Hi everyone, like the title says, I want to know how you can stop FB from being active all the time. There are allways 2 processes running and if you stop them, after a while they come back.
What is the best thing you can do? I don't want to delete it, I just want it to be active when I use it and deactivate it afterwards.
Grtz
Why does it matter that its running?
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
Isn't there an option under development in settings where you can set it to kill every app when you exit it? I've never tried it so I don't know how it works.
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
I've used that option a few times when background applications are slowing down my games. I usually get a lot of messages following up after saying "Unfortunately, X has stopped." over and over until I turn it back off.
Do you want it to stop to save ram or to save data?
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
To save RAM and to save battery life off course!
Also Maps, Update Center And Office Suite are allways running. I want them to be inactive unless I need them.
Just remove it and use Friendcaster, WAY better.

Go to settings - apps - all and click on maps - disable, office suite - uninstall, facebook - disable, update center - force stop, and after you do this, go to running apps, kill them and then go to cache and clear this apps from there.. They won't start again.. Remove all the bloatware like foursquare, wisepilot etc which you dont need.. You can also disable timescape feeds, picasa and twitter.
And an advice.. Download ex-dialer and then disable contacts and phone.. You would love it
I have some questions..can anybody point out as which are ohk to freeze and which are not? Coz somedays back i tried freezing some apps and my Playstore app started giving me weird errors as 406-cant download. Find out later that you cant freeze Package Installer or Package Access Helper. Unfroze them again and its all good. Anywayz here are some apps which am highly doubtful about..

Just a quick question, i rooted my z2 the other night, mainly to remove a few system apps..... facebook you gotta go lol
Anyway i was wondering, with the new changes in kitkat, i dont remember full details but there was something about uninstalling apps also uninstalling associated folders files etc to do with said app, how does this affect system apps, are there now useless inbuilt apps that were previously safe to remove that now maybe arent coz they share a folder with an important app or anything like that i should be aware of before i start removing things, maybe thats why 'disable' option was added?
sorry for spelling/grammer, im tired n cant be bothered t check things
Hmm im not sure what your asking but
Disabling apps doesent remove their data
Removing apps via root deletes the app not the data, the OS should remove the data
Could you specify your question or problem?

In the end yeah a list would be cool..... but what i mean is: say you install a picture editor, edit a couple of pics then delete app. On earlier versions of android only the app would be removed, and apparently on kitkat it will remove app, edited pics, any folders app created etc....
I was just wondering if any system apps share folders or resources or whatever, thereby possibly altering functionality/performance of one app when i uninstall a different one.
I had a picture editor and i edited a pic, deleted the app and the pic was still there
I have never heard of this before and i dont think its a easily possible to implement in android

I think if you use Titanium Backup to delete apps it removes all the apps related files too. Except user created files.

This should only happen if the app stores the edited pics in its own private folder.
If it uses the common public Pictures folder that won't happen.

yeah, i know i just used pics as an example, i remember reading about it when i was looking to get a new phone, something about the system cleaning itself up after uninstalling, so you're not left with all the useless pics (on my galaxy note, a couple of emulators created a folder in my gallery for all the on screen buttons n stuff, which i had to delete 1 by 1 after uninstalling the apps) n folders n backgroud processes n whatnot.
Back when i first rooted my note, i referred to a list of things safe to remove, some of these were like background processes or something but if i remember correctly, a few of them were used by more than one application, so if was wondering if system/root apps behave the same as user installed ones when uninstalled on kitkat with the cleaning up, and if they do maybe something that would have previously been safe to remove, now isnt because it would clean up (delete) something that was also being used by a different app
In the last few days, somewhere in the xperia Z2 section I saw a thread with a list of system apps/bloatware that are safe to remove or freeze. But I can't find it now.
Hey. The title says the most. Which System apps (there are so many) can i Greenify on my Xperia z5 premium with root and xposed without crashing the phone (reboots or so)?
Should i upload a list which apps are there to make it easier for you?

