Hey there,
thank you very much for the great work!
Unfortunately it does not work for me - but this must be an issue with having a German Amazon Prime Account ?
Do you think you can enable settings to also include other countries for it?
Also different issue:
I now tried to use the amazon video application and browsed the shop via RF mouse and keyboard... but whenever I select a movie to play I always get the error: Amazon Video has stopped. So it crashes on me
Nice work, works fine here. Unfortunately no HD, or UHD. Fortunately I have 4k amazon on my TV but would love to have on the shield. Amazon needs to stop making money selling android and then hosing all other android devices. They are only hurting their customers. I have prime, let me watch it where I want. I tried a 4k firetv, it was garbage for everything but amazon video. This is why content vendors should not play in the hardware market... they get confused
anyway, nice work. App works great.

@nobo2k I'll see if I can add German support to it, I'll check how the api I used handles Amazon.de. I'll have to add settings in the launcher app too. I'll try to add all the locations Amazon supports, but it might take a few days. I'll ping you with the update

There are settings pages the Amazon VOD app manifest exposes that allow you to change streaming settings for video and audio (but I think it maxes at 1080p high quality). When I'm adding international support I'll try to expose direct access to those settings as well .
It would be great If you add german amazon prime video. I would be eternally thankful. Will check this thread regular ! Thanks man

@earl.grey & @nobo2k the new APK should have support for Amazon Prime Germany, in theory. The intents and data seem to be working correctly, but I don't have a German Prime account to test video playback with. Let me know if this works for you, if not, we'll figure something out.
@gottahavit I've exposed the video settings page of the Amazon VoD app, it's possible to change the settings to "Best," but I think that's still just 1080p high quality. I think it looks better than the default settings. The link is below all the video feeds in the "Settings" section.
Keep up the amazing work
Awesome job, Will! You're definitely on the right track with this app, I read your full write up and I was surprised how far you've come in such a short amount of time!
That said, there's a few limitations to the current app and it would be nice to get an issue tracker going for this project (assuming you want to keep developing it!)
For example, there seems to be a considerable amount of Prime Video content missing, as the search seems to be limited to only the content displayed on the launch screen. It would be nice to expand upon this
Also I was curious to know why you recommend using the 2.0.45 version of Amazon VOD app instead of the latest 3.0.63 and version 5.4.3 of Amazon Shopping instead of 6.1.4.
If I had to guess I'm assuming only the older versions allow you to build an app like this but I'm wondering if there's any tradeoffs (aka newer versions support better video quality, more titles, etc)
Thanks again for the hard work!
You have done an amazing job on this app! By any chance, can you get close captions to work?
I figured it out. You just have to enable it for one video in the original app, and it enables it for all other videos.
Also, would it be possible to add purchased videos to view in this app?
Thanks again!
Thanks for the cool idea and the effort. Unfortunately, it does not work yet for me (Amazon Germany, NVIDIA Shield TV).
The 1.1 version gets rid of the "wrong account" error message. But Instant Video crashes when trying to play a video. This also happened with some of my own tries of various Amazon Video versions (without your launcher). This may have to do with the Shield TV.
In the settings, I can only choose the quality for mobile or to use WiFi only. Also, the quality of the "SD download". It's essentially the same as on my tablet. I don't know, if this will be 1080p.
After choosing a better quality, it does not crash anymore on playback, but just does nothing.
Also, it would be nice to see my own watchlist in your launcher.
Another idea: Maybe using the official Android TV version (for Sony TVs) would be a better foundation?
Thanks!
I'm taking a few days' vacation starting today. Please keep adding issues as you find them and I'll do my best to address what I can when I get back.
I used those versions of the player and store because that's what I had on hand, if someone wants to experiment with newer versions to see if they work better, please do and let me know. It should just be the VOD app, the store shouldn't matter.
I'll see if the Sony TV app has the same intents available, but it's less likely.
I can't add personalized content as is, because I'm not actually accessing your account. I could open the search function to everything however, not just free content.
I'll keep experimenting when I get back . Would love suggestions.

