SIM not working? - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone have the issue where the SIM card isn't recognized? I'm on the RR newest ROM and the card isn't being recognized...I'm about to try the stock ROM and see how that goes.

Similar problem
I`m in a similar position I think. However, my phone recognizes the SIM but when checking the SIM-status the mobile radio seems to be off. I can´t change preferred network type, it just jumps back to "TD-SCDMA/GSM/WCDMA/LTE , I get no results when searching for mobile networks and when I use the *#*#4636#*#* - menu the "Turn on radio"-option wont respond. I`m on latest stock firmware and the phone is still displaying IMEI-numbers. I bought my unlocked European version of Oneplus X yesterday on an auction site, the seller has good reputation and he claims that it worked fine for him. I got a new SIM-card today thinking that would have solved the problem, no luck there however. I also did a hard reset and downgraded to an earlier version of a stock firmware and the error is still there. I noticed I had TWRP v.2.8.7.0 blu_spark r5 preinstalled when I bought it, its a custom kernel right? Could something related to the kernel be the root of the problem or the baseband? Any suggestions on what to do next?

Unlocking TG01 help. I have my unlock code

Ok quick run down of what I done so far.
Received phone on Thursday at work. Phone was locked to Orange UK
I came here and found out how to get unlock code ([email protected]) :-D
So while I waited for the unlock code to come through I thought I would change the rom.
I flashed the phone with the rom from the following post.
[ROM][ENG] TG01/T01A Debranded UK + Manila Sense 2.5 v0.011 (14/04/2010) More RAM!!
Flash went fine.
I just got my unlock code so inserted my sim (02 UK).
My problem is I have no unlock request and the attenna icon constantly has 3 dots animating after it and when I click it, it says "searching..."
Any ideas?

This will give you the original ROM (Orange branded (unless you use the Italian one!!)), but you'll need your IMEI to download.
Will it still work even though I have windows 6.5 installed?

That is the official site and you can chose one of them. There are fr,en,it,sp and gr languages.
Just need your IMEI to download it.
Your work but have modified internal registers. So I am not sure if coming from there your problem or because the ex owner did something with the radio. I have
post that I say, you can put more than 3 times your unlocking code, but I don't know how many times you can put it. May be 10 or 100 or ~ times, now buddy know exactly. Personally I put it something like 15 times but I am not sure. If it is completely locked and the ex owner block the radio. Solution is to use orange sim card, turbo sim (I don't like it) or call orange and see what they say. Just need to try everything before.
But before that I told you lets try.
1 Put original ROM and see if then you have the unlocking msg with your card or other different than orange or than your original provider. If possible try 2/3 different sim card.
2 If 1 didn't work try to put sim from original provider and see if work.
3 If 1st not work and 2nd work then the problem is with the radio.
4 Need to call your provider to see if they have any solution.
5 If they haven't solution, try turbo sim or use sim from original provider until we find solution how to change the radio.
6 Now we are in ROM test development so may be there we go to have new solution.
Who know ?
Well I downloaded the rom and started the update. Phone rebooted and I got the white screen saying it was downloading something something, can't remember the message but its part of the flashing process.
Anyway this only seem to take about 2mins???. When I did my first flash with the custom rom it took about 10minutes! So then the phone rebooted, back into the phone and nothing has changed! To me it still looks like the same custom rom I had before.
I'm going to try another sim now and will get back to you later.
Cheers for the help so far :-D

