Encryption?
Hi, will I be able to use the full device encryption with this ROM? Would the choice of Recovery and custom kernel affect this too? (Using Ext4)

Battery Percentage
Hi to all,
I am using the build 29 build of @Trafalgar Square. Everything is working fine but i have one issue and don't know it is related with the rom. My s3 battery is draining fast since i am using a new battery. I am trying to find solutions with Boeffla kernel, xposed framework and etc. I have noted that after my battery energy finished after plugged in and restart it shows approximately 35% - 40% energy. I used battery drainer to finish all the energy and in few minutes it goes to zero which i also verified when i plugged in while "power off".
I hope i can described it smoothly.
The summary is that what should i have to do for a stable battery percentage

First day i have installed some tools and added one google and two exchange email and a whatsapp account. (Sync and high accuracy location on)
Phone mostly couldn't go deep sleep during the all day. But next day everything works really great. %3 battery consumption per hour.
Note: Forgot to say that i changed kernel to Boeffla 4.0-alpha18 CM12-NG
Great job devs and thank you...:good:

Help for Bricked Phone
I was using Blisspop 4.0.3 and tried to install this unofficial cm 12.1. In cwm recovery it got stuck in the middle. When nothing happened for long i rebooted and went to recovery again. Can anyone provide me pit, csc, pda etc all files so that i can flash with odin and get my phone back to life.
Thanks in advance

Why not install a stock TW rom and start from fresh? Flashing pit etc. can only get you in more trouble. I did that yesterday. Just my two cents. Oh and use TWRP, better than CM.

Getting a message on the iconpanel which says "no simcard". When i check the upper right corner, i have signal and 3g, and its working. Visual bugg?

Check your PM.

Charged battery to 100%. Charging cable stayed at phone. Installed alot of apps after that. Screen says battery is still 100% in the upper right corner. When you disconnect the charging cable, it drops instantly to 97%. Yesterday i had a instant drop to 91% after heavy use, after i disconnected the charging cable.
- Tried an other Theme(default theme), stays the same.
- Tried with new battery and old battery, stays the same.
The charging goes just fine, so battery or inside battery chip isnt faulty.
edit: Does this Cyanogenmod version tickle charge after its fast charged to 100%? I was watching the charge process, but every time when it charged to 100%, it seems it stopped charging or not charging enough after, and losing a few % over night. I had never had this with my old 4.3 version.

Battery
Hi, i have a question about battery.
This is my first custom ROM i always used original ROM.
I charge my battery to 100% and day after without using my telephone battery was about 97% and this is nice [Settings - Battery showing my standby mode about 12 days] but then i use my telephone ~5 minutes [i check sms and calls] battery going down about 3-4% [93%]. This is normal or something is wrong? For me this is fast.
WiFi is OFF, Location is OFF, Internet is OFF, Screen brightness is 30% and i dont use extra apps like FB, Twitter and other.
Sorry for my english and thanks for help.

I have the same Jaro. Think its normal.

Maybe author of ROM confirm us this situation. Will be nice.
EDIT: It's strange. I turn on wifi and check my mails, it was about 3 minutes and battery going down 2%.... it's to fast for me...

Depends what i am running, but it drains pretty fast. How can i what is draining?

[PROBLEM]Strange problems with my GS2 XWLS8 ...

I am experiencing various problems that seem quite strange.
When I plug my charger into my phone, nothing happens.
Usually I'd get the charging tone instantly, but it can take upto 5mins until registering the charge now. Its also the same with USB connection to pc/laptop/console.
Whats worse is that when I remove it from charge/usb , the galaxy still displays the charging icon or 'connected as media device' stays in my notification bar?
Only until I reboot it goes back to normal but most of the time I can't even get to boot animation because it just shows the charging screen!
I charge my phone every night to 100%. If I turn my phone off, then back on, it'll either show me the charging boot screen symbol - or when I do manage to boot up successfully my battery drops MASSIVELY. It was 49% earlier, I rebooted and I had 8% left!
Im worried that my connecter may be damaged also as I dropped my phone whilst on charge and bent the charge port (not the phone port)... but there is another issue which isnt related to my battery which is my brightness/display problem.
If I let my phone screen turn off itself it turns off but then comes back on and stays on until i lock it manually using power?
If I cannot get this problem sorted do you think a wipe and re-flash would rid me of these annoyances?
Thanks!

