Added SELinux rules to allow fsck on stock-partitions and fixboot to unmount safestrap-partition
Graphics glitches fixed
zRAM uses 2 compression streams now
2016-01-14:
Implemented LiveDisplay/Color Calibration
2016-01-13:
More fixes for switching CDMA devices to GSM
T-Mobile CZ APN corrected
2016-01-11:
Preferred network type is now set earlier
Audio-routing through dock-audio (desk/car) added
Mouse-pointer (USB/Lapdock) fixed
2016-01-08:
Camera no longer crops pictures in portrait mode
USB storage integration added
Initial root-mode setting fixed
Migrated from busybox to toybox, busybox is gone
Fixed duration of boostpulse in power HAL
2016-01-06:
VZW data fixed

2016-01-04:
Adoptable storage fixed
Many kernel patches to filesystem-, block- and mmc-layers
2015-12-25:
Fixed internal storage for real. You need to manually remove /data/system/storage.xml and reboot when upgrading from previous builds. After that the internal storage will be the primary sd.
2015-12-24:
Fixed crashes of com.android.phone on GSM/UMTS (XT894/XT912)

SELinux policies updated
Update widevine from mako
Added (very slow) emulation of idiv-operations not supported by Omap4 but required by newer blobs (gapps swype, widevine)
2015-12-07:
First build for most devices
What's working:
Phone (tested on Verizon and on GSM/UMTS in Europe)
Mobile data
WiFi
GPS
Camera
HDMI
Playback of DRM-protected content (using Widevine from sprout)
Reboot to recovery
What's not working:
Probably most everything else, including, but not limited to:
Data encryption (due to safestrap)
Gapps:
OpenGApps
If you install Gapps after the ROM has been booted for the first time you either need to wipe data or manually delete /data/system/users/0/runtime-permissions.xml and reboot. Without this Gapps will crash constantly. This is due to the new permissions-system in M.
Installation:
You need a recovery supporting SELinux
A version of Safestrap (3.75) which supports SELinux can be found here: https://github.com/stargo/android_packages_apps_Safestrap/releases/tag/v3.75
Please read the instructions on how to install this version and follow the order of the steps in it.
GSM users with XT912:
These versions (both unofficial and official) automatically switch to GSM/UMTS without installing additional patches.

I think i will create a slot...Hail razr!!!!
Thanks for the thread! I can finally post in this thread now. As always, great work on getting MM preforming excellently on the RAZR and other OMAP-4 devices.
The only problems I see with the last two builds is my gps. I find no satelites in cm13. On cm11 and CM12 I find and lock on to 13 satelites almost instantly, under cm13 none. I use gps toolbox to test as it works on my Moto xpe running marshmallow, so I know it's os compatible.

Thank you @stargo. You've done a fine job indeed.
I'm not sure if it's just me, but I can't seem to switch to 2G/EDGE. When I go to settings>mobile networks>preferred network type and switch it to 2G, nothing happens - it stays on HSDPA. I tested this because I noticed Intelli3G and Smart Network xposed modules didn't seem to ever switch device to 2G.

This should be fixed by http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/124354/ and http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/124355/. But I still need to do some more testing before merging these.

Hey there @stargo, thanks for those latest fixes, but I found something that may be of your concern:
For some reason, the "mount point" for the internal storage is being mounted inside the /data partition (shared with /system, as you know, of course) and not in the actual internal storage partition. I'm on a XT910 and when I look though the system I see that the "internal storage" has only 3,45GB (which is the system/data partition, not the actual internal storage), and the actual internal storage (7,9GB partition) is nowhere to be found. When I booted into BootStrap I could actually see the 8GB internal storage instead of the 3,45GB (system/data) storage.
Edit: Stock ROM slot.

I also noticed this but assumed it would work if installed on stock.
I can't access the calendar.. It asks for my Google account and then says it already exists. Probably not ROM related though.

