Several problems with Xperia Z2 after unlocking bootloader - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello XDA community,
I have a Xperia Z2, and i unlocked bootloader WITHOUT saving my DRM Keys, (i know shame on me :crying, now i know I did something stupid, nothing to do about it, but since i unlocked, i have had several problems: inestability, it means i am using an app and it restarts, or just closes, or even my phone restarts, if I go to contacts i dont have facebook contacts, the option just dissapeard, it means birthdays dont show in calendar, average camera photos just too noisy or awful photos, xreality not working properly, i know some issues are known but i havent heard about facebook contacts, to be honest i feel really bad with phone like it. So my questions are these, and thank u, thank u who could answer me, just work with me I know a little of these world, so if u could be a little specific about instructions or solutions i would really appreciate it:
1) Having an unlocked bootloader phone, in terms of security, is it easier to hackers to mess up my phone?
2) Is it better to lock my bootloader, if so, how can i do it, resolving my issues and not losing features?
3) If unlocked bootloader is an option, how can i have my phone back, i mean without issues? ( I read a thread about this point, but i confuse a little, because i dont have recovery or rooted)
I tried installing an ftf from flashtool, issues still there =(
Thank your for ur patience.
God bless u.

Hmm technically yes. I guess it would be detrimental if someone grabs your phone and flash's a hacked boot.img. Root on your phone is more of a risk with an internet based attack or corrupt apk.

You can lock your bootloader but it won't fix your issues as you've lost your drm keys. There is a drm fix in the cross development section I think. Google "Xperia drm fix xda". Not sure if this will fix your Facebook issue though, I've never heard of that one. To relock your bootloader google "Xperia relock bootloader xda"

Firstly, if you don't have recovery or root, why unlock your bootloader? Thats sort of the point.
Since you lost your drm keys, the best thing you can do is flash a stock ftf file, apply the drm fix and relock your bootloader. It will never be 100 percent the way it was as you can't reapply your drm keys.

I'm also tired of this specially camera quality!

For both of you, about camera quality with unlocked bootloaders:Just flash from recovery Drm Restoration file from thread Xperia Z drm keys restoration amd you would have same pictures qhality like before:crisp images, with accurate colors and etc.

If you just want root access then just use gingerbreak, bootloader unlocking is not needed. Also trackid will no longer work if the bootloader is unlocked.

Make TA backup before unlocking bootloader. When you want to re-lock it, write original TA back.

You keep referring to "keeping a backup of your TA". Still, to the best of my knowledge, we have no tools for that yet :-O Unfortunately.

Yes, I constantly do that because that's the most important part of Sony Ericsson S1 phone. If everyone here had original TA backups before unlocking bootloader, there won't be any need for 16 pages of discussion on how to fix bricked Plays and still not find a 100% working solution.

Here's my thought:
We first need free TA backup and write.
Then someone with fully working play should make TA backup (Both a and i Play)
Then I find out the addresses of security zone in TA.
You backup security zone.
Write TA backed up from working phone.
Write your security zone.
That worked on every SE phone so far with GDFS/TA.
What is the TA you're referring to?
Trim Area - part of the phone which contains unique and important data like IMEI, Sim locks, radio data, etc...
Ah, I see. It seems a lot like the /efs folder in the Sammy Galaxy S.

Yes, something like that, only thing is that TA has signed parts so it's almost impossible to unlock phone for free at the moment.

exactly, you made it sound so simple
after unlocking the bootloader, flashing a prerooted system.img will also work if you don't want a custom kernel.
Finding this should not be that hard: [Xperia S][INFO][REF] All that u need to know before u begin
Oh.. and unlocking the bootloader will also have some disadvantages like warranty and DRM related things.
Still not easy
can you link it step by step plz...
what i have to do first
(little noob)
I have not rooted my phone (yet..) i don't want to unlock bootloader.
I think its best if you start reading from the beginning of the previous link, or if you want to get started right away then:
see this tutorial for Unlocking Bootloader:

and this for rooting:

Thx man i will try it...
to root i will have to unlock bootloader??
is that really needed?
Arter bootloader i need to unlock also??
Currently it is the only way to root, later on another way will probably come along, but for now you must unlock your bootloader to root your device.
There isn't really much of downside besides losing some functionality in some apps due to the loss of your DRM key. It does not 100% void your warranty, but if you plan on overclocking and it goes wrong, your warranty will probably be voided.