Hey,
it listen like a battery probably, but u can first check if it's system related when u do a factory reset (BACKUP before).
If this won't help, try to change battery (maybe a friend have same phone).

kindly provide details on ROM/kernel etc in order for other members to help you out.
First you need to see what is eating you battery. though you have other issues. You can try reflashing the firmware with fullwip/factory reset.
1. install cpu spy and see whether the device is going to deep sleep properly. if not try the following. enable aeroplane mode, power-off, power-on, disable aeroplane mode.
2. you can install BBS and GSam battery monitor to see which application is consuming more battery
3. dont install new apps, monitor the device after flashing & installing above mentioned apps.

The sudden changes in the graph show when I reboot my phone.
One thing i haven't tried is a full wipe, which is what I intend to do now.
I will report back to post a report.
Thanks for the help. Much appreciated

[Q] Problems with Omega Rom for Galaxy S3 I9300 v51 Android 4.3

Hi,
I am facing some of the problems with Omega ROM v51 and am not sure if something is wrong from my end or internal ROM problem.
I installed it on v49 without a full wipe on my samsung galaxy sIII 9300.
Problems I am facing till now:
-----------------------------------------
1. there is a huge lag between pressing the wake up button and the screen coming up(sometime 1 sec if i am using it after 5 min, sometimes upto 3-5 sec if i am using it after a while). Sometime it is stuck(2 times). For 1 minute the screen doesn't come. I pressed the home button and all the buttons one after another to check, but got no response.
2. Battery is draining extremely fast
In 5 hr 24 mins it came down to 43% from fully charged. In that span i surfed internet for 30 min in 2g only, whatzapp 5 min, facebook 5 min nothing else..no call, no game nothing...
screen:52% 1hr 12 min
android os: 22%
android system 5%
Cell standby 5%
device idle 4%
like this....
I need to calibrate it once before I can make a final verdict on battery performance..
3. The os stucks very often while browsing, or may b its just the crome, not seen this characteristic in earlier versions. till now nt explored all the other apps.
All basic features like call, 3g wifi etc are working fine.
Please any expert advice on this. Any thing needed to be done from my end?
Regards,
Dhruv
Reads as a bad flash .
See Omega users instructions .
But I did what was mentioned in:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47278125&postcount=62632"
In the "Please read the following before flashing v51:" section
And I do not understand your comment. Can you elaborate? I mean what is the meaning of bad flash? I am asking because everything else is running perfectly fine functionally, performance however is not checked for every app.
Please you provide the link for what you mention as 'bad flash'.

Sorry but I think the file is just fine and I do read the ROM thread before posting. Anyways I solved the first and the third problem with yank555 kernel v4.0+
The first problem is gone, Battery I am still calibrating, Its bad but its like v49 bad i suppose.
I am using Greenify, Juice Defender to improve my battery performance, lets see how much I can tune it... It take sometime to stabilize with the new ROM I suppose. If you have any inputs reg battery improvements please share.
And thanks for helping
As you will notice there are problems with the rom.
People say that it does not matter if you do a clean flash or not.
Omega announced they will wait for a new 4.3 version in order to fix the problems
how to fix this?

problem with samsung key board
Hello,
First I must congratulate you for the excellent rom, far far better than the leaked unofficial and official JB 4.3 rom. Thank you very much
I have installed this rom in my galaxy s3 19300 successfully, and I am satisfied with all its performance. The only problem for me is the samsung keyboard which I downloaded from omega file center, which has all the 4 languages which I wanted. I selected them in the setting and then as per the tutorials , languages can be changed by swiping the fingers over the space bar. But such option is not there as well as no globe icon also seen.
If you want another language, go back to setting , and select only that language, then it will come. I tried to unistall and reinstall the key board as well as uninstalled all other key boards. everything failed. Can you help me?
Thanking You

[ROM][n7100][UNOFFICIAL][KTU84Q][4.4.4][2014-10-23] AOKP Kitkat Nightlies

Hello there,
I've been building AOKP Kitkat-Images for a while and thought I might share them with you.
As always flash the ROM first, then gapps and don't forget to do a factory reset.
No Guarantees but for me it works like a charm, see screenshots below.

thank you
can you comment on the stability and the performance .
most the 4.4.2 roms have issues with camera and bluetooth in car .
hows aokp in this department ?
Hey,
first let me say thanks for your interest and yeah, I've tried nearly all of them but on AOKP I haven't noticed the issue with the camera so far and I've been using it for about a week now.
On a previous build the UI crashed after a while but that hasn't happened after the build on the 1st anymore, interactions are very fluent and there is no noticable lag. As to how bluetooth in a car works I can't say much, for music I myself use an Anker bluetooth 4.0 headset and that works fine. Hope that info helped.
Nice to see a new one for our n7100. I'll try it later. Thanks.