Ha ha ha, was about to ask the very same thing!
Anyways, to will.blaschko: many many thanks for the work you've done already. Always annoyed me not being able to play AIV on Android TV devices. Those few days over the summer where the app from Sony TVs worked spoiled me.

I'm getting a parsing error when I try to install the APK. Any advice?
works fantastically for me. beer incoming.
Amazon Germany, NVIDIA Shield TV.
Sometimes it plays, most of the time it does silently not (same video). When it does not, I see this exception in logcat:

I do not get the "Instant Video has crashed" message box anymore, not even after deleting data of all 3 apps.
One more thing:
When I enter Instant Video Settings the first time, I do not see the audio language setting, only 2 settings for video quality.
When I enter Instant Video Settings the second tine, I see audio language setting and it is set to german. When I open it and set it to english, I cannot set it back to german. I have to delete the data of the launcher.

Just tried to install the 3 given apks and everything is working as supposed.
I'm from Germany too so i guess the problem must be another in your case.
The only issue i have got so far is, that after i watched a movie i cannot load another one. If thats the case for you too, try to delete the data from the Shop and Instant Video Apps and sign in again
Yes, correct, it works one time, sometimes with correct language, sometimes not.
Second time, I get the exception above (sometimes with crash message box, sometimes not).
So, it is something with the audio language, I guess.
When I use search to find a show, it seems to find the english version, although I have set locale to Germany in the launcher.

If you wanted to try a few other VOD versions from APK mirror, maybe it's an issue with the old APK not working with the current server settings for certain videos.
If not, I'll see which is the most recent that works when I get back. The marshmallow APK didn't work, I found. It crashed every time I launched. The one posted is the only other one I tried.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I download songs to my phone?
A. No. This is not something Grooveshark allows you to do, and it won't be something Groovefish will allow you to do. It would constitute piracy after all.
Q. How can I help?
A. At the moment, I want a good solid base on which to build up the rest of the features. If you encounter a problem whilst using Groovefish, please post the details - including how to reproduce it if possible - in this topic. If the problem is non-fatal (i.e. the application doesn't crash) then please check the Debug Log (Options > View Debug Log) and post any relevant information from there.
You can also help by using the Grooveshark service. I'm not sure how they will react to this app, but I'd like to think they can coexist symbiotically since I'm promoting their service. You can support the host of the download by visiting the 1800PocketPC.com website who are kindly hosting and promoting the app for me.
Finally, of course you can DONATE to help encourage further development, more features, etc.

The first release has been uploaded to the second post! I've tested this on my Xperia and it seems to be relatively stable. That said, I've not done much testing!
The user interface is admitted not very good. I've not spent much time on it, I was more focused on getting a moderately stable first release out there to see how it runs on different devices and at different resolutions.
Next up, I'm going to start designing the 'proper' interface and start adding some basic features that are missing. I have big plans for this!
Hope you like! All feedback welcome.
Seems stable enough for me at the moment. I'm testing on a Ipaq hx2795 qvga. I did have it crash when it tried to get the album art. Keep up the good work!

Actually, as it turns out the 'rare' crash would -always- happen when there was no artwork for a song. This was due to me writing a clever bit of code with loaded the default artwork from the installation directory rather than downloading it. As it turns out, this clever bit of code didn't work since it used an unsupported .NET method. Opps!
I've taken this out for now, so it should work for all songs apart from the odd network-related crash! See post 2 for an updated CAB.
looking good, i like ur UI more than nilson, more finger friendly...
looking good so far.....thanks
looking great as of 2a, works w/o issue on the Touch Pro (CDMA).
I can't wait to see where this goes...
I'd like to hear some more feedback from others if possible! Any crashes, freezes, etc. I seem to be using a pretty unstable 6.5 ROM at the moment so I don't know whether to attribute the (few) UI freezes to the ROM or to my application. I suspect the former, but it'd be nice to get some form of confirmation.
'Version 1' is coming along nicely by the way - I've write ALL of the UI from scratch and I'm about to rewrite the comms with more speed and greater stability in mind. I'll try to get another release out this week - and it should prove to be a huge improvement...
Fingers crossed!
hehe, no one complaining = app is working fine, right?
Anyways here's my feedback - tested on Touch HD with PDAViet's V63 WM6.5 build 23053.
Issues/bugs
* Playback stops (eventually) when screen is turned off, and resumes only when screen is on again. Already checked that the I wasn't in suspend mode, and used Power Options to perform the screen off. Doesn't matter if using headphones or external speaker, same results.
Suggestions
* Ability to add songs to a playlist, and play only songs in the playlist (like the main Grooveshark website)
Other than that, everything works as expected (with one song anyways ) Will test more....
Look forward to V1!

