Bricked my HAM2 - Huawei Ascend Mate 2

So I had the latest firmware from huawei but i customized it by deleting default desktop manager (what do u call it...) and a buncha other stuff so i did a factory reset forgetting this and when i loaded and it went through the wizard.. it went to a blank iconless screen. When I restarted it was screwed.
It would just make a sound chirp and beep beep or something like that...
I tired a bunch of things.. I managed to load /dload/ to the microsd... i had twrp bootloader and i loaded back the default one... but it wont detect the ota update...
So what can I do in this case?...
Don't care about root or anything just need the phone working again with the default thingamajig.
It used to be a wind phone which is unlocked and now its a US based one (the string modification thing.. so its like a US/international model -- had to do this to be able to update to the latest firmware).
Any suggestions?

Oh thank God... I found this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62508471&postcount=3
And it mentions to hold up+down+power then letting go of power once huawei logo shows.. and it started upgrade from /dload YES!!!!
I hope this helps someone else... 16% in progress....
Been a while since I did anything with the phone and forgot this...hopefully this gets be back on my feet with this phone...

Rooted phone gone bad! Can I just wipe to factory?

Some of you might have seen my earlier thread, my ReZound is rooted. HTC sent out the ICS update my phone attempted to install it and afterwards it would not advance past the white HTC screen. After many hours of playing around with it (being semi-noobish to all things rooting, but decently knowledable with technology) I realized that on the H-boot screen it was telling me that the Image was missing. I assumed that the HTC update deleted it? After thinking about it, I thought that maybe installing a custom ROM would fix this, so I grabbed Scotts Clean ROM. Sure enough I did and I was finally able to advance past the white HTC screen. It looks as if everything is working fine with the phone now EXCEPT I have no data and no calling connection. Im assuming that my phone is just that messed up from the attempted upgrade this morning that im missing files needed for the connection.
My next thought was to just say heck with it and do a factory reset hoping to get back to a bone stock phone that at least functioned, but when I try the factory reset it doesnt work....
Any ideas of what I should do next? Ive spent 5-6 hrs trying to fix this phone today, I really hope to get something figured out. Thank you everyone for your help!
EDIT: I feel like an idiot... Because of putting the battery in and out for resets I left the back off the phone. I now have service. Main issue now is that when I try to call out, as soon as I type a number on the dialer it freezes up and restarts itself....
The phone still tries to look for the old image on the restart and gives me issues every time on startup still also. Id like to be able to get this back to not needing a ROM....
If it were me, I would download the official RUU for ICS found here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...cream-sandwich-ruu-for-final-ota-3-14-605-12/ IIRC, mirror #3 was the fastest. Then follow the directions from that site:
After downloading the file, rename it to "PH98IMG.zip" (no quotes)
Place the renamed file onto the root of the SD Card
Power down your device
Reboot into the bootloader by holding VOL DOWN + Power
The flashing process should begin automatically
Let the device reboot, and you should be done.
That will get you up and running. Then you can go about rooting it again if you like.