Hey there,
Well, i'm actually on Stock slot. Which is what worries me. It's the only 'major bug' I have found so far with this build.
I seem to have problem with the music app volume, when press play and sound suddenly increased. one was like me? Other software may resolve the issue . @stargo, great build, my phone is very fast :good:.

can somebody confirm that application like Cool Reader, Golden Dict, Camera dont make access to external storage card?
Nvm, the internal storage bug still persists.
wifi passwords arent being stored. just FYI.
@transi1 Try going into the App info screen for the app that is having problems with storage, and give it storage permission. That solved a few problems for me. hope this helps.

The strange internal storage is not a bug (sadly). Marshmallow removed support for internal sdcards and now only supports /data/media or external sdcards as primary sdcard. The wrong amount of displayed memory is due to a workaround I added to have the internal storage accessible at all again: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/6e21e5dc91ee06089b73a058cea871359810a994

While we wait for patches to be merged, I have patched framework-res.apk from the 20150210 nightly build to enable the missing navigation bar menu. The zip file below can be flashed on top of the latest cm12 nightly build to enable the missing navigation bar menu.
EDIT: Patch removed because the fix is now successfully merged into 20150212 nightly build.
Note: the contents of framework-res.apk does not change very often, but I will update this link when necessary (until it is fixed in the official sources).

I created this thread because there was no proper place to post for the current status of the official nightly cm12 builds for v500. We don't want to use the cm11 thread for cm12.
The only issue I've have is with the SD card. It will not allow apps to move to it and sometimes it becomes unmountable until I reboot.
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Problems with moving apps to the sdcard could caused by SuperSU. Try disabling "mount namespace separation" in the SuperSU settings, if you are using SuperSU.
I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Only problem I have is "SD Card removed unexpectedly". Using an alternative Kernal (Redkernal 14 or mani) cures this but it has to be reinstalled after every update. Any chance this problem can be cured without having to change kernals. Also CM updater is not working , downloads OK but tab reboots instead of going into recovery. CyanDelta works so I use this.

I think we need to gather more info on which sdcards are causing the problem and maybe we can find something in common between them.
Card info needed: brand, size, type of file system, firmware base.
Mine: Sandisk 64GB XC fat32 Ext4

The unmount problem on stock cm12 could be related to the ext4 partition on your sdcard. Ext4 is not an officially supported sdcard format, so there is probably very little testing with the sdcard drivers going on. At least, if I were to try and guess.
I suggest a single fat32 partition.
I have updated the Navigation Bar Patch on post #3 for todays build on 20150210. Usually, framework-res.apk does not change very often, but I will keep the link in post #3 updated when necessary (until it is fixed in the official sources).

I have reformatted my SD card as fat32 and it still gives the message "SD card unexpectedly removed" after each update. I also have a Galaxy S4 which is running Lollipop 5.0.2 and an ext 4 32GB Sandisk Ultra SD card and it does not dismount or remove itself. Only problem I have with the S4 is have to do updates manually because neither CWM or CyanDelta will run them automatically.

@Deltadroid I just want to personally thank you for keeping our tablet alive.
It's an excellent piece of hardware that still has strong specs even to today's standards. It doesn't seem to get much love. Most people went with a Samsung I'm guessing.
Thanks for keeping our overlooked and under-appreciated device breathing with the latest software!
I just didn't like Samsung's big ugly physical button.
I just didn't like the lack of decent materials and buildquality on Samsung's tablet ?

I dirty flashed with no issues.
A quick note for those who want to get Facebook and Messenger working . Delete the following files in your file browser (note that you must enable root access for apps in Developer Options):
/data/app/com.facebook.katana-1/lib/arm/libsslx.so
/data/app/com.facebook.orca-1/lib/arm/libsslx.so
Note that you still won't be able to make phone or voice calls in FB/Messenger.