[Q] unlocking bootloader

Hi all! Before buying an xperia mini pro SK17i i wanted to ask something in order to get if i did understood what i have read on the forum.
I have read here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792) that there are 2 way to unlock the bootloader on sony xperia 2011 devices (like the mini pro). The "test point" way is defenitly not for me. I am too noob for that. I can only do the "offcial way". Now i have two questions about this way of unlocking the bootloader:
1) By unlocking by this way i will loose DRM and TrackID. What are these 2 thing? Are they important?
2) Together with DRM and TrackID, will i loose warranty too?
3) On the same thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792) i have read that there is a way to relock the bootloade. By doing that will i get Track ID back? (i have aloready read somewhere else that DRM cannot get back even after relocking so i am just asking about TrackID)
4) If answer to question n.2 is yes, will i get the warranty back if i relock the bootloader followinf this () procedure?
Thanks in advance to anyone who will help me.

1) Yes, you lose both functionality, but we are unaware, what are DRM keys used for. Original TrackID will not work, but if you install newer version from Market, you will have no problems, so don't worry about that.
2) Yes, warranty is void, but bootloader can be still relocked.
3) Nope, DRM keys are gone forever, about TrackID, I already wrote.
4) Depending on the service shop, if you lock the bootloader, they will likely not check, if it has been unlocked or not. Official service shops/manufacturers might go looking for the DRM keys.
Last answer is a opinion, as neither I or anyone else has experience with this, so we are not aware of it. As long as bootloader is locked, we think you will be fine.
Is so much better via testpoint, just my 2 cents

[Q] Restoring phone to stock

Hi everyone, wonder if you can point me in the right direction.
I'm currently on a custom rom with an unlocked bootloader and I wish to go back to stock including locking the bootloader, from what I've found out so far this is what I need to do: -
Flash original ftf
root
flash TA
reflash ftf to lose root
Now back to stock with "Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes"
Trouble is I can't find how to go about restoring the TA partition from my TA image so if anyone can explain what software I need and the steps I have to take I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks.
You can use the same tool that is used to backup the TA partition (read the FAQ in the 1st post):

Sorry for high-jacking this thread, it however loosely fits my problem.
When I got the Z2 I was, in all honesty quite quick with rooting and swapping the stock Sony ROM with Cyanogen. So quick in fact that I didn't bother for two seconds to actually perform a backup of the system beforehand.
So my question is this - is it possible (given the fact that DRM and such will be lost for all eternity) to revert to stock rom without the backup?
If so... How really? (couldn't find anyhone so stupid on here to do the same rookie misstake as I did so no answers was found while scouring through the forums...)
Thanks in advance, and yet again, sorry for high-jacking the thread.

nothing is affected by your drm keys weather they exist or not in 4.4.2/4.4.4 xperias they are simply used to check if you have modified your device ie. bootloader unlock (relocking doesnt restore your drm keys)

Dear All,
I refer to this below thread for a bit of history;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-x/help/restore-xperia-x-dual-f1522-to-stock-t3587368
After the success of flashing the stock rom and relocking the bootloader I tried to launch the camera but i keep getting the above message!
FYI I didn't have my TA partition backed up as well as the DRM keys thing-ies.
Any idea of what could be causing this?

I couldn't find the error message your taking about. Briefly read what u said and understood some. So youunlocked bootloader, installed custom recovery and a rom, and manged to flash to official firmware and are having problems with the camera.
As someone mentioned in that other thread you gave, when you block bootloader l, you lose the TA part ions which contains DRM, which can help camera to work as Sony wants it. The lost TA is lost likely causing issues., thus I recommend rooting to do man which have fixes for the lost DRM (not a replacement for the list ones) , so your camera will function correctly again. Be u seen you never made aback up of the TA, you've permanently lost them, even after relocking the bootloader.
P. S. I'm sure someone mentioned a similar thing to you no in the other thread.
Hope I helped u in some way.
Hey man,
Thanks for the thorough reply. So you think I have no hope of getting the camera to work while maintaining the stock firmware with locked bootloader?

That right, I think you dont have any reason to come back to stock firmware when you lost DRM key, because some rom have DRM fix like poision rom and pexorom. In addition, I am using posion rom which is really stable and fixed all your problem.