Wen you flash a custom ROM you can't see difference because is the same just missing some program and change some registers. 90% custom Roms you can see differences is inside the programs. Added or deleted programs. This change if is not good may cause a bugs (errors). For this I told you to change to original Rom. To try things how it come from shop and try find solution.
And wen you try other sim card post all msg you receive. And all steps you doing.
From my experience (my phone is locked to Docomo), If I flash UK original rom and put non-Docomo sim, the phone will show sim locked screen and allow me to enter unlock code while Debranded rom (from arag0n) doesn't.
I got this rom from mr.mike (only for T-01A) but I'm not sure that his original rom is the old 6.5 UK rom or new 6.5 UK rom (voice problem fixed).
sorry bojan6 I think there was some missunderstanding there so i will explain more.
-When i got the phone, it had original rom which had windows 6.1 installed.
-I installed a custom rom which had windows 6.5 and manila sense 2.5. this rom took about 10 minutes to install.
-As you requested I downloaded the rom from toshiba's website. I ran the install and it only seemed to take 2mins to install, alot quicker than the custom rom.
After installing the rom I expected manila to be gone and the 3 stripes menu thing to be back and all the Orange branding to be there but it wasn't it still looked like the custom rom and is debranded.
Any way I tried a t-mobile sim and still the same problem. Put in an orange sim and it worked fine.
ok I think the problem is the rom is not installing right.
I get the following error.
SD downloading failed
Invalid Variant!!!
I thing is the radio problem. How long do you left the sim card try to connect? Did you try before the change other sim card wen it was still with wm 6.1?
Did you try to enter in phone settings ? If in phone settings you receive msg insert Network PUK that mean you have problem with the radio.

This msg you have wen you try to install not original rom in phone. Just need to use tg01_sddl+.exe I uplaod it for you.
thanks bojan6 that worked. I can report the phone is now unlocked.
So it would seem that you must have an official rom to unlock the phone.

Great news. I am happy you have unlocked your phone.
So now you can change your Rom and play with it.
Any chance of repeating the procedure with another phone ?
Can u suggest the list of roms u've used?
had the same issue, this is what i done
i had the same problem, i flashed my phone with a cooked rom then tried to unlock it and it would not bring up the sim locked screen, i tried for hours and then i thought if i reflashed the phone with the original uk orange rom then this must work??? i flashed the rom and as soon as i put a none orange sim in the unlock request popped up, i then entered my unlock code and the phone unlocked straight away. i then reflashed with a cooked rom from here and all is well, phone unlocked and debranded YERRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! anymore advice needed then just PM me, many thanks to this forum and the people who reply to threads...................
I have just bought a tg01 unlocked mobile phone. I was wondering if I should try some of the latest roms that are available on this forum. At the moment I believe the rom on the phone is a cooked version and the details I have found are below.
os version - 5.2.23563 (23563.5.5.0)
manilla version - 2.5.20121412.1
The phone at the moment is prone to the odd lockup for no obvious reason and I cannot connect the tg01 to my laptop that is running windows xp.
I have tried both activesync and mass storage and the phone will not connect but it does get a charge from the usb cable when plugged into my laptop.
If a rom upgrade is a good idea then would my phone remain unlocked after the flash ? I have no actual unlock code because the phone was sold to me in an unlocked state.
Thanks

since ver 4.0.4 has some issues, would suggest u to rewert back to stock 4.0.3 and then see if the issue persists, if its not there then stay with v4.0.3 untill a stable v4.0.4 is released
ps- do not make any wipes in recovery, or backup ur phone with the same with v4.0.4 since the same can potentially brick ur phone
SIM is not dead. turn out to be a phone issue. not resolved yet but find it very strange how it can go from non-lock to locked with network control key prompt.
used GSII repair from the market, it resolved the issue but now the phone is unable to turn on any security pattern prompt for instance, and it has a weird box logo right on the home screen.
anyone had this problem before?
Yes I've suddenly had this issue, but found the app 'Galaxy_S Unlock' on the market which quickly resolved my phone being locked.
But the problem persists as it randomly locks itself again, and I have to use this app again, bit of a pain as this is a work phone, but luckily it still unlocks with this app.
Looking for a permanent solution, anyone have any ideas what the real issue is here, and yes I'm using v4.o4 firmware on my phone.
My SII just got the OTA update to 4.04 this morning and is now doing the same thing, my carrier is pretty indifferent as its unlocked so I'm trying to get help out of Samsung. Mostly adding my 2c to give the topic a bump
Same trouble here after a flash to Resurrection v3.0.5, prompt of Enter Network Unlock Control Key.
Tried the unlock apps from the market and no go, tried flashing a few other Roms, restored a few nandroid backups, factory resets and still nothing. Put the SIM into my backup phone to test and no problems with that.
Strange when accessing the menu at *#7465625# the network locks were listed as off.
What did work for me was to flash back to the original stock Rom that came with the phone (KG2 Bell). After the reboot there was still no signal so I entered stock recovery and did a factory reset, cleared cache partition/dalvik cache, fix permisions and reboot.
After that all has been working good and was able to flash back to my nandroid backup.
I just packed it off to Samsung, they didn't admit fault but the phone is out of warranty but they are fixing it free of charge. Smells like victory..

