Help with XT910 Razr Maxx Europe Retail Soft Brick - Motorola Droid RAZR

So I decided to root my phone and then flash it with Cyanogenmod 12.1 Nightly Build following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr/development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-0-t2950906. Unfortunately I could not install google apps on my phone because the partition created by safestrap was too small, I am used to installing roms that completely replace the old one so I was not expecting this to happen.
So I attempted to install the nightly build on my stock rom in order to get the space that I needed. I made a back up to my SD before formatting the stock rom and attempting to flash nightly to it. However when I turned my phone back on it would boot and then display the android lying on its back with a exclamation mark inside of a triangle. I worked out how to get to the recovery menu from here and attempted to restore the safestrap back up from there but it did not work. I then attempted to update using the cyanogenmod 12.1 zip, at which point I was presented with "installation aborted", I trawled these forums looking for the retail rom, which I found and they gave me the same result. I have tried using the RSD Lite to flash it back to stock and the result is an immediate fail.
In the AP Fastboot menu it was displaying that the battery was ok but that it could not programme. Now, because the amount of time that I have spent trying to fix it, it is displaying that the battery is low and therefore I can no longer flash it.
Can anyone help?

First of all, you need to charge it.
There's a thread, here somewhere that might help you to do so.
Either get a factory cable or you might need to work with your usb cable.
Once you have power, get the right ROM and flash it using RSD.
Its been really long since I had a Razr, but one thing is for sure, you need enough juice in battery.

[Q] Safestrap Stock ROM Slot no bueno, help please!

Hey y'all, here is the situation I need help with....
While I have years of experience flashing, rooting and the rest, I made the noob mistake of not actually paying attention to everything and now I have problems. I have the OG Droid Razr MAXX running the JB Kernel with Safestrap 3.11 installed. While checking out some of the other ROMs out there in various slots I somehow wiped the system on my stock ROM slot, and now cannot get anything to install properly there, and cannot boot from there.
I can run ROMs from the other slots, but have also somehow now horked Slot 1 trying to recover, and have only Slot 2 working. Biggest problem is space available, since the other partitions are still there.
What can I do to just completely start over, with a fully wiped phone since I am now on JB? Not sure if I can go ahead and use Matt's utility or not, I would like to get it as close to factory as possible and then go from there.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Peter
I have done the exact same thing. Have you found a solution yet?
I have no clue how exactly you managed to erase your stock ROM, however, try using Droid Utility 1.82 and restore your phone completely. Then you can re-root your phone and go on from there.
However, this is to be only used with the ICS kernel otherwise you'll brick but you wiped your entire stock ROM which makes me wonder if this would actually work since the stock ROM is now gone and you're running a non-official kernel.
I got the same problem here, i followed (at least I think I did) the tutorial and got myself in the same situation ....
I can't paste links but if someone wants to post this information feel free: h t t p : / / pastebin . com / F8sr8SBm
Essentially you need to flash the stock firmware back on to the device then re-root, I don't believe you can use the stock rom slot for anything but the stock firmware.
Also note that the flash took 10 minutes, but it took about 16 minutes total for the phone to reboot. So once flashed it takes about 6 minutes for Android to boot up.
Now that I think of it, did any of you try to wait for Android to boot up for 10 minutes or more on the stock rom? Anyways I'm back to Square 1 now, at least the phone works.

[Q] XT910 No Stock System, Challenge to restore

Hey everyone.
A bit of background.
The phone is an xt910, Rogers (Canada) originally. Had been rooted, unlocked etc.
I got my hands on it to see if I could get it back to stock and give it to my dad to have smartphone, start getting used to it.
I have been through just about all the information here and many other places for resources/instructions on how to restore and I cannot get past a certain point. I likely spent near 10 hours reading all the information and there are gaps where fastboot is concerned.
As it stands, the phone has BMM 0.3.4, running a CM 10.1.3, but Google apps crash out all the time.
CM is in System_1, which as I understand is not where it should be, hence the need to restore to stock.
I can also get into stock recovery, but not much else.
There simply is no fastboot option available, RSD will not detect (correct drivers are installed in Windows).
Also tried via Linux.
ADB from stock recovery does connect.
I have tried every set of instructions with no success.
How do I reinstall fastboot?
All the directions keep saying fastboot plus RSD lite 6.0, but no info on what to do if the AP fastboot option is no longer working.
Also, attempts to find the official stock JB 4.1.2 for Rogers Canada RAZR have come up with dead links, including the firmware links in these forums.
Can anyone please help, provide resources on what to do here?
RSD is the only tool that can restore or flash the phone to stock state. If it ain't working, you're out of options.
Or you can just stick to CM. If BMM is there, just try reflashing CM with correct gapps.

