the phone and am getting a remote not allowed. Am I screwed?
Any help is totally welcome.
Solution
I was able to fix the issue.
In CWM, I was able to use the command
fastboot erase cache
When I restarted the recovery, I was able to restore a backup I made just before trying to install AR 52.0.
Also interesting note, I seem to be having an issue with Sense-based ROM's now. AR used to run solid on my device, I had issues with 51.0 having Sense crash and even Viper 5.5 was having problems with the Hub crashing and not responding.
Not sure why but just saying.

Help HTC One M9 Sprint No OS iNSTALLED TWRP 2.8.6.1 No Fastboot S-On

Hello, I need help. I tried to update my phone to a new ROM and now it is only booting in bootloader and says there is no OS. I have downloaded a RUU that matched, renamed it and put it on my microsd and tried to flash it but it reboots in TWRP. I have a backup and when I try to restore it says Restore Complete Failed---E: Cannot restore System -- mounted read only. I really love the M9 and want it back up and running can anyone please help me get it back functioning? It does not have fastboot option and adb server out of date. Pretty much a noob here. I have flashed other Roms before, but this M9 is proving to be a pain. I have been researching thread after thread and still no luck. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks I figured I will look at how to relock the bootloader without fastboot. I honestly didn't think I could install a rom because I figured most needed MM7 and I dont have that installed which is what happened when I tried to install Viper Rom
Got it working again. I had to restore only the boot and system image. After it rebooted I then restored data and it's back to normal.

Can you please help me?
i woke up today and my phone died of charge. I plugged in the charger and tried to power up my phone. It was stuck in a bootloop. So, I went into recovery, wiped cache and dalvik cache, rebooted, and still didnt work.
I then went to wipe and did the thing where twrp asks to do a factory reset by wiping cache, dalvik cache, and data. Still didnt worl, so i took out the sd card and did it again. Still bootloops. So, i then wiped dalvik cahce, cache, system, and data. Now, my phone is stuck in the white HTC logo with red text. and twrp tells me there is no os installed, are you sure you want to continue? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS! PLEASE PLEASE REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Hey did you get it to work? Just seeing this post. If you backed up your system and boot images boot into twrp and flash those copies you made before the wipes. See where that gets ya. Hopefully you got it fixed by now.