Just to clarify, the issue occurs *after* I switched off S2U2 completely before using Groovefish, because I know the "Don't Suspend Power" setting is Off by default and even when switch On, still seems to stop HSDPA connections sometimes.
Ok, did a little more testing, found some more issues:
* After pressing play in a song, pressing the back button seems to wipe the search results list
* Buffering seems to fail for certain songs, eg. "Bee Gees" => Staying Alive - I get a .NET CF error, but can't see specific details because I don't have the mesages module installed.
Wow, I'm really excited. Now we have two guys that are both working on a great Grooveshark client. Wonderful.
Downloading now, if I find something useful to tell you about your current version, I will give you feedback asap.
PS
I think that the name of your app is brilliant!
EDIT: Ok so here are my thoughts....
One Major gripe that I have is that whenever the backlight turns off, so does the music. The same thing happens with Gooveshark Mobile.
other things:
1. when you search and then go back, it does not show the previous search results. I'm sure you were already planning to address this in the near future though.
2. There is nothing wrong with the user interface, it works great. Search is front and center.
But a reccomendation for the future that I have is to incorporate a carousel (kinda like TF3D) so that there are the following tabs: "Search" "My Music" "Recent" "Popular" "Favorites" and "People". Since those are the main menu items on listen.gooveshark.com, those screens would make most sense.
3. Obviously it would be amazing to be able to log into your account through the application. I'm sure this is already coming in the future too.
Lastly, if anyone is having problems with the application not being able to play a stream, it is Gooveshark.com's fault right now and not Sharkfish's

^^ My only gripe right now.
Also, when searching for music we should be presented with Artist/Title alone. No need to do more than Grooveshark does Then only present the rest of the information (Album/Art/Length/Genre) when the music is playing. I'm not going to decide what to listen to based on song length
With a UI as finger-friendly and attractive as nilezon's this could be fantastic!
P.S. Tested & working on Asus P565 VGA 480x640 over HSDPA
Yay! Comments!
A few responses;
I'm not sure if it's possible to keep the music playing after the screen has turned off - if there is some magical way of doing so, I'd love to know - it's certainly not something I'm doing intentionally! I can just stop the screen from turning itself off, so there is a potential fix there - just not an ideal one.
The song info page (with the genre, duration, artwork, etc) will be an optional step in-between the search results and the player. My aim is to have all major functions of the application to be one (or, at the most two) taps away (probably using something similar to skyler17's carousel idea).
The search result page will eventually show song and artist name - I went with the plain ol' ListView control for the search result just to have something done quickly, and with kinetic scrolling.
As for the stream crashing the application - the only situation I've had this is where the stream is actually missing. You can test this by doing the same search on Grooveshark and seeing if the error message pops up. I haven't yet accounted for missing streams so if it's missing - it'll crash!
Oh, and... I made an application icon this morning!
very excited for the next release, keep it up!!
It's good to hear there is still some interest... I'm still putting a lot of hours into this project, so it's nice to hear there is still some enthusiasm for it!
There should be another release some time this week, hopefully. I'll post some screenshots if I get a chance - the UI is looking very pretty now!