[Q] Problem with Factory Reset and Keyboard

Hello everyone and thank you for your time in advance.
First of all, I'm relatively new to the Android OS so forgive me for any mistakes I make describing my problem. I'll try to give as many details as I can, mostly steps I took that I believe that might have led me to my problem, but please feel free to ask anything if you think it could help.
TL;DR version: My problem is this: I'm stuck in the Google Account signing in screen. The phone is requesting me to "Slide keyboard open to continue" while I don't have any keyboard and there is no box on the screen where I would press and the digital keyboard would appear.
So, I have a Sony Xperia X10 mini (i guess its short name is x10i?). A year or more ago I firstly rooted my phone, used xRecovery to flash Cyanogen Mod on it. I'm sure I had the 2.3 Gingerbread version of it. My first "problem" is that when I first looked into the rom's settings (CM Settings) it had many options with the HTC abr in front of it. I didn't tweak most of the options that had that HTC tag on them, only those concerning the keyboard. When I tried to type, it showed different versions of a keyboard on screen, but it always showed a keyboard up. Keep this in mind.
Now, 2 months ago, a friend of mine did something to his android (a galaxy one, cant remember which) and he said the applications were running smoother. He is kinda more informed about Androids than I am so I trusted him and we tried to do the same thing to my phone. It was about Fixing Permissions or something. I deleted the cache he told me through xRecovery (after I backed up ofc) and then booted the phone, only to find my settings and user data lost. The backup I made that day was possibly not complete or something, because when I tried to restore it, it failed and so I lost my SMS/contacts etc. I restored a much older back up and it DID work but I decided to run the most recent one anyway.
From that day on, my phone somehow decided to return all calls as busy. Whenever someone called me, it gave them the busy message and after a while I got a message that they called me. Sometimes for a single call (or irrelevant to calling SMS they sent at another time) I recieved many exact same SMSes. I put up with this situation for a while and tonight I decided to reset my phone and get a new mod in it, or even refresh the same - I didn't really care. So I exported my contact list which was all I cared to save to a file in my sd card (which file I backed up) and tried to see if my xRecovery worked, because my friend told me that it all may have to do with it being corrupt or something.
The result is that I couldn't even get to the Recovery. Not with pressing the power button, choosing to reboot from recovery. Not even with the power button and back button pressed, or repeatedly pressed. Then, I decided I just wanted to reset the phone so I foolishly thought of a factory reset so I could reroot if needed and do the process from scratch. I chose the option, it rebooted. After the Sony Ericsson logo though the Cyanogen Mod logo started to load, which made me wonder why since I thought it would just load the firmware it had when I bought it. And then it started with the press the Android to begin (after the PIN request) and now I'm stuck in the google account set up.
Please help me out, I apologize for the wall of text. It would certainly be fine with me to somehow reset the phone to the state it was when I bought it using SEUS or something like that. I tried doing that tbh, but then all this firmware came up and I didn't know which one to choose plus I can't find a working link to download SEUS, PC Companion etc. Otherwise just please help me out with the rom i used and how to fix this keyboard problem cause I'm thinking the rom wasn't good for my x10mini. Also is there any way to see my sd card's contents via USB with the state my phone is in?
You can skip the google-account setup in the setup wizard ( I think there's three buttons below each other, just press the bottom one and it will guide you through the wizard without actually having to type something
A factory reset just resets all values to factory (or custom ROM) values and deletes all user-data (except the stuff on your sd-card), it won't restore the original ROM.
If you want to start over, do a repair with SEUS (SUS nowadays) of PC Companion, which will give you stock 2.1 back, after which you can go through root etc. again to get your current ROM back..
Or you can give me a pm and i'll provide you with stock firmware which can be flashed using flashtool.. I assume you are still on the stock kernel, ie, you haven't unlocked your bootloader?
ps: the x10 mini is the E10(i or a) or Robyn, the x10 (the big one) is the X10(i or a)
Thread moved. Please post all questions here in Q&A in future.
Thanks
AvRS

[Q] I believe I am bricked, can anybody help? (p769)

Before the incident, I had root, no unlocked bootloader, stock JB, v20h.
What had happened was I was trying the Font Installer app in th Play Store because of the added customization that would have been nice.
I found a cool font, and I backed up my current fonts and then pressed install. SuperSU asked for permissions like normal and then my phone restarted.
Then it was so that my phone was stuck at the T-Mobile boot animation after the LG Logo. For about 15 minutes. This is where I believed something was starting to go very wrong. After contemplating for a few extra minutes, I decided to just take out the battery and restart. Same outcome. I thought of all the things that were on the phone thus far because I had just gotten it recently, and decided that it wouldn't hurt me to just do a hard reset by pressing home + vol down + power. Everything went smoothly. Except for the fact that even after I did that, it was leaving me at the T-Mobile screen.
I decided to look on the forums for development and tried to do the unbrick method, to no avail after about 3 hours now. I used the LG User Support Tool and since I hadn't updated to V20f, I decided to do that to see if it would solve my problem. It still didn't, and I'll be honest, I'm a little upset just typing this right now.
I also tried the Upgrade Recovery option and it warmed my heart to see that the process was actually starting. But right at the screen where it says that it is supposed to be downloading something, it freezes up and nothing happens no matter how long I wait. I saw somewhere that it should be a glowing red bar, but I do not see that anywhere, it is just frozen, saying Time Elapsed: 00:12. And before anyone asks, yes, I ran absolutely everything as an administrator.
Is there any possible way to bring this phone back? Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

