Hello everyone! I've been checking a lot on internet about what is happening to my S3 and after trying so many things I seriously ran out of ideas of what to do. I hope someone can help as I am really desperate. So far it was working perfectly but after last software update, when I am going to put the pattern to unblock the phone and use it, its not responding. Some times, not many really, after few attempts its working again but after gets block again i am having the same problem.
I'm not blaming the update cos i couldn't find anyone with the same problem. The only thing I did is that I tried to unlock it using Odin and Voodoo Galaxy SIII Unlock but I couldn´t after doing all the proccess (root included) so I used SuperSU to unroot it and I did again the unlock with a network code that a friend gave me, which shouldn't be a problem as, let's say, its a cleanest way to do it. I don't know, as I said I'm totally out of ideas and lost of what to do but its a nightmare try to use your phone and the tactile screen is not responding. Any ideas?
Thanks in advanced!
No ideas at all or suggestions?
Well, after all i have fixed it without any of this "genius" around here. The firmware downloaded from this website it didn't work properly and it was giving me this issue on my phone. I've installed a stock firmware reseting the flash counter and now its working without that problem any more. Thank you for aaalll your help!
Hello, This is my first Post on XDA so please help me to familiarize myself with rules and procedures and I apologize if I break any in any way.
Okay, So My phone (SM-G900T) is about 5 months old. I bought it in August, Without insurance (Terrible Idea), and now it is having problems. In the amount of time I've had it, I rooted it in mid to late September and used only an app called Xmod for a game. I then started using greenify, solid explorer and eventually used Xposed installer to try a few Xposed modules. Specifically I used, the YouTube adaway, Rich Pandora notification and that's about it. I also later installed Samsung Tools to backup my IMEI and important partitions.
A few days ago my phone randomly rebooted in the middle of a YouTube video so I let it reboot, but it rebooted again, and again, and again. I pulled the battery and turned it back on but the same problem persisted. I couldn't do anything to fix it so I just decided to factory reset the device through the stock recovery. Also, I did not install any custom roms or anything either. The factory reset did nothing. Now when I was in setup, everything force closed, froze and rebooted, repeatedly. So I found the original firmware that my phone came with and flashed it to my phone through Odin because I literally had no hope of what to do anymore. The problem lessened so I didn't install all my apps and overload the device as it would reboot when the RAM would get pretty full or too many things were running simultaneously in the background or foreground. The problem got a little worse so I factory reset one more time and it lessened again but now it came back and factory Resetting isn't lessening the problem. Now it just force closes a bunch of stuff and freezes and reboots into a bootloop midway through initial setup. I am desperate at this point right now and I need help from you guys. I don't have warranty because I rooted and I made the Extremely stupid decision of not getting insurance. So please can anyone help me out? I will be eternally grateful if you can help me turn this $609 brick into a phone again.
I will try to check this thread daily, but I go to school and I may not respond immediately, so please understand.

Do you have SD card installed? If you do try taking it out and leave out or replace with another SdCard. Then flash the original stock firmware as you said you did before through (odin!) Then if that dont work try kias3 and use the emergency firmware recovery tool. Before you do any of this make sure you factory reset through stock recovery if possible.

Have you tried this tool? I had the same issue with my phone and reinstalled firmware and stock recovery through this tool and it stopped. If none of these tips work id say your phone may be borked or have faulty hardware. Take a look here as welll. Hope you can get your phone back to normal. I can understand what you're going through, like i said i had same issue with mine and mine has seems to be fine as of now. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2721146 . GOOD LUCK

Okay, so I'm resetting it back to stock firmware through Odin as we speak. And yes, I had an SD card and have already taken it out and left it out and reset but still the problem has persisted, I will definitely try the solution you just mentioned, here I go. And thank you for replying...
Edit:
Hold on, which do you want me to try first? kias3(can you please link it if possible) with emergency firmware recovery tool? OR the Unified Android Toolkit?
Also... I don't exactly know how to use the toolkit, can you verify the steps to take to use the toolkit properly if I should use this solution? I'm sorry but I'm not very advanced at Android development, just intermediately experienced I suppose...