Read this post. My guess is that you do not need it. CM13 was unofficial earlier, which meant the official branch had incompatibilities with VS985, which were fixed with the Nuke-it flash. The latest official adoption, and merge, have resolved these already, but Invisiblek would be able to clarify better than I.
Thanks for the Rom. Will report on any undocumented bugs.
Reformat ext sd card?
Does CM13 still require you to reformat any external SD card it recognizes? Sorry, haven't tried this new version, and will have to back up my card if this is still a requirement
TIA
:cyclops:
The ROM itself is running STUPID fast on my phone. Love the speed of everything.
I am having issues with this not maintaining the Connection to my Android Wear device. It seems to disconnect, and then forget the connection. Facebook and Snapchat will not start, even after deleting the folders in the previous posts.
Anyone here tested out Qi Charging yet?
Trouble connecting/authenticating to Enterprise WiFi after flashing. Credentials are being rejected and authentication is failing. Has anyone else experienced this?
This happens with a fresh or dirty install. It's almost as if the cert isn't being accepted/applied.

I think this might be a Bluetooth problem in general--I have to re-pair my car to my phone every time I get in.

Works fine for me!
I saw in the other thread that there were data issues with some builds. Have those been resolved, or is it still inconsistent?

I read somewhere that if you try booting twrp, unmount then remount the sdcard, it may work

@invisiblek with the 35b bootstack, can I flash it if I'm on 12.1 still? And then the subsequent radio as well?

I didn't have any issues, though it did ask me to configure my sd card. Basically, you can decide to use the "transfer" option, which leaves it alone, or you can format it as internal storage. Note: if you go with the internal storage, it won't work with any other devices and will require a format.

Has anyone had any issues with the phone crashing randomly? I dirty flashed over my 12.1 nightly (a recent one), updated all possible gapps, and flashed the new xposed module.
Update: I decided to flash the firmware suggested in the top post, and updated supersu at the same time. Now its stuck on a boot animation loop apparently. I call this progress, because if I call it anything else I might just break down and cry. I'm preparing myself mentally for the inevitable full wipe I most likely face.

You don't need supersu cm has it built in.

But will I be able to use the ext sd card if I flash a backed 12.1?

Anybody using our tried sending mms? If it worked, then how?

You have to first change SELinux to permissive, then flash super su.
I didn't see it mentioned as a bug so it might be a new policy for CM but does the advanced reboot option in dev settings always revert to unchecked after reboot?

I just sent a picture to test and it went through just fine, my phone was connected to Wi-Fi as well so it actually did the Wi-Fi to data handoff pretty quickly. This was using the stock messaging app.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
We'll not support users and answer questions from users which:
are running a custom kernel
have flashed mods
modified system files
didn't follow our intructions word by word
are unfriendly
And most important: DON'T READ THE OP
What's working:
Audio
RIL (Calls, SMS, Mobile data) [Dual-SIM]
Wifi (connection, tethering, etc)
Bluetooth (need patches in download links)
Camera, video codecs
Storage (both internal and external)
Storages (internal, external, adoptable storage) (*)
Offline charging
zRAM (compressed-RAM swap)
GAPPS
Tethering (USB, Wifi, Bluetooth)
GPS
Torch (flashlight)
BUGS/Not working :
Using single SIM get no signals. To fix this, remove "persist.radio.multisim.config=dsds" from build.prop. If you need dual SIM, add it again
FM radio app doesn't work (can be opened only)
Slow 3G speed
First time installing CyanogenMod 13 to your Galaxy Core Prime, or coming from another ROM:
Install TWRP Recovery
Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo (Vol-up+Home+Power)
Do a Nandroid backup! (Optional and only if you weren't running TouchWiz before)
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition + format /system partition)*
Install the ROM from sdcard using TWRP Recovery
Optionally install the Google Apps ( get it here: https://opengapps.org ) (pico GAPPS recommended) (*)
Upgrading from an older build of this ROM
Wipe system partition, wipe dalvik-cache but not data partition
Optionally install Google Apps (GAPPS) (link above)
(*) NOTE: If you're about going to install GAPPS with ROM, install it right after you've installed the ROM, else you have to do a factory reset if you've booted the ROM first