[Q] [HELP] Verizon GS4 Rooting and Flashing Issues

So, I have never rooted or flashed a device before and I kinda dove into rooting mine and hoped to learn along the way.
I rooted my Verizon Galaxy S4 version i545VRUEMK2, I used this method from a guy on YouTube named Andre Hebra, it's his only video so if you want to see what it was you can find it (sorry couldn't post a link, I'm a forum newb) now I'm rooted but half of the superuser app is in Chinese or Japanese and its kind of annoying but I can figure out what is happening.
Now here is where I started having some trouble, I decided to try and flash a ROM to my device. I was trying to flash CyanogenMod 11 (12/26/13) Nightly (have no idea what nightly means) and I ran into a few problems that I hope some of you guys can help me with. I downloaded Clockwork ROM Manager and Installed a Recovery. I moved the .zip file from the Cyanogen website to the SD card in my phone. And also moved phone's files into a folder on my computer as a backup. I put my phone into recovery mode through the CWM app and cleared the cache and wiped the data. Now, I can't manually enter recovery boot by holding the volume up, power and home buttons, the phone boots up, the Recovery Boot message appears for a split second and then the phone turns off and boots up again into Android. I'm also struggling to figure out how to flash the ROM, shouldn't I be able to use this Clockwork app to install it from my SD card? But when I try and do that the .zip file doesn't show up in the directory. Did I do something wrong? A quick run through and tutorial would be helpful.
Device Info:
Model number: SCH-i545
Android Version: 4.3
Baseband Versions: i545VRUEMK2
I'm also having trouble navigating to the guides on this site for rooting and flashing my particular device. So i apologize if there is a guide for all of this somewhere but I couldn't find it.

You have to make sure that you get the correct ROM for the device you have as they are many. Always if a new to rooting, write down all information from Setting>about. This is where all the most important information is. This way folks on here can help you out a lot better. It seems that you are stuck in a "Boot loop" it's not a big deal. There are a bunch of Youtube videos about boot loop check it out. I'm not that familiar with the ROM you have. Good Luck!

If you are new to all this, then you need to do alot more reading first of all if you are on MK2 base, you can not load any custom recovery except for safestrap. And with safestrap you CANNOT load any CM or ASOP based ROMS. This situation has been discuss a couple hundred times thru out this forum. You will get to learn about ODin process now as that is your only recourse.

[Q] Just bought an xt910

running 2.3.6 completely stock. Got it new in the box. I used to have the xt912 when it first came out. Switched around a few different phones since then and I wanted my razr back. My plan was to update it to the latest android and I spent the whole day trying to update it to ics with hardly any progress. Amidst the countless tutorials and sites and download links that just don't exist. Even this forum has alot of info that points that it's suposed to be easy but I didn't find any one tutorial that had everything I needed and step by step instructions. I'll try to run down what I've done so far.
rooted pretty easily at first. This is basically the only thing I got right.
Installed the cwm installer app on the play store. It has an option for the razr but it says it doesn't support it. After searching for hours on how to install it manually I came across rsd and bootstrap. Rsd just doesn't want to see my device for some reason. No idea why. I'm running a windows 8 PC. Tried various cables I have still nothing. Tried reinstalling adk and setting that up. Still nothing.
Bootstrap seemed to work ok until I actually tried to flash a rom using the 5.05 cwm recovery that it would boot the phone to. No idea how that even got there btw. But it wouldn't even try flashing the ics rom. Just fail. I decided to go back into the stock recovery and format everything. Phone booted fine into its stock OS.
found another tutorial for use with safestrap. Installed it. Then rebooted into recovery with it.
Phone is now stuck in a bootloop.... I tried reformatting the phone again and now when it boots up it goes into(I think) safestrap. BUT everything on the screen is completely distorted and twisted. I can select stuff but I have no idea what it does.
right now the phone is sitting in its stock AP fastboot mode. I have no idea what to do to fix this. And I'm pretty annoyed that something that was supposed to be an easy upgrade now leaves me with no phone at all.

