Oxygen OS is a great ROM in my opinion. But I missed some things, which are quite common in AOSP ROMs.
Therefore I searched solutions for getting a better user experience, which I wanted to share with you now.
UPDATE: Another great idea to improve Oxygen OS is a ROM based on Oxygen OS with some modifications, it's called FreedomOS by @NevaX1. It's already available for the OnePlus 3, but will be ported to OnePlus 2 as well. Tests should begin soon. Keep an eye on this thread: [TEST] FreedomOS, need tester for OnePlus2
UPDATE: I don't use Oxygen OS anymore, but will keep on maintaining this thread. If you have an addition or found a mistake, let me know. Thanks.
Most things can be done with the Xposed framework so first get this running:
Oxygen 2.2.1 (last update: 04 Jun 2016, therefore outdated, won't be supported anymore)
Get root access and install a custom recovery - lots of guides available, check the device index thread
Download Xposed framework - file name is similar to xposed-vXX-sdk22-arm64.zip¹ currently xposed-v85-sdk22-arm64.zip (working with Oxygen OS 2.2.1)
Download Xposed installer - file name is currently XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk
Boot into recovery and make a backup first, then flash the Xposed framework ZIP file.
Reboot and install the Xposed installer APK file.
¹XX is the Xposed version, SDK 22 is for Android 5.1 API, ARM64 for our 64 bit SoC from Qualcomm
Oxygen 3.0.x
Get root access and install a custom recovery - lots of guides available, check the device index thread
Download Xposed framework - file name is similar to xposed-vXX-sdk23-arm64.zip¹ currently xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64.zip (working with Oxygen OS 3.0.x)
Download Xposed installer - file name is currently XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk
Boot into recovery and make a backup first, then flash the Xposed framework ZIP file.
Reboot and install the Xposed installer APK file.
¹XX is the Xposed version, SDK 23 is for Android 6.0 API, ARM64 for our 64 bit SoC from Qualcomm

Audio Tuner working with Google Play Music
Audio Tuner doesn't work with Google Play Music out of the box, let's make it work
Solution: Disable "Ok Google" detection from any screen
Open the Google app -> Settings -> Voice -> "Ok Google" detection -> disable "From any screen" -> re-open Google Play Music
Battery percentage indicator OOS 2.x legacy, available since OOS 3
Brings the battery percentage text into the battery circle icon
Solution: GravityBox [LP]
Statusbar tweaks -> Battery settings -> Battery indicator style -> Stock battery with percentage
Data traffic monitor
Indicates incoming/outgoing traffic speed in the status bar
Solution: GravityBox [LP]
Statusbar tweaks -> Data traffic monitor
Disable camera shutter sound
Disables the camera shutter sound for all camera apps, including Google Camera
Solution: Any file manager with root access should do, I use Amaze File Manager (Google Play) (go to settings and activate Root Explorer)
Open your file manager and go to /system/media/audio/ui
Rename the file camera_click.ogg into camera_click.ogg.bak (don't delete it)
Done. Enjoy silence while shooting pictures.
Disable vibration
Disabling any vibration including device unlocking with fingerprint sensor
Solution: Vibration Tuner
Set the Global Vibration Strength to 0%, don't want a vibration anywhere
DPI changes
Lowering the DPI settings to get a size reduced UI, results in "more space"
Solution: Any file manager with root access should do, I use Amaze File Manager (go to settings and activate Root Explorer)
Open your file manager and go to /system
Open the file build.prop and add "ro.sf.lcd_density=380" (without quotation marks), where 380 is my settings, others are happy with 400 or 420
Save the file and reboot.
Double tap to sleep (DT2S)
Double tap on status bar switches off the screen/sends your OP2 into sleep
Solution: GravityBox [LP]
Statusbar tweaks -> Statusbar tweaks -> Disable peek (requirement)
Statusbar tweaks -> Statusbar tweaks -> Double-tap to sleep
Expandable volume panel
Expandable volume panel
Solution: GravityBox [LP]
Media tweaks -> Expandable volume panel
Power menu
Add more features to the power menu
Solution: GravityBox [LP]
Power tweaks -> Advanced reboot menu
Power tweaks -> Require reboot confirm
Power tweaks -> Screenshot in power menu
Reboot options
(Soft) Reboot (to recovery/bootloader) or shutdown without even using the power button
Solution: Simple Reboot (Google Play)
Just start the app...
RRO Layer customization
Customize the UI of your device and apps with famous RRO Layer themes
Solution: Layers Manager (Google Play)
Check Discussion for RRO Layers, see also "Bootanimations, Themes, Wallpapers" section in device index for more themes
Note: This is not working with every layer theme, sometimes it only works partially (for example Settings worked, SystemUI not in my case). Fixing bootloops caused by a incompatible/bad layer from TWRP.
Step 1: Go to Advanced.
Step 2: Go to file manager.
Step 3: Go to /system/vendor/overlay/ and remove the bad overlay apk.
Volume key skip track
Skips track while screen is off
Solution: GravityBox [LP]
Media tweaks -> Volume key skip track
Volume steps
Add more volume steps for a better volume scaling
Solution: GravityBox [LP]
Media tweaks -> More music volume steps (30 in my case)

