Has anyone enabled encryption and can comment on performance?
I activated on device (not sdcard) and didn't notice changes in daily usage. But i'm not running load tests
Longer to boot due to additional step at startup, but except that, I use it the same way
I use FDE on my Z5, performance is flawless, no difference to non-FDE use.

Hey guys,
I need help. My battery life is absolutely shocking. And yes, I have adequately calibrated my battery (which IMO shouldn't make that much of a difference).
Please share your tips for maximizing battery here!
Basically, when I call someone, I lose like 10% in about 10 minutes. Not good. And I like to be on the phone for hours on end.
Please help, and thus also help others!
P.S: I am using Wolfbreaks 2.3.3 ROM.
P.P.S: I have tried:
CPU Profiles
Setting Max Clock Speed to 576MHz.
Governor is interactive.
2G only (never 3G) on a 900MHz network.
Manually killed some tasks which may consume battery (rarely though, makes no observable difference).
I never connect wireless, and (background) data is disabled.
Brightness always at an all-time low.
Added some build.prop modifications (setting the WiFi scan interval to 5 minutes [300 seconds], just in case I enable WiFi).
No Bravia Engine/xLoud enabled (not even included in the ROM).
Undervolt kernel module (my phone never crashes).
NOTE: Aeroplane mode is not an option unfortunately I need my phone on an connected 24/7.
Other things to note about my use:
I don't ever listen to music.
I never browse the internet whilst connected to 3G.
I rarely connect to my WAP.
I rarely use the camera.
I rarely watch videos.
I occasionally (sometimes) browse the Gallery ( <100 pictures ).
Cheers guys!
Even I have recently installed wolf's rom and I find that the battery is performing lesser than before...
Did your battery encounter overheating issue before? I'm not an expert therefore I'm just capable to give advice As for me battery draining quite fast too when on call but on other time its just fine
Hi,
I am experiencing massive performance issues with my phone when I turn on
synchronization (just my google account)
The phone doesn't react properly anymore - screen is laggy, apps take forever to start up, I am almost unable to take any calls.
I monitored this behaviour with my previous phone (ZTE Blade running Stock and CM7) as well with mit current phone LG 2x (trying Stock / Custom Stock (Django Manouche) / CM9 Nova HD)
If I turn off synchronization everything is smooth again and working without delays.
A similar behavior is shown when apps (especially multiple updates) get installed - but that is probably because the phone is working. But I would have expected a better responsiveness from a dual-core phone
Does anybody experience the same behavior? - is there any help/workaround/setting to enhance the phone's responsiveness.
Cheers!

On by default. Is there a way to disable encryption?
Also for those that use encryption can it be made to ask for a pin at boot but pattern lock for normal unlocking?
It is encrypted....
I didnt notice that. I wonder why?
Why do you want to disable encryption?
The Nexus 9 apparently uses a hardware-backed key store (based on ARM TrustZone technology), which is partly why its able to enable encryption without a passcode. It also seems to make use of ARMv8 AES instructions, which allows fast and energy-efficient crypto operations. Basically, there shouldn't be a performance or battery hit.
Been running CM10.2 JB Unofficial for a short while and liking it. I occasionally SSH into the phone (via SSHDroid) to do stuff at the command line ... recently it has become super-laggy, like I type stuff and it doesn't appear for a couple of seconds. I can't think of anything that's changed. Just for yucks, I changed the CPU governor to Performance so that it always runs at full clock speed. Didn't help, so I guess the problem has nothing to do with CPU speed. Wifi speed test from device seems okay, wifi is set to "keep on during sleep: always." I'm at a loss, since this came on seemingly out of nowhere, and the Android touch interface seems to be normally responsive. Help?
I have a Surface Pro 2 that runs Remix OS PC 3 well enough, it just doesn't sleep it very well. Based on some complaints from regular Linux distributions I figured out that the lid closed switch freaks out on wakeup. That can be taken care of easily enough with a
Code:
echo LID0 disabled > /proc/acpi/wakeup
Now 90% of the time the tablet wakes up correctly. That last 10% it still has problems. What happens, and this was the same as before adjusting LID0, is the screen comes on full brightness, then either turns off or freezes after a few seconds. Either way, a reboot is required to fix it. I can usually get to the debug terminal, but the graphical display is broken.
Another remaining issue is the wifi. Once it's working, it works well enough, except that the region stuff isn't set, so the driver doesn't enable 5ghz. On Ubuntu
Code:
modprobe mwifiex reg_alpha2=US
will get it working, but the region information doesn't appear to be in Remix, because that doesn't enable 5ghz, or produce the expected cfg80211 initialization messages. Any advice on setting wifi region in Remix?
Is there any init.d type mechanism I can tap into? I tried using kernel adiutor's init.d emulation, but despite toast messages suggesting it's working, I still have to manually disable LID0.

Click to collapse
Have a look for systemless-root; you can get an init.d emulation [su.d] with that.
Good to see you are going the right way regarding personal fixes i.e. find/fix the issue in linux then find a way to apply it to RemixOS
the issue is android does not support DFS channels other than that it works fine.
