Alright, so I know what went wrong. I messed up, I know I did, so please try not to mention it.
I accidentally deleted my lib folder in the /system directory using root explorer. What I was trying to do is replace it with the one found in a different thread (as I was missing some files that I needed to receive the BELL OTA update)
So now the phone will not boot past the above mentioned logo (thread title)
I have tried going into android recovery and wiping and restoring all data but that did not help, my phone is not unlocked and I have never installed a different ROM.
What should I do?
I may be wrong, but if you are not unlocked, you may have to do a full SBF flash to get back up and running. If you were unlocked you could just flash a system.img via fastboot.
Alright, I will look into that, right now I am at school so if you could give me a link to a guide for the Bell Motorola Atrix I would appreciate it, if not I will search through the forums for it later.
Thanks for the help!
what did you make on your case.
I have the same problem.
Please help me
Hello!
I need some help and I know this is the place to find it!
I have searched for several days all over the internet trying to read and gather information, and I am coming up short.
I know Bruno Martins has posted some information on his blog on how to "readback" (backup) your current rom for your phone, but there is no information on how to flash the entire ROM package back to your phone (at least with regard to the errors you may receive).
Basically, I am looking for some help on how to backup one of my phones entire rom package and put it on my other phone that I messed up via the Smart Phone Flash Tool (the exact same model: Star Touch Diamond 2 B2000 MT6573).
The new phone works perfect, I have never touched it, my old phone which is the same model I deleted and formatted the system so I need to put the stock rom on.
I was able to do a "backup" of my new phone, but when i try to flash the preloader and uboot, etc, the sp flash tool says error loading file, or region too large with overlap.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
By the way, my phone is not bricked, but I cannot access recovery! I was able to find and install another fully assembled rom to my phone and the phone does power on with lights, but it doesnt have the display driver I need so I cannot see anything.
The reason I flashed another rom was because the phone was essentially bricked and wouldnt do anything, and that was the only rom I could find on the internet that was a full package (preloader, uboot, system, etc) but isnt compatible with phone.
Anyhow, if I understand correctly I need to use hexadecimal calculator to find length of partitions of original phones rom, readback the files, somehow edit the preloader file? then flash them back to the old phone?
Please help!
I would love to make a tutorial of this method with pictures and possible errors for everyone if we could get this solved!
Please point me in the right direction!
And I wanted to thank BRUNO in advance for his hard work and help!!
have you tried the neutrino rom from notorious? its reallllly small around 50mb. you may be able to install that since it so small, then work your way back down? not too sure and i can say im no grandmaster but it might work!
***derp. neutrino... thats for atrix only. but hey same concept. maybe a small barebones rom will get you running enough to get things done properly.
Hello stokemonkey!
No, I have not tried the neutrino rom. My main goal is to take my working phone and copy the firmware to my other phone which is the same model. I attempted to flash a rom and then it didnt work out so well (phone still lights up, drivers are not compatible).
I all else fails I can attempt the neurtino rom (as long as you dont have to install from sd card zip file because I cannot!)
the neutrino is an Atrix 4G rom only, so you cant use it and it also needs to be installed via internal so its a no go either way. isnt your phone the china "htc" model? i dont have much user time on an htc so im not too sure what you can do?
again id try to find a barebones that you can flash the way you did with the rom that gave you errors. ill try to do some searching too and see what i can find. let me know if you get anything workin! and if there is someone else out there that can enlighten the both of us help would be appreciated!
and isnt yours like an evo 4g? maybe one of those roms will work?
Thanks for your response and suggestions. I will try to dish up a small tutorial with how far I can get in the backup/flashing process. I can check for an evo 4g rom and see what the specs are. The current rom I used i believe works, but doesnt have the video driver so the screen has no image. I believe each partition of ram has a set size so you can only flash a rom for the mt6573 chipset which will fit in the available space for each partition and also happens to contain the video, audio, bluetooth, etc drivers.
I have used SP Flash Tool and was able to backup all of the partitions of my working phone but the SP Flash Tool gives all sorts of errors when I try to load the files and flash them to my non-working phone.
The funny thing is that I downloaded files for a different phones rom and was able to flash those to the non-working phone, as mentioned in my previous post, which allows the phone to power on, but the phone doesnt work besides lighting up.
I know it is possible to make a backup of my good phone and flash that rom onto my non-working phone, I just dont know what I am doing wrong.
So far, this is what I have done . . .
1. Installed SDK tools for android
2. Obtained my scatter txt file by using command prompt
3. Used MTKRomStudio to open that file which tells me the addresses of all the partitions and their file sizes
4. Used SP Flash Tool V.2.11.29.00 to "readback" (backup) each individual rom file (preloader, uboot, bootimg, android, dsp, etc)
5. Confirmed the file sizes of each of the above files to what MTKRomStudio said the file size should be
6. Attempted to load these files into SP Flash Tool and get errors such as "partition too large, failed to load", or "partitions overlap".
7. I was able to open some of the partitions such as android, and usrdata but when attempting to flash I receive errors such as "dram error".
8. I was able to download an entire backup of all "readback" files for a different model phone, and each one of those files loaded fine and downloaded to my non-working phone.
9. Just to mention, my non-working phone was completely dead (no power up, no lights) before I flashed the random phone rom I found online, and now at least it powers up (lights up).
Anyone have any information? I have created a small visual representation of what I have been looking at and messing around with. Let me know!

