I've already posted this in the N7000 forum and I guess most of you are new here so I don't want you guys to miss out on this really cool find.
Since the note has such a big screen why not push the boundaries and try out some try desktop-style multitasking

Halleluja! I've been asking for something like this for months. See my split screen/multiview thread in the N7000's theme/app forum. Now please add a couple features:
1. "Snap" like Windows 7 Ultimate has, but slightly different. Make it so that when you drag the app's title bar to a side, it snaps to fully fill the screen halfway on that side. Dragging to a corner makes the window snap to fully fill that 1/4 of the screen. If you have the screen filled with 2 windows (or 3 or 4), make it so you can drag the border between windows and they'll automatically resize at the same time to maintain the screen filled.
2. Have the notification bar pull down over all windows.
If you add these features and make it work, I'll buy a copy for $50.
P.S. Why in the world, if the Note's capable of running all of that at the same time, did Samsung feel the need for such aggressive RAM management that I can't currently switch from my browser window to email, one other app, then back to the browser without my entire browsing session being closed down!?

Just bought the browser version. For $1.50, why not?
Honestly I can't see myself using this on my note even though we have the biggest screen size of any phones. I can see this being useful for tablets or for showing off to my iphone buddies!

Jim, apparently that will not work for us with the AT&T Gnote. so nobody should go buy those apps just yet

I didn't think it read like an ad. Then I saw both were paid apps and read it again.
That said, for $1.49, I figured, why not?
Both work great on my I717. Stock ROM, not rooted, running ADW Launcher EX, and using hacker's keyboard. I was able to run two 1080p videos at the same time with the video program, and was able to run 3 you tube videos on the browser. No problems with keyboard. The only problem with lag is it seems as I run more and more videos the sound and video gets a bit out of sync.
Thanks for the link. I like the browser because I am often copy/clipping stuff, or re-keying stuff from the browser window to somewhere else and that makes it much easier. I don't know that I'll use the video thing much, but its neat to show off, as others have said.

The video app will come in handy for my use case. I like to use the Google Navigation while driving but also want to hear my language training video at the same time. Before there was no way to run my video app while running the navi app at the same time. Now I do! Thanks.
That is a great app and it shows what the future will be for smart phones. Big screens that are used in a Landscape mode for most functions. The only need for portrait is to hold it up to your ear to make a call.
People are making a lot less calls.

This is true, you can expand your phone as far as you want. I mean if you used a bluetooth keyboard and hooked this up to a TV.. I might just try that

No worries, I guess I still have some 3D UI spreading to do on other forums, it seems as if people have the mindset that the manufacturer UI is what your stuck with. eg, Once touch wiz, always touch wiz
So it's the holidays and I'm very very poor right now. I've trying to think of things to make for my lady, and one thing that came to mind was an app! lol, she's on her phone a lot and she knows i love messing with my phone so I thought it'd be a cool idea to make her a custom app, something simple, maybe with a splash screen that shows a pic of us, and then into a love note, followed by some pics of us.
So that's my idea, I've tried making this on one app maker, the crappy conduit one, but every time i installed the APK on my phone (nexus5) it never showed any of the stuff i made on their site.
So here's the thing, does anyone know of a good and easy app maker I could use that would allow me to basically design it, and have it make the code for me, and the APK? I have eclipse setup on my system so i may be able to any editing and whatnot...but, seeing as time is a factor (i only have a few days) id love to get it done in a matter of a day at least.
any info or tips would be greatly appreciated, im no coding genius but i can follow directions quite well lol. Thanks!

i can help you get in to the play store if your intrested i have a developer acct ... im just not that good at coding so i could not be too much help on that end .... if you had more time i could build it for you but im slow.. but if you want it in the playstore send me the apk and ill see what i can do

oh nah man, i dont need it on the play store. this is just a personal thing for her. I would send her the apk to install on her phone (i'll probably be right next to her to show her how) and then she would just open it, read the note and swype through some pics of us. I just think it'd be cool for her to have an entire custom app that's her and I, instead of just some slideshow online that anyone can do these days.

no i would need the java key for that apk file to edit it ..... it may be possible but im not experienced enough to know how to do that

so for start I downloaded all android SDK and Studio.
My idea is to have menu with pictures (ill make those out of disney cartoons in photoshop)
once clicked it will enlarge and show colour pallet (preferably 256 colours, tiny boxes) that she could touch at top of screen,
and enlarged picture at bottom where she could fill empty spaces with desired colours.
device im intend to use is Samsung s4 or s5 my wifes or note 4 which im willing to get soon
I know I might ask for quite a lot but honestly its beyond me. I have tried to google some libs but after 6h I failed miserably.

Perhaps you wish for a child's mode or guest mode in which only certain apps can be accessed? Because what you are suggesting is making an app that you can enter, but can't leave. How will you get out of it when you need to?
Try an applocker that can be disabled/reenabled via a password... This way you can only make a coloring app (and other games) available to her unless she has a special password. Apps like this should block the phone, gallery, messaging, or anything else you wish for her not to access.
Try something like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pluggdd.SmartAppLocker , but if you don't like this then there are a plethora of other alternatives.
Now you should be able to allow her to access several apps and games that you deem to be appropriate for her, then, when you need your phone you can exit it and use it however you please.

