Casting full screen - Dell Venue

Hi there, I am trying to decide between a Dell Venue 10 7000 (looks great) and a Samsung Tablet S2 .
The Dell ticks all the boxes but I have seen enough people say they cant cast their screen to a Chromecast. I want this feature because I run some video apps such as NBC Sports Live which dont have Chromecast built in and I want to stream them wirelessly on TV. I can do it with my old Nexus 7 2013 beautifully.
Can anyone definitively verify if they can cast screen (not an app) to a Chromecast?
If its not possible how is it when you cast screen to a Dellcast (which I presume I plug into HDMI port on Samsung tv). Is it laggy or perfect?
Thanks,
Simon

Sorry, replied thinking you were talking about venue 7840. My mistake.

Allshare Cast & Share Shot

Hi,
I just want to understand how Allshare Cast and Share Shot are used. These features are not described fully anywhere. At least, I couldn't find a good source.
My first question is about Screen Sharing with Allshare Cast:
How can I share my S3 screen to other devices ? Which devices support receiving of S3 screen from Allshare Cast ?
Can I share screen of an S3 to another S3 ?
What about Samsung D series TV ? Can we share S3 screen to D series TV ?
the other question is about Share Shot:
I can successfully share shot from one S3 to another S3. The photo taken, goes to the other S3 quickly.
However, one of my colleagues told me that the camera screen could also be shared live to the other S3. Is that possible ? How ?
Thanks.
does anyone have any knowledge about this ?
allshare cast
hi
allshare cast is for a new samsung dongle like apples airplay
its a little gadget that have hdmi out to put in tv
you pair your phone with it and then you can stream sound/pictures/video
up to 1080p
allshare shot is what i think a way of sharing photos to allshare capable devices
like phones and tablets
spillyft
yes I know that but allshare cast works on new generation Samsung TVs without a need for any dongle.
I just wonder if it would be possible to do it on older TV ?
As i know its from gen8 tv and up

I am currently waiting for my AllShare Cast Dongle (will be out end of August over here in Asia as per supplier).
You can use the AllShare Cast Dongle, as I understood, with any TV with HDMI in and it will support in addition to the usual Photo & Video sharing via e.g. your Samsung Smart TV also screen mirroring. (see also: http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/allshare-cast-wireless-streaming-dongle-samsung-galaxy-s-iii/).
Allshare works with my WDTV Live, not with Netgear Entertainer though.

I have a WiFi dongle(came free with the t.v.) and a 5 series smart tv. I am able to stream videos and pictures but not able to share my screen on tv.

As far as I know this is only possible with the AllShare Cast Dongle
it's too bad that older generation TVs do not support Allshare Cast / Allshare Play.
Especially when D series is just model of 2011.
what about sharing screen between 2 S3 ?

Allshare Cast is a program that will run on the phone and push the screen of the phone to Samsung SmartTV's when it's released. The dongle is a separate piece of hardware used for non-Samsung tv's to do the same thing. Since I can't post links yet Samsung's global page shows how they both work and the Allshare Cast is listed as "Will be available soon."
anything new about this ?

[Q] Want to stream video from phone to Vizio Smart TV

Hey guys, does anybody know of an app or a method that will allow me to stream video (not YouTube or Netflix) to my Vizio Smart TV? It's a really new TV with all kinds of features...I know I could simply hook up my MacBook to an HDMI port or even stream video via Apple TV, but I don't usually have those things in my living room. I'm just basically hoping to be able to stream a movie playing from an app like Showbox(or something similar to) to my TV, without any wiring. Samsung's screen mirroring feature would be ideal...if it wasn't limited to ONLY working with other Samsung products Anyways...please, if you can let me know of anything you've heard of, or have used that might make this possible, it would be greatly appreciated!!:fingers-crossed:
Unless Vizio has some type of app for their TV that I never heard of, there needs to be hardware plugged into the TV that receives the stream. Cheapest and easiest way to do this with android is a Chromecast, $35 bucks, I believe it can or soon will be able to fully mirror your screen no special root app required.
you can use the mdl to hdmi adapter from Sammy and keep a spare (but hidden) hdmi cable plugged into the tv. As far as wireless Chromcast
Did you find a solution?
Did you find an App solution for this? I recently purchased a Vizio and looking for the same?
Can some one help me play videos from phone to my vizo 70 inch smart tv I've tried everything the closest thing I've come up with is I media share but it doesn't allow me to watch it always states video, audio not supported
You need something on the TV Side - I used Fire TV stick

[Q] [Question] Chromecast Mirroring

Hey Guys,
Im using a tab pro 12.2 and running stock rooted deodexed, and Im wondering if I buy the chromecast dongle - will I be able to mirror my device straight to the screen (I want to mirror custom videos not through youtube etc) with mxplayer pro. My TV doesnt have any sort of wifi, but it does have a hdmi slot - hence going with chromecast.
Pixel
Yes there are ways to do this
The TV doesn't need WiFi, just your home and device (tablet, phone, PC)
I can only cast screen natively from my nexus devices or PC but there are apps that allow for this
Check the Chromecast threads for more info
Oh, and the best $35 I ever spent, over a year now and still use it daily
Ok thanks, didnt realise there was a specific chromecast forums

[Q] cast screen to my toshiba android tv

Guys want to get my n9 LTE tab screen displayed on my Toshiba android TV.
With my Samsung note 2 the screen mirroring works superb by which I can view my phone screen on the TV whereas with my n9 when I use cast screen in the settings it shows no devices available.
I have installed this app called localcast But still no luck.
Plz help.
Sadly Nexus 9 support screen casting (miracast) to smart tv only if you have Chromecast and configured wifi connection. I'm in same situation,, my nexus can't cast screen to tv only sends videos from YouTube app

Borders left and right when mirroring from Nexus 9?

I wasn't sure if this was just a problem with my device, but I'm running my Nexus 9 on marshmallow and whenever I use the Chromecast to mirror to my TV, there are always borders left and right. This doesn't happen when I'm actually casting video or any apps only when I'm mirroring the Nexus 9 screen. Has anyone else experienced the same issue or can test on their device? Or does anyone know of a solution for this?

The bars are because the N9 has a 4:3 screen, and your TV has a 16:9 screen. Your don't get bars when you cast video because the video plays directly from the internet, not from your N9 screen.
I do recall reading somewhere here on these N9 forums that you can adjust how your screen gets mirrored, but I don't remember if that was just for miracast or also for Chromecast.
I think if you search for CC or MC screen mirroring, you'll find it.

Ah, I found it. It's called SecondScreen
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farmerbb.secondscreen.free
The app requires root, but it works with Chromecast and Miracast.
It sets the resolution of your tablet to match that of your HDTV, so it will completely fill your TV screen. It also let's you adjust the DPI, so text and images don't look so big on your TV.
