Lollipop 5.1.1 clock and batterz low notifications - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys, i recently flashed liquidsmooth 4.1 (5.1.1 lollipop) and i have some questions about how that lollipop version handles notifications. what really annoys me is that from the 15% down i got the battery low warning on every single percent. so i dismiss battery low warning at 15% and then on 14% the battery notification appears, and then i dismiss it, and then on 13% again, i mean its really annoying, so if anyone knows how to disable this i'd really appreciate it.
second thing that annoys me about lollipop notifications is alarm notification, i dont want that alarm icon in notifications 2 hours before the alarm. ive tried disabling clock app notifications but then i get no alarm (it rings but theres no GUI so i have to go into clock app and turn off the alarm).
So thats about it, i'll write if i find anything else that annoys me and i dont find the way to disable it

Just don't dismiss the low battery warning and it won't annoys you on every single percent drop
And if these simple stuffs are annoying you , you should go back to pre-Lollipop. Because like seriously , a low battery notification that only appears for less than 5 seconds is causing annoyance to you? An early notification that reminds you earlier about an alarm so you don't forget or don't be late to your appointment is annoying? Wow.

i like the way kitkat handled those things, i dont know why you find it weird. if i dont dismiss the battery low notification it just stays there and the icon bugs me im a little funny that way.
i used liquidsmooth 3.2 (KK 4.4.4) for a long time and its cool and stable and fast but i like the new lollipop GUI and to be honest i really like some features like those nice lockscreen notifications. the kitkat version also has those lockscreen notifications but they're always just like heads stuck to the right edge of the screen so i have to swipe left to expand them..
anyways thanks for the reply

Im on stock and at 15% & 5% i get the notifications but i preset those. If i press the notification it takes me to the battery saver..
Maybe that is a rom issue and if it is you should be able to silence them one way or another. Thats the joy of root.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.

Well I'm sorry about that because this is all personal preference.
But I believe there is currently no way to disable those notifications unless you long press the notification and silence it (Note : It will also silence all notifications from Android System)

@drtifetfak
If you haven't try it out yet. Temasek's cm13 has the following options.
You can disable battery low notifications

Ungroup Notifications

MOD/Tweak I have been trying to search for and no one has done it yet.
Is there a way to UNGROUP the notifications. Here's Why
If you get a message, it will show in the notification bar the sender and the preview. However if you receive 2 messages, it will only show 2 MESSAGES, and you wont know from whom nor see the preview untill you open that notification.
Same as Missed calls, same as so many others apps.
So, my question is, IS THERE A WAY TO UNGROUP NOTIFICATIONS? Mod/Tweak?
Thank you,
B
would realy love to get an answer to this question...
on RR v7 galaxy note
Have you tried go sms ? It have lots of customization

I believe Jelly Bean is the answer to your question...

Okay, so that's emails but you get the picture. Assuming you've still got your HD2, I rather fancy your chances of getting Jelly Bean on there sooner rather than later
jellybean makes this better but its still not the best solution for everyone, i for example react to some missed calls when i see them and to others after one day, so it would be perfect for me if there was a notification for every evet, and those would not be dismissed by entering the associated app but only when i click on them... so a solution that can do something like that would be very appreciated.

Then you would have tons of notifications filling your notification tray.
Sent from my MB508 using xda premium
for me it would be about 10 - 15 each day, and preferably such a feature would be optional, i can understand that most people may not want it
Has this been implemented yet?
Coming from an iPhone to Android, I understand that grouping is a 'good' feature - but if everyone raves about how customizable Android is, I don't understand why this setting can't be changed.
Bringing this back from the dead! Is there finally an option for this? I'm running LP PAC-ROM CM12.1 base.
It's 2019; still wanting to ungroup notifications
4 years later, but I'm still hoping for this!
I don't like going into my inbox; I use my notification drawer as a catch-all "to-do list". I like keeping it clean, so I address each message individually using the quick action buttons. But when grouped, those buttons are no longer "quick" - you gotta expand the group, expand the notification, and then tap the button. It's also too easy to accidentally swipe the whole group away!
Since I prefer the drawer to be an accurate representation of what I have yet to address, I know that this could mean "having a ton of notifications building up in your drawer". And I'm okay with that! If I have a ton of unaddressed emails, then having a ton of unaddressed notifications is an accurate representation of what I have yet to address. My urge to clean out that drawer is much stronger than the urge to clean out my inbox, and I want to take advantage of that.
Anybody know of a hack?