Setting to such is insane as you'll wreck battery life surely by locking it to max frequency at all time
Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
i want only fp vibration to stop. not globally. any solution ??
Thanks for this usefull guide
Oh also, i would suggest using the advanced reboot menu in developer options builtin from OOS. That one uses whatever customkzation color set and not the default text color. It also has confirmation.

Saw the screenshot. It seems that those settings does fit your daily usage style. I can't get more than 2hrs with that as I have several chat apps with some always syncing. Sorry for doubting your call earlier.

So do you have a working settings for boeffla?
For some reason, I can't change my DPI anymore since 2.2.1. Previously I used the app "Le DPI Changer" with the build.prop change and it worked fine for months and multiple oxygen OS versions. But now even when I manually add the LCD Density line, it doesn't work correctly. Swiftkey and some icons are broken.

Check if this line is included in build.prop only once with a valid value. I updated from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1 as usual, rooted/xposed and also set DPI as usual.

And I set the value to 380 again and it works very fine after a reboot. Please check your value. Are all icons broken or only modified icons/icons from an icon set or system icons?
Omg thank you so much!! MaxxAudio is working again with this simple trick

Hi All
i've tried xposed 77, 80, 82, 83... and every single time.. the phone just randomly restarts.
I've removed all the xposed modules...and even then.. it's still losing its mind.
I've tried straight flash - no root.
=Fine
Then Rooted.
=Fine
then xposed in every version listed above...
=Loses its mind and crashes/reboots after getting to login/halfway through text/just going into app drawer/settings
in other words... Randomly.
Any ideas?

Installation instructions
NEW INSTALL PROCEDURE (simplified):
wipe data / factory reset.
flash 5.8.zip
that is the only file you need.
when you flash it , you will see options for part 1 and 2.
install part 1.
reboot to system.
flash 5.8.zip
install part 2.
choose options,
fix permissions, reboot.
the new installer will walk you through the install easily and quickly.
MY INSTALL PROCEDURE:
Figured I'd write these down so that there was no confusion. These are the steps I take to ensure a proper install.
There may be other methods that work just fine, however, this works every time for me and is most compatible.
If you have any problems.. before you get angry, you may want to try this way first.
While doing this, it's safe to ignore all references to "unable to mount '/usbstorage.'" This is just recovery looking for a usb otg device.
Nothing to worry about here. Just pretend it doesn't exist. It's looking for a usb stick or hd.
1. >Copy minin3.mj4.R4x.zip to your memory card. (internal or external - I use the external card for backups and rom installs,
and have never run into an issue though my card is only 16gb. If you have any issues here try from the internal card and remove the external.
In my case external_sd/roms/minin3/minin3.mj4.R4ultimate.zip)
2. >Boot phone to recovery. (from power off - volume up+home+power)
I use TWRP recovery Version - 2.6.3.7. However, if you run into issues you may try going back to version - 2.6.3.2
3. >press "wipe"
>press "advanced wipe"
>check "Dalvik Cache" , "System" , "Data" , "cache"
(you may be able to get away with not wiping data, but once again, I highly recommend it)
>swipe to Wipe
>look for "wipe complete successful" at the top of the screen
(once agian ignore all references to "unable to mount '/usbstorage')
>press "back"
>press the little house icon in the bottom left (sort of anyway)
>press "reboot"
>press "recovery"
>swipe to reboot
>press "do not install"
(phone will then reboot back to recovery)
4. >press "install"
>navigate to your rom file
(in my case, I pressed on the grey bar that says "storage: internal storage" and selected "micro sdcard" (the external sd)
I then selected the folder "minin3" from the bottom box, then the file "minin3.mj4.R4ultimate.zip")
>swipe to confirm flash
(ignore "unable to mount /usbstorage")
>wait aprox 1-3 minutes while it does its thing.. you should then see "successful" and some buttons
>press "reboot system"
5. >Initial phone setup is optional. In my case, I just skip it all and log in after. Works both ways.
(either way, get through the setup wizard until you are on the desktop)
>boot back into recovery (either power off, or reboot and hold vol+ and home)
6. >press "install"
>navigate back to the rom file (for me once again minin3/minin3.mj4.R4ultimate.zip)
>swipe to confirm flash (give it a minute to do its thing)
>press the little home button again in the bottom left
7. >press "advanced"
>press "fix permissions"
>swipe to confirm (this should be very quick)
>press "reboot system"
8. phone should boot to dashboard
9. >now would be a good time to also open both viper4android apps and let them install the drivers
>choose whatever setting you like for viper4android and choose cortex neon for xhifi.
At this point you should be ready to go with all the major stuff ready and known bugs squashed.
11. >reboot
12. >enjoy MiniN3 v5.4
(If dirty flashing (not wiping before hand - epecially data) you still may want to boot and flash a second time, and then fix permissions in case I missed anything.. it won't hurt either way)
UPDATE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS>
FULLY INSTALL PREVIOUS VERSION (in this case 5.4)
then reboot to recovery, flash the update, and before rebooting go to advanced>fix permissions.
then reboot.