I'm using MTK6573 phone but could i know how do you start the "readback" using SP Flash. I'm not able to start it while holding VOL-UP button and connect the USB data cable into your phone. Are there any other methods to start it. Thanks for your help.

Why don't you make a try with CyanogenMod?

I have a MT6575 phone and I have exactly your nr. 7 issue (BROM ERROR:S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTING_FAIL(5054)). Were you able to get this working somehow? I am confident that the selected partitions are for this phone as I read them out myself. But flashing back won't work. Does anyone have any leads?

If you have the correct files use the newest version:

MTK 6577 and SP Flash Tool
I too am also having problems with the flash tool. I am trying to help a friend bring his chinese note 2 clone back to life. He somehow got CWM onto the phone and the custom recovery seems to be functioning properly, but I cant find any sort of ROM file to flash in recovery.
Now I am going back and trying to restore the phone to factory using the flash tool. Installed the VCOM drivers, then went to load the scatter file we obtained from the factory (Bro Tech) it says the scatter file is incorrect format?
My question is: are there any roms we could try to flash on this phone from CWM or do we have to use the Flash Tool? I'm hoping since CWM seems to be working that I can simply flash an acceptable rom with that instead of trying to find a scatter file.
Maybe someone can suggest some ROMs to try flashing with CWM. The phone is: Goophone N2 7100 I believe. Thanks for reading, I really want to help him resurrect this interesting piece of copyright infringement (the phone looks amazingly like a Note 2 till you get close to it)

hi, i've made a mistake.
I've installed an odex version from a modified recovery(with dalvick cache). Can anyone help me?
I find myself with a big problem. I just got a new Huawei Ascend D1 (not quad) and I am having MAJOR issues. My programing friend decided that he was going to root it for me and add the play store to it. He didn't and now now it won't boot. Near as I can tell, he did something to the system file, based on how gapps seems to be installed. Anyway, I can boot to the splash screen and put it in download mode. I can get to the bootloader, but it fails to allow me to flash the factory ROM back....something about a signature failure. I really need help. I have some knowledge of ADB, but seem to be failing. Can anyone help me?
Any pro. expert help you

I was able to get some info on what Z did. After rooting the phone with Root Bin4ry v18, he copied the contents of the System folder in the gapps package, using es file explorer, into the system folder of the phone. He then restarted the phone and now it goes straight to bootloader and will not flash the ROM. Unfortunately, I could not tell you what firmware was on it other than the latest one. The one bright spot in all of this is that Z made a copy of original system folder. I think I just need to get that back into the system folder on the phone and I should be all set.

have you try data wipe in recovery ?
if no so check and try wiping :good:
That was the first thing I tried.
I'm in search of firmware for the S4 running 4.3 or 4.4. I haven't gotten this phone yet but verizon is selling it through Walmart on prepaid. I know the firmware isn't gonna be the same as if it was on contract verizon. I have the S3 right now and it's prepaid. Many argued that there wasn't a NF5 firmware but turns out there is and i used it many times to fix soft bricks on the S3 using Odin. So I'm pretty sure the prepaid side of the S4 will have different firmware then one on contract verizon would have. So that being said, does anyone have 4.3,4.4 or even 5.0 firmware they can share that will work with Odin? Not sure if the S4 got the 5.0 update. Just assuming it did. Any help is appreciated!
Anyone? Please?
If no one can then someone at least tell me how it direct me to where I can make a tar or md5 firmware out of adb pulls of the system an stuff?

OK never mind. I need 5.0.1 firmware. Not 4.3 or 4.4. Any help would be great
I can't think of any reason as to why post paid firmware would be different than prepaid. You can use the phone for either.
And you're posting jn the wrong forum, which is probably why nobody is helping you. Because you didn't bother to read the rules before posting.
Try the general section or Android development section. Click the search button and type firmware. I'm sure you'll find it faster than it took you to make all these posts. Good luck
still no help

I think what sob372 was saying is the hardware in the phone is the same as the contract so you can just follow the SCH-I545 stuff and it will work.
being that I just got this same phone S4 prepaid used I'll be playing with it to root it, install safestrap and probably downgrade it from Lollipop to Kitkat. So I'll let you know if you don't find more here by searching and I'm sure there are relevant posts if you dig around a bit.
BTW the S4 PP does have a SIM slot.

