Hey all, very new to the forum. I want to know if there is anyway to root this particular tablet? There isn't much, if any info on the make of the tablet, but the name of the tablet is called MATCO_MAXME its a diagnostic scan tool for cars and trucks. and it running android 4.2.2. Thanks in advance.
I too wish to find this out, or if it's possible to move the software to a more powerful tablet.

I have a 7-inch Android Tablet, but I can find virtually no information about it. Is there any way to root a device like this? It is running 2.2.2 and has some loaded apps, but no market. The device is:

You'll have to run the page through a translator (unless you read Chinese). What is possible with a device like this that does not show up on anyone's list of Android devices? I'm trying to put it through its paces, but this is difficult when the device is seemingly unknown. Perhaps there is some way to determine core components and extrapolate to similar devices?
Recentlly Graphisoft anounced an app for iphone and ipad called BIMx wich allows the user to explore a building model
Is there any way to port it to an android device because they say that its not available for android platform (yet)
Any way to doo it without haveing to buy an Ipad?
Hello!
I'm interested is there any Android e-book available?
I want to get to known with Android platform to start creating some applications, I do know that's based on Java, and that's not my field... so I would need something for like "begginers".
Thanks
Well, I would recomend you an Amazon Kindle Fire but if you like something for a "begginer", what about a Nook Tablet?

If your thinking about an e-ink reader, the Sony PRS-T1 e-reader is running Android and is easily rooted to allow custom apps.
Hello, I'm rather new around here, but not very new to the Android development world. I haven't made my own ROM before, but application development, rooting, and the like are nothing new to me.
I'm currently working on a project installing a home automation/security system. There is a central server that everything will be connected to, and I need to develop an Android app that will connect to that server and be able to send it commands and recieve basic output from it.
What we're wanting to do, is use cheap tablets running like Ice Cream Sandwich and put a very very light custom ROM on, that only has the core Android OS, and this app, then on boot automatically opens to this app, and you can't exit it or do anything else from the device.
I'm not really sure where to start with this, or if making a ROM is the wrong way to do this, if anyone has any resources or tips that could be useful I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm interested in this too. Did you find out anything more on this perhaps?
It is very late to answer, but ...
Why not use a web-server that communicates with the control hardware?
Possible from a PLC or one PI controller?
Here a screenshot of my system running on an industrial PLC.
It is only the main screen what you can see but i can control everything,
so far i can get the network protocol with wireshark .
Did this ever go anywhere?