F.A.Q
Q: ROM startup too slow?
A: Nope, just because you haven't done a factory reset before installing the ROM
Q: Dead touchscreen?
A: Wrong installation method leads to this problem. Before restoring to stock through Odin, go to recovery mode (TWRP highly recommended), wipe everything in the Wipe section >> Advanced wipe (tick all system, data, cache, but not other storages, no need wiping dalvik/ART cache, as it already done by wiping data), then go to Download mode, restore stock, install custom recovery again and then, install the ROM you want
Q: ETAs?
A: See here: Link
Q: Anymore models supported?
A: SM-G360HU
Q: Is init.d supported on this ROM?
A: Every CyanogenMod ROMs support init.d, so be free at scriptings
Q: Can you include ABCXYZ feature / Samsung Apps here?
A: NO!
Q: Can I use your ROM as a base for portings?
A: Yes, you could, but give proper credits
Q: Server error in Google Play Store?
A: Install latest Google Play Services manually first (might take long time, due to Lollipop's nature), then you can install apps from GG Play as usual
Q: How to use adoptable storage feature? I see it's new in Marshmallow
A: Go to Settings >> Storage & USB >> Tap on the SD card label (not the eject icon) >> 3 dots menu on the top right >> Settings >> Format as internal and done!
Q: Where's the MTP option in Marshmallow? I don't see it in Storage settings
A: This feature has been moved to Developer settings, and will reset to default (Charging) after every reboots. Enable developer options first by tapping 7 times on Build number in About phone section >> Go to Developer settings >> Select USB configuration. The fastest way to do this is plug in your USB with your PC, scroll down notification bar and tap on "USB for Charging"
Q: Where's the "running" section in Apps settings?
A: It has been cut off separately to Memory setting and "Running services" in Developer settings. You can see the memory used by apps for a period of time and closing apps too, but they won't disappear in the menu, and in "Running services", still same as old-fashioned running apps section
Q: My phone is slow as snail after installing ROM. I've tried restoring stock and do formattings but no help?
A: I have answered this question. See this post: Link

I'll surely test this one, when I'll be free.

This is a port of OMNIRom 6.0.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (2016) LTE SM-T285. OMNI is a minimalist ROM created by devs from the CM project.
5.1.1 is the best that you can get from samsung right now and it is not known if they plan to do any upgrades. I have absolutely no idea why samsung chose to stay with the outdated 5.1.1 mid 2016 when we already got 7.1 coming out. This custom rom is probably the best you can get if you want an upgrade from Lollipop. Performance on the latest build is also better, you be the judge.
Though this is stable enough that I use it currently as my daily driver, make sure you read the pending issues below and decide if this is acceptable to you before you flash this rom. This rom probably won't get much use out of some people until bluetooth is fixed.
Based off on OMNIRom 6.0.1 MOB31K sources which is based on Marshmallow.
For more information on OMNIRom and its features see their site here.

