HDMI vs. Internal Display in Android 5.0+ - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I was wondering if there is a workaround or an app to trick Android that you are on an internal display rather than connected to HDMI Port, similar with the "fake WI-FI" apps.
As a reason, I own a 5.1.1 Android Player, connected to a TV via HDMI, and when I try to use a paid movie streaming app, it is requesting to disconnect the external display. Similarly when I connect my Note 3 to a TV with MHL cable, same app is requesting to disconnect the external display. So it is working ONLY on internal displays, whether phone, tablet or SMART TV, which is a rude limitation for the payer, probably for copyright worries of the owner.
I would be very grateful if someone could point me a solution. The Android player manufacturer is stating that since Android 5.0 there is a signal regarding HDMI connection in Android system which triggers the app to block its usage, and I can confirm that on Android 4.4.4 there were no problems running the app on an external display (tested on another player running on 4.4.4).
Many thanks, in anticipate!
Enjoy!

[Q] Turn off display when using external resources

Hi
I've been looking for some solution for home entertainment and I think an Android tablet with HDMI port is quite a solution. There are a lot of solutions with mini Android PC, but I would like to minimize the number of devices. I've found TF300T is capable of using external resources for control (e.g., bluetooth keyboard, mouse) and display (e.g., 42 inch TV).
I'm thinking is it possible for the tablet to turn off the built-in display when the user have the external resources available? If this is can be done with some 3 party ROM, I think this would be a pretty nice solution before Miracast become popular with normal PCs.
Thanks!

[Q] Want to stream video from phone to Vizio Smart TV

Hey guys, does anybody know of an app or a method that will allow me to stream video (not YouTube or Netflix) to my Vizio Smart TV? It's a really new TV with all kinds of features...I know I could simply hook up my MacBook to an HDMI port or even stream video via Apple TV, but I don't usually have those things in my living room. I'm just basically hoping to be able to stream a movie playing from an app like Showbox(or something similar to) to my TV, without any wiring. Samsung's screen mirroring feature would be ideal...if it wasn't limited to ONLY working with other Samsung products Anyways...please, if you can let me know of anything you've heard of, or have used that might make this possible, it would be greatly appreciated!!:fingers-crossed:
Unless Vizio has some type of app for their TV that I never heard of, there needs to be hardware plugged into the TV that receives the stream. Cheapest and easiest way to do this with android is a Chromecast, $35 bucks, I believe it can or soon will be able to fully mirror your screen no special root app required.
you can use the mdl to hdmi adapter from Sammy and keep a spare (but hidden) hdmi cable plugged into the tv. As far as wireless Chromcast
Did you find a solution?
Did you find an App solution for this? I recently purchased a Vizio and looking for the same?
Can some one help me play videos from phone to my vizo 70 inch smart tv I've tried everything the closest thing I've come up with is I media share but it doesn't allow me to watch it always states video, audio not supported
You need something on the TV Side - I used Fire TV stick

Which android mini PC into bus

Hi,
currently my company is developing a multimedia solution for buses.
We want to stream ads, weather info and news to the TV places in the bus.
The idea is to write an Android application that will have layout showing 3 parts - one for each of the above mentioned kind of information.
This application should run on an Android device connected to the TV via HDMI.
The video (ads) will be streamed from local storage (NAS), the news and weather from some internet sources.
Ideally, the Android device should be connected to the NAS via WiFi, so no extra cables must be installed in the bus.
The other criteria is that the device should be cheap (under $100) and ideally also small.
So far, I thought about choosing one of the following devices:
MK802IV - rikomagic
MK908II - Tronsmart
MeLE M8 - MeLE
Which device would you recommend with respect to the requirements we have?

[Q] Modding an Android App?!

Hey guys,
I've got a big problem.
I want to modificate an app called "Sky Go". Well, the main reason is the following: If you look at the available content of Sky Anytime - which you can access with your normal Sky Receiver - and Sky Go - which you only can access with mobile devices - you can easily see, that Sky Go has much more films than Sky Anytime.
Well, Problem 1: I own an Asus TF300T Tablet. It very good at decoding video etc. caused to the Nvidia Tegra CPU. Long Story Short: I want to use this tablet but I can't cause the App is not available for this device. No Problem, installed the App on my Galaxy S4 Mini and copied the app to the tablet.
Problem 2: The App currently only works with WLAN, but I don't like this solution. I own the Media Dock for this Tablet that offers LAN Connections to the tablet. With other apps the LAN Connection works, but Sky says whenever I start it "Please check Internet connection"
Problem 3: HDMI. I don't want to watch the videos from Sky Go on my tablet, no. There's a big Flat TV in the living room I want to use. Whenever a movie is running and I plug in HDMI it stops showing the video and says "Chromecast is not available at the moment"
Long Story short: I want to modify the App.
I've already disassembled the app with apktool and managed to edit the "sources" with APKStudio.
I thought I found the lines where there's checked whether HDMI is plugged in or not and where's checked the Ethernet connection. I could say I was 10000000% sure. Well, recompiled the app, installed it and it doesn't work.
Could APKStudio be the cause? Doesn't it recompile the app with my modifications?

Translating ROM/Box from being a phone to a TV

Hey, I'm currently working with an Android TV box T8-AML-V3 which has some drawbacks. The major drawbacks being the inability to cast to it (like you would with a chromecast) and the inability to use the Android TV Remote app which I believe is due to the rom identifying the device as a phone rather than an Android TV.
Any advice as to changing the rom status to Android TV?
