So I remember during my Droid Charge days, we had screen calibration tools built into kernels. I think they were voodoo kernels? I can't completely remember. Would it be possible to get something similar for the V10, where you can calibrate the screen?

It's not the same. The voodoo kernels allowed for very in depth color adjustments.

Does anyone know why (or how to fix) my phone turning the green LED light on at 90% charge instead of waiting for 100% ?
My rom is Thundershed v1.6. However I have used other various roms and had the same problem.
The only rom that has not had this issue was a Sense rom. I have tried to calibrate the battery but it didnt fix it. Is this just a quirk of not using a sense rom or is there some way to fix this?
Thanks for any help!! :cyclops:
All cm roms do that and there isn't a setting to change it.

That stinks. Oh well. Thanks for the answer!
I think there is an app called light flow that may help you. I mean now that you know it turns green at 90 you really won't need it but I just remembered it.

WARNING:
Using this mod may decrease battery life, decrease screen life and/or quality, cause overheating, cause your phone to blow up or cause other damage to your phone. Use at your own risk. I am not responsible for any damage this mod causes to your phone.
This Mod will increase the max brightness of your phone by about 10%.
Note:
Auto Brightness must be turned off for this to work.
Root is required for this Mod.
Instructions:
Download and run app attached to this post.
Or. ..
echo 1 > /sys/class/backlight/panel/auto_brightness
If you reboot or enable auto brightness you have to run it again.
The best way to tell if it worked would be to run it when your screen is already at full brightness. You'll see it go a bit brighter.
Tested on T-Mobile Note II, but this may work in many Samsung Galaxy phones.
Sweet, now I pretty much have no excuse not to get this phone. This is seriously sweet.
Just an inquiry, but do you know if color temperature or gamma control is modifiable via kernel, app, or other means?
Also, where is the enthusiastic community response?

I think the answer is not yet. But I think it's coming, it's up to the kernel devs.

Nobody has the device yet...I think most are holding off to see what the skinny is on the bootloader. Also this is a nice mod but far from original development...needs moved to the other dev section and it will probably get more traffic.
works as advertised on Sprint note 2...would prefer something more automatic/not app dependent to be honest but great nonetheless

One thing I can recommend is playerpro from the play store. Its EQ is second to none!

use a custom kernel that includes voodoo like sound tweaks such as siyah, perseus, or boeffla. amongst other things it will allow you to increase pre amp volume gain.
then use neutron player. the ui isnt the greatest, but the sq sure is the best

Here you will find a kernel I had built for myself and shared with a few others. I like it, they like it, so I thought I'd share.
What is it? It's a VERY lightly modded kernel. It's build from elkay's (LK kernel) great work. Basically HSIC fixes and undervolting. You can read more about LK kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37234176
I've mostly just added FFC and the color_enhancement bugfix that most devs don't seem to want to add.
You will find no fancy governors here, no sweep_to_do_something, no overclocking, no aroma installer. What you will find is a solid kernel, with the above fixes.
To make it clear, this is the kernel I run, and I'm just sharing. If you like it, great. If you don't, I don't care, use someone else's. I'm no elite kernel "dev".
Credits - elkay (98% his work) and crpalmer (for his build tools). Also Infinite Jest for pointing out just how bad our displays looked.
Here's the download - http://d-h.st/Oxr
I won't be pushing source to github. Compressed source can be found here - http://d-h.st/k5L
Q&A:
Q: Can you add feature "x"?
A: No
Q: How can I overclock with this kernel?
A: No
Q: Can you add super_lame_badass_v9_supercharged_donkey governor?
A: No
Q: Can you post source to github?
A: No
Q: I'm having "x" problem, can you fix it?
A: No
Enjoy
Thanks. I just happened to be looking for a kernel and I guess I will try this one out. I can just flash this in recovery if I'm s off and I just wipe dalvik cache and cache after installation right?

The color fix makes a massive difference. Thanks Beaups.

A few folks have. I personally have not but I have it d/l.
Hoping Saber and Faux port their kernels eventually.
It's safe
Yes ive used it for a day and I like it so far.
I just flashed it and nothing has exploded yet! So far so good ;-p It seems snappy, it's quite "minimal" as he said. I haven't been able to alter governors/IO schedulers but I'd be a betting man and say this would significantly increase battery life
Works great. Does anyone know if 0.9 will work on MJ4?

Yes i flashed it using Jellybomb Ver 1.0 MI5 overclocked to 2.7 and undervolted -50mv with system tuner so far its stable
I've been using it, since the OP made us Sprint folks aware of it. I haven't had any problems at all. The developer updates frequently, and now that I've started experimenting with the color temperature, the screen colors seem a lot more natural-- not so Samsung cartooney.