Update Dec 8, 2016
===============
* Fixed sideloading apks from internal sd card
* Fixed selection of preferred network mode
* Enable soft navigation bar (googe now on tap should work with this)
* Adjust heap settings
Works:
- Wifi/LTE/SMS (Some users report data intermittently not connecting, though toggling airplane mode on/off can fix it)
- Audio
- Graphics with glitches (minor screen tearing, blank screen showing up on overlays)
- Camera (works if a third party camera app is used. Does not work on the stock camera app)
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- Wifi Hotspot
- Incoming/Outgoing Calls
- MTP
Does not work:
- Calls (Incoming)
-- MTP (Browse Only)
- probably more (need testers)
Bugs/Known Issues
* Bluetooth A2DP streaming issues when both bluetooth and Wifi is on and network traffic is occuring. There are reports that this also happens in order ROMs, not sure if stock also has this issue.
* Screen turns upside down for a brief moment when turning off the device.
* Unable to select preferred network mode e.g. LTE, 3G, 2G (fixed 12/08/2016)
* Error while entering USSD code in the dailer
* Unable to tap to install apks for sideloading (see workaround below)(fixed 12/08/2016)
* Problems recording video
Other Notes:
- selinux permissive
Most of the issues are fixable, I just need more time and encouragement
SM-T280 Users: Unfortunately this rom would probably not work on it since the SM-T285 and SM-T280 have different kernels and slightly different hardware. I don't have access to this device so it would be hard for me to port it over. However I believe there are a lot of similiarities in the device tree that can be shared. If a dev with the SM-T280 is interested I can probably help.
Download
========
Remember flashing an unofficial ROM on your samsung device will probably void your warranty, Samsung representatives will probably not be able to help you as they are still stuck at 5.1.1 land as of now and have no idea how to handle a Sm-T285 that is running 6.0.1.
As always flash this at your own risk. Make sure you have a copy of the stock ROM so that you have something to fall back to, which is highly the case when using an experimental rom.
See DevDB download section for older releases. Or click below for the latest release:
Build Dec 9 2016
Note that this rom is pure stock and does not come with the Play Store or any Gapps, I suggest you download a micro gapps package separately and install it via recovery.
There have been reports that recent versions of open gapps don't work properly, it is advised to use older versions instead (e.g. open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20161109.zip)
Installation Instructions
==================
Perform a backup of all of your important files. This ROM is experimental and I will not be responsible for your loss of data.
Download the zip file and extract the tar.
Use Odin/Heimdall to flash the tar file to your device. If you are coming from stock oranother rom make sure you wipe first using TWRP. Coming from a previous version of OMNIRom for SM-T285 may not require a wipe, however please perform a wipe if you encounter problems.
Root and customization
===================
This ROM is a purely based on source and is not rooted out of the box. However you can easily root it by using TWRP to install the latest version of SuperSU.
If you want to customize this ROM and repackage it you may use this guide as a reference.
Workaround for apk install issue
=========================
Due to a possible bug with how sdcardfs is implemented in this device, apks downloaded externally and placed in external storage like Download show the apk is corrupt error when trying to install it.
however you can do a workaround by having root and doing the following:
1. Root your device (Download SuperSU and install via TWRP)
2. Download root file explorer
3. Using root file explorer move your apk to /data/local/tmp or create a folder under /data/local and move it there
4. Install the apk from that location and it should work.
Note that apps downloaded from the play store or install using "adb install" are not affected and works properly.

I hope you will keep at this. This device needs marshmallow..
Great ROM! It is surprisingly usable, even at this stage of development, and feels far faster than stock. In addition to the bugs you mentioned, I also found out that apps will not install. Attempts at installation trigger a 'this package seems to be corrupt' error. Did anyone else encounter this problem?

Many thanks for your hardwork jedld
build 20161104 is now available. GPS and bluetooth should now be fixed. Most of the hardware support for the SM-T285 seems to be working on a basic level, I am now attempting to use it as my daily driver.
Though bluetooth seems to work I haven't tested all possible bluetooth profiles yet, so keep your fingers crossed.
The remaining major issues are being unable to make/receive calls, Graphics overlay issues, being unable to play some video content in facebook (not sure if DRM related or Graphics related) and MTP.
There are also minor issues related to battery monitoring and screen flipping when going into low power mode.
I don't usually use this tablet to make/recieve calls so I am currently fixing graphics as a priority.
I use this tablet as a phone constantly so please get the calls working!! Great job so far!!!

Nice catch on the wifi hotspot.
For the apk installation problem, yes I am able to replicate it, turns out to be some permissions I incorrectly set for the filesystem, will investigate. However note that using adb install works fine.