did you hard reset? then turn off your phone disconnect the battery, connect to the pc holding the volume up button? then try the Update Recovery?
i would just go through that process over and over until it works, theres not really a way to brick this phone i've heard...

Thank you for your reply! I have tried hard resetting multiple times, but I had removed some bloatware apps (I will quarantine them next time instead because I don't wanna go through this ever again) and I have tried the kdz method to only be stuck at 15% every time when I followed instructions to the pixel. I have tried to do it on windows 7 and windows 8. I have also tried the fastboot method by lelus, and that manages to "work" but I am still stuck at the tmobile boot screen afterwards. I have gotten the hang of the process of getting into the fastboot, but what do I do from there? I chose to flash ics xloader and uboot, but the process goes by so fast, I'm not even sure it is doing anything. The LG Tool has really gotten me nowhere, it just gives me a lovely error and then cannot continue the upgrade recovery process.
It said somewhere that after I flash through the fastboot I then have to try the kdz method, so I am going to do that now and see if it works. I don't know if there would be a difference between flashing a jb kdz or an ics kdz, but I will just do ics to be on the safe side.
I am quite happy to say that flashing the ics kdz was successful, and my phone is now up and running.
My p769BK is stuck on the LG screen. /: months
Sent from my LG-MS770 using xda app-developers app
im terrible with fastboot, i used the unlock the bootloader for noobs with an offline flash.
heres what i did to get out of bootloops....
alright, this is all from memory but the offline flash didnt work as well for me when stuck in weird bootloops.
Step one-going back to online flash---->
A---
the easiest way i found was to go to C:/windows/system32/drivers/ect/hosts
right click>open with notepad
there should be two lines at the bottom
"127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com
127.0.0.1 csmgdl.lgmobile.com"
i would cut them out and paste them in a text doc in the same folder for reference later...
but either way you should remove them from the hosts file and save
B----
Make sure your small server is closed! once you minimize it it should go down to your status bar (shttps)
Step two-LGMS---->
make sure you have LG mobile support installed or install it.
open lg mobile support
install needed drivers for your phone
power your phone off/remove the battery
put battery back in
connect it to your computer holding down the volume up button
S/W UPDATE mode should pop up, if it doesn't preform and hardreset and try again til it works (it will)
then in the top right corner there should be a button or two click them both until you see
"restore update" or Update restore or something to that effect
select that
and let it ride man
i got my phone ****ed many times and just had to keep redoing this until it worked. if your bootloader is truely unlocked you can probably go through all that again and get CM10 working, i did but im still working through kinks.....
GOOD LUCK feel free to ask any more Q's about this process if you run into any problems

Can't update the phone, can't do phone calls, nor texting, and several other issues

