Mobile internet is blocking - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all
I have a SGS 6 Edge, 32G, Gold from juin 2015.
Since I bought this phone I had problems with the mobile datas.
The mobile datas are freezing after 2 minutes of usage. The internet browser is not working anymore.
To unlock the situation I have to restart the device or to deactivate and than activate again the mobile datas.
It is a very bad situation, for example if you want to write a email or to order something in a online store... all your datas are lost.
I have send the mobile phone to service , they have changed the operation system but I have the same problem.
On 4G usage I don’t find this problem very often. But ib H or H+ operations the device cannot be used in with mobile datas on.
Somebody have this kind of problems? Any recommendation?
Thx,

[Q] Exchange security problem - Help

Hello all,
This is my first android phone, but my brother have a HTC Desire for some months and I have familiarized with android.
Have used the SGSII for 1 month now and all is going great except for the batery OS usage, but no big deal there, but since yesterday I'm having a problem with my exchange connection. Everytime I go to the email app it try's to connect and it says invalid username/account and I enter the correct data and it always say the same thing!
This problem only happens while using 3G data connectivity, because in wireless mode it works fine and I receive/send emails. In 3G it also receive data in other apps like google maps, browser etc. but it looks like in the email app for exchange it's not connecting while using 3g connection!
Anyone knows what could be happening and what can I do to solve this problem?
Thanks

Cellular Network x Wifi Problem

Hi guys.
I own a HTC Ultimate (HTC Titan here in Brazil) and I'm suffering for something that bothered me before in the Windows Mobile 'age'.
As the major users of smartphones, I keep my cellular connection always on and at home, or other places, I turn on my WIFI.
What happened is that, for some reason, the applications after a while stop using the WIFI connection. I know that because I often use EDGE instead 3D.
If I turn off the Cellular network, everything keeps running smooth.
Is anyone having the same behavior? I didn't see this in my HD7, as far as I remember.
Regards,
Cris

yep, I'm in.
For some reason, apps ( and browser) use 3G over wireless! I hate it and switch data to off :|
Will contact HTC to check soon.
The same for me ! I need to turn off cellular data to use wifi connection too often. I don't like it.
Sent from my TITAN X310e using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

The Facebook is the champion. If I turn on Wifi and then open it, it will use the Wifi. If I got back and return to the App.. no more Wifi, only Cellular network.
This is the same thing on Windows Mobile. Microsoft should learn something from the competitor where they just keep one network running at a time!
What bothers me is that I don't remember this occuring in my HD7. Will put my SIM on it and try to see what happens.

Keep us updated please on HTC's reply. My 3G consumption is soaring every day
Evidence
I got an evidence yesterday that the OS is using Cellular Data while WiFi is on.
I used all my bandwidth on my plan, so Vivo as it's customers to keep a low speed or pay by MB used. This is done through the browser.
So I found that I was using the Cellular data while wifi is on when I opened the browser and receive the page from vivo asking me to choose wherever I wanna do use.
I don't know why MS still thinking that we wanna to shutdown thinks on phone to be able to use it properly. Why not implement like the others platforms where the OS just keep 1 way to connect to internet?
Amazing how they don't know how to advertise the product but know how to take away some pleasure to use the platform.
Hope they fix this in Apollo or a new OTA update. It's about time to show the users that indeed the phone can be updated OTA.

I do remember having this problem on my Windows Mobile but i have NEVER faced it with Windows Phone 7 on my Omnia 7! This is something related to HTC not Microsoft.
Quick Heads up, this is my message to HTC.
NOTE: HTC TITAN is not available on the device list, i chose the RADAR as it the one that is close to it. THIS PROBLEM IS RELATED TO HTC TITAN WINDOWS PHONE 7.5.
Dear Support,
Me and a lot of others who bought the HTC Titan Windows Phone 7.5 are facing a strange problem with 3G and WiFi.
For some reason, even when im connected to WiFi with internet connectivity the phone uses the Data Services from the Mobile Operator!
The fix is simple, go to settings > Mobile Network > Disable Data.
but it is actually not a solution.
This bug doesnt happen all the time, sometime traffic goes into WiFi as it should and suddenly it stopps and starts going thorugh the Cellular network!
I would love to know the reasons behind this issue (Not only me who is having it) and how to fix it (if we can do our selves).
If it is not possible to fix by my self, when HTC is going to release a fix?
Kindly note that this is NOT a Windows Phone 7.5 problem as i DO own a Samsung Omnia 7 with OS 7.5 and i dont face this problem.
Your quick reply is highly appreceated

Take a look at this: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/howto/wp7/start/connecting-how-and-when.aspx
"Your phone will typically choose a Wi-Fi connection over a cellular data connection when they're both available."
I'm afraid of this "typically". In my opinion, the correct way is to choose Wifi OR Cellular Data. One network at a time.
This week I will try to run some 'tests' on my HD7. I really don't remember having to switch of the celullar data to use correctly the wifi.
Keep us updated.