Oh yeah! Can't wait
The screen switching off/audio problem is by-design in WinMo. The only player to actually get around it is WMP and I have no idea how. Nitrogen keeps the screen on "dimmed" mode while the music is playing to get around it.
The only problems I've encountered in this release is the random Exceptions being thrown when trying to play certain tracks. Doesn't always happen though & usually closing/opening the app solves it.

go to the review page ( click ) and tell us why you need a free copy. 10 random winners will be chosen . Good luck

The PPCGP will be discussing an indepth review of the nanogroove software on its NEXT Show on Wednesday, January 20th, 2009 @ 9PM EST.
http://www.ppcgp.info
I just purchased the app for $5.00.
So far this is what I have experienced.
-Sound quality much better and louder than the freeware groovefish app
-Very user friendly
-Doesn't lock up or freeze
-Can add as many songs as you want and queue them up as you please
-Album art on most songs is nice to have
-Can hit the power button to turn the phone off and music continues *HUGE PLUS*
-Very finger friendly -finger scroll up or down- i had problems with the freeware app picking songs as I tried to scroll or struggling to scroll in general
-All songs play - freeware app 70% of the songs didn't play and would remain on "requesting stream"
WHAT its MISSING
-Saved song playlist - an app that cost money should have this small feature or at least a recent search *10 previous songs played*
-When you are listening to a song and a call comes through, the song should be paused and restored if the call is ignored or when you are done with the call *you have to open the app and click play in the player currently*
-Navigation pad should be compatible with the scroll list so you don't have to use your fingers if you don't want to
If I find out anything else I will let you guys know.
IMO, its worth the 5 bucks especially if the developer keeps making improvements..just hope for an auto update function when that happens.
it doesnt work on my HD2
Am sorry to say that this program doesn't even initialize on my hd2 using wifi and gprs both connections.
I wrote an email to assistance about this, and hope they reply soon
tested and bought.
i tried the free trial (you can open the trial version as many times as you want- it will only run for 5 minutes). I decided for $5 (i spend that much at starbucks wo even thinking twice) i might as well give it a shot.
I am very pleased with the results (but i am not real particular).
1. you can navigate to any song or artist and build a playlist that will play automatically (you don't have to pick one song at a time, listen, search for a new one, over and over etc.)
2. nice professional interface.
3. Playlists- ok- i hate to argue with the reviewers and mrhankey but this is my experience with the playlist.
a. i do not pay for a VIP membership at grooveshark.
b. i cannot create a playlist on the mobile client (nanogroove) but i can access the playlists i have created on my free subscription to grooveshark. I don't know if i am supposed to be able to or if it is just a fluke- i just know that i can bc i double checked before posting here.
so i think it is pretty cool.

no need to be sorry. the function works for me. like i said- not sure if it is supposed to, but it does for now.
I may well be -very- biased in saying this, but charging for the use of someone else's free service seems extremely inappropriate to me. I thought I was skimming the edge of legality with Groovefish given that it doesn't even attempt to support Grooveshark's advertising, but this may be a step too far.
That said, it's no skin off my nose either way! The app seems quite easy to use, and I'll certainly keep an eye on it's development. I certainly won't be paying for it though.

good point, its just a content deliver system. Though there are some services that do this already (twitter apps, Facebook apps, IMing software etc.)

Excellent program. Great and elegant interface.
Nonetheless... Indeed it is somehow weird to charge for the use of a third person's free service

If the app works correctly, and makes it easier on us *the user* the fee asked for is small. For 5 bucks you can buy a big mac combo from Mcdonalds.. or for 5 bucks you get all the features that actually work in the groovefish application.
I have seen what freeware can get you, and now you can see what an inexpensive music apps gets you. Well worth the $
Not working on my HTC Diamond.

Yes, you are right, it's worth the price. It's an excellent program. Gonna buy it.

It works A bit slower than Spotify on my N86, but hey, $5 for the app, and then free music? WOHO
WARNING! THIS IS STILL IN ALPHA STAGES... (v0.2.1a)
And that's because I don't mean it to be a Tube8/porn viewer. It's going to be a video viewer for all types of websites. So until I get to that stage, alpha!
However, it's fully-functioning in the sense that you should be able to get to any movie on Tube8. There are some bugs... I'll list the ones I know below. You MUST follow the steps below to get this working.