You obviousely didn't read. The OP said in Standalone Mode. This means he doesn't have access to the store thanks to Samsung's stupidity.

No biggie, though battery life is good info. While I kind of wanted it myself, because it looks cool. Though, if it really hurts battery life, screw it. I rather keep my current clock and keep my 2 days of battery life without using the charger's battery to refresh it. If i used that, i could probably go 3-4 days without plugging it in.

What Clock do u use? I use Big Clock Launcher, and after 9h still got like 50% (reading notification, some replays, clock, sometims calls, timer/stopwatch). Last day I use default blue face on Gear S and watch died very fast - what is the point has good looking face if that make battery life shorter even if u have "small powerbank made for S"? The clock is only small piece of smartwatch - but for some people, this is imporat, they have a digital rolex on hand... There is also not much good apps, in Galaxy Apps u find many faces but not many good apps - but if u found it - pay 1€/2€.
Only normal Android like _NULL for first Gear smartwatch can be something more usefull like first Gear (secret recording, mxplayer, opera, quickpic and photospheres, etc) - when, we can unleash the beast, otherwise just just another good watch but limited because, nobody want make big improvments just small.
I'm using a digital clock with date and the step counter. It was on my Gear S when I got it. I originally wanted the one like it with weather, but the weather never updates in standalone mode. I can't stand how locked down Samsung made this thing. It's basically a smartphone on your wrist, but stupid Samsung had to make it tied to a damn Samsung smartphone. Good way to hinder sales and prompt many to just return the device.

Its still there but u need to lauch Store for Gear Manager (by pressing Samsung Gear Apps), otherwise, u just looks a smartphone martket - I know, its stupid...

Please could you help regarding the holo wgt I am finding some can see and others cant I have exhausted every way possible to get this widget. I have a brand new Gear S which I purchased from ebay when it arrived it was in polish the firmware is R750XXU2BOG2 Gear manager 2..21511841_2.202 15071441 is this stopping me from downloading the holo wgt I would be very grateful if you help me out ans sorry to bother you.
My phone is a galaxy S4 mini which i took a separate contract out.

and firmware of Gear S watch: R750AUCU1OB1
Sorry to revive a year old post here. But mozillaopera do you still have the holo watchface on your smartwatch? If so, I am looking for it also and I can tell you how to post it up here.
Or hardman247 were you ever able to find a copy?
*It's an OWSC file (not a wgt), and it's stored on whatever phone was linked to your watch to install it (because you install watch faces from the gear app on your phone and then they get transfered to your watch).

frodone you are awesome! Thank you. Feels like I've been searching for this silly thing forever, and now I have it.
In case anyone else wants to install this:
Download the SDB kit
Put your gear s in usb debugging
Make sure your computer sees it "SDB Devices"
SDB Install the file frodone just uploaded, and it will appear in your watch face selector (long press watch face).

Amazmod is an all in one app with a lot of feature as APK install, file manager, notification manager etc and to work correctly you need to have service installed on watch and amazmod app from PlayStore on phone

Yes manually (from web site to add to watch folder) is much more easier as yours method. Just need to connect and to add, done. With Amazmod need 3rd parties app (in smartphone), add apk and install it in the watch and ect. Too much work

1. Download Watch Face
2. Connect Verge's cable
3. Add watch in cable
4. Transfer (add) Watch Face from computer to Verge folder
5. Enjoy, done
WITH SMARTPHONE:
1. Go to Google Play and find app
2. Install app into smartphone
3. Find watch face*
4. Install watch face
5. Enjoy, done
*I did not checked and tested yours app, but i tried the same way to install Watch Faces with other app from Watch Faces for Amazfit watches web site. With this app was needed to install first amazmod app to watch and only then i can install Watch Faces, it's extra step and is not confortable, my opinion. I think with yours everything is the same.
Second thing which is taste question, but if we talking about me i have to say that: i guest you are from Italy, cos in yours app and web site all or most Watch Faces is created with Italy logo, Italy's football team and many others brands from Italy or related. Most Watch Faces or all i don't like. Are you still think with yours apps is still better as via computer?

*I did not checked and tested yours app, but i tried the same way to install Watch Faces with other app from Watch Faces for Amazfit watches web site. With this app was needed to install first amazmod app to watch and only then i can install Watch Faces, it's extra step and is not confortable, my opinion. I think with yours everything is the same.
Second thing which is taste question, but if we talking about me i have to say that: i guest you are from Italy, cos in yours app and web site all or most Watch Faces is created with Italy logo, Italy's football team and many others brands from Italy or related. Most Watch Faces or all i don't like. Are you still think with yours apps is still better as via computer?

Taking into account that this app contains watchfaces from other places like amazfit.marekzima.com, but with this horrible logo, I would not say "Italian do it better".
Especially when it comes to the great watchface BEW DIGITAL, which has been spoiled by the application of the logo, losing all the balance of its design.

GreatFit watch face is stolen from GreatApo member in yours web site http://www.vergeit.it/#/apk and you crying here about stolen watch faces from yours site? Really? Which by the way from 3 apk watch faces is most downloaded. So maybe stop to claim here like little child, coz in yours "italian doing better" web site Italian boy stealing from others too.
P.S.