CONTRIBUTORS TAKE NOTICE.
Apparently issue was taken with how we were running the thread.
In an attempt to keep us in the rules the following changes were made.
Even though all users were getting updates as I thought they were stable. We are not allowed to have anything that looks like your paying to get extra features.
Some issues were also taken with the donation wording.
Until we decide a final solution. This is what will happen for the immediate future.....
ALL CONTRIBUTORS have been moved to the "test group"
For you guys nothing really changes.
The folder your using stays the same though the label will change from contributor folder to test folder.
New additions to the test group will be at my discretion only. Anyone may contact me by PM or email and ask for a slot. I can accept or deny them at will.
From time to time I will invite users from the thread who have shown a commitment to the rom.
I will also invite those who contribute something useful to the rom. (If they have work in it they should have access at all points)
The test group will then continue the same job as the contributor group was doing previously. Really for this part it's just a name change. As things are deemed stable (by me again no one else gets a say here) they will be released to everyone.
I'm not sure how else this will effect the future of this rom on xda. Though I will be maintaining development for my own use anyway.
So for the moment. As far as you guys are concerned. No real changes.
If anyone would like details you may contact me privately.
I will only discuss this here in general terms just so there is no possible future issue.

thats what i like to hear. version two coming in the next day or so. mostly done.another 80 mb removed but added some functionality back.
re added gallery mostly just so it was possible to change lockscreen wallpaper. cleaned up some bugs added some smaller stuff back. still looking like right around 550mb with some of the functions returned.i am going to keep the stock installed apps very light but want it to come out of the box with everything needed to use.anything else can just be grabbed from the market. just finishing up what to add back.and finding a place to host it and get it uploaded with my slow poke internet,

Pushing the status bar from the extreme right point makes it go to quick settings instead of showing the notifications, like when we use two fingers.
Sorry for my english
Any chance to port this Mod to the m7?
I don't understand why this isn't working for me. I flashed the latest rooted GPE RUU (5.0.1) and whenever I try to flash this modpack, the ROM stops booting in. It just shows me the boot animation and then nothing happens. Any ideas why? It's stock and rooted.
I restored system then tried installing again by choosing #1 and the ROM booted but the mods aren't there. The only thing I have is battery percentage, but nothing else (especially APM and smaller navbar) is working.

same problem over here
It seems like it only works on SkyDragon because it worked for me on it when I had it.
It even works on M7 lollipop GPE. Option 1 only worked. APM is not working. Otherwise all work.

Does long press back to kill app work for you? #1 is the only one that works for me but it only really displays the battery percentage and nothing else.
Can you add option to clear all recent apps ?

So I had to disable nav after flash.

Okay I am going to reinstall the ModPack (1st option) and then save the log file. Give me five minutes.
There you go.
Update 2018: Not many people are on Z3 anymore and even less using Fragment ROM, but just a heads-up - Mediafire has begun flagging random files as viruses in attempts to get users to purchase Bitdefender from them (I'm assuming they get a commission) so I have taken the liberty of removing all my files so that Mediafire is no longer tempted to flag them up, and so that they don't get any ad revenue from potential users visiting the links. Everything needed is on AFH so this won't affect much anyway. Just an explanation for some missing links.
Fragment ROM by Dobsgw
For Locked Bootloader. UB has it's own version in download section.
Deodexed Base
Based on Latest Sony 23.5.A.1.291 Global Firmware (D6603)
Includes all latest Baseband 61, fotakernel, 28 Jun Sony Kernel
SuperSU 2.79 and TWRP 3.0.2 included with init.d support added
This is a reasonably close to Stock ROM approach with some minor changes such as XZ SystemUI and dynamic framework for improved look and performance. No soundmods, no unnecessary scripts, no bloat unless you want it.
A solid custom ROM for those who like to make their own changes.
Overtime I may add or remove features to fine tune, but anything you feel is missing can just be flashed over for your own personalization.
(The obvious disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything that goes wrong with your device if you flash this. I have taken as many steps possible to ensure top quality and am running this myself, but you have been warned!!)
Main Features of the ROM:
(General)
- Heavily debloated

- Updated SuperSU to latest version 2.79 for LB version

None in V5
Install:
Boot to TWRP recovery.
Do not wipe system as this is done by scripts.

