Dear Experts,
I am basic user who has been using nexus sofar and have purchased Redmi 2 Prime for first time from Amazon 3 days back.
I have in past unlocked boot loader; RootedNexus using TWRP recovery and created nandroid backup.
However I have been trying to read MIUIforums from last many days and am thoroughly confused now.
Request for kind guidance in as much detailas possible and elaboration. Thanks for your patience in advance.
1. Why in so many threads for rooting itnever talks about unlocking Boot loader first and straightaway jumps to rootingfor Redmi 2 prime?
If Iunderstand correctly from my past experience with nexus; mandatory first stepis to unlock boot loader which resets device to factory and then go ahead withTWRP installation.
Am I Missing something?
2. How many types of standard ROMS arethere – it seems there is Global; stock; India; etc etc. Isn’t this so soconfusing which one I am supposed to use.
3. H2014811, 813 etc. – What are these andhow DO I find in my phone? I have attached screenshots of about phone but couldnot find anything on similar lines. Pls guide.
4. My current phone spec shows –
Model number HM 2LTE-IN
Android version 4.4.4 KTU84P
MIUI version MIUI 6.7.1.0(KHJMICH) | Stable
Build number KTU84P
Now How can I upgrade from KITKAT to Lollipop5.1.1? At least the latest android should be there on new phones?
Also fully confused about MIUI 7 so muchhype around it.
I myself dont know why but I trusted them so I followed what they have wrote in MIUI forum.
And to know what is your model number. Shutdown your phone > Remove battery and try to look at the sticker and read it if you found this for example HM20140817, it means that is your model number. it starts with HM.
Edit: I don't think so Xiaomi will release a lollipop update for Redmi 2 Prime. MIUI 7 is already available but it is not yet stable, some minor bugs still exist and it is not yet release for public. It is still in developer version.
There is no need to unlock bootloader in Xiaomi phones. You just have to flash the zip file and voila your phone will be rooted and bootloader comes pre unlocked.
So here's the thing. An exploit dated back at around 2006 was discovered recently that potentially gave the user access to write on read-only files in the system. Google has only patched it recently in the latest November 2016 security update. Since Samsung couldn't bother to update us past the August 2015 update, there's a strong possibility for temp-root here.

I'll see what I can do, but anyone who bothers to read this, please share this to developers and ask for their help. Thanks for reading.
Dear community, I've spent the last 3 days to read here in XDA regarding S9+ TWRP/root, but I'm getting only confused.
I have S9+ 965F still in the box (never powered on), I already have all the needed software.
Reading alot here on XDA (and not only) I found several methods, but I'm worried about OEM Lock. Tutorials report 2 file that should be flashed with TWRP, but still not clear what I have to flash to avoid lock:
RMM-State_Bypass_Mesa.zip
N965F_Root_for_OEM_issue_devices.zip
Also, may I have to wait for 7 days after 1st configuration?
So, at current time, what's the correct procedure to install TWRP and root Galaxy S9+?
Thank you
Lucas

Go to the twrp thread and read instead of asking about how to do it. All the info you need is there, dont know how you missed the most important thread to read if yiuve been reading for 3 days though
And yes you will likely need to wait 7 days for oem unlock to appear.

Hello everyone!
I just bought the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and I have a question.
I have always had HTC and SuperSU and Magisk but the dev are very fast and I had my update even before their releases.
If I root under magisk My Mate20Pro, I would not have access to the official update anymore?
Because I see that there are only two ROMs, so I do not want to miss the next official update ...
Thank you all!
Because Huawei don't allow bootloader unlocking you'll be extremely lucky if you get a working root. There is someone who says they sell a root (I'm not going to advertise them here - have a look at other threads) but I wouldn't trust them and the prices are ridiculous.
The reason there's so little development for the Mate 20 Pro is because BL unlock and root is not readily available so, if that's what you wanted to do, you've sadly bought the wrong phone.
Hello everyone,
I have the galaxy s21 5g rooted with magisk and Odin.
Everything works fine.
Now I want to try out the android 12 beta, but I don't know how to install the android beta or where to download and how to hold my root.
I don't want to loose my root.
Sry if this is a stupid question I'm new to this procedure.
Thank you all.
I've read it's available in the Samsung Members app, but it must vary upon region or something because it's not there for me.
HI there, sorry for the late response. There is an OTA version you can download and sideload (Via ABD) its in the S21 Ultra Thread. There is a video posted there aswell on how to do it etc.... Im not sure about holding root etc, but you can ask there.
I sideloaded it on my SM-G991B (S21 5g Variant - Exynos)
How to and download in second thread
[OneUI 4.0 Beta 1 & 2](EXYNOS) Update.zip for S21 / Plus / Ultra - Download OTA Link
So, now that we have OneUI 4.0 Beta 1 rolling out to countries (ofc only 7), it has come so far in Germany & Korea (as far as I know). So the rest of the world wants an update.zip link, so don't be selfish and please, if you have one, capture the...
