[Q] Recent Apps Intent or widget or app

Does anyone know what launcher intent should be called, to bring up the "Recent Apps" list in the default home launcher? I am using a Pandigital Novel, and the lack of hardware keys make it very awkward to navigate the system. The softkeys in the OP status bar allow me to get to the home screen, and if I glitch it by making it timeout through countless presses occasionally brings up the "Recent Apps" screen which is great, but not reliable like that. (If they had the source code released, I could probably just fix the status bar keys to intentionally [pti] bring the screen up)
What I need, is the actual intent, so I can make a quick toggle app to bring it up. Or if you know of an app that already does this (Or widget, but I'd rather not as widgets mess with sleep on this thing, with the Google Experience/market hack).
I know that it can be done by emulating a home key press that's longer than the longpress timeout. If anyone knows of an app that does that instead, or how to code that, that be great
Noone? Not even an idea? I've searched all of Google's Android Dev and guide site, and there is no pointers there on this. Please, if you know, let me know.
Looking for the intent to launch the gb task switcher from statusbar.Anyone?

[App] Oops! Applocker, An Applocker without pin/pattern Lock

This application locker does not use any on screen password ie. pin based or a pattern based locking system.
We use volume key pattern as the password. You can make any pattern using volume keys, like UP UP DOWN UP, default key is three times UP.
You can choose the background for lockscreen for each application. Default is None ie. A transparent see through screen.
-Nobody even notice it is locked.
-Fake app in launcher as K-Note.
-Clean and neat.
-Transparent screen makes as if your application is stuck.
-You can fool your friends.
Never even allow others to get into your privacy.
Happy Locking.

Google search from the nav bar

I f*&#ing hate this stock rom! If anyone could tell me how, or if there is a way by disabling a service, to stop the google search popping up when you swipe past the home button or hold it for a second. Aargh!
Install Google Now Launcher or Nova.
Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
I have the pro version of nova installed. This has no options to disable this feature
Install Tasker for example. Then if You swipe the home button the popup will show with apps to choose - then choose Tasker (use always) that could do just nothing.
Now if You swipe home button only white circle would appear - that would do nothing.
I should have pointed out that my intention is to stop this circle popping up, so i can use the slimpie controls and disable the navbar completely. I am afraid I am struggling to come to terms with just how limited a stock rom is. Sure I can get root via the sony dev website but at this point I think all the fancy algorithms for camera performance would be removed, as well as throttling for thermal control.
When you Google Search, you find https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hk.sld.SwipeLaunchDisabler
The Irony
I'm using this app to fast lock the screen when I swipe up the home button
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock
otherwise you can use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dynamicg.homebuttonlauncher
to have more options respect to open google search
Just FYI:
- This is called "Swype up for Google Now" in old Nexus manuals.
- Now in Android 6.0 is replaced for "Google Now on tap".
I don't really know how to disable it.... Maybe trying another Launcher.
Thanks for your input. however the home button launcher will not achieve my goal, and the swipelauncher disabler is comically pointless! It is less a disable function, more so it just doesn't launch my browser, choosing instead to flash the screen at me! It is clear that I will not be sated until custom roms come about with some CM or AOSP goodness. Please hurry devs, I want to love this phone...
I'm a bit late to the party and I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but I've just been disabling some apps on my z5c and one of them was the Google Now app (I think it was called). Because the bubble popping up was from the Google now app, it has stopped appearing ever since. Hope to have helped.
Disable the Google App
Yep remove Google Now or I just tried this and works well (you cannot prevent the animation that will still persists, but the action gets revoked the way you have requested.)

BlackBerry Launcher allows short and long-press keyboard shortcuts for homescreen

I was thinking, if BlackBerry Launcher allows you to customize keyboard short-cuts to any key on the Priv/KeyOne, maybe it'll do the same for the Gemini.
Yes, it does! The launcher isn't as flexible as Nova, but it allows you to set up keyboard shortcuts while on the homescreen. So, for example, I can quickly go home with Fn+D and then long-press M to launch Google Maps. You could toggle Tasker shortcuts or anything else as well, possibilities are pretty endless.

Great thinking. It does work! I created Ctrl+ type short cuts.

You created shortcuts that require you to hold down Ctrl first? How? The only options I see are long and short press.
I mount the Gemini in my truck as the head-unit when I get in (I'll share the solution in another post). Just created a Tasker profile that when I long-press Q it turns the display brightness all the way up, sets display timeout to never, connects to my Echo Dot via bluetooth, then reads back "Car Mode On."
When I hit Q again it reverses everything and says "Car Mode Off." I'm having fun hacking this little device.

I installed the BB launcher then just pressed the Ctrl key with a letter key (e.g. "e") and the launcher offered me some options to link to this combination.

No, it's either a long or short press of a single letter. You are unnecessarily holding Ctrl, it's not needed.
I tried Blackberry launcher but couldn't get it work in landscape, anybody been successful for this?

Make sure your Planet App Bar is set to Force Landscape and Display Settings are set to Stay in Landscape when Rotated, or get an app like Ultimate Rotation Control which allows you to fine tune rotation, which is what I did. Set it to Force Auto, which will allow apps to rotate that don't normally allow that.

Custom shortcuts instead of assistant

I'd like to be able to replace Assistant-triggering actions (long-pressing home or double-tapping power) with a mini-drawer of apps and shortcuts that I set myself.
Basically, I'd like something along the lines of Swiftly Switch or Shortcutter to appear, without using some awkward screen gesture. I'm sure Map Assist must be the best first step, but none of the apps I've tried to create a menu have a process that Map Assist can see.
Can anybody help?
I do not have root.
Thanks!
