Recommendation for Photos app - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So like most people, I take lots of photos on my phone.
I'd like the following:
1. Local backup of original photos
2. Photos in albums online
3. Ability to securely share (ie. not public link)
4. Mirror of photos on phone so I can view without internet (lower quality cached version is fine)
This is my current process.
1. Sort through and delete crappy photos
2. Adjust photo RGB curves for dynamic range (A Better Camera would do this automatically, but my new phone doesnt support it)
3. Copy photos to computer.
4. Sometimes I filter them through Noise Ninja, if I do, then I copy the new ones back to my phone.
5. Sort them into folders/albums
6. Upload via Picasa
Now I can view photos on the web or phone sorted into albums.
Problems:
1. Picasa wont upload at the new higher quality
2. Process is tedious
3. Google Photos doesnt seem to keep a cached copy so what's left on my phone is the original camera roll which isnt sorted into albums. I could do that ofcourse, but then I'm doing everything twice.
4. No "auto-back" so if I ever lose my phone, I lose whatever I have processed yet.
Google Photos seems pretty good if I use their auto-backup. I could then copy all the photos to my computer as well so I have a backup of the originals. However, then I still have to sort into albums twice.
I'd appreciate any suggestions that would allow me to do what I'm looking for.

[Q] Photo Library Resizing

I know that this is not really a Tab question but since I have one, I thought that I would post it here.
I would like to have my huge photo library stored in the cloud and accessible from an app such as Dropbox, Minus or any of the other similar services. The problem is that the file size of most of my photos is a couple GB per image. I do not have an unlimited amount of storage in my Cloud accounts. Also, I do not need to be able to access full size image files when simply viewing them on my Tab.
Has anyone found an app or service that will go through a library of images, resize them to something appropriate for viewing on a 10 inch tablet and create a new lighter image library that could be stored in the cloud?
In order to be useful, this should be a one-click batch mode process and have the ability to update itself as new images are added to the full size photo library.
Has anyone seen anything like this?
I look forward to being enlightened.

WP8 / lumia 920 - Photo organizer

I have the L920 and just getting used to the WP8 OS but there are a few functions i like to have
1. Organize my pictures into folders - instead of how they are now (all in one pile)
2. Ability to control whats on live tile
3. lock some pictures such as private or not in live view
The most important for me to have the ability to organize my pictures while Im using the phone (not connected to laptop).

Click to collapse
1. This is easy to do if you
Sync photos to SkyDrive/Facebook, or PC (via Windows Phone app)
Sort into folders on SkyDrive/Facebook, or PC
Files will sync back to device in folders
Also, in the Pictures hub, try clicking "date" and then click one of the theme-colored dates to bring up a sorted list. This way you can quickly access photos without a lot of scrolling!
2. "Favorited" photos will appear on the live tile and as the Pictures hub background. Pictures > Favorites
3. Use Photo Lock or similar.
As for on-device sorting, I don't think you can right now (maybe SkyDrive app or Facebook app workaround?). I'm still on WP7.5 though so I'm not 100% sure on that.

picture highlights

I was curious if anyone knows of a way to make the One create a event highlight of photos not taken with the One? I'm curious as I would like it to create One of photos that i had sent to me and from facebook. My friend just had a baby and wanted me to have it create one for them.
I have the photos stored locally on the phone and even stored them in the folder with the photos that are taken by the One. I tried renaming them so they are in direct order after the last picture I took but have had no luck. All of the pictures have a date taken property filled in as well but that didn't make any difference.
Thank you

[Q] Sync folder to <x> storage

Hey everyone,
I've been googling for many hours. I've been to many shady places. But I've come up empty handed.
I'm basically looking for an app, that can provide syncronisation between a folder on my device, and a folder on <insert cloud storage here>.
I'm personally trying to migrate away from Dropbox, of which I've been a heavy user for many years. But in the light of the recent NSA gate, I thought I'd take a look what else is out there. I've chosen MEGA, as they provide (on paper) the security I like, and enough storage for my cloud-storage-needs.
I've been using Dropbox to automatically store the images I've taken with my phone camera and I take a backup of my texts every night at 2pm, which is also, automagically, uploaded to Dropbox. The official MEGA app takes care of the first, but the latter is taken care of within the backup app itself. It can be disabled, though.
I've looked for sync apps, but neither those or apps like Helium doesn't support MEGA.
So dear XDA,
Is there hope for me?
ownCloud provides universal access to your files via the web, your computer or your mobile devices — wherever you are.
It also provides a platform to easily view & sync your contacts, calendars and bookmarks across all your devices and enables basic editing right on the web.

Google Keep Notes Not Displaying Images

This is a new problem with Google Keep Notes on my Google Pixel 3A XL.
Some images attached to notes suddenly do not display within the Keep Notes app on my phone. There is no technical reason for why some display and others don’t that I can determine. All images, however, display correctly in the browser version of Keep Notes. It appears to have nothing to do with whether the image is a PNG or JPG or the size of the image (I've made them all smaller—it made no difference).
I have tried all the usual trouble-shooting steps to no avail (stopping and restarting the app, clearing the app cache, restarting the phone). I don’t want to uninstall and reinstall the app, since I don’t know if I will lose my Notes and Images.
Trying to get help directly from Google seems to be impossible.
Thanks for any ideas anyone may have.
Having the same problem here
Google Keep saves all your notes in the cloud. If the app is misbehaving, simply delete the app data and launch it. Your notes will automatically download from the cloud.
