Hello,
I own ZTE V967S and it served me well for two years. Yesterday I started to get messages that apps and google play services stopped responding and after restart I ended with some weird message that says encryption was unsuccessful . I have a custom AOSP-based 4.2.2 rom and CWM-based recovery. When I enter in the recovery i get this:

I wiped all that can be wiped and in my panic I formated /system, /data, /cache
I cant mount this partitions but i can mount /emmc and /sdcard
When I try to install zip from /sdcard I get this:
I also tried to push rom via adb sideload but the result is the same.
So is there anything I can do or it is a hardware problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302599 try this?
I tried it same as the picture above

You mean you edited update-script but still status 7?!
You are lying now e.e
Status 7 is to prevent phones from getting bricked by flashing wrong or un-signed ROM
If you tried the above and edited the script then go to your CWM settings and disable signature verify or something saying signature...
Result?
I didnt said anything about status 7. I have a rom in my sdcard so i mounted it, i opened the file and deleted the lines (at least i think i did because the picture showing which lines is no more available ). Then I tried to flash it again.
As far as I understand there is something wrong with my partitions and should not be hardware problem since I can mount /emmc and copy/delete files from it.
And I used this rom few mounts.
WTF in your Recovery log it says :
---------- Post added at 19:15 ---------- Previous post was at 19:15 ----------
Underlined status 7 error
---------- Post added at 19:16 ---------- Previous post was at 19:15 ----------
Take a screenshot of your updater-script in your ROM with assert deleted?
---------- Post added at 19:18 ---------- Previous post was at 19:16 ----------
Nothing is wrong with your partitions
It would say couldn't mount EMMC or Flash eMMc something error so Its not partition or hardware issues
Just the ROM maker made a mistake when compiling the ROM
woah can't see anything...
but... now noticed that your recovery is Carliv
Just do this...
Toggle both verifications to Disabled...
Sorry didn't notice it at first
both toggled
I think I will flash stock rom via SPflash tool. My biggest fear is that i will be unable to write on /system /data and /cache and something will go very wrong. I re-sized my partitions last year or something. The other thing is that i can adb my phone only in recovery. I dont see it any other way. I think android debuging was not checked before my phone broke.
Didn't work?
Your partitions are fine :/
because there were no eMMc errors in CWM ...
Can you flash stock ?

Hi everyone,
First of all, I would like to wish Merry Christmas to the Community Members...
Secondly, I am stuck on a very irritating problem: Read Only File System
I Rooted my phone, Flashed CWM 6.0.3.1 a month ago. Since then, I tried various ROMs here and I found this problem in all ROMs I've tried. Basically, I am not able to Change my System Files.
I tried ES File Explorer to overwrite but it says: Permission Denied!
I tried all File manager, but failed!
I tried mount -o remount,rw /system but neither it changed the permissions, nor it gave any error in Terminal.
I used Terminal and tried the chmod command, but it says Read Only file system
I tried to make a Flashable ZIP using this method, but even this doesn't change the files.(No, it does not show any error while flashing the zip through CWM)
Actually, I was trying to overwrite the boot animation, but the thing is that my whole system seems to be Read Only.
So, I would like to ask for help regarding this.
Thank You
Best Regards,
THAKUR

flashed roms. ..? ehh is your bootloader unlocked...?
second it looks like a root problem . try this method to gain root again (if you're already rooted ,then go to supersu and in settings do permanent unroot) ,it roots your phone in 28~35 seconds ,

Ok. So the problem was solved on the same time as I posted this thread.
What worked for me:
When I tried mount -o remount,rw /system, I was still not able to Fix permissions through ES File Explorer. Then, When I tried mount -o remount,rw /system 2 times, and then I used the Default File manager(Cyanogen File Manager) to change permissions, it was working.
Ok. So the problem is solved now.
Thread can be marked as SOLVED :good:
Anuj, Thanks though
Hey all
Today around 9AM I woke up and Checked everything on my phone,Everything was fine until around 1PM I came to my phone just to find out it ran out of battery,i Plugged it in and it was charging
after charging was Complete , I turned it on and got stuck on bootscreen
Every possible thing is on Stock(Rom,Kernel,Even Unrooted) , I Got it to Recovery mode and it said something like "Mounting /efs Failed (Invalid Argument)" ,I read Couple of Tuts and tried to fix it using adb (Here)
I flashed CWM 6.0.4.3 , But I Can't get adb to Recognize my phone,I have kies on my pc and I've installed all the drivers, yet my pc fails to recognize my phone
Any thoughts on how to get My PC to Recognize my phone while it's in CwM Recovery mode ? or any other ways to Fix this Son of a Biscuit?
P.S. Running XXUGML2 Firmware
I will be more than grateful if anyone could help me :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for Your reply
Is there any way that I can just get Windows to Recognize the phone ?? and From there use "adb shell" Command to fix it ?
My problem is about /efs Partition and I don't think Flashing a Rom will Fix that
AFAIK efs Related Semi-Softbricks are the hardest ones to solve and I haven't even FLashed One thing on my device my Counter was Zero before I Flashed CWM Recovery , It's Not Fair !
Edit: Seriously ! I've been looking Everywhere but there is simply no article about "How to get adb Recognize GT-I9300 in CWM Recovery mode" It seems like No one knows how to do this (
p.s. I Attached an image From my DM