Install ROM
[If you have D6633/53 then flash the patch now]
(you can install Xposed Framework now too if you want it once ROM and OTA's are installed)
Wipe cache and dalvik
Reboot
Wait for optimization
Enjoy!!!

IF YOU HAVE UB SEE HERE
So after reports that V4.1.5 doesn't work, that V4.1.5 did work, that V5 doesn't work and that V5 actually does work (with custom kernels I mean).....
I'm leaving both versions here for people to download. They should both work. It is down to users to get custom kernels to boot with Fragment ROM now as I can only provide the ROM as is. My argument is that if you are running an unlocked bootloader then you should be at an advanced enough level to work out what needs to be done in order to make the phone boot up with a custom kernel. You are free to edit the Fragment ROM zips to your preference and modify anything for your private use to get things working (in fact I encourage you to do this to get the most out of your device!).
So have a go and let users know in the thread what worked for you on which kernel to get it booted up.
V4.1.5 UB Download links:
Android File Host: Fragment ROM V4.1.5 For Unlocked Bootloader
MediaFire: Removed as Mediafire is flagging files as viruses to force users to purchase Bitdefender from them.
V5 Finalized-Ultra UB Download Links:
Android File Host: Fragment ROM V5 Finalized-Ultra for Unlocked Bootloader
Due to incompatibility with RecRoot (the method of achieving root and recovery on Locked Bootloader) I have had to make a separate version of Fragment for Unlock Bootloader users if you want to use custom kernels.
The only difference is the lack of recroot so be warned you need to flash / fastboot your chosen custom kernel for TWRP access (only tested 78Kernel)
Instructions:
Boot to TWRP (install this however you want if you don't already have it)
Factory Reset
Flash Fragment ROM UB Version (this still includes the stock kernel, just not root or recovery)
Flash Kernel (tested with 78Kernel)
Flash SuperSU Systemless
Flash DRM Patch
Reboot (it will probably show a black screen for a while if flashing SuperSU. Don't touch it. If it hangs there for longer than around 5 mins (was for me) then it might not be booting so have patience / try again)

I just removed Chrome completely from this since you can get it from Play Store anyway. I did the same to V2 of the Deodex.
It looks like you need to go to system/vendor/app and delete the ChromeCustomizations folder. I don't know why since I deodexed it, but it causes an issue for Chrome.
I have just done this and it works fine. This will be sorted in V2
Yeah try it. If you have any issues you can clean install, but I don't see any problems from that. Remember this is heavily debloated compared to the Stock Deodex so if any apps are missing you can download the addons and edit them with an archive tool like 7zip or winrar and delete all the bloat you don't want. Then flash it and you'll have the system apps back that you are missing
Perfect, the more debloat, the better

So far so good. Only recently installed but I'll see how it goes.

Good to hear. Remember for V1 to delete the Chrome Customization folder in system/vendor/app or Chrome won't play nice.
Apart from that I don't think there's any bugs.
I'm already working on changing the SystemUI a little bit, but I'll see what happens. There may be an updated version of the Xperia X one coming soon...

Great ROM, anyway to implement support for Mass Storage mode(MSC) ?

I will look into it but no promises ;p
It seems to be an archaic and unnecessary transfer protocol. The device would be partitioned completely differently for true implementation and I think it's best left in the past...
What's wrong with MTP?
How do i Change The pull down menu from Blue to Black?

Change theme.
There's a black theme that I use.
Try the black theme then in Blurred SystemUI set it to 100% transparency for a cool effect

You mean bright blue or dark blue?
This is mine without BlurredUI.
If it isn't the same as mine. Apply the theme and reboot/ restart systemUI.
If you wanted another colour you need to find a theme this black notification panel. I admit that it isn't actually black but that's Sony for you

Well I use my SD Card a lot and I tend to transfer huge files and it goes much faster using MSC than MTP, I can also drag files from browsers and other programs when i have MSC but I can't using MTP

Ah okay well I don't think I can add that.
It might be something you need to do yourself for your device. I don't even know if I could do it on a locked bootloader
krapster said:
Well I believe it can be done, not sure about the specifics myself but running RXSW ROM it does seem to work even under locked bootloader, great ROM regardless!