}
(wow, took a while before I found a kind-of-work-safe image... but you saw Tube8 in the header, you should know better)
STEP 1
This uses PYTHON! You must have PythonCE installed for this to work. I'll explain why in a second, but the link for pythonCE is here..
Get PythonCE
STEP 2
Install the CAB file below. (I'm crossing my fingers that it works ok.)
STEP 3
Copy the THREE .pyw files in the attached zip file to the /Program Files/Python25/Lib folder. (Unzip them!) These are crucial! (Some unzip programs will capitalize the file names. CHANGE THEM BACK to all lowercase if this happens. Python is case-sensitive and it's looking for these files with lower-case names.)
STEP 4
Have a video player set to open M3U files by default. I KNOW this works with CorePlayer. I'm not certain it works with TCPMP (maybe mine sucks ) For CorePlayer, it's not enough to just install it. You need to go into Tools->Settings... then select the page for Associations and check M3U.
One thing you WILL notice is that not all videos will play in CorePlayer. I can't figure out the reason, but some of the videos are encoded in VP6 (FLV4) and Coreplayer can't read them. However, a good two thirds of the videos do work... just keep trying.
OK, maybe you noticed that these python files are named XBMC. Well, my intention is to get most (or all) of the plugins that work for XBMC to work for my app which I think I'm going to name 2Kinetic - Mobile Video Viewer. So far, it should work with the Tube8 plugin. I did not write this plugin, and I would not normally package it with this app, but I'm still in testing mode so... hopefully I haven't stepped on anyone's toes.
You'll notice that PythonCE is a little slow... well, it is not super fast, but I think you'll be able to live with it if we can get everything else that XBMC does working on Windows Mobile. Besides, if PythonCE turns out to be incredibly useful on the WM platform, maybe someone will take it up again and put out a better (newer version).
Known bugs:
-Back button doesn't do what it should always
-If net connection is down, the program will crash
-Images don't show up on the initial screen unless you scroll down, then back up... or you wait until it finishes loading.
-Many more i'm sure...
To Do:
-Write a new class for displaying images and text... i'm currently using listview (small icons). This will let me display more data (vid length) and fix the image loading behavior.
-Speed everything up
-See if TCPMP will open HTTP addresses as streams from an *.M3U file (how 2Kinetic currently works)
-Make a nicer search page (the default one is ugly and not convenient at all)
Future:
-Get more plugins from XBMC to work
-Get a better overall video player to work flawlessly (maybe TCPMP)
-Get RTMP support worked into the program (on the way )
Good idea, thanks.
I've seen your post on WVD's thread. Maybe you're app could enable to the user to fix some html or others to make the app reworking when video-websites have changed. No?
I hope your app will be a "better and working" wvd soon.
If you need help, but only for a translation in french, i can help you.

I've got some ideas for that... like using an XML file containing regex expressions that will auto-update via web (or by hand). I really wanted to mimic how XBMC does it, but XBMC uses python and pythonCE is not perfect yet. I'm still thinking about it.

Ok, good idea. Do you think that in future your app may enable some "plugins" ? For exemple a dev' create a plugin (xml file) for a website like youtube, we put it in a folder, and it works. It's a good idea, to my mind.

In english please.
How does it crash? Do you have an error message/log?
Just so everyone knows... it will crash if there's no internet connection. It will also crash if tube8.com is unreachable. There is absolutely no error-handling in the program at all. There is no log file either.
I was hoping that someone would say, "Yes it works for me on GPRS."
I'll keep working on it anyways.
If you are having trouble saying what you want to say inEnglish, french is ok since I can understand you, but we all prefer english normally so that everyone can understand
BTW - YOU MUST HAVE NET CF 3.5 INSTALLED FOR IT TO WORK. I think most new roms come with it, so this shouldn't be a big issue, but just in case.
It worked great for me,I have the Sprint Touch Pro2 using stock ROM,no problem at all, thanks for your great work.