Phone/ Text Problem after rom flash

I have already asked in the specific Q&A section for my phone but I thought i'd branch out to the community as this seems to be a general phone query.
THE PROBLEM
I have a problem with my phone where I can't receive or send text messages or phone calls however i still have signal and can use mobile data. The problem occured from a rom flash coming from Kalgecin's Unofficial CM10 builds to Chameleon 1.2.
ATTEMPTS AT SOLVING
I have contacted my provider's, T-Mobile UK, they have told me that everything is fine with my settings and have suggested I take the phone to a T-Mobile store.
I have used my sim in another phone and everything works.
I have used a friends sim in my phone and the same problem occurs
I have made sure the SMSC is that of my providers T-Mobile UK.
I have tried flashed a generic stock ICS 4.0.3 rom.
I have taken the phone back to T-Mobile 4.0.3 stock.
I have tried the following but the problem still persists.
Phone Version
PDA I9100BVLPD
PHONE I9100BVLPB
CSC I9100TMULPD
Hopefully someone can help. Cheers

Problem with SIM cards after kitkat update

hello good night. i am writing from Portugal and the problem is this. i made an OTA update do the S222 row Kitkat and all went well. the phone boots normally and works well without the SIM cards. after i put the SIM cards the problem begun. the phone does not recognize the SIM cards and it pops up continually a message on the screen "com.android as stoped" whitch make virtually impossible to work with the phone.
i read that it might be a problem with the modem, could you tell me the best way to solve this situation ? can i flash only the modem with the recovery , and for portugal what would be the proper modem to flash ? 2G network work with 900/1800 and 3G with 2100
i saw the topic of stympy, and the diferent modems that he shows.
could you help me please, i would like to try kitkat but at the moment it is impossible for the reasons that i explained
thanks in advance and sorry for my english.

Hi. To answer you question, you may try this:
First you must root your phone and install custom recovery TWRP.
Here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/help/rooting-tutorial-kitkat-t2835605
And here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/len...oot-install-twrp-custom-recovery-kit-t2849538
Now go to my post How about some modems, here:https://drive.google.com/folderview...&usp=sharing&tid=0B2ORIgaV4iacOVpDTDcxYW4taDQ
Download and flash ONLY the ones from EUROPA.
Good Luck.

hello, maybe could you help me. i returned to the previous version that i had, installed, which is version X-viberom by xakep. the baseband version for that rom is the V52, which i presume is for chinese version. i think that the x-Viberom as chinese version for base.
with that baseband i never had any problem with the SIM cards, the two work without any problem .
the question that i would like you to help me is the following: with that baseband V52 i have to install a chinese rom or is it possible to install that modem over a ROW version ?
thank you very much for the help
hello. i already solve the problem, and after all it was so easy. i disable automatic date and time and automatic time zone and went to apps, phone and then i perfomr clear data and voila, the phone works perfect. thank you for all

