There are lots of simple clipboard managers for that (Clipper Plus, Clip Stack, etc), which don't populate the contents the what's just been copied.
I would prefer to get rid of it as well. I don't ever actually use it, and the popup is just annoying. Worse, I use lastpass for all my passwords, so now I have the passwords I use as easily accessible plain text.
I'm also concerned about where this text is being stored and retained, if it is, on the phone or SD card. I like the feature, but security and privacy is a concern. Anyone have any insights into this?
you can try this if you are rooted: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jfsoftware.disablecliptray&hl=en

Unfortunately, I'm not rooted since apparently there isn't a legitimate process to do that for the Verizon version of the LG V10 yet.

I can confirm that this works.
To each their own ... but I've never used any app as a clip-tray, but this option on the phone is a complete joy to use for someone who's constantly tweaking letters/emails/notes to send to different groups or individuals.
Not discounting your dislike, as I said ... to each their own.
I miss the app, S6 Active atm
I have the lgv10 and now my clip tray is gone..its just says copied to clip board but clip tray does not pop out from side anymore...

avast! Antivirus is now on android. I installed it and it offers a butt load of features!
My personal favorite feature is the anti theft mode! it will allow you to save two contacts so that you can activate it through text message from those contacts by entering in the password. It will also notify those contacts if the person changes the SIM card and it will send the new number through message (stealth mode).
Here are some of the many features you all might like...
App Disguiser
After downloading avast! Anti-Theft, user can choose a custom name that disguises the app (e.g. call it “Pinocchio game”) so that it is even harder for thieves to find and remove.
Stealth Mode
Once anti-theft is enabled, the app icon is hidden in the app tray, leaving no audio or other trace on the target phone – the app is ‘invisible’, making it difficult for thieves to detect or remove.
Self-Protection
Extremely difficult for thieves to remove (especially on rooted phones), Anti-Theft protects itself from uninstall by disguising its components with various self-preservation techniques. On rooted phones it is able to survive hard-resets and can even disable the phone’s USB port.
SIM-Card-Change Notification
If stolen and a different (unauthorized) SIM card inserted, the phone can lock, activate siren, and send you notification (to remote device) of the phone’s new number and geo-location.
Trusted SIM Cards List
Establish a ‘white list’ of approved SIM cards that can be used in the phone without triggering a theft alert. You can also easily clear the trusted SIM cards list, to leave the one present in the phone as the only trusted one.
Remote Features
SMS commands provide you the following REMOTE options for your ‘lost’ (or stolen) phone:
Siren, Lock, custom Display properties, Locate, Memory Wipe, covert Calling, Forwarding, “Lost” Notification, SMS Sending, History, Restart, and more.
This antivirus by far has the best features! Best part is that it's free!!!!!!!!!!!!
A) antivirus is not necessary on the android operating system unless you're downloading...."shifty " stuff let's say.
B) yeh antitheft is really a GREAT feature holy geez. Unless of course they simply....wipe data and flash a new rom.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Yeah, if somehow we can put some lock code on flashing of new Rom then only anti theft has a meaning otherwise the thief can easily flash a new Rom and use the phone.
It is only be useful when we have left our phone somewhere and unable to locate it.

Downloaded something from the amazon app store a month ago and it was infected, Dr. web removed it....
Also I don't believe that if you lose your phone the thief will race home, learn how to wipe the atrix quickly and download a new ROM all within minutes. If I lost my phone I would know immediately and would start the anti theft process. Not all thief's are smart and in fact, if your a thief your not smart. You can have it disable a lot of features like the USB and other stuff if stolen just by messaging the phone and it all goes undetected..
But the app is not for everyone...... I would find it useful in a tight spot and I would rather have a CHANCE then no chance.
From what I can tell in the description you can set it up so Avast survives a hard reset so that you can still track the phone and lock it

There's a whole thread on this exact subject with links to articles about market apps being removed for trojans, etc. Nothing you download over any network or from any source can be guaranteed to be safe. If you believe it is, you are very naive.
The use of anti-virus is purely optional. Some like myself value it while others do not, but to plainly say you just don't need it is just bad advice to put it simply.