I don't recommend you use this as a daily driver, but it should be good enough for some. Make sure you read the pending issues below and decide if this is acceptable to you before you flash this rom.
Based off on LineageOS 14.1 sources which is based on Nougat 7.1.2

Update October 5, 2017
==================
- Security updates (October 5 patches, blueborne fix)
- updated kernel to 3.10.107
Update September 27, 2017
======================
This is more of an upstream refresh release and some updates to graphics
- Latest upstream changes from Lineageos
- Using source compiled gralloc build. Seems to speed things up
- now using Android N audio policy config xml files. This should allow for a bit more options for tweakers
- Linux kernel now updated to 3.10.106
Update August 21, 2017
=================
hotfix release: fixed audio_policy.conf file which causes earphones not to register.
Update August 20, 2017
=================
Minor updates:
- alarm clock bug seems to have been fixed
- Update android build to NJH47F
- Added microG patches (https://github.com/microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore/blob/master/patches/android_frameworks_base-N.patch)
Update June 27, 2017
================
Added a build with Substratum OMS support. Please visit the download section, OMS builds should have a -OMS in its archive name. Use this build if you are into themes and want to use Substratum. For details on substratum please visit the relevant forums.
Update June 26, 2017
================
- Enabled hw decoders (should speed up videos and reduce cpu usage), some glitches can still occur though
- Updated Mali userspace and kernel drivers, use updated gralloc and hwcomposer (Should speed up UX)
- Added NTP settings for GPS
- Updated to LineageOS build NJH47B with June 5 security patches
- Fixed KSM causing a battery drain
- A number of tweaks that I can't remember
- issues: Camera won't work with the stock camera app. Seems to work under third party apps. Video is still broken though.
As usual hit the download section for both the newest and oldest builds. This build also uses an experimental kernel under the performance_2 branch:
https://github.com/jedld/kernel_samsung_gtexslte/tree/performance_2
This build is still alpha so there might still be issues.
Update June 5, 2017
================
minor fixes
- Fix wifi hotspot
- Added GPS patches by @Vagr9K (gps should at least load in apps)
Update May 28, 2017
================
- Fix lock screen
- Incorporate kernel fixes c/o @Vagr9K
- Fix bluetooth
- Update to 7.1.2 Nougat N2G470
Update Feb 12, 2017
===============
- really fix mtp and usb connectivity
- There is a bug where pattern unlock won't show up even when you swipe up in the lockscreen. As a workaround make sure you select "Directly show pattern view" in the "pattern unlock settings" page (Click on the settings knob besides the Screen Lock option). If you somehow forget to do this, you can click on a notification to force pattern unlock to show up, if you don't have notifications, connect your device to USB and the charing notification should show up.
Update Feb 11, 2017
===============
- Improved graphics, HW composer, gralloc built from source and updated Mali drivers
- F2FS support for data partition
Update Jan 31, 2017
===============
Bundled with the new perf+ kernel that I am using for the CM-13 buids
Works:
- Wifi/SMS
- Mobile Data (Need to restart once after first boot)
- Audio
- Graphics
- Incoming/Outgoing Calls
- MTP
- Camera (Stills capture works with 3rd party apps)
- Bluetooth
- Wifi Hotspot
Does not work:
- video recording (sometimes works with 3rd party apps like open camera)
- GPS (no fix)
Issues
* Stability issues and some boot loops (Try to disable hardware GPS, or location services which may solve it)
* Wifi and network performance issues when both bluetooth and wifi is on and vice versa (needs confirmation from testers). I'm not sure if this problem also happens under stock. So if someone can give me feedback that would be appreciated.
* Setting alarms using the stock clock app will crash your tablet, use third party apps instead (this is a bug in upstream LineageOS and not related to this device)
Not essential but still needs to worked on
- HW encoders (06/26/2017 hw decoders now supported)
Other Notes:
- selinux permissive
Most of the issues are fixable, I just need more time and encouragement
SM-T280 Users: Unfortunately this rom would probably not work on it since the SM-T285 and SM-T280 have different kernels and slightly different hardware. I don't have access to this device so it would be hard for me to port it over. However I believe there are a lot of similiarities in the device tree that can be shared. If a dev with the SM-T280 is interested I can probably help.
Download
========
Remember flashing an unofficial ROM on your samsung device will probably void your warranty, Samsung representatives will probably not be able to help you as they are still stuck at 5.1.1 land as of now and have no idea how to handle a SM-T285 that is running 7.1.
As always flash this at your own risk. Make sure you have a copy of the stock ROM so that you have something to fall back to, which is highly the case when using an experimental rom.
See DevDB download section. Or get the latest version LINEAGE-OMS-14.1-20181117-UNOFFICIAL-SMT285-ALPHA.zip
For Older Versions/OMS builds see downloads sections:
All Downloads
Note that this rom is pure stock and does not come with the Play Store or any Gapps, I suggest you download a micro gapps package separately and install it via recovery.
There have been reports that recent versions of open gapps don't work properly, it is advised to use older versions instead (e.g. open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20161109.zip)
Installation Instructions
==================
Perform a backup of all of your important files. This ROM is experimental and I will not be responsible for your loss of data.
Download the zip file and extract the tar.
Use Odin/Heimdall to flash the tar file to your device. If you are coming from stock or another rom make sure you wipe first using TWRP. DO NOT USE twrp to flash these zip files, they are not configured for that.
Root and customization/ Build Guide
===================
LineageOS unlike Cyanogenmod does not come with root. However you can easily root it by using TWRP to install the latest version of SuperSU.
If you want to customize this ROM and/or repackage it you may use this guide as a reference.

