hello all,
i have Coolpad F1 8297w with TWRP 2.8.1.0 and Miui V6 installed on it ( 5.7.31 KK & TWRP from needrom)
lately i had some issues with this rom, so i decided to flash another rom.
on the TWRP Recovery i did Format Data Partition (where you have to type 'yes') and because of that i think i messed up the partition table in the internal SD.
when i do now the normal wipe (Data, Cache and Dalvik) it says in the log:
E:Unable to mount '/system'
E:Unable to mount '/cache'
E:Unable to mount '/data'
...done
E:Unable to mount storage
same when i try to install ROM zip file from External-SD.
in Mount menu of TWRP it doesn't let me mount any of the partition except External SD-card.
i've tried 3 flashing tools with guides without any success (YGDP, Coolpad Download Assistant, SP flash tool).
i tried to flash stock rom "4.2.020.P0.140409.8297W.CPB".
in MTKdroidTools i have ADB access to the device when in Recovery, at adb shell i did "cat /proc/partitions" and "df" , here is the screen capture:

i don't know what to do more, nothing seems to work:crying:
Can somebody help?
select one by one partition and do format....it will fixed the issue
thank you for you replay.
can you elaborate more on your answer, I guess is should do it in the adb shell?

Follow the exact process how to use ODIN and flash firmware. You can check in youtube. I hope it sud solve your issue. The phone must be detected first by your laptop/desktop for starting the ODIN flash

As i know about your system, this is just you don't have the stock rom, you have to flash stock rom using odin, or go here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32273406
It has reached me a Mate 10 Lite with error when unlocking the Bootloader ... once made it sends you to the custom recovery TWRP but it shows in its description that they wipe the system and do not load it, I have tried to recover with backups uploaded by other users but it does not ... someone has gone through this ... and what suggestion they give ... Thanks for the answer, but it does not allow as the previous message says ... it does not allow to install any type of recovery either stock or custom ...
It does not allow to mount any partition, Boot, Recoery, etc ... from the TWRP Menu
Unlock bootloader install via command
thks
I do not think I'm spying.
1. The Bootlaoder even if it is released ... it sends you immediately to the TWRP ... once inside it says no OS installed, and it does not allow doing anything because it does not load any of the partitions.
2. Even if you release the Bootloader, it does not allow you to install another type of TWRP ... nor restore backup files ... it only allows you to flash the different OEMINFOs as if it were a rebrand.

Then you might try dc phoenix but its not free
That can install even if you have a locked bootloader firmware or even if you are bricked like your cellphone
you can download the latest firmware without problems googe it and try it (cost about 15dollar to unbrick)
If the twrp dont work cause the parameters are wrong what twrp are you using we have here 3 differents for the Huawei if im right try kingmezi twrp its working fro my l21-b432 i think it was
Thks
I managed to install another custon recovery, that allows to see the partitions, and that the team has a system ... but at the time of restart the bootloader error comes out ... and giving low CMD fastboot has the same unlocked ... perfect ... when I send the command fastboot flash (Boot, recovery, recovery2) it says Failed ... and I can not install the recovery stock.
P.S: Thanks for the advice of DC Phoenix ... I had seen it and I will try ...

I'm using Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (Joyeuse). I don't think I bricked my phone because I can run TWRP, but surely something went wrong when I tried to change one custom ROM (Havoc OS 3.12) to another (crDroid v7.2). Now when I try to flash crDroid zip, this is what happens:

Nothing get flashed, you can boot back in your previous rom.
Check if partition are not already mounted in TWRP and untick them.
You can also report your issue to the relevant crdroid topic in ROM/DEVforum.