Both worked great.
DIAM500
Telus
It crashes for me, I believe its because its trying to save the file to "storage card" but as you may or may not no the DIAM500 only has internal memory no SD slot. Other wise it loaded fine and showed all the previews.
I've forgotten to say it, but it works for me too.
I use an acer tempo x960, with wifi.
For me it crashes when I press flv... If this app tries to save to the storage card that may be the issue in my case (maybe it's a regional or unicode issue... since in my localization the storage card folder is named "Cartão de memória".
PS: If you're going to add more sites I leave the same suggestion as I did for WVD: make your app scriptable in a similar way to PSP Tube (and its mods... here and here are some scripts that may help making the addition of some sites faster). In the long run this would require less (official) updates.

Yeah, it's hardcoded to go to "/storage card/" so it will crash if it's in another language or not there. Well, this was just a test to make sure those sites aren't doing anything other than checking the HTTP Headers for mobile devices.
As for scripting... I did not know that PSP Tube existed. I'll look into those... I was definitely going for a scripted version that others can contribute to since I don't want to be the one to fix it each time a site changes their format.
I'm still working on it...
And thanks for all the responses so far.

Good luck, i can't wait to test new version.
Good to know. Will keep an eye on development.
hey buddy, nice to see this.
i'm working on a similar app for android and started with tube8 too, cause it has easy accecable videos. Maybe we can share information how to extract the video infos.
I try to make my app pluginbased so that it is easy in the future to add new sites. I'm a android beginner (without my own device) so it takes some time.. but tube 8 works quit good at the moment.
P.S.: For android devices its important that the site has mp4 support so the sitesupport is very limited on android at the moment.
sxe: PM'd you...
Failed on GPRS when I clicked FLV...
WebException - Could not establish connection to network
I think I have everything working except for the Search function and the back button...
But the behavior so far:
1. You're presented with a series of menus
2. If you select Categories, it will show you a series of categories.
3. Otherwise, it will show you a list of videos with name and thumbnail.
4. Doubletap the video and it will open CorePlayer automatically and stream it. I had no slowdowns at all like I used to get with WVD and TCPMP (although I think that was TCPMP's fault and not WVD).
Ok, now all I have to do is fix the Search and Back buttons... then learn how to package this whole thing into a CAB file and I'll upload it for testing
Edit: Oh, and I need to put in a lot of error handling so that you guys can tell me what it says when there's an error
I was looking for a way to stream my media on the go. I tried VLC, but that was too buggy, orb was too slow and then I came across TVersity which works great.
You can access it with the webinterface when you are on the road. It works very good on the A101, but it is lacking some features. So I wondered if there is an apk available with some more features. If there isn't I think I am going to write one or adjust the webinterface.

I had some time this weekend and am almost done with writing my own app and webinterface for android to access the Tversity webserver.
If there is interest in this, I will develop it further, so that it is end user ready. If not I just fit it to my needs and I am done with it.
The program is a small apk that needs to be installed on the archos and some webfiles that needs to be copied to the server where Tversity is installed.
Maurice
I'm definitely interested!
me too on archos 10.1 and 7.0
love to get this app too
Nice work divx118!
Shame TVersity don't have a linux alternative. I do believe there is one in the works though, so I'll be keeping an eye on your project... if you undertake it that is.