Okay well good suggestion.
It won't be a priority but if I get a chance and can manage it I can always add it later.
No time soon though. Taking it slow to make sure it's stable.
Couple things to work out already and I'm working hard on V2
Working on version 2. Won't be released until there is a significant enough change to warrant uploading a whole ROM. So could take a while.
I will make it an OTA patch though to flash over V1, but some manual work will need to be done to clean bugs.
So far...
Change Log v2:
Fixed Chrome issues by deleting chrome customization from vendor/apps (people on V1 can do this themselves. Also delete the ims folder in there)
Cleaned up the systemUI apk to add back some defaults from Xperia X
Fixed org.codeaurora.ims stopped issue on some start-ups (version 1 users delete ims folder from vendor/apps as stated)
Disabled mobile data disabled notification as it is annoying as hell
Fixed the weird sound when taking pics/ screenshot with sound on (changed the shutter sound in system back to default)

Hey guys! You may ask yourself what this rom is about and what you can expect from it, so it's basically something similar to the SuperMan-Rom on the Galaxy S7/S7 edge! It has many custom featuers, but you will find it below in the feature list
As you maybe know I'm a little fanboy from samsung, means I really love the stock look of the UI and the rom will always be based on most recent version from samsung, current base used is G955FXXU1CRC7 (compatible with S8 and S8+)
I wish you much fun reading through the features and while using this rom! Enjoy
So this rom should be installed by anyone loving to use a rom close to stock BUT with many mods inside aroma/rom control.
Also I'd like to make the already fast galaxy s8 even more faster as it already is! Let's see if we can reach this goal
Nobody is allowed to take stuff from my rom without asking me! Thank you.

- Added googles web view by default, so we don't need google chrome
- Busybox installer updated
BatMan-Rom V2.0.0 Final:
- Updated to CRC7 base (March update). I'm aware that CRD7 is out, but I already finished this base update while the other one rolled out...
- Reworked most mods from Nougat to Oreo, some are new, some I had to leave behind. You'll find out when visiting the romcontrol app
- Included an aroma choice to flash with odex or deodex framework (this is the ONLY change compared to the beta release). If you don't know anything about the odex/deodex issue, I suggest you to read up on that a bit! I talked a lot about it in here
- Updated magisk to latest 16.3 (16.4 magisk is causing issues sometimes)
- Updated included BL/CP to CRC7
- Updated modded camera
- Updated dual speaker sound mod
- Updated busybox
- Updated GBinstagram/GBwhatsapp
- Updated modded youtube
- Updated xposed to latest Oreo beta
- Updated modded samsung music app (thanks to @thereassaad )
- Updated all included kernels to CRC7 base
- Many thanks to @asc1977 and @mwilky who have helped me so much to get this update done! Without them this wouldn't have been possible with all those mods!