I'll give it a try, thanks. Just in case... what exactly gapps do you use? A link would be of help. Have you tried photosphere?
No, I haven't tried it but I use the minimal package by ParanoidAndroid
Mh. Camera works and proximity sensor works
I just don't like so much the 240dpi interface, but i can live with that
With an app like Root Explorer you could edit
Code:
/system/build.prop
and change
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=210
to 320 again
Works like a charm
I'll try as my daily driver, i hope good results about the battery.
Keep this ROM updated
Thx this is great, is there an option to change the position of the killall button in recents ?

Aha! It's mini and modular in the same time. So, one just needs to add the keyboard and photosphere modules for full Monty or the oposite of that, depending on translation... Good. Thanks.

A noob question... What recovery are you using? I've downloaded the ROM twice, still an error on flashing. I'm still on a very old TRWP.
Ok....here comes the ISSUES POST!
1) Messages app is broken. It sends two same SMS every time i send something. No problems with Hangouts SMS app.
2) Battery life is certainly a way from better. Auto brightness, 2 hours of device on (with 26 minutes screen time) ---> 86% battery. GPS off, rotate off, HSPA enabled, Wi-Fi off.

You have to update to the latest version of TWRP then to flash Android 4.4.

Oh, I've just noticed the SMS-issue and will check for a solution tomorrow and the next thing might be a bit more complex but I do get like 2-3% per hour on standby and then a reasonable drain during normal usage, except for the middle part in the screenshot where I was playing GTA3 but I'll make some tests to see if I can improve on that.

Thanks for the first issue and dont worry for the second, i just noticed that in the last hour i was in a bad signal area, so the phone drained faster. Now seems better.
OK, first impressions.
7 hours on battery at night while doing nothing - 5% of the battery. WiFi is on, push Exchange is on. Good, it's about the same as PACMAN Android 4.3.1.
Tried a few apps. The camera, email, calendar, Copilot, VideoReg, Acroread, linux terminal with SSH, AdAway, Documents To Go, plus usual Google stuff seem to work, which is an improvement over PACMAN where VideoReg and a few other car DVRs couldn't access GPS. Yet to try everything else...
Now, what doesn't work.
SMS Backup runs, but the restored SMS messages do not appear in the Messages app. How to transfer my old messages here?
SMS duplicates messages when sending.
I can't find an option to add "enter" key to SMS keyboard. Where is it?
Do not install the gapps keyboard module! It has only numbers in the long press register, and they are written in an unreadable colour (black on dark grey). The default ROM keyboard is by far better!
Yet to try Bluetooth in the car. Update: tried, it worked, both calling and music!
Not bad for the first release!
i had to switch to Philz recovery from tra 2.6.3.1 Because i had aokp booting logo running forever.... Before changing the recovery i change bootloader as a stupid and putted the mj5 with warranty bit stuff sinceramente i thought it was bootloader fault... And that was not the case

Booting forever - you did not factory reset the device. Press 3 buttons, get back into Recovery, reset the data+cache+dalvik, then reboot.

Excesive battery drain on Existenz 3.5 due to... whatsapp?

My Z2's battery is draining really, REALLY fast. In a normal day I only use it to check whatsapp sometimes and mostly to hear some music.
I have Existenz 3.5 installed on my phone and I thought it might be rom related issue so I clean install a couple of times and nothing happened. Then, I checked on the battery stats and saw that the Whatsapp was the app that was consuming the most amount of battery (30%) then the Google Play Music (around 9%) and so on... So I decided to greenify Whatsapp... Still the same thing.
While all this happened I should say that auto sync was disabled, I was using 2G, the minimun brightness and barely turn my screen on.
After all this happened I decided to put the phone into Android's battery saving mode, still nothing happened. I don't now what to do, I also already calibrated my battery.
Is this soft-hard ware related problem? What should I do?
P.S.
I'll post the screen capture as soon as my phone wakes off it's dream.
How old is your phone?
Try to uninstall whatsup (or freeze) for one day and check the results.

Sound like the mobile radio active bug. Go to Settings -> Power Management -> Battery Usage and have a look at whatsapp. Does it look like my image below (note mobile radio active for hours)? If so, it's the mobile radio active bug and it's an android bug. You'll need to kill whatsapp or toggle mobile data on and off.

I bought my phone in February so I guess it's not that old. I already froze WhatsApp on Greenify.
Yes, the bat stats look like that, radio usage is waaaaaay big. But that workaround haven't helped me since I've been toggling it a couple of times per day (I go to college then to my home)
Something weird is that yesterday when I was at work sometimes I started to feel the heat on my leg and then I take out my phone and put it on my face, so I can now the temp better, and it was hot. I don't like that because I'm only listening music, c'mon
Thanks for the help.
P.S.
If there's a bad batch of Z2s, could you tell me the name so I can compare it to mine?