[Feature] [Interface] Active Display

Description:
With Active Display your device can turn on when new notifications arrive and display that information to you on the screen. There is no need to turn your device on every time you hear that distinctive notification sound. Your notifications are right where you need them without all the clutter and free from other distractions. If your device has a proximity sensor, which most touch screen phones have, you are in luck. Active Display will not turn on if it detects something close to this sensor. So if you have your phone stashed away in your pocket or bag, don't worry, it won't turn the display on and waste your battery. And as an added bonus we've included an option to turn on pocket mode. When this is enabled active display will turn on your screen and display your current notifications instantly, provided you have any pending notifications.
Instantly turns the device screen on and displays notifications as they arrive
Up to 8 notifications displayed in a horizontal strip that can be viewed by touching the notification icon
Short notification description can be displayed around the outside of the center ring
Touch the center ring notification to view the full notification
Unlock the device, open the app for the current notification or dismiss the current notification
Set a re-display time to have active display remind you of your pending notifications
Adjustable brightness level for when active display turns the screen on
Pocket mode which allows active display to turn on once you remove the device from your pocket or bag

yes. it's a really needed feature.
Only check this option to work, if disabled the lock screen.
Because with disabled the lock screen - status bar disappears.
would be amazing if we can make this the default lock screen? so even with no notifications active display is still our lock screen?

ChaOS already has...
Should be able to pick it for PAC pretty easily. I use it, the only "annoying" part is the screen turns on whenever there is light changes - so it might turn on more than expected. But waving your hand over the phone and having it wake to show the date/time is pretty sweet
Would there be any way to use this with a notification blacklist? Like if I don't want all of my BBM notifications constantly lighting up my phone...
How battery consuming this feature is??
Any one who is using this feature??
Default lockscreen!!!! Pls pls pls...

Help needed, alphabetical apps and alarm question

I have a EE edge and it has no option for alphabetical apps that I can find, it is not in the usual place in the top right does anyone one know an app that can replace this or a way other than changing launcher that this can be achieved please?
Also the alarm clock is terrible as I can't seem to change how many time it allows me to snooze or for how long it will snooze for. My old note 4 would allow 10 snoozes and I could change the interval. Am I being blind or has this been removed? If its removed can someone recommend a decent alternative?
Overall love the phone just irritated by these two stupid omissions which have been standard on every android phone I have had for the last few years
Same here, awesome phone but the app draw thing is mental. Hopefully Samsung fix it. Years back the first versions of touch wiz were also lacking this option, then there was an app which did it for you. I can't remember what it was called, and I've searched and can't find anything. Anyone? I don't want to swap launcher before anyone suggests doing that.

Samsung took their Apple emulation a bit too far now. No way to alphabetize app drawer and if you go in applications you will find settings for stock apps just like with the iPhone. It's like they care more about people jumping ship from the iPhone than they do about loyal customers.
I also can't find a way to hide files in the gallery so if you have a lot of music installed it automatically puts the album art in which is very cluttered. All of these issues are not present on the note 4 running lollipop so would be very interested to hear Samsung's reasons for these annoyances.
Although individually they are all small added together the are really starting to annoy me and may make me consider my purchase which is a shame as the hardware feels amazing and the music is superb. I just hope it is a case of time to sort these things out.
I second the snooze problem and the alphabetical sort issue as well...
i had a software update...but that didn't help in sorting this issue....