If you misplaced your phone and you realize within minutes yes you can do the siren thing to locate it quickly other then that the siren has no other use........ They have an option for almost every situation.

I am a premium lookout user and think its time to cancel my scrip.
A few questions, some of the features are locked and say download anti-theft root installation... cant find this anywhere. I am rooted on cm7 and ul bootloader
Also, I can not access anti-theft advanced settings for hard reset protection.
Lastly, where can I find the command list for how to track my phone and any other commands.
Thanks!!
Installed and testing. I want to see if it can replace 'Droid wall'. Kaspersky which i've been using for over a year hasn't got many features in my opinion...
no need for an antivirus on android. and there are plenty of antitheft apps. and besides just get a firewall. so if u DO happen to get a shifty app that wants to send data back home, usually a GOOD firewall will not allow it.
i wouldnt and dont worry about shifty apps anyways. My phone isnt used to hold anything important. i dont do business on it thats for sure lol. i dont order stuff on the net with it neither. If the website has a number to call and order I use it.
There are alot of people out there that do EVERYTHING from there phone.

Especially dangerously bad advice from uninformed and careless users.
Remember not too long ago, everyone thought Apples were immune to malware.
Also, viruses are but only one form of malware.

This might sound wierd, but:
How can I be sure that there is no program or website taking photos or videos
from my phone camera, while I regularly use it or browsing??
I mean, I have used IP webcam to broadcast the video from my android tablet to my ubuntu laptop, and it even has a hidden mode.
How are we sure that there is no some app or webpage duing something like that??
This question also comes to my mind, because the laptop webcam has a blue led that turns on when the camera is in use, but there is nothing in the tab?
Check whats running in the background.... and check the permissions of the apps installed on your phone.. thats it

Your post was correct and to-the-point, no doubt about that.
What I am saying is that by enabling this paranoia, we are doing more harm than good.
And this is not uncommon in Android. For example, many apps require permission to use camera. Gallery apps, photo editing apps, social network apps, you name it. It's simply so that they can have a tiny little button that says : "Take a new photo".
If a developer wants to capture photos without you knowing, he can do it and his app can look pretty legit too.
See where I'm going with this? It's high time we started saying things the way they are.
So, I stand by my point.
@OP: no one wants to see pictures of you THAT bad.

I agree. One thing some android users often seem to skip is the bit prior to app installation where it says exactly what features the app can access. If they see something suspicious there, say a live wallpaper that can dial phone numbers for example, they can just not install it.

My wife and I have i605's. Some apps look different on either phone. The most notable is Facebook. I even took the apk straight from her phone, completely different look. Logged in as her on my phone, didn't change. Logged in as me on her phone, kept her look. That convinces me it is phone specific, but why? We're both on Mean Bean Reloaded v.5. A few other apps have done this in the past. It's bugging the hell out of me. :cyclops:

Have either of you used Xposed or anything similar to tweak the DPI settings?
It isn't just DPI. I mean like her action bar is at the bottom of the screen, swiping left and right goes to different menus, and even action icons look different. It's really odd
Is it possible our phones are identifying differently to the Play Store? I'm grasping, I know.

Certainly is a strange phenomenon. The reason I mention the DPI tweaks is because it can cause the app to display itself in tablet mode or something. I'm guessing you'd know if for some reason your phone description was changed in your build.prop. When you go to 'about phone' in the settings do both phones read i605?