HELP! is there any work around? I flash havoc rom but its says the same ( updater process ended with ERROR 1 )
Same error can anybody help me out
It is showing me error as,
Failed to mount '/system_root' (invalid argument)
Failed to mount '/vendor' (invalid argument)
Still no solution?
Flash the super image through recovery.
Same problem.. but i manage to install another custom rom. Twrp wont work for that even you repair the Data or change system files. My solution is i use OrangeFox recovery, and install havoc os a11 and it works but other roms like evo x , pixelui, corvus os doesnt work and having error the same as you.
I have the same issue like u.. use the orangefox recovery.. to install custom ROM. It fix my issue.

hey.. i fix it right now. using twrp and orangefox. updated version. please consider to redownload your custom rom zip file. cause thats the reason why its not mounting. I tested it and after i download a new custom rom file and delete the previous custom rom, and put it in main directory "sdcard/" and suddenly it worked.

i thought the error is in custom recovery, until i found out its the custom rom zip is the one got the prob.,
I have also Redmi note 9 Pro device,
Custom recovery twrp 5.4 installed
Just flashed Ancient OS 12.1 and this same thing happens.
Now cannot flash any other roms. Maybe android partitions bricked.
What should I do now!
Long story short, I tried to update the android tablet from 5.1 to the most recent version of android and I messed up and accidentally deleted my OS. I'm trying to install a new OS on TWRP, but all the ones I try to install always fail.

I've done the recovery and it went through. But when I restarted the system, it still boot loops. Trying to go back to TWRP gave me an android exclamation mark. Pressing the power button after brings up this screen here below.

The file structure needs to look like this:
/sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/[device serial]/[2014 backup folder]/recovery.emmc.win
If there is no serial number folder in BACKUPS, take a backup of some little part and it will be created. The folder inside the zip has to be next to your new backup. Then it should show up in the restore menu. Wipe data, restore boot and system.
Hello,
I need help for TWRP on my Samsung Galaxy A20e. My device is rooted for a while and TWRP is newly installed. But the problem is when I try to backup something, I got an error while creating the folder TWRP with the mension of operation not permited. I also have a problem when I touch the Install button, I see a list of folders with random generated names like in the photo. Can anybody help me to solve this problem? I can give more informations if needed.

your device is encrypted. you must disable encryption and factory reset device in order to become TWRP functional, as TWRP cannot handle samsung encryption. or use other backup method such as Migrate.
Ok I tried what you wrote but it works only while I don't boot my device after factory reset it. If it happens, the encryption enables automatically and I can't backup anymore. Do you have a solution for this ?
you must disable encryption in /vendor/etc/fstab.samsungexynos7884
(can maybe done with zip)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-unofficial-twrp-3-4-0-0-for-galaxy-a20e-a202f.4141767
How am I supposed to do that ? I tried everything with this file. There is a mount option for /data "filencryption=ice". I tried to delete this with a file editor in the stock system but when I reboot my phone it reappears. When I this this in TWRP the system can't boot.

there is download for Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip flashable zip which is supposed to patch fstab (last step in tutorial). you must mount system/vendor writeable (checkbox in TWRP)

I tried installing this zip file from the SD card but it didn't boot (locked on samsung logo) so I did a factory reset with TWRP and after configuring, I got the same results than before.
- in TWRP double check your vendor partition is separate partition (or directory inside system partition)
- in TWRP terminal make sure partition is mounted rw
Code:
mount /system w
mount /vendor w
mount
- install Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip
- in TWRP terminal double check fstab.samsungexynos7884 file fileencryption= flag is gone
Code:
cat /vendor/etc/fstab.*
- in TWRP - wipe - format data - type yes
Thanks for the instructions. It works perfectly ! I am just an idiot because I didn't wipe /data in TWRP but I just swiped to factory reset. Thank you a lot !
maybe I was misleading you with factory reset. might be that TWRP factory reset just behaves like simple wipe, where only files are deleted excluding /data/media
formatting whole partition is required for removing encryption.
edit: Please note if you're interested in undo the patch, you must restore vendor partition. you can of course add the fileencryption= flag back with text editor yourself. However that requires linux line endings (LF) so you can't use Windows text editor (CRLF) that's why you should use Notepad++ and enable view for invisible chars with (π) button. Do not simply copy file back into /vendor you will lose file permissions. Do not use sed you still would lose secontext. only copy content of file into old existing file like this.
Code:
cat /tmp/fstab.new > /vendor/etc/fstab.samsungexynos7884
Btw if you're running custom ROM (such as LineageOS) it's possible to break samsung encryption and use AOSP encryption as fallback by deleting keystore.mdfpp.so and keystore.msm8953.so from /vendor/lib/hw. This way you can use TWRP on encrypted device.
