I'm using Motorola Moto E(condor), I had automatic restart problem in my stock ROM, later I unlocked the bootloader and installed custom ROM, I had been using custom ROM for months, Now suddenly when I changed the ROM My mobile's brightness has become low, Even bootloader brightness is low, and now if i enable auto brightness and move the brightness slider to 25% its becoming darken(unable to view anything). So I changed to Stock ROM, but the problem still exists.
Help me out please......

Same problem here. Any luck finding a solution?
Flash this maybe your brightness will increase.

Though I think it might be a hardware related problem.

I have the i717 from rogers and currently running the cm9 official rom but it doesnt seem to matter what rom im on I see this werid fluttering brightness thing occurring on any rom. Try my best to describe it, it is like its almost fluttering up or down in brightness levels when about to dim or undim I am wondering if this is maybe a hardware issue with my device that I should get serviced or if it is normal?

I was going to ask what rom .but then had a thought regarding the light sensor on the device .
And I remember reading about sensor calibration and possible causes of fluctuations .
I suppose a search would find that for you ...but check this also ...
Display settings in cm allow light to decrease ...it's a hysterisis setting ...(I butchered that word )
And the settings control flicker in the display . You might try turning those off .
Next is the power saver settings which allow a light decrease also ..after a few seconds of no screen touch ,the light level drops too save power .
And third ...turn off your automatic light level setting in display settings .
I'm thinking three items are conflicting a bit and some mild tuning will fix it ...g
Hey there,
I recently tried out the new Cyanogenmod 9.1 for Xperia Mini. I was impressed about some of the functions/improvements, especially the unbelievable bright display! Unfortunately the battery drain was not acceptable for me so I had to switch back to the standard ROM. So my question is has anybody an idea how we could increase the max brightness of the standard ROM? I mean it must be adjustable otherwise Cyanogenmod would not be able to give a much brighter display ... Any suggestions/ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Thorsten
Either use the ultrabrigthness mod from themes and apps section or download from playstore xperia autobrightness disable, then you can control screen brightness with toggles.
Btw, CM9 drains waaay less battery that stock, increasing screen brightness is what affects it the most..
Thanks man,
could you give me a link to the mod, couldnt find it ...
BtW, under cyanogenmod my battery drained over night like hell, so it obviously had nothing to do with the screen!

Here, push this file to system/etc directory with adb

Did you check the battery usage to see what drained the battery? CM cannot have higher battery consumption than stock, that's a fact, probably an app went haywire or something wasn't installed correctly.
will it have any significant battery drain if auto brighness is disabled??
Turning off auto brightness actually increases your battery since it's not using the light meter on your phone and constantly processing to change your brightness based on the light you are getting.
Hey,
Updated from 4.2 to 4.3 hoping it was a glitch with 4.2 but my screen brightness flickers up and down what appears to be about 5 levels consistently (very fast, resembles a flickering) whenever the display is on. The brightness control also doesn't work, it has no effect on the brightness levels, you can slide it from one side to the other with no actual change.
This has an ill affect of draining the battery about 1% a minute when the display is on.
Anyone have a similar problem or know how to fix this?
I have the auto brightness unchecked and when enabled there is no change either.

When you flashed to 4.3 did you do a wipe? Have you tried a reset at any time? If you just updated without wipe it would have retained any previous settings or conflicts that may cause this.
Sent from my C6833 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'll do a quick backup and then try a wipe to see if that clears it up. Thanks for the suggestion.
maybe you has to sent to service central but before just update again ,hope will fine
Did all the wipes and no go, called up Bell and have her going in for a RMA check. Can't wait to see what they say.

Are you sure you flashed the device correctly and followed the procedures in LordManhattan's guide or [NUT]/blueether's posts?
I have a mt6572 phone and I'm facing a problem related to brightness of my phone.
My screen brightness is always high and it burns my eyes at night.
I cant find any brightness option in my build.prop.
So I added this line to appropriate section of build.prop--
Code:
ro.lcd.min_brightness=blah(low as possible)
I rebooted my phone and nothing changed.
Still high brightness.
So,I tried this--
Code:
ro.init.screen_brightness=blah(as low as possible)
It didn't make any difference too.
I tried changing roms.
But every kk rom has the same issue(But ported from different phones).
It dont happen in LP roms.
I know about CF lumen,Darker and etc. screen controller app.I know those are great but I don't wanna use them.
I just want to get rid of it without using an app.
I will be glad if someone post a solution for me.

Hi guys,
I'm in love with my Honor 9 (and with my girlfirend obviously, she's standing right there when I'm writing this post ) BUT there are some issues.
1) The auto-brightness isn't working as it should. Previously I had G3 and the auto-brightness was amazing but with Honor 9 it seems to do whatever the phone wants or what. I'm outside on the sunny day, want to take some photos but the screen is on it's minimal brightness and reacts very slowly or not at all and when I move the slider to the point of max brightness the screen is still darker than it should be (I got the max brightness when I turn off the auto-brightness only). Overall the auto-regulation is sh*t. Do you have the same issue?
2) From what I found this is a well known bug with auto-brightness. The screen is dimming when I open some apps like GMail, Chrome etc. and it's really annoying. Overall the brightness is wierd and even with the auto-regulation off and display on max brightness is dimming sometimes. This should be problem with the EMUI 5.x so I have three questions. Do you have the the same issue? Does B130 solve this (I wasn't lucky to install it and now I can't find it, phone says B100 is the most recent version - they stopped the update?)? Does any of custom ROM's solve this?
Thanks a lot.
I'm on stock ROM B100, EU version, CZE.
That happens with almost any Honor device with nougat (EMUI 5)
In other words, they don't give a fu*k right?
It seems so
Thought so. Can it be solved with other ROM?
I don't know, I've never tested a custom ROM on honor 9