It just seems really sketchy to do with the contract firmware. Like I get the feeling that if I flash the firmware from contract, I'll lose any cell phone service under prepaid. I just don't want to end up with a big paper weight. The modules could be different. With the S3 I had which was prepaid also. I used safestrap and superlite rom was the best one I got to work with the prepaid version. The system always kept crashing but it would load if I put it under stock an not a rom slot. I had to get the i535pp module to fix the Wi-Fi problem but if I had no service cause of the sim issue then I didn't want it. Also I'm not sure but I think there is no safe strap for the s4 running lollipop. I believe the forum said it would cause bootloops if you tried. Just like you need to deodex for xposed cause of the changes in art

If you can confirm all is in working order with the contract firmware (can't remember what the build is) with the prepaid phone, I'll give it a go.
Update
A member already tried the OC1 postpaid firmware on the prepaid. They said all works but the camera and charging don't work. So that's out of the question
I been looking around on the net and best I've come up with is backing up the firmware. I tried using flash fire to get back ups of every partition. Then I used Odin package creator to try an make a firmware file to use with Odin but when I tried it out in Odin, it stopped at data so I took out my personal data then it stopped at something with number 3 at the end. Can't recall what it was. So if anyone can test more on this to have any luck. Maybe then we can get the firmware out to people in case sammobile decides not to or takes another year to release it
I've been trying a different approach to getting a copy of the OH7 firmware. I've been attempting to use Fiddler4 + the Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant tool that comes on my phone (Verizon Prepaid Galaxy S4 model SCHI-545KPP) to get a download link to the original rom file... I can't get the bloody link to download with Fiddler or an internet browser, as i get a 403 forbidden error. I'll keep trying, maybe I can find the downloaded file in my temp files while attempting to recover my phone? It will take some time but I'll keep trying.
*update* So I located where the Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant stores its files (compressed and extracted). The location is C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Verizon_AR .
I unfortionally didn't figure this out until after I royally soft bricked my phone. Right now I have a OF1 recovery installed on the phone, and the assistant keeps trying to install the OF1 firmware (and it fails). If anyone could check that folder for the OH7 firmware, or post a backup of the OH7 recovery, you'd be doing me a huge favor. I think we'll have the OH7 firmware after this one way or another.
*edit* This is 100% confirmed now. C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Verizon_AR\SCH-I545_I545VRUGOF1_FACTORY\decrypt produced a zip file that is 100% identical to the OF1 firmware zips out there. This decrypt subfolder didn't appear until after the file was completely downloaded, and the Software Repair Assistant had started to try and flash the rom. This data is deleted after the phone completes flashing (or fails to flash). If you select "delete" after this information is downloaded, the encypted rom file is deleted and you must start all over again.
If someone could check that folder who has used the Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant to recover their phone, using the tool on your phone again and you'll get the decrypt folder... if you zip/rar that folder, we'll finally have the backup files we can post somewhere.
the PP phone uses the same firmware as the normal one that guy that tried it
did something wrong
just flash the OF1 tar via odin and be done with it

I'm trying out your idea. If i can get the file them I'll upload it. If not, I'll still be able to at least send you a back up of the oh7 recovery. Mines all still stock. Maybe just cause its downloading at the moment. I'll just wait an see an I'll let you know

Yes, while it is downloading it will be a .enc4 file. Even after downloading it will stay like that, but when you got to actually flash the file, it will decrypt and the encrypted version will appear in that /decrypt folder.

so im confused. do i need the encrypted or decrypted file for it to work with odin? i tried changing the file to zip format and open it with winrar after it downloaded in the software but it came up as an unknown archive or damaged. so im not sure what im doing wrong but ill keep trying
UPDATE: i have tried getting the file through verizons handy tool and i did get the decrypted folder along with the unzip folder during it was finishing up repairing my s4. i just copied the file from the decrypted folder and extracted it during the repair. so now im using odin 3.10.7 and testing it out now to see if it will flash successfully. if all goes well, i will make new thread with the firmware link inside it so users dont need to scroll through pages to find the link. first anyone know a good or popular upload storage i can use to upload the firmware to for others to use? i tried uploading onto here but i keep getting a connection timeout

Thank you so much. I was close to taking this phone back and not getting another simply because I really need a phone to replace my S3 for tethering soon. But if you got the firmware, I can flash it back to working order, and hopefully get some deodexed roms (that way I can install Xposed framework). Thanks again!

Hi, if it is still relevant, I can send you fastboot-flashable files if you'd like. I've bought a second Hero X just in order to create a backup and unbrick my mobile I'd bought before. The flashable files (.img) have been created using Flashfire and are only usable if your bootloader is unlocked.

Hi, I'll be glad to help you. Since I have a really slow Internet connection and the IMG files are aroung 2GB, I'd like to make sure uploading them is not going to be a waste of time. Is your bootloader unlocked? Maybe using Google, you can find an answer. I'm going to be able to help you only if your bootloader IS unlocked. Are you sure about it?