My advice is, don't. I haven't greenified any system apps.
Many of them will crash the system and there are no standard lists for greenifying system apps. It all will depend on your particular scenario.
If you are adventurous and have a nandroid backup, try one by one.
Hi Everyone.
I just purchased a Verizon LG V30 VS996 and I have been installing all of my apps and setting up phone.
Last night I removed a bunch of apps using ADB that I thought were not needed (im sure most were not), but I realized this morning I have no contacts in Google Contacts. I deleted the built in contacts app last night. I cant add any contacts, when I try to it says No App was found to handle this function.
Does anyone have the Stock contacts or dialer apk from LG so I can reinstall it and have access to all my contacts again.
I prefer not to factory reset and set everything up from scratch again.
Thanks,
Ben

So what have I accidentally uninstalled through ADB that may have caused my contacts to disappear and not be able to add any new contacts in ?
I have tried 3 contacts apps from Google Play and I have the same issue with them all.

No idea. You shouldn't delete things without knowing what they are. Contacts app is exactly that. A contacts app, plus dialer. Contacts aren't stored in any dialer.
Did you delete Contacts Storage? Any sync or cloud service apps? Any Google services?
Try a factory reset.

I believe I deleted something called cloud, but the icon was red leading me to believe it was Verizon bloat and not something necessary. Didn't delete anything Google and don't think any thing with the sync related.
If you had disabled it with package disabler, you could simply re-enable it. Deleting with ADB doesn't really accomplish anything. It doesn't give you more space to use. You only have access to the user partition to install/store data. Those apps removed via ADB are in the system partition.
So, disabling with package disabler or using ADB has the same effect for a non-rooted user -- EXCEPT when you need to add something back you messed up your phone by deleting... in that case, simply disabled wins every time as it's an easy fix.
I haven't disabled anything on my V30+ and my phone runs fast. But then I have the open market LG US998, which has no carrier bloatware.

I would like to have the Google Apps and I don't want the LG apps in my App Drawer.
If I disable those apps with package disabler then will they still be in my app drawer?
Will package disabler disable only the LG apps or the Verizon ones too ?
Thanks,
Ben

It's a package disable. It disables packages (ie apps). Have you never went into the settings and disabled an app before? Because that's what it does.

What @partylikeaninjastar said. The "package disabler" (app disabler) disables apps. The difference is it lets you also disable SYSTEM APPS which non-rooted users can't easily do. Carriers like Verizon often make their bloatware be "system" apps so they can't easily be disabled like user apps.
But the danger is there are essential or at least quite useful apps you should not disable. And they are NOT classified as "essential" or "useful". They are just all there. LGSetup Wizard controls Always on Display. It's not just for "setup". Stuff like that.
This is a flashable zip to delete all unnecessary stock apps using custom recovery.
You must have TWRP/RWRP installed (Guide to achieve this is HERE).
This zip is usable for both Stock and Custom ROMs.
Benefits :
More system space.
Better battery.
Cleaner app drawer.
List of apps removed :
Asus Service Center
Asus Calculator
Bloatware apps (Babe,Lazada,Shopee)
Facebook
Go2Pay
Google Calender
Google Drive
Google Duo
Google Mail
Google Maps
Google Messeging
Google Movies and TV
Google Music
Google Photos
Google Search
Instagram
Redundant wallpapers
YouTube
To install,
Download attached Debloat script.
Backup Data and everything else necessary.
REMEMBER this is tested on my primary device but the risk is entirely yours if you try this.
I will try to help in case of issues.
If on Android Pie then first mount /system partition in TWRP.
Flash via Recovery (nothing to be cleaned after flash)
Reboot.
If you see any of the above system app in app drawer after flashing this - then it is left due to App updates. You can uninstall them like a regular app and they won't bother you again.
Please create single file with Aroma support so people can decide what they want to uninstall.

I'm having problem with multi touch, it's annoying when playing games.
And sometimes my phone took so long to charge. I tried using stock adapter, and ugreen with quick charge 3.0. But still doesn't make any difference. So i think it's software related issue.
Can you make a fix for these problem? Like custom kernel so it can charge faster?

I can work on with the help of similar fix used in Pixel phones. A magisk based solution but it will be fixed officially with next OTA containing June security patch so not worth the effort.
Wait for OTA it is android bug.

WebView is just an additional app for me .. I use Chrome Dev which can provide me WebView.
I use Google Inbox and user should have an ability to remove this app.
Calendar plugin is just an addon for people who do not use Google Calendar to keep track of shedules.
It's all personal opinion and most of the apps are available in PlayStore so you have the alternate to install the apps as user apps.