Questions and Answers
Basic Questions:
Q: How to get into Download Mode?
A: Power off your phone, than hold: home + volume down + power on button until you see the download mode.
Q: How to get into Recovery Mode?
A: Power off your phone, than hold: home + volume up + power on button until you see the recovery mode.
Q: My Phone is stuck at boot and doesn't start, what to do??
A: Update your bootloader, modem and TWRP recovery. Also make sure you have made a fresh install of the rom. Bootloader and Modem can be found in the OP. Another problem can be that you are didn't decrypt your phone. To fix this read below how to disable encryption.
Q: Do I need to update bootloader and modem after every update?
A: It's recommend to update your bootloader and modem everytime there is a new base yes. The developer will tell you if necessary on every rom changelog.
Q: I get verification failed at start up!?!? My phone is broken now?
A: Yes, you have to buy a new phone now. Just kidding You did not disable force encryption in TWRP (how to do so you will find below in how to decrypt your phone).
Q: I get verification FRP LOCK? WHYYYYYY???
A: Very simple answer, you did not enable OEM Unlock in developer options. Now you need to flash full rom with odin again and start from scratch. But don't forget to enable OEM Unlock this time!
Q: Which devices are supported at the moment?
A: Current supported devices are: SM-G95XF/FD/N. Snapdragons are NOT supported
Q: Is this rom working on Snapdragon 835 variants?
A: No, sadly not.
Q: I want to change something in my rom setup, how can I do that?
A: Simply reflash the same rom version without any wipe and than choose the correct things you want.
Q: Some features are not present in this rom, but they are on stock rom, so where are they?
A: In aroma installer you have the option to select bloat you want to install or not, you probably didn't select all package, this is why it's missing now.
Q: After a clean install my phone is overblated with many custom settings. What to do?
A: Open my romcontrol, grant it root permissions and then my default settings will be applied.
Q: Will you add X or Y feature?
A: You can kindly ask in the thread for that, if I like your suggestion I will think about adding it to the rom.
Q: You said you fixed SD card RW but Titanium Backup can't write to external SD card, why???
A: This is because of googles changes concerning SD card, to fix this open Titanium Backup, Menu, Preferences, Backup Folder Location, Storage provider and than hit DocumentProvider Storage and select your SD card. Problem solved
Q: I can't find X and Y mod. Please help
A: I've added many links and useful stuff to this post here. Hope that's what you have been looking for!
Q: I want to have my external storage like an internal as well. Google introduced it with android Marshmallow, but I can't see this option?
A: Just follow this Guide here and you can setup your SD card as normal storage
Q: I got a new strange icon (like a cloud) appearing after nougat update. What's that?
A: This is a new advanced calling feature introduced in android nougat. Should make your call quality better or something like this. To hide it please visit following forum: Get rid of RCS icon
Q: I installed Viper or other sound mods, but they won't work, why?
A: You most likely missed to freeze sound alive, if you did this and it's still not working you it's due to the kernel. Stock kernel doesn't support these mods since we need a permissive kernel!
Questions concerning rom updates:
Q: Do I have to do a full wipe for the new version?
A: It is always the best option to make a clean install, otherwise please don't come and report bugs!
Q: But I don't want to make a full wipe when only small stuff changed!
A: For updates using the same bases you can install the rom with a dirty flash. BUT with a new base a clean install is highly recommend!
Q: What steps should I do to update to a new version with a full wipe but keep all data?
A: There are some different ways. One way is to make a backup with Titanium Backup, you can backup all Apps and Preferences there. Make sure to store this backup on external SD card (if you have one). Second way would be to save your data onto a google account or samsung cloud and restore it after a clean install.
Q: I miss an apk after rom update, how can I get it back?
A: Simply reflash rom and select "dirty flash" in aroma + select the app this time in aroma.
Q: My battery life is so bad and performance is very poor after an update!?!?
A: This comes actually not form the rom itself, dirty flash can cause problems even if only some small things have been changed. So simply install it clean again and it will solve your problem.
Questions about log and logcats:
Q: I got FC's and other Problems with the rom, what to do?
A: Take a logcat for me, developers use to say: without a log, it never happened . A logcat can be grabed with a PC and ADB installed, simply type: adb logcat > log.txt while your phone is connected and the error is happening. Same can be done if you have a terminal installed on your phone. Simply type adb logcat > log.txt and you will have the same output as on the PC.
Q: What kind of logs can I provide to help you?
A: Logcat: This one is for general infos about FC's
DMESG: this is for kernel related things
Last_Kmsg: this can be used after a random reboot
Q: How to get logs?
A: 1. Connect your phone to your pc
2. Make sure you got usb debugging enabled
3. Install Minimal ADB tool
4. After install open it and type: adb logcat > logcat.txt, adb shell dmesg > dmesg.log, adb shell cat proc/last_kmsg kmsg.log
5. Send me the file you got
You can also send me a log created by your phones terminal with the exact same commands!
Questions about RomControl:
Q: None of my romcontrol changes do anything, why are you such a bad dev!?!?
A: The problem is not on my end, you installed stock systemUI (which is STOCK and does not support one single mod). Use another one in aroma instead. The same thing can happen with good lock!
Q: Romcontrol gives FC's to me. HELP!
A: Very simple answer here: wipe data and cache from batman control application. Also make sure storage permissions are given to the romcontrol.
Q: Romcontrol still FC after cleaning data and cache!
A: Make sure you allow storage permission in main settings.
Q: I try to backup my current RomControl setup, but it won't work?
A: It works. Just make sure to enable storage permission in main samsung applicatoin settings. You will find it in internal sdcard under RomControl folder.
Q: I can't restore BatMan control settings after a clean base update, why?
A: Backup for BatMan control only works as long as you use the same version of the app, I mostly change very much things in new releases that's why it won't work there.
Q: SystemUI reboot doesn't work in BatMan settings app, why?
A: Since Nougat update, you need to install busybox in order to get this button working. Without busybox the button will just do nothing.
How to go back to stock:
Q: I like to go back to stock rom, how is this possible?
A: I can provide you here all steps which are needed to go back to a full stock rom.
0. Make a backup and than wipe all partitions in TWRP
1. Go to Sammobile and choose your country
2. Download the file and the attached Odin on sammobile
3. After downloading, put your phone into download mode
4. Make sure drivers are installed and your pc can detect your phone in odin
5. If the box in odin turns blue, add the AP file to AP tab, BL file to BL tab, CP file to CP tab and CSC_HOME to CSC tab
6. Hit start and wait until it is finished.
7. Reboot and you have a stock rom again
Questions about Encryption:
Q: On TWRP there is an error about /data mount, what to do?
A: Your device is encrypted, follow the steps below to get rid of your encryption.
Q: Help, I never had a code and now after installing the rom my phone asks for a password??
A: Your device is still encrypted, on step 0 of my rom instructions it tells you to be sure you're not. So, what do you need to to in case you are still encrypted.
A: HOW TO DISABLE ENCRYPTION:
1. Boot into TWRP
2. Select Wipe
3. Select format data
4. Then you manually need to type "yes" with the keyboard
5. Confirm the wipe (this will remove the encryption)
6. Reboot your recovery
Q: Is there a way to get rid of encryption which is simpler?
A: Not really, you could also wipe data with stock recovery but this is quite a big hassle so above method works better.
Q: And if I want to use this rom with encryption?
A: Encryption does not work anymore on Nougat roms with TWRP installed, sorry to tell...
Questions about CSC/Signal:
Q: Where has the CSC selection gone?
A: To include all csc files, the rom get way to big, so it got it's own thread now, take a look here: CSC installer
Q: I have a weak cellular signal, what can I do against it?
A: Two things: first, install your providers CSC using CSC installer and flash in TWRP or flashing stock CSC with Odin. Second Thing: You can install the modem from your provider, also find your modem on Sammobile and install it with Odin in CP tab.
Q: I don't have all sHealth features, how come?
A: Not all CSCs include this feature. I recommend to use AUT or DBT as it has the best compatibility!
Q: Can I flash MM CSC on N and vis a verse?
A: No, this is clearly not recommend! You can and will face call fc's!
Questions about Xposed:
Q: Does Xposed work yet on Android N 7.0?
A: There are some test version of Xposed on N, I don't recomend to install it!
Questions about Magisk:
Q: How can I pass safetynet?
A: 1. Make sure to fully uninstall SuperSU by chainfire
2. Flash most recent BatStock Kernel
3. Flash Magisk V13.3
4. Open Magiks Manager, go to settings
5. Enable MagiskHide, systemless hosts and systemless busybox
6. Reboot the phone and check safetynet!
Q: Where can I configure the root settings in Magisk?
A: Since Magisk V11.1 Magisk uses MagiskSU, you can find it in latest Magisk Manager V4.1
Questions about Snapchat:
Q: What to do when I can't login to snapchat?
A: Clean install the rom without root and login to your snapchat, save the app with titanium backup, flash back root. For the next update of the rom just restore snapchat backup in TB.
Q: Any other possibility?
A: You could enable MagiskHide and check Snapchat inside it so root will be hidden from Snapchat. You will be able to perfectly login without any issues.
Questions about Kernels:
Q: I want to switch kernel, how?
A: We have systemless we have patches in ramdisk of boot.img. This means you have to reflash Magisk and supersu (or any other zip that changes some stuff in ramdisk partition) after every change of kernel!
Q: I got random reboots, heeelp!
A: This is most likely from a custom kernel, if you face random reboots please check if you have the latest kernel installed or switch back to the stock kernel included in the rom.
Hey guys, this isn't anything new, I just moved the BatMan thread into the criss cross development section as it's way more active in here :fingers-crossed: :good:

