Working app lock with nexus imprint - Nexus 6P General

OK..I have seen many posts in several forums by people requesting this feature..I just noticed this and thought of sharing..I have installed xposed module "maxlock" and locked few apps. The feature is working as intended.
If its old news, please excuse me, I just wanted to share with those who are looking for this info.
Thanks

Thanks needed this.

Hi. Installed the maxlock but can't find the option to lock it with the imprint ?

It's automatic. Once you setup the app settings, say with pattern lock, select apps to lock and then go try and open a locked app you should see a finger print icon at the bottom of the lock input screen.

Got it. Thank you

Good find! Was waiting for something like this to surface. Thanks!

thanks. it works really well

Really glad you shared this with us! Thank you

Welcome guys...
Another improvement.. As you might have noticed.. This method can only lock the app but can't hide content in notification.. I used to use an app called finger security on note 4 for this purpose.. I just restored that app from my titanium back up and voila it's working!
So now I am using finger security to both lock apps and hide content of the app.
The funny thing is even the developer of the app is not aware it's working.. I wrote mail to him and probably he is looking into it now..

I downloaded the application using another phone, backed up the apk and send it to my Nexus 6P, the application itself can use the fingerprint sensor, but when protecting other applications, it just sit there with that splash screen and can't use the sensor, can you explain how you did it, your settings, your ROM???
Thanks in advance

I am assuming you are using finger imprint as default phone lock.
Try using Nova launcher in "root" mode and then try this app again

Even developer of this app was surprised when I told him it's working on Nexus. Hope soon he will standardize it and release.. He said he is looking into it now..

Yes fingerprint as default phone lock, and already using Nova with root to expand the notification with swipe down gesture.

Thanks, it works perfectly

You're original post said you backed up the apk and sent it to your phone. Try removing it and downloading fresh from the xposed module search.

Question

I have tried a few driving apps but I think what I really need, given the space on the Note II, is to just make my own driving interface out of widgets. If such a thing is possible. Unfortunately I am not finding what I need and I was wondering if anyone here knows of any matches
I am looking for a maps, or even better, a navigation widget. IE something I can place on the screen as a widget 4x4 or something like that that is showing the navigation app. using widgets which I can resize and place myself. I am essentially looking to make my own dash screen. But the key component is a widget version of maps and/or navigation.
If you change the dp in system with xposed, you can have floating windows. Then you can have navigation floating over all of your screens, and close it when finished. I know that this isn't what you are asking, just a suggestion.

It is not the perfect solution, but it works. Sometimes you havecto back out ofcit instead of closing it. Other than that, it is awesome.

Can you be a little more specific? Can not seem to reproduce that in xposed.
Sure thing. First install xposed, then install app settings. Enable app settings, then reboot. Gointo app settings, and click android. When the screen pops up, click on dp. Change the dp to 600x1024. Reboot, and you should have floating windows.
These are the setings I use. The only problem that I have had from changing this is my lockscreen rotates, and only shows 3 shortcuts on the lockscreen.

Strange. I already have Xposed installed as I run Jelly "Beans" and use the custom DPI on a few apps. But when I make those changes to Android System I don't see any change to the apps I open such as maps. No biggy, just curious why it doesn't work.

Are you saving it and then force closing the app? When you open it after that it should be the edited dpi.

After you save you have to go into the app list in settings. Go to each app you changed and then hit force stop. When you reopen the app...you should be good to go.

I'm on it but not too much to customize. Really too simple rom
Sent from my SCH-I605 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Installed this ROM recently after upgrading my Nexus 7 (grouper) to 4.4.
On the Note 2 I:
1) Backed up stock in ClockworkMod Touch.
2) Flashed the ROM
3) Flashed Paranoid Android's 4.4 compatible Google Apps
4) Flashed SuperSU
5) Factory Reset in CWM
booted that Sumamabich up...
Then:
1) Let Play Store download all my apps
2) enabled Developer Options and changed the runtime to ART.
After reboot:
1) Tried Camera..system DID NOT reboot.
2) As many have noted, "Recent Apps" does not function when the Home button is long pressed. You have two options that do not require modifying build.prop:
a) Download an app from the playstore (like "recentapps) to shortcut to this menu. Or
b). Install Nova Launcher (other launchers may also allow this functionality) to enable gestures. I set "double tap" to open the recent apps menu.
So far, everything else works great. I've noted significantly better battery life over stock 4.1.2 and a subjective performance boost. ART has caused no glitches thus far.
I would have put this in the ROM post in the OD forum, but I can't post there yet.

[APP] MW-Pen App Enabler - add more Pen Window Apps WITHOUT ROOT

For those who are still hesitant to root their tablet but wish they could add more Pen Window or Multiwindow apps without root, then let me share with you an app I created for the Galaxy Note 3. It is working well on an unrooted Note 3 but I have not tested it on the Note 10.1 2014. Hope someone could test it and give some feedback (will much appreciate).
App's name is MW-PEN APP ENABLER and can be downloaded from the following Note 3 thread: THREAD LINK
Also available on the Play Store:
As this is intended for NON-ROOTED devices, there are some limitations which is discussed on the Note 3 thread link mentioned above.
Im at work now,ill test out and let you know how it goes in a few hours when i get home.

I believe so, but trust me its well worth it since you won't have to go through rooting your tablet just so you can get this option. Ive been using it for a couple of days and have not noticed any unusual lag from these apps while on multi window, it's all working great.

As a reminder, the installed application has to be uninstalled as part of the process and settings, databases, et cetera will probably be lost.

[Xposed] MinMinLock v1.0.4 (AppLock alternative)

Conventional applock softwares use polling to detect current running process, which drains your battery and slowers your device. This is why I have created MinMinLock. With the help of Xposed framework, MinMinLock uses an event-driven method to detect app launch and lock it, which results in better performance.
For now this is just a prototype. I will make further improvement and new features in the future.
Bug reports and feature requests are welcome.
I made a short video for demo v1.0.3.

trying right now
Looks like it won't hide the soft key. But I do see a action that app try to hide the key for like 0.1 sec(sometime). But the soft key pop right back. Screen shot here.
But keep this in mind, tab s 10.5 don't come with the on screen soft key, I root the device and changed some system files. Only a few apps or games can hide the key by itself.
Nice app thanks again.

This is a great app, I use it on my Tab S and my S5. Was looking for this for a long time
Any chance to make the app also store password so we can store 10 password 1 for each finger, I really hate when a page don't remember my user password and I had to write it every time.

This is the great app. Must support. Thanks.
Would be cool if we could add username and password for each app within this app, this way once we select an app and swipe our finger on the scanner, it'd auto log in the app

Hi there, what does the theme option exactly do? What is themeable and to what extend?

The theme options allows you to use other animations for the fingerprint animation(the dots on the bottom kf the screen)

There you can find some themes you can use with FingerSecurity

Hi guys,
I created an app to secure apps of your choise with your fingerprint.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...fingersecurity-fingerprint-lock-apps-t2818896
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rickclephas.fingersecurity
If you want to try it and let me know if it is also working on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S.
If it is working i can start creating a tablet interface
Thanks in advanced

Nice app. but if ok to add a cancel button in the finger page is better. any sometimes it comes a error and the system will hang.