[Q] How To Install Custom Software On VZW GS4

I've had my brand new SCH-I545 since thanks giving now. I've been trying to root and get a custom ROM on the phone ever since then and have gotten closer and closer but haven't been able to quite get everything to co-operate.
I may catch scorn for posting such a generic question on a flagship phone but I've been up all night for 2 weeks now trying to get this to work following numerous tutorials but with android everything seems to get outdated when there are so many software variables at hand that are constantly changing like firmwares and build numbers. I've included all the info since it all seems to be vital and have tried to seperate tasks by paragraph so you can skip over what you feel may be arbritrary. So if I could get an up to date breakdown on how I could succeed in my endevour I'd appreciate it greatly.
Out the box I have a 4.4.2 and NK1 build number. I was finally able to get root access through towel root after flashing back to NC5. However even after flashing NC5 through odin, about phone still says my baseband and build number end I545VRUFNK1 but towelroot no longer gives me the "phone not supported" message and I'm able to succesfully atain root access, confirmed by root checker. Is that normal?
So I have root now but want a custom ROM. VZW locks the bootloaders on new phones so I believe that means I can't use a custom recovery like CWM. I've tried and tried but it doesn't work, neither does the CWM Rom manager app. I've managed to get a custom recovery through installing BusyBox and Safestrap. (I had to go through several apk's to get Safestrap to work. Usually I would be able to enter TWRP recovery through it but the recovery won't respond to any of my touches. The power button still works to turn the screen on and off so it is not frozen but it won't respond when I swipe to unlock it. Even now that I have it working, if the screen locks I'm unable to unlock it even if TWRP is performing a task in the backround and clearly not frozen.
One time I was able to more or less successfully flash LiquidSmooth (LS-KK-v3.2-2014-10-04-jflte.zip). This was the closest I ever got to my goal as the ROM succesfully booted up and I was able to browse the home screen and change all the settings and it was a moment of joy until I went to settings and switched wifi on it just wouldn't. It either just wouldn't switch or would switch right back and grey itself out I don't remember exactly. My phone had no service either for calls, text or 4G. So everything worked internally it just couldnt comunicate with any signals coming from outside the phone. Why would this be? If I manage to boot LiquidSmooth again is there something I could download to make the wifi/service work? (I could download through USB or Odin.)
After this I tried to flash CM but the phone wouldnt even start after installation and would just bootloop so I had to flash back to stock to make it work again. Then I tried LiquidSmooth several more times but now I get stuck at the bootscreen for LiquidSmooth where it has the logo and the backround flashing. I've let the animation loop for several minutes multiple times before doing a battery pull.
Basically for 2 weeks I've been flashing NC5->rooting->flashing NK1 back->installing safestrap->installing a rom->soft bricking->flashing back to stock ROM and starting again
Is it possible if I keep doing this proccess that it will just work one time? It may sound silly but I kind of believe just because I've had varrying degrees of success following the exact same procedure.
And when I install a ROM in TWRP I go Wipe->(swipe factory reset)->Install->(select LS.zip and wait for it to say its succesfully installed)->Swipe one more time to wipe cache->Reboot after this the phone either fails to start up or loops the LiquidSmooth animation. As I said, one time it started succesfully.
Let me know what any of this information leads you to believe and if you may have a sollution in mind. Huge thanks to anyone that read this and will try to help me. I've had this phone 2 weeks now and would like to start actually using it.

The issue is that safestrap is incompatible with the roms you are trying to use. It can be only used with Touchwiz based roms(i.e. using the stock kernel). Try flashing hyperdrive rom. Also, Im not familiar if NK1 can use towelroot and safestrap well. My recommendation would be to
1. clean wipe to nc5
2. towel root
3. install safestrap
4. flash ONLY roms that say they were safestrap compatible.
5. Flash any patches, modems, etc.
Weeks? How about spending a few hours reading up on what you can and can't do with your phone.

Ok, thanks, I was going to try to flash hyperdrive but the ROM I found was 1.2GB and I didn't have that much space on my SD. I'll borrow an empty one and try it again. Is it not odd that LS did a full boot if it's not compatible with safestrap? And are there any other Touchwiz roms? I don't like Touchwiz and am trying to get as far from it as I can but if I could just delete the bloatware (which I can still only disable after towel root), get SD access and get rid of the battery restrictions.

The reason that LS did a full boot is because certain aosp roms can function with a touchwiz kernel. However, the result is always buggy. There is s4 verizon general thread talking about this.
There are many other tw roms. Just go to andriod devlopment! On the top of my head, I can think of eclipse, hyperdrive, echoe, and empty galaxy.
