Now with the advent of USB type C and the ability to Daisy chain 2 phones together to charge one from the other, I'm wondering if we could run terminal commands on one phone and send them to the other.
For example, instead of relying on a pc to send ADB and Fastboot commands to a phone, could we (at least at some point) connect 2 phones and send ADB/Fastboot from one phone to the other?
This would simplify rooting and could possibly even open up the possibility of having programs like NRT running on the Android platform.

Has any anyone been able to get any of the screenshot apps to work on their Atrix? I know we can using the SDK, but that's not what I'm inquiring about. Please share any ideas or if we can even make it happen.

no luck with drocap2 for me
Any news on this?
FWIW, I sent an email to the developer of ShootMe asking for support. I never heard anything back. Just gotta be patient.
AFAIK the only working method at this point is using the Android SDK to take a screenshot from your computer. Just download and install the Android SDK (google it), hook up your phone via USB, launch C:/Program Files/Android/android-sdk/tools/ddms.bat (may be slightly off, going from memory) from the command prompt, and the program that opens will allow you to take a screen shot.

I think most people are looking for the same functionality as the iPhone has. My fiancée could not live without this function on her iPhone and it's got to be a little disheartening for some people coming from iOS to find out that Android does not have a built in feature like this.
I agree - it seems to be a result of the distinct resolution of the atrix screen. I imagine that an app will be available soon.
Hi I recently read that I can use adb wireless to connect my phone to my pc, this said, I accomplished it, fine.
Problem is, how and where do I Tx and Rx files from pc to sgs2 and vice-versa, OR from what I can gather (using the dos prompt) can this 'only' be done via the dos prompt.
Apart from development whatelse can be done with adb, (the only reason I was interested in adb was for the app adb wireless tauted as a file transferring app via wifi; I had expected maybe a splash screen or something, but I realise I've fallen into a user developement app.
Also can anyone recommend a good file share app, I now have the full websharing app, yet I had hoped it would be more than what it is, given I have to ctrl+alt and highlight all I want to tx<>rx; I would prefer drag-drop, or an ability to highlght with mouse action.
Any light on the above would be appreciated.

Hello, I have a rooted MT4GS with the Rubix Sence mod 1.3 final installed. I am having issues with Meebo connecting to it's server and I am thinking it is because there is another app using the same port that Meebo does(I am waiting Meebo's responce to see what port(s) it uses to handle the log in request). I have used netstat to try to see what ports are open, and it does it's job, except of course it doesn't tell me what port belongs to what app so I know which app to kill to see if it works.
My question is: Is there a way I can see what apps are using what ports either by an installable app of via ADB? I have used ADB just enough to root my phones and that is it so I am unfamilur with the commands and tools. I do run Umbuntu at home and am not affraid of terminal.
Hi everyone,
I've got multiple devices that I do testing on for various android programs (.apks).
Right now I'm using adb. It's pretty fast but requires I do the installs one by one.
I know there is a way to specify a device using "adb devices" but I'm looking for a way to automate going through the device ids.
Anyone have any tips/info on how you could setup your computer so that you plug in all the devices, run one command/script and have android apps be installed across all devices?
Thanks!
Hey there,
Just a bit of backstory first, I like to play Terraria quite a bit, and since my pc isn't so good (Droid X2 almost has better specs) I would like to see if I could run the stand alone Terraria server application (http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Server) simply on the X2 so as to reduce the stress on my pc when I host.
I would like to know if it is possible to run this command line program off of my android device (DX2), of course I would need to be able to connect to WiFi while the server is running, and be able to type in commands. If it comes down to requiring a special Rom then I could just make a TiBu backup of what little stuff I want to save on the X2, and then switch over to that Rom.
Storage room on the phone shouldn't be an issue, I have an 8gig micro sd card that could take care of anything. And if the issue of not enough ram comes up then (if I remember correctly) I can use the internal memory as extra ram.
Any assistance from the X2 experts would be awesome, thank you!
Windoze commands are incompatible with android. They have to be Linux compiled commands designed for arm. I don't know if it works but I do know that the android version of the game does support other people joining. Though it does say mobile devices.
