Description
This Xposed module hides the carrier name on the top left corner on the lockscreen.
There's already a module that does the same but unfortunately it doesn't work for me and others, so I created my own module.
It uses the newer Xposed-API approach (described here), so maybe that's why it works and the other one doesn't, I don't really know.
To all developers out there: I'm sure there's a better (/easier) way to hide the label, but this is my way and for me it works. I hope I can help others who feel annoyed by the carrier label on the lockscreen.
Tested on OnePlus' OxygenOS (Android 5.1.1, API 22).
Tested on CyanogenMod 12.1.
Requirements
- Xposed Framework
- Android 5.0 (API 20) or above

Gonna give it a go
OnePlus Two, OxygenOS 2.1.2, Android 5.1.1.
Xposed v79 sdk22.
Will report back when I reboot.
Tested and working great
Maybe, if u have time, u could work in a way to edit/change the label to a custom value. All other modules that do this, do not work on OnePlus Two.
Thanks for testing and reporting back. I'm glad to hear it's working.
Unfortunately I won't have much time in the next few weeks, sorry.
If anyone's interested to try this themselves:
The class CarrierText.java normally extends TextView, but in older CM versions and apparently in OxygenOS it extends LinearLayout.
Full class here and here's a comparison.
Works on my oneplus x, rooted, stock. Well done!:highfive:
@Firefly1337
Finally a module that works on xperia lock screen. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! Works on xperia z stock rom 5.1.1 (so it should work on its newer siblings). Maybe in the future you'll get rid of status bar annoyance of carrier label. ? ? ?
And for further testing, I'm all yours. ?
Thanks man!
Works on my XT1095 running CM13 ?
Not working for Samsung Galaxy s6 marshmallow 6.0.1. As of v 1.1.1 if you do decide to update this for my os let me know of if there is anything I can do to help
@Hell Bomb
Are there any errors in your Xposed Log?
To fix it I would need your '/system/framework/framework-res.apk' and '/system/priv-app/SystemUI/SystemUI.apk' (this path could differ, search if it's not there).
Thank you! I tried the original on my xperia z5c with no luck a while sgo and didn't even notice the v2. Works great!
Xperia z3 compact on MM not working tried both. [emoji22]
Edit: ops it works now but i dont know how [emoji106]

Either it is indeed unrelated to my module or Samsung somehow screwed up their carrier name implementation. All I do is hiding it. So the action itself is only 1 line, that can hardly be the cause for lags.
By the way: Never quote full OP.

Hi, thanks for your module
Any chance of hiding the carrier label from expanded statusbar in Sony phones?
Here's an example (top left corner with the text "Vivo"):

I can send you my SystemUI if you're willng to take a look at it.

Depends on how Sony implemented it and yes, I'd need your SystemUI.apk and Framework-res.apk.
Unfortunately I don't have any time at all right now, sorry.

remove carrier name outside lockscreen
Hi, this works on my Vodafone smart prime 6, is thre a way to hide the carrier outside the lockscreen?
Doesn't work with Android 6 (Imperium Rom 4) on LG G4 H815. Framework is v86.
Any solutions?

Requires Xposed Framework!
Note: No further support will be given for this module, it'll work on most (if not all) 4.1 devices. 4.2+ versions of Android are not supported.
This mod replaces the Samsung lockscreen with the AOSP one.

I got hold of a rooted Note 2. Bug fixed, at some point before putting it on github I edited the source without testing since I don't have the phone. That broke stuff. All fixed now, use the same download link and it should work.

@MohammadAG is there some way to center the lock circle? Look at the picture and you'll know what I mean.

The AOSP lockscreen wasn't removed in Samsung's code, they simple added another one and dused that. I'm not sure I can add whole classes in Xposed.

Heh. The reason I made this mod is because I used 240dpi on my phone and lockscreen shortcuts looked so small, but the reason I never released was exactly that; the circle isn't centered in other DPIs. I actually spent a lot of time on it but I eventually gave up. If you find a way to center it (some other mod that has it fixed), I'll gladly add it.
Thanx for great module! I have a problem though - the camera and google button don't seem to work. If I slide unlock circle to the camera, nothing happens. I have to slide it again to UNLOCK and then it asks for pattern and runs camera. Is there a way to fix this?

Check my signature, look for "Enable camera on lockscreen"
As for Google Now, you'll need to use the "Show when phone locked" option in Xposed App Settings.

Yea I just checked it and noticed that CM11 themes that hide the handle have that issue as well. I'll have to look into that.
Works pretty sweet on my Galaxy S2 running SlimSaberKat... :good:
Could you make an option to remove the whole handle, not just hide it?
So there is more space for notifications?