So, the only possible solution is going back to KitKat?

There's a Xposed module that may fix the problem for some people, you could try that.
Or turn mobile data off when you're not using it. And greenify doesn't kill an app or helping this issue at all it needs to be forced stopped.
Finally the heat could be related to this issue. The problem is that the phone keeps powering the antenna when it shouldn't be.

If you observed in first start in Lollipop rom strongly heated and first run it takes a lot of time but in kit kat based rom phone isn't heated stronly and first run loading very fast. From this we can see lollipop battery drain

I too had that problem. Try charging it too full and using battery callibrator callibrate it. Do a complete charge. U'll face severe drain after the first cycle of callibration. Then you'll get good battery life

Question Zenfone 9 Low SoT

Is it me or my SoT is low, I've been trying out the different modes, I even dialed the clocks down and I'm running on durable, today using mainly Instagram I got 4hours

What's it say in the System's battery menu? I'm getting 6-11hr SOT depending on the day

This looks low to me or maybe I can't read graphs
Either Instagram or messenger seem to block your phone from going into sleep.
Do you close these two in recent apps menu? If not you could try that...
I'm not using both of these apps so I can't test.

I use AccuBattery and routinely get ~8%/hr screen on rate and 0.8%/hr screen off rate. It looks like something is running in the background (as einfachgaer guesses with Instagram and Messenger). If doing as he suggests doesn't seem to help, you might want to consider going into app info and modifying the data and battery settings for each app. To do that, press and hold on the icons until the menu pops up, then select App Info. From there, you should see Data Settings and Battery Settings; open Data Settings and select the option to prevent it from using background data, then open Battery Settings and select Restricted. Finally, select the Force Stop button for both.
Hopefully it gets resolved soon!

I had a call in messenger using the camera so the battery drain is probably from that, also Instagram I've been using it a lot with watching reels. I restricted both apps and further dialed the clocks
Let's see how it goes

For some reason Accu battery couldn't measure my health after 5 charges in fact I after 10-12 of charging it from 5-10% to 90 it couldn't asses the health it kept saying it didn't detect any charges below the 15% threshold, I've put the clocks even further as I replied to @einfachgaer now my screen on is 13% discharge and 1.20% during screen off. Tomorrow I'll post the results going to use it today see how it fares
Update the is is my current SoT after whole day of heavy use of Instagram scrolling through reels mainly and a video call.
I feel like it could be at least 6 hours due me under clocking the CPU quite a bit and running in durable mode, but with 120hz. Anyone want to share their SoT?
Something's wrong with your setup, my phone is completely stock , and from 80% charge i have it on 30 after 12+ hours of use and 4+ hours of SoT . I will try to get more precise data
Light use with WhatsApp and browser mainly. Wifi (90%), 4G (10%) and brightness to 70-80%
Here's my yesterday stats
I'm on 32.2040.2040.23 with clean slate installed plus dialed down clocks it's feels like I'm having twice as less battery than it should be, screen on drain is 15%
Something is definitely wrong with your device not going into proper deep sleep.
Yesterday I installed Accubattery, so not much data, but it should be enough to show that the battery consumption is very different.

I use Sleep Cycle during my sleep, but I use the phone charger not to lose any battery so this couldn't be the reason, another app is YourHour which tracks my usage, going to remove it and redo the tests, also went to 90hz instead of 120hz. If this continues I will do a clean install on the whole phone. Kind of sad because I love the size of this phone and the feel it had, I am waiting for the gcam update so the photo quality comes even more.
Yeah, I got a good 9hr SOT on a medium use day while bone stock. Something's definitely wrong with your device.
Just took the plunge and bl unlocked so I'll let you know how much the kernels do.
Quick update: I fully cleaned the device and found out that wallpaper engine was running in the background without stopping and not reporting for some reason on the battery stats, also for some reason the wallpaper I was using wasn't running as pre-rendered but high quality preset, maybe something happened when I transferred my data from my Zenfone 6, battery seems to be way better now will post a report probably tomorrow.

Hope you got better results. This is my phone after a typical workday, so you definitely have a hardware issue if resetting didn't fix it.

Well this are my stats since yesterday I decided to use a lot of Instagram to check how much would it drain, plus having two video call for a total of 40mins. And the second screenshot is from couple of days ago honestly I feel like I should ask for a replacement or my expectations are way higher than they should be
Update on this once again I find it weird that I lose 30% of my battery with screen off, could someone post their display off stats?
This guy on reddit definitely has a different experience than you

im also getting highish usage compared to others, wonder what the cause might be. Were you able to fix it?