Awesome work!
wow! Thanks jedid!
EDIT 2 amazing...wifi, cellular data for internet, sms, mms, calls all work (and no echo!)
as you wrote...mms (data) and internet (data) work after the 1st reboot
not yet installed gapps
slower than cm13 but an incredible start! (compare with tab s, s2 that even have official marshmallow and even nougat coming or already there for the tab s2 that have all call and data issues...this one is simply a great feat!)
only thing for some reason it will not automatically get the time and day from the cellular network
EDIT 3
a TWRP backup would not restore properly-android.phone.com errors (no root no gapps just basic setup)
strange thing when I flashed gapps (full not pico from Oct for 7.1) had all kinds of google apps force-closes and the network would not connect easily-it did but the errors never ended so I ended up trying to go back to the twrp backup which is when I got the android. phone.com stopped error (repeatedly coming)
am redoing the installation now (maybe was a bad twrp backup cannot know for sure)

Also happened to me. What I did was to rewipe after Gapps and it worked OK after that. Also set GPS to power saving
issues just reporting...updates
by rewipe do you mean wipe dalvik and cache? thx
edit
for time i just unchecked the auto time zone and manually selected my time zone...the time and day are now correct (but it is an issue..understand way early)
few things
the file manager seems to be missing the root option in general settings and prompts to add root permissions when the option does not show up (maybe because it has no CM root? and that an SU root is secondary? even if cm root is not set?)
the clock has the similar type of error as in cm13 (extreme only?)..try setting up alarm and it freezes when tapping OK to set alarm and then reboots (bootloops just as getting to android is starting message) (need to delete clock data in twrp)
no speakerphone but that has been absent anyway in cm13 and omni as well and the previous cm14
also problem connecting to the computer choosing mtp protocol the usb debugging and the connection option notifications vanish (even if set to always show) (think it does not do anything and remains in charge mode) through dev menu in settings it appears picture transfer may be set
the above are minor irritants given all the other things that are working! thanks
EDIT3
gapps 7.1 pico 20161024 worked no need for dalvik and cache wipe
Hello
Can you fix GPS? The Rom is nice but i really Hard ned GPS. Or give IT nö Chance to fix GPS?

I see a path forward to fix it, but it will require more time to do so.

I did a full data wipe after gapps, then it worked. Flashing gapps after going through a first boot seems to cause problems.
@jedid
Ok i hope IT give a fix for GPS. Then ist Use it as Daily.