HTC Update
It looks like HTC has found the problem and is delivering an update for Titan. Can anyone confirm this?
Unfortunatly I own a Ultimate (Titan here in Brazil) and probably will take longer to Vivo test and delivery things =(
There is an update for the Titan, but I don't know if this includes the fix you are talking about, or if there will be another update?

Give full information dont expect use to guess .

I recived the phone saying that if I have problem with the setting text AXTIVE TO 2020 o2 service. Ok I have done it and I got wap on it but after using it for 15 min wap gone. I had to turn off and in the phone. At home I had a wifi connection after 20 min it has gone. Then I got angry I have done a factory reset for s2 (I got it for the phone from 02) and after I didn't have wap so I had to text ACTIVE to 02 and had wap but having same problem. So I have questioned my self does this phone has other problem is well? How can I check it? How can I resolve this problem.
Is english your native language? I am still not fully understanding what the problem is...
Are you having issues connecting to your wifi at home, school, or work?
Are you having cellular data issues?
Im also not familiar with what texting "Active" to 02 is about. Im sorry but you really need to calm down a little, understand that we can and will try to help but you really have to give us a more detailed look into what is going on.
Remember, we are not there, we do not see what you see, hear what you hear, or know what you know. you have to tell us.
English clearly isn't his native language.
But, what he is trying to say is that he seems to having connectivity issues with both wifi at home and when connected to mobile data. When he texts "ACTIVE" to the 02 help line number, it restores his connection but only for around 15 minutes before it drops off again.
As for the problem, I have no idea. I would return the phone to 02 and ask for a replacement.
Yes I'm Hungarian. what I tried to say is that I am able to use the wap net work and wifi but it keep droping me out from the service. So after 15/20min restart he phone and again I have internet. I don't know why? AlsoI don't know if there is any other problem on the phone can I get a program what is run a test on it and repair the problems?
Not sure what your problem is, but if you have the mobile data connection active (the signal bars at the top of the screen show a G or 3G or H or E) and then switch on WiFi. If WiFi makes a connection to a wireless device, then the phone temporally disables the mobile data connection. If you disconnect your WiFi connection, then the mobile data connection becomes active again.
Even if the WiFi has connection to a wireless device, the device may not let them have access to the internet. So even though you have mobile data connection on, you won't be able to connect to the internet.
Switch off the WiFi and just test the mobile data connection. If that is fine, then you need to look at what the WiFi is connecting to. If it is not fine, then you need to find the mobile data connection settings for you phone network.

mobile data is not working on gear SIM number after the last update.

After last update I can't use gear sim number mobile data anymore. It's very important for me because i lost remote conection while i'm out and my mobile phone is left at home. When i'm on Wifi or nearby the phone I can establish conection through bluetooth and have a internenet but as a standalone device NO internet!Anybody else faces this experience after the last update?
I have exactly the same problem and can not find any solution. Also tried to downgrade to previous firmware version, but it is still the same. Access point settings are checked to be correct. It is funny that Gear S seems like connected to mobile data by looking at the status bar indicator, but no application have access to internet. It even logs some small amounts of data communication under data usage. Has anyone seen success with this issue?

Android phone connecting to internet through mobile data even with Cellular Data off?

Greetings,
I own a OnePlus 5T (128GB) and I am running stock firmware (OxygenOS 5.1.7), rooted and bootloader unlocked. I traveled to a country for which I have a local SIM for, but didn't have (yet) any data plan. What I did to prevent unexpected charges was disable mobile data immediately (I did the same to my wife's phone, which is on the same ISP), so that I could receive phone calls and SMS, but I won't use internet and obviously I won't make phone calls or send SMS.
What happened next is that my phone connected for 0 seconds to the internet every day at a random time during the day, triggering a 6€ expense for 10 days.
I searched through the data usage log to see if any app used internet, but it was empty.
Interestingly, my wife didn't get any charge, so I presume that the configuration I used to prevent access to mobile data was correct (it displayed an X instead of 4G+ over the chart showing the mobile signal strength).
What I'd like to discover is what caused the charges (I did get a refund since those connections lasted 0 seconds each), to prevent this from happening again. However, the phone has been completely unhelpful. I do have a data plan now, in case it's needed to perform some tests.
My best guess so far is AFWall+, it's the only application I can picture bypassing the "cellular data off" option. Those connections looked like DNS connections also, due to how short-lived were.
Any suggestion over how to diagnose this?
Thanks for your help.
