Straight talk xt380c stock rom 4.4.4 KK. Been lookin around for root guides. Is there a root method for this phone? I can enter fastboot and stock recovery. It says 'device locked'.. Proceed with unlocking BL? Then root?

Hi all, im a noob
Ok im new and let me get this straight.
In order to root I need to unlock the bootloader following the directions at htcdev.com
After i unlocked the bootloader, i would be able to root my device using superboot.
Correct?
Also what does recovery do? and do i need to do the recovery step before i root my device?
Thank you!sorry for repost

Hi, I'm new to the android community and this has probably already been solved but how do I unlock the bootloader and root an AT&T HTC One which is running android 4.4.2 with Sense 5.5. I want to root my phone but am worried of accidentally bricking my phone. Thanks.
From htcdev.com, you need to get the Unlock_code.bin file. While getting this file, you will also get detailed instructions about how to use that file to unlock your bootloader.
Once you have unlocked your bootloader, flash any custom recovery of your choice (twrp or cwm).
Then through that custom recovery you can flash super user.zip.
Hello, i am kind of lost in the forum and can't quite find what i'm searching for, so i figured i should ask around
Is there an option for Xperia Z2 d6503 to root it without installing dual recovery or any recovery, unlocking bootloader and so on,
just a simple root, for "admin" privileges...like from fastboot or through adb just coping SU binary
Thank you all in advance

It depends on what android version you have in your phone, if you're still on 4.4.2 you can root it using a simple exploit and it's done (this one for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784900 )
If your phone is on android 4.4.4 or 5.0.2 you either:
1 - Downgrade to 4.4.2 , root, install dual recovery and upgrade to a prerooted 4.4.4 or 5.0.2 .zip firmware (no need to unlock bootloader)
2 - Unlock your bootloader (and lose your DRM keys) flash a kernel with recovery and flash supersu in recovery.
I have unlocked my bootloder. but i don't want to use cyanogenmod. because cyanogenmod not support VOLTE, so if ijust install TWRP using "fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.x.x-xxx.img" command and then install
"SR3-SuperSU-v2.78-SR3-20161103171345.zip" through install ZIP option in TWRP.
Basically i want to keep the previous firmware with root access
Is it possible ?