[APP] Vibration Center - Take control of your watch's vibration

After switching from Pebble to Android Wear, I have noticed I kept missing notifications. I did not feel the vibration, but when checking the watch later, missed notifications were there.
It turns out that not only is the vibration motor on my SW3 significantly weaker than on my Pebble, most apps also only vibrate for like one millisecond, making them easy to miss.
While there are already apps that try to mitigate this issue, none of them really satisfied my requirements, so I have decided to make my own.
So what does this app do?
Simply put, after Android Wear finishes its puny barely-noticeable vibration, Vibration Center will kick in and do a good shake to your wrist, making sure you absolutely notice this notification. However:
It will do so intelligently (no useless vibrations for notifications that do not actually appear on the watch)
Vibration pattern is customizable and can be set differently for each app
If you are still afraid of missing notifications, you can enable alarm mode that vibrates restlessly until you dismiss it manually. It even comes with the snooze button.
It comes with plenty of spam filter options, making sure that your wrist is not shaken too much
It comes with on-watch mute feature that can either mute all vibrations for some time (for example when in a meeting or in a theater) or it can mute specific app until you deal with it later (for example if you are in group chat and they are having spammy conversation that would otherwise buzz your wrist every half a second)
There is full tasker integration
It is completely free and open source

matejdro, is there another way to donate or help with your project? I've used a pebble before and I'm glad you provided this app. I can now at least recognize my notifications on the watch. Before, I mostly missed them.
If there's nothing I can do to help, I at least wanted to thank you.

Hello,
Thank you for your app. I can have custom pattern vibrations for all my apps except Outlook.
Outlook just sticks to its default watch pattern.
Any idea?
Thanks
Default pattern will always be there (unless you put the watch into do not disturb). Vibration Center will vibrate in addition to default pattern.
Anyways to change the vibration settings on the Facebook Messenger on the watch. It's the watch out not the actual Facebook message on the phone

Matejdro, is there any way for your app to vibrate when the Bluetooth connection to the phone cuts, like out of range?
Nope, but there are a lot of other apps that do this job well.
Not working on my new doogee s90 pro. First time on android 9.
when launching the app it says the service is not running. When I go to settings > vibration center does have notification access.
I can't understand if I'm doing something wrong but can't make work on my TicWatch 3 pro. On MIUI phone I enable all possible permission and notification access

Many of you who have a Windows Mobile past like me, might have instantly recognized the thin colorful line(s) in the above image. And for the new Android generation, introducing Energy Bar - a pulsating Battery indicator!
Energy Bar puts a thin line on top of your Status Bar whose length corresponds to your device's current Battery level.
Got a full charge? The line will cover the whole width of your screen.
Battery depleting? So will the length of Energy Bar.
After several iterations (thank you for the feedback, early testers), the App is now feature packed:
Energy Bar can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to cover the entire status bar
Energy Bar puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
Energy Bar's origin can be configured as left/center/right
Energy Bar can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
Energy Bar can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
Energy Bar could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient
You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
Energy Bar as a cool pulsating animation whenever a power source is plugged into your device
There is something about visual over numbers that keeps you and your device's battery level in sync with just a glance. You may find it intuitive/effective/stylish way to read the battery level, let me know what you think

Hey this is cool, I was considering making a similar app around the camera cutout... might be something you consider adding to this project! "Energy ring"..
Doesn't really translate onto the screenshot well tho:
Looks good. I did notice that the charging animation restarts when opening/closing the Energy Bar app. Did not appear to restart animations in other apps though.
It adds a corner to the top left of the screen that is visible in screenshots but doesn't appear anywhere else.
Screenshot attached for others to see.
Hi, great app for my s10... Thanks
Hi, Good Afternoon, I would like to install your App, but why is it asking for so much permissions. It says it wants to read my messages & other personal items. If this is an App to show how much power I have left, why does it need all those permissions?