Try kies first that dont work try toolkit. Just Google how to use the toolkit it's pretty self explanatory but I don't think you'll need to use the tool kit anyways. http://www.sammobile.com/kies/

okay, I tried resetting it using Kies3 but the device was not recognized so I had to find a different way because the guide on how to use Kies advised using Odin if Kies didn't recognize your phone. I don't have a code either, So I tried reflashing the stock firmware through Odin and it started up, froze and went into what I presume to be a bootloop as it is stuck on the T-Mobile splash screen with the notification light pulsing continuously. Did I also mention where my phone says Knox warranty void 0x1 there is another statement that says "Counter: 4" or something like that, while I am in download mode, does this have any significance? but yeah, other that Kies and Odin, I'm not sure if the android toolkit will help, because it's basically doing that same thing as I am with Odin, just more automated... Or am I wrong?
but as far as I know, that toolkit is literally the last option I have left, I guess I'll be trying that out tomorrow, with option 10 I believe where it says "10. Download, Extract + Flash Stock Firmware via Odin" but I'm not sure what ADB mode means... I can't really boot up the device so I don't know if that applies
Also, on a side note, how much do you think this will cost if I were to send the phone to Samsung and pay for repairs out of pocket, and do you think they could even repair it at all?
You know what... Do you think if I somehow installed CM12 on the device that the problem would fix itself? Because to me it seems like it's the Samsung software itself that is causing all this trouble along with a few Google apps. Now how would I root it and flash CM12 if it won't boot up fully...
Not sure if this would brick my phone either, let me know if it would if I tried to root through Odin and try to install CM12 through CWM recovery or something
Just throwing ideas, hoping this thread doesn't die before my problem is solved
Also, does geeksquad repair Samsung phones one time for a low fee if you've voided warranty?? If so then this could possibly be my final solution.
Also Never EVER buying a Samsung device again, they just aren't what they used to be back in the day, the other OEMs have caught up and left Samsung and their revenue in the dust...

I disagree with this completely. Very few other handsets can hold a candle to the S5 or the Note 4. I don't know of anybody that has the problems you are describing with their phones without a hardware issue of some type or bad app. The Samsung software runs perfectly on millions of devices without the issues you're having. Therefore it's probably a bad app you've gotten a hold of, or you have a bad phone. CM12 will only introduce more issues and probably won't solve anything.
A stripped down custom rom might be a good bet because you can then start adding your apps back to find out where the issue is, or if it still has the same issues then it almost guarantees that there is some kind of a hardware issue.
Hi Guys!
So I have an s6 edge I've gone through hell and back with. Last time when my phone wasn't working because I dropped it in water, I flashed it with a AP someone advised me to do, which set off KNOX, and honestly, I don't really care. This phone is out of warranty and even if it was still in, I'd have to send it to Malaysia to get fixed, which is a no lol.
So after I got the phone working, I removed the root and flashed it back with the stock stuff using smart switch. All of a sudden, the wifi is not working. It will not toggle on and is stuck on the "turning on..." state. I looked everywhere for a solution and the only one I cannot try (i've hard reset and everything like 8 times) because the phone is not rooted is going into the data folder and changing the wifi file type from .conf to something else, or entirely deleting the file from that folder. I've never fully rooted a phone. Does anyone have step by step information on how to do that? I do have Odin, and mildly know how to use it. I just don't know which file to use or how to do it.
Oh, also, my build # is different from most, which is g925fxxs4dpga. I don't think there are roots out there for this right? If there isn't, what do I do? I only need to root to have access to that folder.
Once again, KNOX is not a concern for me! You guys always help me out and thank you :fingers-crossed:

Oh, water damage is long gone lol. I did put it in rice, but since the phone was on when it was dropped, it wouldn't turn off for a few minutes, which i'm sure did super damage. When i booted it up 3 days later, firmware was having issues. Did NOT know i was going to trip the KNOX counter when I followed someone else's instructions but hey, it's whatever. Damage is already done, just trying to live with it til i can replace the motherboard. also, i believe 6.0.1 but i was messing around with rooting and did it successfully but when I change the file in data/misc/wifi/wap... from conf to bak, nothing happens. the file renames itself. so i flashed back to stock because my phone started acting wacky and now when i try and software update, it tells me to use smart switch due to my phone being updated unauthorized or something and when i plug it into smart switch, i don't see anything telling me that it needs to be updated. idk man. i'm about to throw the phone in the garbage at this point.
is it the KNOX counter that's tripping that update message? I know you can't reset KNOX but ****. i just wanna update now lol