I can certainly understand your frustration. Especially if hers is better somehow.... I would ask if she was maybe using the Facebook beta app, but you said you even took the apk straight from her phone. So that would, to me, as I'm sure was your thought process too, eliminate the possibility of the Play Store recognizing your phones different. I've never used MeanBean to know if there is something within the rom doing it. Strange, sorry nobody seems to have an explanation.
I just checked. Even her desktop layout looks different! Is there some beta program done by them? I've only had an account for a couple years, and don't even care about it. I'll email Facebook and see what they can tell me. It appears that it may be account related, but then I'd think it would change logging in on my phone. It's confusing

I suggest you hold the bottom button down till the task list comes up, then swipe left to kill OUI2.0 launcher. When you do that, you will get a screen where you can select from available launchers...pick the little house with the android in it. Things will be more familiar then.

It doesn't get any simpler than this.
Most of the guides here for the x201 are done in such a way that you do exactly what the instructions say. Except for some rare cases, 99% of the time there are issues is because somebody skipped a step or did the steps out of order. The other part of the problem is people think "OMG new tech! It must be scary and complicated" when in fact the core concepts are the exact same as a computer. Install software, click button(s), wait, done.

OK Well i got my yahoo mail set up. also got google play store on by emailing it to myself and then installing it. also found some apk's that i had from my zwatch that work on the omate: Aquamail, Easy uninstaller, Battery meter.
Two BIG questions: why does the watch have 2 sets of screens? the main screen set(which seems to be the default) with the blue background and the other set you get to by swiping down thats got a dark grey background with similar apps but has folders and more apps. i'd like to make that my default) but everytime you push the bottom button, it goes to the original blue default screen. same when you turn off and on the watch, it defaults to the blue set. how do you get rid of that blue default screen set. also is there a gmail app or do ii have to DL from play store? and is there a call log app? i cant find it if there is. THANKS!!
So you didn't install any patch. Not good. Almost every bit of info you just put on your watch (passwords, usernames, contacts, etc.) is now accessible by hackers, malware and malicious websites. Your watch can also be bricked remotely as well.

You don't need your computer to see it as a drive to patch it. Where did you read that you did?
Windows does not have to see any phone as a drive to recognize that it's there.
Getting your watch to be seen as a drive on your computer
Connect watch to PC
On the watch either a screen will pop up with a button saying "Turn on USB Storage" or "USB Connected" shows up in notifications
If you do not get the popup tap on "USB Connected" in notifications, the popup should now appear.
If none of these things happens the most likely cause it that the dock is defective.

There has been less than 5 reports of somebody actually bricking their watch and it wasn't from running either patch. The worst that happens is that you have to flash factory firmware to the watch. In the instances of people bricking their watch it has been because of flashing untested firmware that they got from somewhere other than myself.
The two sets of "screens" are launchers. You can either clear the defaults for the primary launcher or factory reset your watch.

I sort of depends on your cards. I lost my Stock quote cards and had to do a Google "Quote XRX" search. That restored my card for stocks. It's tied closely to your search activity, so do some searches and see if that restores the cards you're looking for.

That's not true. Also the watch prevents duplicate cards...
Usually just search for it in order for it to reappear. Weather gone? Say "How's the weather?". Calendar gone? Say "What does my schedule look like?" And so on...
If it was an app that had a card just open the app again.
You might also try refreshing google now on the phone if it was a google now card.

You're right about that, but technically that means refreshing the notification (and thus the input may be different/updated). It depends on how you look at it (perhaps i'm splitting hairs now )
How do I refresh google now on my phone? I've looked but don't see a refresh button. I've googled the weather like 10 times and the weather card still isn't showing up. Same for stocks. What a pain!

That's weird, this usually works for me. Is the weather showing when you asked for it or does it just do a google search? And is the weather card still on the phone? You can refresh google now on the phone by swiping down when open and at the top.
Do your searches for the relevant card, give it some time. It will reappear.
Thanks Devs, from my LG G2
I understand some of the above frustrations with cards. For me I really like the weather on my watch face and wish there was a watch face that had weather (temperature) built right the face (not a card). I have accidentally swiped away my weather card and sometimes it takes hours for it to reappear.
Hoping over the next few weeks, devs will start making 3rd party watch faces (if it is even possible).