[Q] Phone settings say g900f but odin says g900t

Hi Guys,
2 months ago I bought a Samsung s5 in Hong Kong.
While travelling through South East Asia this device worked fine.
While traveling through New Zealand (Old home) this phone worked fine.
While traveling through America (New Home) this phone worked fine for the first 2 weeks (on the metroPCS network).
The problem:
Randomly after 2 weeks the s5 stopped connecting to the metroPCS mobile network even though the network was available (btw metroPCS uses the T-Mobile network). It gives errors such as network not available or cannot register with network.
Things I have tried:
-Im sure the APN settings of the phone have not changed and I have double checked to see if they are correct.
-replacing the sim card with another does not fix the issue
-soft and hard reset of the phone does not fix the issue
-Getting metroPCS to refresh the service on this number does not fix the issue
Other important info:
-This phone was purchased in hong kong but it is from the Philippians according to Kies's firmware information (XTC is the country code)
-It is running a custom allianceROM that must have been installed by someone in hongkong
-The device is rooted (superuser app installed)
-the model number as shown in settings is g900f BUT when attempting to flash with odin the phone displays g900t and fails to flash the latest Philippians verison of kit-kat
I have 2 questions:
1. Any ideas why my network connection has suddenly self destructed (and how to fix)?
2. Would flashing a stock ROM to my s5 help? and if so why is there conflicting information on which model I own (g900t/g900f)?
Please help. I do have some know how on flashing android devices but i've really hit the wall on this one guys!
Cheers,
Yetti.:cyclops:
It's not uncommon for the model # to be different with a custom rom as that is a very easy thing to edit in the build.prop. It should tell you under the battery which one it is. As far as the network issues, check to see if the baseband and IMEI are still there and not listed as unknown or incorrectly. It's possible you could get away with flashing the appropriate modem that matches with your update and that might work better in this region vs the previous one.
Please list the Alliance rom version and baseband version here in case it's relevant to your issue.
More info
Im not sure if this helps but looking through the build.prop file in the system folder my ro.product.local.region=GB
When in recovery mode the region is set to XTC (Philippians) using mutli-csc.
Also my IMEI number seems ok and is NOT blocked.
Cheers. Yetti :cyclops:
Baseband and rom etc
Thankls for your reply!
Sorry when you say "under the battery symbol" do you mean in /odins boot script on the device/ or /in settings on the phone/?
Baseband is g900TUVU1ANCH
Build Num: AllianceROM_G900F_XXU1ANCF
If the "no network" issue can be solved with the current firmware that would be the most desirable solution but going through the flashing process may be a good idea for my learning process, and will help with future updates.
Do you think getting back to a stock rom would help me?
tHANKS AGAIN!:cyclops:
Model confirmed to be g900t
Sorry i didn't understand the "under the battery" thing. I was lost in software world. The sticker under the physical battery says SM-900T so i guess that confirms that it is a t-moble verison (and the baseband is therefore correct).
I will try to flash the T-Mobile stock image to the phone and see if that works.
Also i will try to flash a modem (after i work out which one i need).
Cheers, Yetti :cyclops:
Current status.
Flashed the stock T-Mobile firmware to the phone. No success.
Flashed new modem to the phone. No success.
Will go to the T-Mobile store tomorrow to see if they can help (I doubt it but i have to exhaust all the options).
Any more help would be appreciated...
cheers, yetti:cyclops:
By under the battery I mean like to take off the battery cover of the phone and pull the battery out and look at the sticker found there.
G900t.

Yep it says g900t (see above)
As per flashing a modem. I have heard that it is possible to flash any modem for any version of the s5 to the phone. Some work well and others not so much. I have tried 2 T-Mobile modems (baseband) the G900TU1ANCH and the G900TUVU1BNG3 with no success. Do you have any recommendations for a modem to try (or even a custom ROM that might help?)
Cheers,
Yetti :cyclops:
I know that you mentioned they refreshed the service for your number, but do they have the correct IMEI in the system for your account? Metro makes a big deal about that now and you can't just take your SIM from another phone and pop it in a new one and go like you can with pretty much every other service (Cricket is like this too now).
