Hi. chentan, I think I have the same problem. I am trying to get back to my older version firmware. What I did was hold volume up, power button and home button, go to the recovery mode, click the wipe cache, wipe data, recovery system and then factory rest. But when after the restart, it's still the new version, did not go back to the older version. What I should do now? Thanks

Dude!!!!..factory reset only removes user apps, data and settings i.e. extraneous data..So since when you have updated your firmware you have overwritten your base ROM.So when you are factory resetting you wont get back your previous ROM.So if you need your previous ROM go to intratech's thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) and download it and flash it through Odin.

um.. I realized the problem now. all my data has gone. I am quite a newb for smartphone. I went to the intratech's thread before, and flashed to 2.3.5 firmware through Odin. But KIES doesn't support update after I flashed to 2.3.5, besides the firmware I flashed is not stable, that's why I want to recovery to original firmware. I downloaded the official Australia Vodafone firmware, but there are 8 files, and I don't know how to flash back with these files. Can you please help me? I've taken a screenshot of these files. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
well, i'm beginner in all the android custom stuff but yesterday, I wanted to try jelly bean on my galaxy tab 10.1 wifi version.
So I've installed a rom custom with this tuto androidauthority.com/galaxy-tab-10-1-wifi-p7510-paranoid-android-2-custom-rom-114133/
But i'm not satisfied with it and i want to go back on the previous version I had : official ICS.
So i've a question : are the firmware (download on sammobile for exemple) simply updates or complete ROM that we can install on our devices?
In both cases, i would like to find a way to get back an official rom...:crying:
Can you help me please?
First rule of Android modding. Always make a backup in recovery. If you had you could just boot to recovery and restore the backup. To answer your question the firmware downloads from sammobile are indeed fully stock roms. They are designed to be flashed with Odin (.tar.md5 files) flash them in Odin the same way you flashed a recovery, point to the .tar file with PDA slot in Odin.

Tanks for reply,
Actually, I did a backup before, like the tuto said, but when i want to restore, i've an error during the restauration of the data so it stop and don't restore.
And like you said, I've flashed the file from sammobile with Odin and the installation seems to work but when I reboot in normal mode, I'm stuck at the Samsung logo screen.
So do you know a way to reinstall proprely an official ICS ROM, even if I have to format my tablet?
thanks for help

After downgrading, it's a good idea to wipe data/factory reset from whatever recovery you have (stock or CWM). Factory reset may resolve this.
Note that the first boot after an installation is slow.. the logo screen stays around for several minutes if I remember right.

What isn't working? Did it flash successfully but not boot? Just do a factory reset. If it didn't flash completely, then you have to let us know what happened before it failed.

Ok, so typically when people say they flashed a rom, that means a custom version through a custom recovery. But you said earlier you tried to install through Odin. This is an important distinction. If you tried to flash a custom rom and it didn't work, then flashing the correct stock firmware through Odin will resolve. If you flashed through Odin and it gave you that warning, then you need to find the right one and re-try.

Yes, flashing the original firmware via Odin should get you working again.

will it work if i used samsung kies recovery
Possibly, but if the system had already been modified, I find Odin to be a more reliable fix.

I was on 5.0.2, then I update to 5.1.1 via Smart Switch.
After update stuck on samsung logo.
I've never rooted or flashed anything custom before, in download screen Knox still 0x0
Tried wipe data, flash 5.1.1 stock rom via odin 3.10.6 but no luck.
Anyone can help me ? thank you so much.
Stuck for how long? Does it reboot after sometime? If not, wait. First boot after update takes more time. If it doesn't boot at all, try flashing stock via odin.

Dm verity verification failed is problem with Imei.
Have you tried to flash the firmware that I posted?
1st - go into download mode on device. Hold home power and up.
Plug device in to odin.. on odin it should have blue box saying COM:1 or something like that.
Extract the firmware and put the .tar file in AP.
Make sure auto reboot and re partition are UNCHECKED.
Then start.
Try this and post a screenshot on here of odin one it's finished.
I had exactly the same issue and flashing this firmware fixed it.

Try to flash a different stock firmware.
First though... in odin flash twrp recovery.
Boot into recovery and wipe cache partition and wipe data. Then restart phone. This should work. If not try the first step (flash a different stock)