If you just want to root your phone use cf autoroot in the link above.
If you want to fix wifi flashing stock firmware should deffinately fix it! Unless the antenna was badly damaged by the water stock firmware will fix it
So I posted the following on a few other places
(please expand)
I am in desperate need of help . Yesterday, I woke up and went on my phone and it was acting strange. It was saying that apps that I wasn't using had stopped working or something like that, which was pretty weird, so I decided to restart it. However, when I tried to turn it on again, it got to the carrier screen (I have AT&T) it didn't do anything after. It just stayed on that screen and vibrated in a pattern. I was able to hold home + power + volume down to restart it, and I was able to get to the recovery options screen. I tried clearing the cache and all the data, but no luck. I tried flashing the stock firmware but I couldn't find anything new enough. I had rooted my phone about 5 days earlier, but it had worked perfectly fine up until yesterday. I tried everything I could think of and find online. I recently called AT&T up and they're sending me a new phone, but I have to send my phone to them, and I feel almost certain that they'll find that I've been messing with it. Whether it's the giant lock with the word "Custom" above it, or something in the files. I have 10 days to send it in to them and I need a way to either fix my phone, or wipe ALL of my phone's data before then, but I feel like completely wiping everything might void the warranty as well. I'm not even sure that the root caused the problem.
I do have friends who have the same phone as me, would it be possible to somehow get the most recent firmware off of one of their phones and get it on to mine? I have the G930A and I couldn't find firmware recent enough for my device. I have read A LOT about this issue in the past day and I vaguely remember something about being able to get someone at Best Buy or some other store to flash the most recent firmware onto the phone? Is something like that possible?
Please help, I can't afford the $600+ if it doesn't pass. Any and all ideas are welcomed. Thanks .
After reading some stuff here, I have found out that I can somehow make a backup of the stock firmware. I wouldn't actually be using my phone to make the backup since I don't actually have the stock firmware. I wouldn't be using my phone to make the backup, I have friends with the same phone and carrier. All I need is direction on how to do it. I have a Galaxy S7 (not the bomb edition) and my carrier is AT&T, although I'm not sure that's needed.

sammobile.com doesn't have G930A which I need. I've been finding it from other places but none of them have worked so far.
Hello. I have a 2012 Samsung Tab 2 that was branded for ATT and the model number is SGH 1497. It has been in a drawer for a year and I never use it but I thought I would experiment with it and try to install the Marshmellow Rom even though I am a noob at this stuff. My first problem was that I saw nothing for my version SGH 1497 but I did read on a forum that the Rom 5113 would work for that model. After going through a lot of websites I finally found one that seemed pretty easy and the root process went perfectly for me, no issues at all. I then followed instructions and downloaded the needed files and moved them onto my tablet and all was going well. I was then instructed to boot into recovery mode and that is where my troubles started. I believe it said to hold power and volume down key. Recovery mode would pop onto the screen but then vanish and it would never go into it. So I did more reading and someone had posted that I needed to download the toolkit and re-install a new recovery mode. So I did that just fine and still the same thing happened. I then tried 2-3 more of the other recovery modes and the same thing happened. At that time the tablet would still boot normally. So then I did something else and now my tablet wont turn on anymore. If I push power enough times the Samsung logo will pop onto the screen and then it goes away and that's it. It will turn on to download mode but that is it. Nothing else. Im not upset because I knew this could happen but I surely should have came here first. Is there anything I can do to get this thing back working again or is it hopeless??
Thank you for any help and advice.
Thomas
I was able to fix it by finding the exact same firmware that ATT put on this tablet and then using Odin to flash it. Works fine and is rooted.
Does anyone know of a custom rom that will work on this model sgh 1497??
Thanks.