Unfortunately there is indeed no linux or mac version available. For now it is windows only.
If I find some time next weekend I will see if I get a beta version ready no promisses though. For serving videos I have it almost ready. There are however some issues with streaming audio when you are not on the local network. With some files the music player on my 101 will crash. I think it is the long url that is the problem I had no time to investigate if this is indeed true. I myself will not use music streaming, but I see if it is possible to solve this.
For video files I have thumbnail support, with a work a round. It needs the thumbnail with the same name as your videofile in a folder where also my webcontrol will be.
If you however have XBMC installed it is just a few minutes work todo this. I am also looking if I can get it to work for the parent folders, now it is only working for the video files itself.
Maurice
very interested, i already use tversity for 360 streaming.
I'm interested also!
I'm interested as well...
I am still working on it. My free time is however limited. That is why it is taken so long. Atleast this weekend I have some time available.
A little update on what still needs to be done and what is ready before a first release:
1) creating the APK to install on your archos. This is ready and is working for videofiles streaming. TODO for the APK is cleaning up the code and put in some error catching. Also I still have to decide if I use a new intent to play audio files or integrate the mediaplayer in the apk. For videos I use a new intent, this means it will start the default videoplayer for playing your videofiles. For audio this didn't work so well in my testing.
For handling the pictures I decided to do that entirely in the webcontrol, which is much easier.
2) The webcontrol is also almost ready. TODO is integration of pictures viewing like a slideshow etc.
The features are pretty simple. You can add two urls in the apk one for if your are on your local network and on for when you are on the road. Further you can adjust the number of items that will be displayed in one view. I tested with 100 items and it was very fast.
You can choose between thumbnail view and listview for pictures and a seperate item view setting when in thumbnail view.
If you have anymore features that should be added you can just post a reply with your suggestions.
Maurice
thanks for this.
the default video player isn't cutting it for me.
Can't wait to test this out when it's released
ditto, can't wait to test it out!
Hi,
Try Qloud Video, it is same as 'AirVideo' on iPhone,
search it in market and you will surprise.
Leo
Any chance we can get a look at your current app? I am dying to get my hands on it. If not such is the way of life.
Interested, this would be awesome to have.
Just a little update:
Playing audio in the apk is ready. Audioplayer is pretty simple start, pause, next song, previous song and shuffle the playlist. You can also click on a song in the playlist. Only playing mp3 gives sometimes a scrambled output. It seems to be an archos issue.
You can use a horizontal swipe to switch between audioplayer and the webview.
I also want the same implementation for images, because displaying them in the webview is a bit slow. That is what I am working on right now.
Another feature I added is when rotating the archos the GUI rotates too.
However it still needs some work before a first release, it is the first time I code in java and on android. So I need todo some research to see how things are done. Also I don't want to release a version that only half works and then putting my time in answering questions "when do we get an update?", "Why doesn't the app work?" and so on.
Please be patient
The release will be in the near future, I guess I need a few more free weekends, maybe less to finish it.
Thanks to all for your interest.

Hereby I attach a logcat output of what happens when I try to run Rainbow Six on my XPLay, version 2.3.3, and the subsequent force close. Perhaps it can be helpful: http://pastebin.com/02jK09Yr
Someone with Sacred Oddysey, another game which FC's on 2.3.3, could upload his/her paste as well and maybe there's some common element between them.
This isnt going to help you much, but i can say that i still use 2.3.2 and all games run fine.
If all else fails you could try a downgrade, if this is possible?

Enviado desde mi R800i
heres the logcat for rainbow 6 working on my 2.3.2 firmware, im not getting much of an output though.
Looks like you pasted too late into the game's startup for that to be helpful.
The game appears to be checking for the firmware revision on the Xperia Play:
Code:
I/System.out(17851): firmwareeeeeeeeeeeeee : 0.145
D/AndroidRuntime(17851): Shutting down VM
W/dalvikvm(17851): threadid=1: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x2aac8560)
E/AndroidRuntime(17851): FATAL EXCEPTION: main
E/AndroidRuntime(17851): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo{com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftR6HP/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftR6HP.Game}: java.lang.NumberFormatException: unable to parse '0.145' as integer
It is expecting a whole number, an integer. 2.3.2 probably hands off "141" whereas 2.3.3 is handing off "0.145" instead of the expected "145". The game then chokes because 0.145 is not an integer but a floating point number. It's a very simple fix on Gameloft's end, honestly.
Here's the relevant part of Rainbow 6 starting up on my 2.3.2 Rogers Xperia Play:
Code:
I/ActivityManager( 194): Starting: Intent { cmp=com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftR6HP/.Game } from pid 1744
I/System.out( 1744): motionEventHasSource try-----:
I/System.out( 1744): firmwareeeeeeeeeeeeee : 181
As you see, it's a proper integer so the game runs properly.
I am having exactly the same issue with Sacred Oddysey. I've sent them a ticket about it with the logcat output, but they won't fix it before Monday.
Make sure you point them to my post above which should outline exactly what is wrong.
This may seem strange but try starting up the game while having a wifi connection.
Gameloft games check the authenticity of the game every once in awhile and they need wifi for that.
It works now download the game again from the market and 1MB additional data
Crdit goes to thomassafca for update
