Help with installing ROM - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I just rooted my i545 s4 running on 4.3.
All i want is to update to a 5.0 or higher version.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks

U can update manually with odin just download stock samsung firmware vrugoc1 or vrugof1 either one is 5.0 but you may loose root. if you do oc1 has been rooted I'm sure you can find the info about rooting oc1 in this forum

I've got everything downloaded and ready. Even removed root just in case. But I can't get the drivers downloaded/updated. Always fails. Any thoughts?

[Q] How to unroot galaxy mega 5.8??

So i rooted the device using odin 5.0.7 and saw that i cannot update my O.S
Can anybody give me a step by step instruction on how to unroot my device or if there is any way to upgrade my rotted device??
P.S-I am a newbie and i know very little about such things
If you have superuser by chainfire then you can unroot using the app itself. Otherwise download and flash via odin any stock firmware to unroot. Better still flash the latest stock instead of ota updating.

If you want root you are going to have to flash the new Roms as they are released and not try OTA anyway. If you want stock, that's fine, but you can't do much around here with a stock Rom.

Thats for i9205 my model is i9152

Steps to root, put on a recovery and flash stock android (cm11 or 12)

I am having a hard time finding the correct steps to root then install a recovery then install cyanogen mod or whatever ROM works the best for the S4 for stock android steps.
What it be possible for someone to please post the correct steps in doing all that so I do not mess my phone up? And having the correct links in the steps for me to download the correct software would be also very helpful. Thanks so much in advance

We need more details about your phone, before we give you instructions on how to root & flash it.
What bootloader are you on? If you have a new Samsung Galaxy S4 or accepted an OTA update you cannot install Cyanogen Mod. CM ROMS only works on an MDK bootloader with the loki hack.
If you have a newer S4 or accepted an OTA then you'll have to use Safestrap to install touchwiz based roms. (Although I think there is a safestrap GPE ROM out there)

Do you mean NK1? From the Verizon site it seems the NK1 is the latest update http://www.verizonwireless.com/dam/support/pdf/system_update/benefits-galaxys4-12-1-14.pdf
Here's a link on XDA on how to root the NK1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-to-root-i545vrufnk1-4-4-2-12-1-2014-t2959613
Here's the link to GPE ROM for SafeStrap I would read this thread thoroughly before even attempting to flash it, not sure if it works on the NK1 bootloader. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ow-to-install-aosp-s4-google-edition-t2817708

[Q] Still on stock rooted 4.1.2, best procedure to upgrade to stock rooted 4.4.2?

Sorry that I haven't been keeping up with the latest developments in bootloader unlocks, roots, recoveries, etc.
I'm on stock rooted deodexed 4.1.2 with unlocked bootloader and a probably now ancient TWRP. What is the best way for me to get to stock rooted deodexed 4.4.2? I don't see any guides for this sort of thing here. Thanks in advance.

i just received my phone from getting sboot downgrade at mobiletech videos... it was on 4.1.2 also. download the twrp manager app in playstore. update to 2.8.1 ( i think thats the recommended one for some AOSP roms) flash the new version. reboot. download whatever 4.4.2 rom. make sure its rooted and knox is removed. move to sd card. boot to recovery & install. if you have wifi issues you'll need to flash MJ9 firmware. and firmware only. or you'll lock your bootloader. some say you can flash via recovery but odin is what most recommend. i went from 4.1.2 to 5.0.1 w/o having to do the firmware update and i dont have any radio or wifi issues. good luck

Flashfire: Can it be used to install zips like a recovery?

I am at Lollipop 5.0 OC1 with root. I was never able to install suSuper or get OC2 to install while I was is SafeStrap so I installed a rooted Lollipop OC1 .tar via Flashfire. So far so good... except ATT wants to push an update on me, which I declined knowing I'd lose root.
I assume I need to/want to go to OC2 . What file would I use to do that and can I use Flashfire to do that? I don't have access to Odin on this machine (company machine is locked down and I can't add the Samsung drivers)
Can I install the StageFright fix via Flashfire as well?

Thanks but had you read my question better (and that thread), you would have seen that I was asking about going from OC1 to OC2. I used Flashfire to get to OC1. I was asking if you can get from OC1 to OC2 using Flashfilre.
True,but so far I haven't seen oc2, yet,
Also i have been able to use flashfire to flash any oc1 based rom with out safestrap
Also please use the Q&A session

I'm pretty sure many here on xda took the oc2 update while on rooted oc1 and didn't loose root. carl1961 has a thread with the oc2 update zip. Check that thread out (can't remember exactly which thread sorry). It's a config file, rename to update.zip and don't see why Flashfire wouldn't flash. I hope this info helps

Anyone have stock firmware?

Just looking for the latest stock firmware for my S4. I've tried several sites, even tried paying for premium on one of them (rapidgator) and even that doesn't download successfully. Just want to get this device back up and running.

I've got them all (unmodified Stock Firmware) on my File Host Account for the JFLTEVZW located on the following link.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=158750
Their zipped up for size. You'll need to remember to unzip them first.

Don't update! 4.2.2 and 4.4.4 are the best versions S4 can have. Search a tutorial for 4.2.2 CWM or Root but don't update, you will regret after
