Hi,
I would like to use a quick launcher like SlidePad or Smart Task Launcher.
These apps run in the background and allow you to access shortcuts whenever you swipe on pre-defined "hotzones".
Unfortunately it seems like the Honor 7's battery saving features kill these apps whenever I go back to the homescreen. When I am directly inside the mentioned two apps I can use the hotzones. Then, when I press home, the hotzones do not work anymore.
I am on Android 5.1.1 with EMUI 3.1 and as launcher I use Nova Launcher.
What I also tried is enabling those apps as "protected apps" in the phone settings.
Any suggestions?

I know there has been a question about the homescreen icons before but I never saw a resolution to the issue.
Problem: Applications loaded to the SDCard will show the default android icon rather then their own application icons.
I've noticed if I change scenes it will reload the icons and show them like it should, however the next reboot they revert back to the default green android icons.
Any ideas?
If you go to settings, applications, running services, press menu then hit cached services and stop htc sense, it will reload sense with the default icons. easiest way to go about it so far, no fix yet either. Been pissin me off to

Hi there.
I'm looking for a widget task manager (not a task killer, just something that gives me quick access to running tasks), preferably something that shows me running tasks in the widget itself (as oppose to a widget that opens a menu of tasks when pressed).
I use to use the go launcher task manager, that suited my needs perfectly, but as far as I understand it, it's only available with the launcher.
The Active Apps / Task Manager looks good, but only shows the apps themselves in a menu, and not on the "desktop".
So, any recommendations?
Hello. I am using Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, N7000ZSLR1, Android 4.1.2 Hong Kong version. There are something I am not quite satisfied with the ROM, I have rooted my device with Chinese one key root app so I wonder if there are some ways to customize the ROM.
1. The first thing is Notification screen. In this Android 4.1.2, when you pull it down, the shortcuts at the top will first display the tiles in picture 1, then it will automatically swipe to picture 2:
Picture 1:
Picture 2:
Is there any method that can modify / remove tiles at the top? Or at least make it like picture 2 in default when I pull down, no swiping.
2. In this ROM, the Task Manager no longer display in app drawer like Android 2.3.6, instead I need to long press Home button to go to "Recent App" screen and tap the pie chart icon at the lower left corner to open Task Manager. I'm curious, the system app is in \system\app, and it IS an .apk. So I wonder if I can at least make a shortcut from it and add to "Home Screen", I always need to use it and I don't want to download third party app for this shortcut.

3. The default Launcher in the stock ROM is TouchWizHome, and by default there are no indication when you tap an icon to open the app. So I wonder if I can add some "effect" to notify me when I open an app, like dim the icon or glow at the edge of icon.
4. If you are a Titanium Backup user, please tell me that should I wipe system apps' data first before uninstall it. Because it always gives me a feeling of "unclean" if I don't wipe the data before uninstall it. I always uninstall system app to keep my phone slimmer and faster.
Thank you in advance.
I wanted to share an issue that puzzled me for a while. I had issues with App Shortcuts not working. I tried different launchers, and I could not get long presses to give me the shortcuts, for example for Play Store or Settings.
It turns out that a launcher can only show app shortcuts if it's set as the default launcher (in Settings > Apps > Gear Icon > Home App).
So, if launcher long presses, aka. App shortcuts do not work for you, check your default launcher.
Okay, so earlier today I activated the ultra power saving mode on my stock J5 with Nova launcher.
It's pretty debloated with adb commands (uninstall and inactivate), perhaps that's the reason my phone didn't show any battery settings, so I was stuck.
However, I could still longpress on homescreen to add widgets, so
Choose Nova Activities - scroll and choose Settings - scroll and choose Battery. (The one with: ) .powersavingmode.PowerModeChangeDialog.Activity
Now you have a shortcut widget that opens what you need