Are you using a custom launcher? I assume it's due to this one!

Hi,
Its my first root experience with the s8.
I love the rom.
However, I am unable to control the bixby button. I try to modify it behavior with bxActions or similar but nothing happens.
Is it depend on some of the Samsung apps? If so, which one (or is it possible to just have it working)

Hi folks, i flashed Dolby atmos in aroma, but if i try to open the app, the process stop working. Viper works fine. Is there a fix?

Palm Swipe to Capture not working!
Hi there!
I am currently running BatMan-ROM V1.1.1 and kernel version (4.4.13), I'm not sure if that's your kernel or the stock one because I don't remember the aroma choice I made.
I have tried disabling and re-enabling all the advanced features but palm swipe to capture screen still won't work. Any idea as to why that is happening? It's not a big deal but I find that feature useful sometimes, however if it's a hassle I can certainly live without it.
Thanks a lot, Tkkg!
hi, This icon from statusbar would be nice changed with AOSP style.
So recently did a clean install for V1.1.1 since I first did a dirty flash and I noticed my battery draining quicker then it did before. But even with the clean install it does the same.
In both causes AOD is on and I turn the phone screen downwards so it isn't always on and it seems that Android OS and Device idle are always staying awake. Where it went from using 3% battery at night (screen downwards) it went to 10% (screen downwards).
Currently I am on 62% over 15 hours of not using my phone and screen downwards. Where before I only reached that point when I would play PoGo a hour at the end of the day.
Anyone else having those issues?