the gapps 7.1 pico 20161024 worked without any dalvik wipe (not sure what happened earlier but suspect it was because i used a full stock although of the recommended timeframe of oct 2016 (7.1 only goes back to that month anyway)
Used it the whole day..calls text mms browsing
root explorer would not work (blank screen upon opening)-am using Fx explorer (root which does a great job anyway especially if pasting entire folders into system app/priv-app folders-sets the permissions automatically and correctly)
camera does not work known anyway (was not coming up on 2nd/3rd try)
lte signal similar to cm13 (omni is still fastest to get on and stick)
but at times happened at least 5 times and in static position that the internet signal would drop and then come back (so somewhat finicky there)
lag is there when opening certain apps-just sits there
happens at times when pressing ok button in say some app where you have to accept or reject
but alpha...known and/or expected
don't about bluetooth headset, netflix, audio sophisticated stuff..not into these/kept up with the times
youtube works no issues
odd thing if some app or function fails for some reason it says browser stopped...will have to note down which ones gave that error that had nothing to do with the internet browser (opera beta that I use works no issues as does the built-in browser...unless the data signal drops for some reason-then have to turn off and on the data/or even toggle airplane mode to restart the radio)
Just like your other alpha builds, this is really good; great work! Subjectively, the ROM feels quite fast.
The bugs I noticed were:
1. MTP is not working for me
2. Scrolling was smooth, but slow, and eventually got jerky over time
3. The tablet can be detected by other devices when Bluetooth is on, but it cannot receive any files
4. For some reason, CM Transfer - I did not test other apps that use the same approach to transfer files - is not working

Was this device made with Android 7.1 in mind? Some time last year, when I was trying to install a ROM using Flashfire, I noticed that this device seems to have two data partitions. After installing this ROM, the tablet reported that the total 'shared' internal memory was around 8GB, rather than the usual five-or-so gigabytes. I was very surprised

Didn't notice MTP wasn't working will take a look at it.
As for bluetooth it is still essentially broken in this build.

There are changes to how /data is structured but it is still one partition from what I know. It is still a mystery to me how it computes storage especially if you set your external sd card as adoptable, it could probably combine the size of both system and data in that report.

.now on a 2nd installation..TWRP backup restore runs into issues (twice now) (only on lineage not cm14.1/13.1/omni) get android.phone stopped issue.
mtp issues..yes in #4 "also problem connecting to the computer choosing mtp protocol the usb debugging and the connection option notifications vanish (even if set to always show) (think it does not do anything and remains in charge mode) through dev menu in settings it appears picture transfer may be set"
it shows up for selection but does not work (sits in charge mode)...I think the picture transfer appears to get set...will check again and try to restore the backup without data

anyone here having issues restoring from twrp backup (tried 3 times now each time it fails with looping android.phone crashes-muting the app then toggling airplane mode to restart the radio does not work) basically have to set it up and use it (the rom) but cannot try anything else (or have a backup that can be used in case things go wrong)...ran into the same clock issue as on cm13 (extreme only?) ...could not get out of the rebooting loop (tried deleting data for the desk clock) and then twrp backup would not work either
thanks
edit
I am able to restore without data (so have to set up again including supersu but at least it avoids the odin flashing part)
Seems the alarm clock issue happens on all LineageOS roms and not just mine. Their advice is to just get another app from the app store while they are fixing it.
Hi, thanks for continuing to work on this device.
Sadly, I have (or rather my granny does) a SM-T280... In the last thread there was someone who wanted to try to port to the T280, is there still work going on?
Also can I help? I am not really a developer, but a tinkerer; and I am fed up enough by the Samsung nonsense to try and help (as long as I can be reasonably certain to be able to restore the tablet to a working state even if I mess up, it's not mine after all^^)
SM-T285
:crying:
Just bought SM-T285 yesterday.
Last night I look in youtube on how to root my Samsung Tab A 7.0.
Me, as the stupid human followed the tutorial installing the img then poof! BOOTLOOP.
(looking for stock rom to flash it tru Odin)
Newbie here guys!
I know you can find ways to fix it.
We can wait..
Hello, can you port this for the T580? I kinda really hate CrapWiz

sorry if not valid here..
jedid, it seems the ftp issue is still there? as before checking or selecting the ftp option simply removes the toggle from the notification (does not show up until next reboot) and does not connect the drives to the computer
also not sure if you were looking at this issue but need to manually select the network time zone (does not automatically detect)
automatic takes it to GMT
