Anyway to get the ios volume slider on Android? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I haven't touched an iPhone in many years, but to this day I still miss the volume slider for music. It was nice to be able to turn the volume up just a tiny bit if I wanted to. Without it sometimes turning the volume up by 1 is too load, but 1 less is too quiet. Is there anyway to get the ios slider on Android?

[MOD][Request] Trackball to change volume on Lock Screen [N1 CM6 RC2]

Hi,
I use my N1 to listen music on my car. The problem is that the way the mobile is fixed prevents me from accessing the volume buttons. Since I use Cyanogenmod that now has music control on the lock screen, I was thinking that if there was a way to change the volume using the trackball there too It would be perfect ... less commands, less attention required to change the volume... less danger while driving.
Is it possible to make the trackball control the volume while in the lock screen? Not on the home and not when sleeping, just on the lock screen ...
I was thinking something like... rolling right and/or up to make the volume go up... and left and/or down to make it go down...
I would really appreciate any help.
why not just use the cars audio controls?
Because I use the cellphone plugged directly on an amplifier.
I know that it is a specific situation, but I would use it also with the dock. Sometimes when I want to raise the volume it gets out of the dock...
+1 on this one, would be very useful indeed!

[Q] How to disable the Vol UP and Down from changing Ringer loudness

Hello everyone,
I am really annoyed with this feature that causes change in ringtone notification sound if you happen to hit VOL UP and DOWN keys on idle screen (when on unlocked screen). I happen to hit these keys quite often and my ringer volume is often too low and I wonder why didn't I hear my phone ring?
In my opinion, if I need to lower down the ringer volume (or increase it) I'd do it from settings menu under voice call management.
Is there a way to disable this "shortcut" to increase decrease ringer volume when on idle screen, or doing anything while screen is unlocked?
thanks...
Bump.... so is this impossible to achieve guys?
I dont think ive ever heard anyone complaining about it. I suppose you can use something like settings profile to keep it constant, but as far as remapping the volume keys I havent seen anything yet

Global volume control

Coming from sense and cm7 on other phones I was surprised the sgs2 didn't have this by default.
Is there any way for the volume keys to control the global volume for the phone?
Meaning
Ringing
Notifications
Alerts and so on
I mean I put my volume low not to disturb people sometimes but the volume for the other things seems to stay at the levels selected under settings-sounds-volume
Other phones with various roms had an option for
Use ring volume for all sounds which avoided this issue. Is there a way around this issue? I would use miui or cm7 normally but they are too buggy for this phone right now.
Had my phone volume at lowest above silent yesterday and then got a notification which woke up my baby daughter cause volume for notifications was at 50% in settings.
Not cool
Thanks for any help on this

Right now I have to resort to using apps that make profiles. Which I didn't have to use this old method of changing my ringing or a 3rd party app

[Q] Avoid accidental mute disabling

Hello,
S3 is my first smartphone ever, so please be patient
Since I'm a student, I put my phone on mute during the classes (through the notification bar).
However, it happened to me twice now that accidental touch on volume up hard key took me out of mute. This is of course undesirable... Is there a way to disable this function of volume-up key?
I want to remain muted until I cancel it on notification bar.
Thanks!
bump... can anyone help?
Sad....it remains a big drawback of the android phones that we cant make different profiles for volume like Nokia phones......
I think you can only do this by finding a tone with no sound and setting it for all the alerts manally from sound setting before entering your class room
anyhow this is a good question and hope some devs can desable vol- button for enabling full vol. back
Thanks...
but modifying it manually at the beginning of each class, then again at the end, is not very comfortable.
Perhaps it can be fixed with a mod? something like that:
- clicking volume up if phone is not muted increases the volume, as usual.
- clicking volume up if phone is muted doesn't do anything.

Question Set to vibrate

Coming from a Samsung where holding volume down you could set it to vibrate only for notifications and calls. On the P6 it seems the volume button only directly affects the media volume and you have to hit the three dots to pull up the volume menu then move the ring tone and notification slider. Is there an easier way? Thanks
This works.

Having owned several OnePlus phones over the years, I have so gotten used to the side slider 'button' to quickly silence the phone. I am seriously considering buying a Pixel 6 - but just wanted to know from Pixel5 owners etc, is there a way of...
