i have heard that there is a stereo microphone accessory for sony xperia phones, i have tried using a stereo microphone and its working fine. since its a stereo input micropohne, i need to know whether i could feed any stereo input (line in recording) to my phone and record better quality audio.? thanks in advance.
If you want just better quality of voice recording clips, download some of voice recorder apps from play store and you would have great audio voice quality.

Hi guys,
can anybody help me find a way to reduce the audio input gain?
I was trying to use my SGS II to record some live concerts and rehearsals of my band and all I got was HORRIBLE distortion.
I tried to google my problem but no success yet.
Please help!

I didn't mentioned that I am talking about the audio quality of video recording and I am running on the original ROM that came with the phone.
Nothing? Anybody?
As of now I don't know of any software solution to lower the mic gain when recording video.
However, I've heard that using the headset that came with your phone (earbuds with mic attached) while recording video should use the mic on the headset, which will result in better audio (albeit in mono instead of in stereo, but that's a small sacrifice) in the video recording. I've not tried it personally, but you could try that out.

It doesn't have to be the headset that came with the phone, I think any headset which you can use the mic in calls should work.
My Zagg Smartbuds worked fine with this method.
Hi people!
I have an issue with Sony Audio Recorder app and noise cancel headphones that are included with the phone (MDR-NC31E)
The new update adds the Binaural feature to record "3D" sound using the headphones microphones.
article here:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/10/2...for-smartband-talk-and-mdr-c31em-dnc-headset/
I tried the new feature but the recording is in mono, not even stereo! It uses the headphones microphones correctly but the risult is in mono. :crying:
Maybe there are different version of the headphones?
Any of you with this problem?
I need to use some hands free apps through a bluetooth handset (e.g. cyberon voice commander, Klets, and others).
All these hands free apps use the voice recording function of the phone to acquire the voice.
I noticed very bad accuracy in voice recognition using the BT headset. I tried to record voice through the headset and discovered that the recording is very bad, low volume and noisy. While if I record directly through the phone mic it is crystal clear.
I tried with different BT headsets and the result is the same.
Nevertheless voice conversation over the BT headset is working well.
Any one as experienced the same behaviour and/or found a solution?

Any news on this issue? Will it be addressed in the 5.0 upgrade from Sony?
Bug: Voice cancellation while BT recording
I have investigated on this issue and learned that Sony firmware after Andriod 4.4.x activate voice cancellation while Bluetooth recording.
This reduces the voice recording quality and accuracy rate of voice recognition.
Sony, when you will solve this bug?
i can't seem to record audio through the camcorder microphone using any audio recording apps (i've tried easy voice recorder, recforge and field recorder) though the sound is fine through that microphone when i record video using the camera.
when i use an audio recording app, the sound through that microphone is just garbled, glitchy mess. i get the same results whether i record in stereo or mono, and in both stock rom and custom roms.
i used to use my old i5800 as a sampler all the time using easy voice recorder, and never had problems.
Hello
I have developed an app with on one hand plays some sound and on the other hand it records an audio. I use AudioTrack to play sounds and MediaRecorder for recording.
The problem is that when I connect any headphones with microphone, all audio output is included in recording, which is not my desired effect.
I checked it only on various Samsung phones - on every of them the problem ocurred.
Is it possible NOT to include audio output in recording when headphones with jack are connected?
Thanks for any help
