Create and play music playlists - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I've bought an Huawei Y360-U31 for my mom, and she wants loads of songs. So, I'm trying to create 4-5 playlists, and each time she want, she can pick up which playlist she wants, but I cannot do it. I don't find either the proper app or widget. There is an option to add a widget to your homescreen called "Music Playlist" but I don't know which app is it behind in order to create the playlists ('cause when I'm trying to add that "Music Playlist" widget, it doesn't see my sdcard music folders).
So, do you know which app is that "Music Playlist" widget? How can I use it to create different playlists?
L.E. I think I found it, I guess it's Google Music; but how can I add my local music in it, and not streaming?
Sorted through Google Music finally .

Music player playing mp3 ringstone.

so annoying that music player put mp3 ringstone on playerlist and playing them with other mp3 songs. even though, I put mp3 ringstone in ringstone folder.
is there away to fix that?
Which Music player are you using ?
All mobile media player do the same thing. You shuold create a playlist for all your MP3songs (without your MP3 Ringtones) and save that play list. next time just simply play that play list. for WM Mobile when you cold start the app ( the app is not already running in the background of your system "check your task manager") there aren't songs on the playlist. From here your can create your playlist at this time, then play them.
Hope that cuold help you.
There's no real solution to this.
Some will suggest changing the properties of any music file you don't want to appear in the sense music player list to 'hidden', but that also means it wont be seen by other apps (I hid my ringtones and they no longer appeared in the list of chooseable ringtones when setting a ringtone).
The best solution I came up with was re-tagging my mp3 ringtones as artist 'ringtone' and album 'ringtone', so at least they were confined to one artist/album.
thanks for reply.
start doing playlist now.
how to hide your ringtones?

Music player that reads folders. .

Hello guys,
I have been looking for a music player that can go thru folders and able to add a particular song to a playlist that doesn't require opening the file.
Or as an alternative, an app like astro but with a music option to add an mp3 to a playlist.
Ny suggestions guys? Thanks a lot guys.

PowerAmp reads folders (or your library) and can add songs to a playlist by long pressing on the song.
If you want an app that builds playlists on the phone try Playlist Builder.
Mortplayer i think is what your looking fkr

Thank you guys for the replies.
PowerAmp sounds really good. I will try that as soon as I get a 2.2 update..

Thanks for the app recommendation but I can't add playlist with a long press. I will be keeping it though because atleast I can play a song inside a full folder. I am currently organizing all my MP3s and make main folders by genre and inside will be sub-folders of artists, and inside those sub-folders will be the songs. I am also editing the MP3 tags.
Thank you guys a lot.. These 2 players makes me a happy man. =)
If you use Windows I recommend Mp3Tag and if you want to create some playlists with your PC try Playlist Creator.
Thanks for the recommendation but mp3tag has no way to import tags but it can export tags in excel file though. I found a windows based program that is pretty powerful and can import and export, just can't think of the name right now.
Thanks again guys. I have been using mortmusic player for the last 5 days and I love this app even without making a playlist. The way I am organizing my mp3s I probably wouldn't need playlist anyway..
Have you tried Mixzing? I got it recently looking for something that would play by folder, since all my music is meticulously organized by folder even though many don't have artist or album tags of any kind. Most music players split up all my organizing to try to re-organize by album or artist, which doesn't work for me.
Mixzing works great for me, so far. And it goes out and downloads album and artist info if I want it to.
I downloaded MortPlayer to try, too, but I just haven't gotten around to playing with it much.
My mp3 music is organized the same as yours and I want to play music by folders and sub-folders. Mp3 tags just doesnt work for me. I played with mixzing before with my HTC evo but never really satisfied with it hence why I was still looking. Atleast for now, mortplayer is keeping me happy.

[Q] Google Play Music song tagging

so i was trying to organize my library today, accidentally renamed over 1100 songs to Eiffel 65 as the artist. No idea how something like this happened.
Anyone have a program that can analyze mp3's and rename them? I should be able to download all songs from my account, hopefully scan them with something, and then re-upload them with the correct names...
would be ridiculously amazing if something existed that could scan my google music account directly and re-name them, but I doubt thats possible.

There are Mp3 tag editor apps, but I don't think Google Play uses that kind of Mp3 tags, maybe if you edit the tags in itunes.
Otherwise you could consider getting another music player, thought I don't know anything about Google Play Music and buying music.
There's an app called itag in Google play. Those songs the app is unable to match you will need to do it manually

[Q] Pin All Music in Google Play Music App

Hello all,
For the Google Play Music app, I know you can pin albums and playlists to your device so you do not have to stream them.
Is there anyway to simply pin all your music? Instead of doing each album or playlist individually?
Thank you.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Use a playlist
In the Web version Create a playlist with all your songs
In the App swipe to playlists and long press that play list to pin all
However its very slow doesn't keep the connection alive when the phone goes to sleep and puts the files in a folder where only a few other music players can see them

Google music is working in India???
can someone tell me how you create a playlist that contains your entire library? Hoping there's a better way than dragging every album/artist into the playlist.
Thanks!
Sorry for necroposting a little, I came across this thread while trying to accomplish the same thing, but dragging and dropping hundreds of songs onto a playlist didn't sound nice.
The easy way to go about this is to go to the Google Play Music web interface, go to My Library, and hit the "Shuffle My Library" button. That'll put all your music into the Queue, which you can open from the icon on the bottom right of the interface or from the side menu, under "Auto Playlists". Open the Queue, and hit "Save Queue", which will add all the music to a single playlist. From there, you can open up the android app and pin that playlist.
Hope this helps!

Is there a way to use Apollo's favorites list as a playlist on PC or other devices?

Hi,
I'm using CM's Apollo as music player on my phone, and i think it's doing it's work perfectly.
The thing is, i have marked certain songs as favorite but i'd like to use that favorites playlist on my PC also.
As i understand it the favorites section is just a playlist like all other playlist, so i reckon it must be stored somewhere.
I've checked /data/data/com.andrew.apollo/databases/ and it has a file named 'favorites.db' in it.
I opened it in notepad since i don't have miscrosoft access or other database editors, and there's names of my favorite songs everywhere between a bunch of characters. Obviously this has to be the playlist, but i can't use it as playlist on my PC this way.
I also have another playlist named 'playlist 1' but it's not in that location, so it's also possible that there's another location where Apollo stores it playlists.
I was hoping any of you might have an idea how to use or convert it, i'd be very thankful!
Cheers
