This thread is for sharing my latest flashable Sony Ericsson Music app.
Sony Ericsson Music Player
My Viper4Android - Using Convolver
What I do to get Viper running and set to my liking:
Install the ViperEnforcingSurroundSu.zip - Boot
Start my walkman player
Settings/ Sound Enhancement/Viper/UI Settings/Expert
See images for my Viper and Faux Sound settings
Convolver - Impulse Response Samples
Copy this zip to SDCard and Extract
Now the the IRS samples *.irs files should be visible in Impulse Response drop down in viper settings. If that doesn't work do the following:
Either manually of through terminal
adb shell
su
cp /sdcard/ViPER4Android/Kernel/*.irs /storage/emulated/0/ViPER4Android/Kernel/
or
/storage/emulated/legacy/ViPER4Android/Kernel/
If you still cant see the irs files when you select Impulse Response, Check Viper app information and confirm that permissions have been granted to Storage.
My Music Player
Here's my favourite player. I bought poweramp but run it only when for some reason the combination of the latest stable sony ericsson music + viper4android fails:

Not sure V 2.3.4.0 viper4android_v2
Only for CM13.0 sir?
Thank you
Don't hate what you don't understand
will it remove audio fx from cm13 caf ?
edit: will it work with permissive ?
Viper 2.3.4.0 still working for mi on MM
®®®TAPATALKING®®®
Not working with official cm-13.0-caf
I had tested with temasek caf being run in enforcing mode.
Edit
I just discovered that it doesn't work with official CM-13.0-CAF without Super Su 2.66 installed.
It needs Super Su 2.66 to work

There are many versions. I was using Yash98's version for enforcing surround, and it didnt work after Jan 1 security update mmb29s. I am not too sure if what I have done is robust enough.

Yes it will remove audiofx. I havent tested it on permissive, but there is no problem with Viper in permissive mode anyway and you dont need this.
After testing on latest cm-13.0-caf where it didnt work, I am not sure if it will work with cm-13.0.
Edit: It works with CM-13.0-CAF with Super Su 2.66 installed
Alert
Sorry, after testing with latest CM-13.0-CAF, I find that this mod does not do what it is supposed to do. It works CM 13.0-CAF only with Super Su 2.66 installed. I need to check further with CM-13.0.
Super Su 2.66 is mandatory on MMB29S or it can work with the good old 2.52? Because I already have that version. 2.66 was buggy with bootloop.

You need to try, I am not going back to Su 2.52. First try without Super Su. Then 2.52 and finally 2.66. There is no problem with Su 2.66, and it is supposed to boot loop once or twice on first boot. After that it works perfectly. Google and CM and both constantly increasing security levels, and it is better to keep pace.
Viper and Convolver - my settings
A member of RACER Nexus 5 Community @G+ asked for my settings. This post shows:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64721479&postcount=2
Edit:
ViperEnforcingSurroundSu.zip is working very well with AICP hammerheadcaf without Super Su 2.66. Probably this ROM provides internal links to MusicFX (which Viper replaces)

@toocool4all
I use the latest official Viper apk, but make changes to how su policy is handled to make it work. Google is tightening security with every update, so it may be difficult to keep pace and make root applications work as we go forward.

Just the rom and supersu
I flashed the wrong build earlier...oops...
Bluetooth is fixed! However, I tried flashing the newest supersu 2.56, since the inbuilt still doesn't work, and the binary files wouldn't update. So I then tried flashing supersu 2.52...and a I got a bootloop....so that was probably a bad idea....d'oh. Clean flashing again now, and if I can get supersu to work, this will be the first MM rom I've used where everything is working.
I can't get root to work on this room. Inbuilt or any of the MM verisons of supersu.

The "tweak" File is also included in the Patch ZIP, but it's just more easy to Download both Files instead of extracting the one file from the ZIP on Android.

Hey Guys!
I actually have been looking for a way to get Viper4Android working today. And i actually found a method to do it. By luck, OnePlus posted the Oxygen 3.0 based on android 6.0.1 today. This version of android is compatible with the newest version of Viper4Android. This version actually comes without an equalizer like 2.2... but oh well. I liked viper way better anyway.
Just wanted to give my 2 cents to the forum.. just wanted to let people know there is opportunity here to enjoy better music while you are waiting for CM 13 like me =)
How i got it to work:
- First install Oxygen 3.0 with a custom TWRP created for Oxygen 3.0 (see this url: link to oneplus forums)
- Secondly, use the custom made SuperSU (credits to @Yash98) = this link
- When the phone is updated and rooted, you can install BusyBox through the app store. After you did that download the APK of Viper on your phone via the original XDA thread
- Don't run it yet. Download SELinuxModeChanger via the original XDA thread.
- Change the mode to permissive, go back to Viper and install the drivers. It'll ask you for a reboot, do so. After the reboot open Viper4Android and press the 3 dots on the right high corner. Examining the driver status would show that the driver is enabled. If it's not. Try to empty the google music cache & removing the data (i did so somewhere in the process).
Hope this can make anybody happy. I'm an audiophile so i'm more than happy.
- Shakaraja.

If you still are on OOS 2.2.x then V4A will not work. This fix is specifically meant for OOS 3.
If you are on OOS 3, then try reflashing OOS 3 with a clean flash. This might fix it, but only if you are on OOS 3.

Hi, I modified some file in the old v4a version to be able to install on new android 7.0 Nougat in enforcing mode until some permissive kernel will be released
I tried the new vers. of v4a (ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5_guitardedhero) but didn't like the new interface and the new sound quality, this old vers. has the super audio quality driver enabled together with Dolby Atmos and offers an improved audio quality over the newest one (in my opinion)
by doing these 3 steps above you'll also have enhanced audio output volume through headphones
STEP0. make sure you already have stericson's busybox installed on your phone before anything else
STEP1. just flash this zip file through TWRP www120.zippyshare.com/v/Jr4TLKB6/file.html
STEP2. replace these 2 files from this archive in /system/etc and give them permission 644 (rw-r-r) www79.zippyshare.com/v/GXEFYNUh/file.html
STEP3. reboot
enjoy v4a and dolby atmos working together on SElinux enforcing mode
Nice!..Can we make the stereo sound of our a5 stereo?

What's your step?
Whcih busybox are you using?
Supersu or magisk?
I think magisk might be the issue.
Every where i searched, guys are suggesting supersu to be better option for nougat when it comes to installing v4a.

It works
In my case, I am now in lineageOS 15, and it works perfectly.
Follow the installation steps as described.
also remember to install busybox, it is very important.
And that your Selinux is in permissive mode.
