Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using android 6.0 but I've facing this problem.. The ram usage are very high.. can someone explain for me?

Which ROM?
Hello and thank you for using Q/A,
please tell me which ROM you are using.
Kind regards
Trafalgar Square

This is pretty much normal on the S3 since it has a small amount of RAM anyways. I get a similar situation on LP but I use Greenify to improve the situation.

Hi boys,
I've been using the xperia u for about a year now and i'm pretty satisfied with it's overall performance, tough i think i'm not using its hardware to the fullest..
I would like to know what your experiences with the XU are and what did you find useful (battery saving, ram cleaning, etc...)?
Even ROM suggestions are welcome!

Phone getting slower

Hi, I got 1 Samsung Galaxy SIII (2013) until now the speed getting slow and every time I switch on my phone, it show that 84% of ram are utilize compare to 1st time is about 60% only, what I hear is that due to the latest android version I use, that consume lot of my Ram....So I think to downgrade my android version. Anyone have same experience or willing to provide me your opinion for this issue...really appreciate if you can help. Thank you alot.

Have you a lots ofs apps or anything else ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Free mobile app
Try reading the many posts on the exact same subject, free ram is not related to speed.
If you really want to speed your phone up then remove all the bloat.
Nope~ my phone is almost empty... maybe alot pic but my phone memory still have 30% empty space...

Flyme OS

Hi Guys!
I've seen that we have Flyme OS support but there is not so much interest in it.I like that is fast and responsive but I don t want to end up with a rom thats worse than Oxygen.
Do you have it installed because I have some questions regarding it,such as:
How is battery life?
How good is it translated to english?
How is the gpu performance?
Does it have stutter?
I have used H2Os for three weeks and it was ok-ish.Is this the same?
Thanks in advace for the replies!

Hi and welcome to XDA.
I would recommend slimsaber 4.4.4 by Fusionjack. It is stable, fast and battery friendly. I'm personally using Fusionjack's build so I dont experience force closures while in GPS.
I thing I would recommend changing in the ROM is the DPI using an app like Textdroider so that it is easier to navigate through the UI. The default DPI of the S2 is 240.
The reason why I recommend a KitKat ROM over Marshmallow for example is because Marshmallow and newer android versions will never be as smooth as older versions of android. Battery life is a lot worse and not very easy to switch to for beginners.
For best stability and battery life, stick with Stock Jelly Bean.

What I meant was android lollipop and marshmallow is a lot more resource heavy. Our device doesn't have much RAM so it can have negative effects to performance and battery life.

I recommend CM 10.2

Normal, and on stock rooted Oreo it's very smooth.

In summary, you don't need "free" RAM on Android... the OS is designed to utilize it as much as possible, because that's how the system will be faster and more efficient. FYI, windows has started to do this as well... though not to the degree Linux/Android do it. Free RAM =/= faster machine these days.
I don't necessarily agree with the need to turn off Wifi, BT, etc... but you certainly can if you really don't use those features much. For example, I rarely use BT (we use my wife's phone usually, since I'm the one driving in most cases).