same me i have random corruption of efs i not know what is problem i not find it, only solutions is to restore efs backup from twrp, when the efs is corrupted i have no baseband version no imei ecc and elevated battery drain, this is totaly random i can't find solution
Hey folks,
I think I briked my Phone last night but I dont give up on it.
What happened: I tried to flash a new ROM because my current Custom ROM didnt appeal to me at all. So I went into TWRP and made a normal wipe. Then I tried to install new new ROM.zip. The first odd thing was that I couldnt navigate to the download folder on my external sd card. The good thing was that the old ROM.zip was available for flashing so I decided to flash the old ROM anew. And then...nothing happened. I couldnt intall the ROM. Not even the Gapps.zip was able to be flashed.
Then I thought I could try it via Fastboot on the PC (I have a Motorola x Style/Pure) and googled how to do it. I found a command to install a .zip and tried it. But it didnt work: It said smth like 'Bootloader denied'. So that wasnt the ways to go for me.
After that I went back into TWRP and looked on the command line. And there was smth odd aswell. I said: "Failed to mount '/cache' (Invalid argument). The same with 'data'. The internet said I should format (not wipe) the storage in TWRP. I tried it and although it said that it was successfull nothing was...TWRP is still unable to mount cache and data.
I found out that it has smth to do with the encryption but idk.
So that is my problem: I cant install anything. I cant format anything.
Pls if you have any idea on this pls tell me. I already ordered a new phone but it would be nice if this phone didnt become a paperweight...
And thank you if you read till here. Aaaand sry for my bad english

Hii there!
I am relatively new to this so I'll explain everything I know and tried so far.
I have a Micromax AQ4501 Android Phone running marshmallow. Recently My phone started acting strange like apps suddenly crashing. Yesterday, My phone ran out of juice. After charging it for a while, I switched it on and it was stuck on a boot loop. It has happened many times before. I usually fix by flashing it with stock ROM available on Micromax website. But now the case seems different. I first unlock the bootloader by going to fast boot and by using "fastboot oem unlock" then "fastboot -w" then when I restart my phone I should get a Micromax boot logo with oem unlocked written below. I then went to recovery to check something out. When I entered recovery, It showed E: cannot mount /cache (Invalid Argument). I tried to factory reset in recovery menu, it still showed the same thing. Even /system couldn't be mounted. I cannot even flash the ROM as I cannot unlock the OEM. I read few forums and many suggested to try it with different recovery. As I couldn't flash it, I used Android One Toolkit and booted into TWRP, CWM and Philz8 recovery. In all those, I got the same error message. In TWRP, the internal memory showed 0MB and in the mount selection, I the system, data and cache option were grayed out( Couldn't select them). I even tried to wipe cache method, still no luck. So From boot loop, now my phone is bricked. I have attached the images regarding this. Images 1 and 2 are of stock recovery. The remaining are from TWRP recovery.
Can someone please suggest or guide me through how to restore my phone. Here is my email just in case [email protected]
Since this is my first post I cannot share the link to my drive. Upon request, I will surely share those images.
Thankyou
Shamanth S

Hi there.
I have a Galaxy A50 (SM-A505FN) with 128GB. I rooted it with magisk (original firmware from sammobile (link below), modified on unrooted phone with magisk manager, flashed through download mode and odin).
The issue is that the phone now says it only has 16GB of storage.
Conneced to my PC it also only finds 16GB of internal storage.
I added a picture of what the terminal says the partitions are.

I read about correcting partitions with twrp but since i dont have that i want to ask if there is another way to fix this.
Thanks!

i can only see 10 GB on your screenshot. check one of the following
Code:
cat /proc/mtd
cat /proc/partitions
cat /proc/dumchar_info
you can download parted binary and check
Code:
parted /dev/block/sda print
note that the 6263-3234 block in the first screenshot is the sd card. i dont have it encrypted so im wondering why it seems to be mirrored in the /mnt/secure/asec block. i did however click the 'copy files from sd card' when it popped up i believe. but even if that did something, it could only block 64 of my 128 gb.
displaying partitions worked, heres the result:
i see that sda shows the 128gb capacity and sda32 seems to be whats is usable for the phone after taking out all the neccessary partitions.
unfortunately i don't know how knox works, all i can see is /data is not mounted, maybe knox prevents
try to uninstall KNOX with su -c pm disable com.sec.knox.seandroid or something
@mirfatif same problem here, must be something new. i have never seen before. maybe permission problem with magisk or some sort of disk quota
data is mounted /sbin/.magisk/mirror/data
(or /sbin/.magisk/block/data)

No idea. Can't conclude anything unless OP performs some troubleshooting steps. Whatever the case is, "/data" must be a mount point. May be something to do with SELinux, or mount namesapce, or new Magisk changes for Android 10. I'm using old Magisk release on Android 9. So may be missing something new.