That kernel version you mention is the stock kernel.
That feature definitly works. Tested just now. But you really need to start at the edge of the screen. If you just swipe over it it won't do anything.
I had to start swiping at the very beginning of the edge screen

If you just made a clean install, simply wait for a few days. Your phone is currently analyzing your usage and indexing the data and files you got on the sd and internal storage.
Also it you don't use the phone during the night, enable flight mode in order to get better battery (as it doesn't need to be connected all the time, maybe with bad receiption)

I suggest for clear sound and high volume: am3d (Download and install from magiks) and the original player in the app samsung store, now
enjoy with soundalive.... end edgelightning effect.
Installed it, everything is pretty much fine.
Only thing is V4A is not working i did a clean install, did the magisk update that works with it in the aroma installer, but when i turn it on nothing happens on my headset. Aswell on speaker.
Btw, the ''better camera quality'' mod is that zero's mod or should i still patch zeros mod on it?

Attention
This was built and tested on the Samsung Galaxy S8 G950F (Exynos) varient.
For Galaxy S9 and above which use encrypted CSC files - I have disabled a few CSC features because I can't test their implementation.
EdXposed is still very much a WIP and is still in beta.
THERE COULD BE BUGS/CRASHES/BOOTLOOPS, but it's pretty stable.
I've been working with both solohsu and C3C0 on testing EdXposed on Samsung devices.
Major Update
In the Pie version of FirefdsKit, I have updates the project in the following aspects:
Moved project from Eclipse to Android Studio
Updated compile SDK version to use latest SDK (28)
Updated dependencies to use online sources
Switched from Chainfire's SU library to topjohnwu's (Magisk) SU library
Installation
To install this module you need the following apps and modules installed on your device:
Magisk v18.1 and above - https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases
Magisk Manager v7.0.0 and above - https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases
Riru Magisk module v16.0 and above - https://github.com/RikkaApps/Riru/releases
EdXposed Magisk module v0.3.0.0_beta2 and above - https://github.com/ElderDrivers/EdXposed/releases
EdXposed Installer v2.2.1 and above - https://github.com/solohsu/XposedInstaller/releases
Download
Since EdXposed is still in an early stage, I have marked the initial release as Experimental.
In order to download it you need to enable seeing experimental releases in the module list - EdXposed Installer > Settings > Versions to be shown > Experimental
http://repo.xposed.info/module/sb.firefds.pie.firefdskit
Source Code
https://github.com/Firefds/FirefdsKit
Known Issues
Some features are removed on purpose. Since GravityBox has been working on Samsung Oreo devices without much issues, I only implemented features that need special Samsung coding. You can check GravityBox for Pie for additional features.
It could take some time to popup the root request, just wait a few minutes until it pops up, usually not much after the xposed installer recognized the module
External Libraries
The project uses the following libraries:
https://github.com/topjohnwu/libsu
https://github.com/rovo89/XposedBridge
https://github.com/rovo89/XposedMods/tree/master/XposedLibrary
https://github.com/jaredrummler/ColorPicker
Samsung framework libraries which are used for compile only
EdXposed Whitelisting
Users who want to use EdXposed's whitelist feature should whitelist the following apps:
Android System - android
Call - com.samsung.android.incallui
Camera - com.sec.android.app.camera
Contacts - com.samsung.android.contacts
Email - com.samsung.android.email.provider
Firefds Kit - sb.firefds.pie.firefdskit

The root request is called in the background and can take some time to popup.
Leave the app open for a few minutes, it should work.
If I see many complaints, I'll pop the request on startup.

Can you send me xposed logs after opening the power menu?

Here you go. And the way I saved the logs is:
-I disabled all other modules except Firefds kit.
-rebooted.
-went to xposed logs and cleared the logs.
-rebooted.
-waited a bit then held the power button to show the power menu.
-tapped on one of the invisible icons and the back button.
-went to xposed logs, reloaded once and save them.
And I also included a screenshot how it looks.

Thank you.
It seems the logs are incomplete.
Can you recheck and see if all the logs appear in the log file as they appear in the app?

I have checked and compared both of them and they both end at that line that says "using i".
I tried to get the logs this time disabling all the magisk modules but the log ends at exactly the same incomplete line.
And the thing that's driving me crazy now is that I tried different xposed installers and only the current one actually writes logs (although incomplete). Maybe an xposed issue. I'm no expert so I'm not sure what's wrong.
I'll keep searching for a solution and post back here once I get the complete log.
Thank you for looking into this

The EdXposed logs can behave weird.
Try the following:
Make sure you have ADB on your pc.
From the command prompt run adb with the following command: adb logcat > xposed.log
Then go back to the device and open the power menu
Finaly go back to the command prompt and CTRL-C to stop the logcat.
A file named xposed.log should be created on your pc, you can upload that.