I'm pretty much ****ed with my phone.
First thing is, i can't update my phone, within the option menu, automatic update or manual one with dload folder doesnt work, The software upgrade mode never shows up, i have instead a very nice bootloop, i have to play with the VOL+ VOL- and POWER button untill i can finnaly boot.
Because of that, i'm stuck with Emui B130.
Wouldnt be that bad, if only my phone worked. But i can't take phone calls, nor send texts (or rarely can, almost only at my home, and if i'm lucky) When i travel i instantly doesnt have network anymore at all.
The phone detects my Sim Card, and i have some network, but i almost can't use it at all.
I tried to patch via fastboot the B100, B121 and B130 versions. All 3 have the update issue (S/W never shows up) and the network one PLUS the B121 version doesnt even allow me to insert my pin code.
So at this point i have a phone stucked in B130, which cant be updated, and i can't use it.
I tried to patch stock recovery, remove root, reinstall root, change the versions, i still can't access the S/W mode meaning i can't update the phone at all.
I just don't know what to do anymore, i've tried everything. I'm stucked.
Thanks in advance for eventual help.
Are you trying to update with root? You need to unroot first before you update. I haven't experimented with my phone yet but on my previous Huawei I always had to unroot before updating via dload/OTA
I tried both root and unroot, this doesn't change anything. :/
What happens when you press VOL+ VOL- and POWER on an honor 7?
Culdnt this be an Imei issue ?
Gosh This is so stupid, nothing works fine.
Now my phone just bootloops. I tried to flash with fastboot system.img and boot.img from B130, B100 and B121, and i can't make my phone to work, it just bootloops.
I thought i found the issue, i tried to flash the modem.img from my firmware, but couldnt manage to do it, and now i can't even make my phone to work. I'm so tired already of this phone. Everything was so simple with the Note 3.
Edit: And now i can't even try to flash some stock roms as i have a " Cannot load 'System.img' message.
I've done this more than 20 times and now for absolutely no reason, i have this.
I'm about to give up this phone. This is just madness. I just don't know what to do anymore.
I'd realy appreciate help of any kind.

Stuck in Firmware Update Mode

I recently purchased two new VS988 for an elderly friend of mine who loves his current G6 and was worried about LG getting out of the phone business. Trying to get the phones all set up for him I tried running the OTA updates which kept failing. After the OTA update process failed a dozen times or more I decided to try using the Windows VZW update utility. Finally, after a dozen tries the VZW utility finally managed to DL the FW to my computer but when it tried to install the FW it booted the phone into FW Update Mode and then failed to install. I have tried all of the listed methods of button presses to reboot the phone into any other mode but it always comes back to FW update mode. This morning I learned about the LGUP program and have given that a try and it stops at 4% with an error message that says "Error: 0x700A, ManipulateBootPT Failed"
I'm not sure what else to try. I'm using the cable that came in the box and a USB port on the back of my computer.
Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.
Maybe turn of recovery mode
How am I supposed to do that? No matter what buttons I try pressing when rebooting the phone it always comes back into FW Update Mode. I tried running the recovery process and the Verizon updater program and that had the same problem.

I don't recommend advice from that guy
The problem your having is stuck in download mode.
As long as you're not connected to a PC via USB and actively transferring a firmware file, you should be able to force shutdown by removing the battery and placing it back in (if possible) or pressing and holding Power for about 20 seconds. Then power on again normally.

Hey, did my information help?
Unfortunately nothing has worked I just ended up with two bricked phones. Thankfully they were just supposed to be back up phones for somebody that is unlikely to need them and can afford buying another replacement if something ever actually does happen to his primary. He has a lot of accessibility issues in a really prefers having the the buttons on the back of the phone so he doesn't keep turning it off accidentally.

If your android was stuck in recovery mode (as i know it), you could of just factory reset right?
forgive me it's been a couple of months since I bothered messing around with them but I believe it's not a generic recovery mode you know where you've got those four text options at the top you know and the Android with the exclamation point coming out of its chest but instead it's a firmware update mode. No amount of software tools or button key presses and we'll get the phones to do anything else. Both phones are dead right now cuz I just wanted to confirm what I was telling you whatever they managed to charge up later I will make sure what I'm saying is correct and I will let you know otherwise
If this is the screen you see, then i regret to inform you that your phone might have been bricked the entire time and you couldn't save it (unless you get new firmware for you device and install it). Trust me i had this experience before.
This is what I get. I try running the the Verizon LG update utility on the computer and after it reaches 11% or something like that it fails

Welp, my last geuss at this is that the previous owner got something like a virus to prevent the firmware update to continue. i've only worked with lg phones a few times, but those phones where very old (2008) and did not run android
Thanks for trying. I've given up and my friend didn't even get upset about it. Whatever went wrong happened when I tried to manually update them because the OTA kept failing. If he buys any more backups in the future I'll find him something a little more recent.