Is there any Xposed module to shorten the pull down panel just to show the notifications. I mean it's just ridiculous expanding all the way down to the bottom covering the whole screen with black for 1 notification.
can you make an option to hide carrier label too?
How about lollipop?
I understand it's been a long time since this thread but something similar... There isn't a notification handle in lollipop yeah, but there's this "No notifications" text that appears when you've got,...well, no notifications. I was wondering if you could look into that, do something similar? I really want a clean UI and "No notifications" kinda makes my OCD twtich. XD

Good day, I made an XPosed module for Zenfone 5 (my handheld device now so far). Due to the problem ughh I think annoying bug in my Z5's recovery and need to do something new for myself and this phone. Also mostly of the Zenfone systemui was modified so some sort of module isnt working properly to this device so kinda need to do something.
It was my first time doing something kind of this so expect that the development in this module is too slow. But time to time, maybe God's will, this project will grow
Feature:
Costumize statusbar clock color
Hide battery icon (non sense feature but in my POV, I am using the battery text, more accurate and less space )
Contextual Header
Custom Wifi Label
Battery Text State Color
Added some zenfone goodies that havent implemented in recent updates
Customize AMPM
Double Tap Statusbar to Sleep Gesture
Circle Battery
Expanded Background Color
Signal Icon

PLEASE DONT MIRROR THE DOWNLOAD LINK. IM WORKING FOR IT FOR FREE.

Many thanks to you, i was searching modules that work with ZenUI but without a positive results.

Again. Many thanks to you man!!!
Damn. I love you man! Thanks a ton.
I found this bug, though. The background of the quick settings panel changes, and even after restoring it to default the background is different.
Other than that, I did not find any other bugs! This module is amazing, hoping for even more features with further updates

@ns17 any chance to update this for 5.1?
Would love an update for 5.1 as well - my ROM thinks I'm digital roaming even though I'm not so getting that to hide on the lock screen would be great
I've just pushed the update for compatibility with 5.1, and it should be available on the Xposed repo now.

Dude awesome!! Thanks so much for being so responsive!
EDIT: I don't think it's designed to, but it doesn't hide "digital roaming" or service-related statuses on the lockscreen, right? Since those aren't carriers. Mine is showing "digital roaming" on the lockscreen. I realize not a lot of others are in this situation and that it's not really your problem (more of a ROM issue), but there isn't a lot of dev for my phone and this is the only option I have to be on 5.1.1. Would there be a way to hide "digital roaming" / those kinds of labels on the lockscreen as well through your module (without too much work on your end)?

Good work, I've been trying it on my N5 and N6P (both on AOSP Custom Roms), works just fine.
What Settings have you been planning for a future release? Color Customization maybe and positioning would be great
Works fine on the Nexus 6 running CM13 13/03/2016. It's a little bit too close to the next icon (Bluetooth) bug works fine

Thank you, it's the feature i need.
Tested version 0.5a on my cm12.1, it works fine.
Here is my suggest:
1. Support multi-sim.
I'm using 2 sims, but use the 2nd sim for internet, seems version 0.5a always show the 1st sim' data usage.
2. Show GB or MB by user's option, or just use the string from the system's Settings.apk(when less than 1024MB, shows xxxMB; when more than 1024MB, shows xxxGB.
3. Let the DataUsage show after the QuickSettingsBar's header, example after the time.
I think, the DataUsage no need show always, few people need it shows always, so i think maybe the better position is the QuickSettingsBar's header, after the time.
4. The apk file size show me 1.5MB, a bit large...
cheers

My current future plans are:
Color and font
Position
K/M/G multiplier
Dual-sim and having it on the quick settings bar are good good ideas, i'll check them out. Personally, I wanted to have it on the status bar because I wanted it available at-a-glance, but I could probably have the option.
The large APK is due to the Kotlin stdlib. I use Kotlin for everything now and I haven't enabled proguard for the beta release.
Doesn't appear to work on Project Fi Nexus 6p. Jist shows 0
Works nice on s5 g900f Cm13, thanks
Working fine on my Zenfone 5 with Lollipop 5.0. One possible minor tweak though.
Would it be possible to only have it appear on the statusbar when the mobile data is in use?
Any screenshots??

Here's a quick screenshot for others who don't see the link, which that you need to copy the entire content of the first post, then edit the link then put it in your browser to view
I don't think the provider should matter but does anyone else have Project Fi? No usage is displaying for me
Nexus 6P -- MM 6.0.1
I'll try to investigate the Project Fi issue but it may take a while for me to figure it out since I'm in Canada and don't have access to a Fi phone. In the meantime, v0.6 which adds some requested features is up, check the OP.

Thank you, it runs perfectly on my Nexus 4 (Fake ROM + Cataclysm mod).
I would like to ask you if you could add an option to place it, on left side of notification bar. (Read 'Planned features:' in github)
Thanks in advance
Edit:
What MiB stands for? (Found what is MiB)

Wow my request was granted! And it's working absolutely fine for me. No bugs so far. You're awesome. Keep up the good work.
