I have a problem with the outgoing audio on voice calls - after about 40 seconds in a call, the other person is telling me that my voice is sounding very distorted and broken up. The first 40 seconds or so are normal.
I have found that a temporary fix is to enable and disable the loudspeaker during the call.
It seems that OPOs and some OPTs have a similar issue, and I have found threads on the One Plus forums suggesting various edits to build.prop, which I'd rather not do. Example here .
Is anyone else having similar issues, and have you found a fix?

Hi i randomly get a very low in call volume both with the ringing tone and then the person's voice once connected. It seems to be completely random. I try calling again and the same thing happens until some time later. Anyone else experience this?
Anyone?
There is a thread somewhere here on in-call volume flucuations. You are not alone. I don't experience that yet with my G3 though.
Some have suggested it might related to the upper microphone ?
Thanks. I'll try searching again.
Hello,
I'm facing the issue that voice messages (e.g. WhatsApp voice messages) are recorded in a very low volume. The person I'm sending the messages to is almost not able to hear me.
The volume during a regular phone call seems to work.
Does anyone know a solution for that? I already googled and changed some values within the build.prop, audio_platform_info.xml and mixer_paths.xml but nothing seems to work.
Regards
There was thread about this few months ago. It turned out that third party apps sometimes record via Noise Cancellation Mic
And is there any possibility to change that?
Can you give me a link to this thread?
Thanks in advance!
I have a Nokia 7.2 [Model: TA-1178], live in the states and use MetroPCS (T-mobile).
Curious if anyone has experienced voice call issues since the Android 10 roll out.
Problems I am having is sporadic but when answering calls I will have no audio.
Other scenario is when placing calls audio is like 'chirping'. This occurs sometimes when receiving calls also.
Looking online I have read other Nokia users (different devices) refer to same issue describing it as chipmunk or chirping sound.
At this time the fixes I have found are also the same identified by the other device users.
If no audio enable / disable speaker then everything works okay.
For the chirping/chipmunk noise you need to disable VoLTE and also disable Wi-Fi calling.
Like to know if anybody else having problems.
If you are I hope the suggestions help if you've not identified a better solution.
Hi there people.
I've got the following issue. If anyone has this issue or has fixed it let me know.
Calls seem to be interfering with my mic. Sometimes my voice doesn't go to the other end even though normal call or whatsapp call. They might hear 1 word then nothing from me for a few seconds then a word or two and it sometimes sounds like a clicking noise.
I've called my self too and I can't hear anything on my RM7 but whoever I call can hear the clicking noise and sometimes nothing from me.
Sometimes I can't hear the other person too. It cuts out.
Same with normal calls and whatsapp calls.
Continuing my testing, I can send voice notes without issue and receive them and play it via rhe earpiece without issue too. Even voice recording and video recording the microphone does a good job only in calls it bugs out.
Continuing my testing
Works fine with headphones connected. But mic and earpiece work fine when used by voice notes and video ect
I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but I have the same issue. It started around last week.
I cleaned my speakers and mic thinking I got dirt build up. But it's still the same.
It seems like a software issue. Looking at the patch notes in latest OS update (NX679J_UNcommon_V3.16) for me, they have listed "Repair: possible issues with calls in some scenarios". I don't know when they released the update and when I applied it to my phone but that could be the reason for this issue too.
After reading your post I tried regular calls with headphones, speakers and video call with Google meet. They all work fine.
For call on speaker, as soon as you turn the speaker off it starts acting up again.
Hopefully they will fix this issue soon.
From my testing it seems like its an app or something interfeering with the calls. I started the phone up in safe mode (no 3rd party apps only stock ones) and the issue was gone, so the issue is a app related issue, thinking its a virus I just reset the phone to factory and all is good now. I didnt find what was causing it.
Thanks for an update.
I will play around a bit and if it doesn't work out then will do the same.
I installed Lineageos 20 on my device, and I keep hearing my own voice and other mic sounds through my headset, both in calls and after calls while the headset is connected. Other people say they hear echoes of their own voice. I don't know if the two are related.
Additionally, after a messenger call, both headset and builtin microphones sometimes stop working everywhere, but come back after another call, I can't seem to find a more exact pattern to replicate this.
I tried so far installing a microphone-fix magisk module, but I think it was only for microphone volume, and also editing build.prop to include :
Code:
ro.vendor.audio.sdk.fluencetype=fluence
persist.vendor.audio.fluence.speaker=true
persist.vendor.audio.fluence.voicecall=true
persist.vendor.audio.fluence.voicerec=true
though I'm not sure if these are the correct lines, I've found conflicting information about fluencetype on build.prop, or even if it's relevant at all...
Any information that could help to fix the issues?
