Hey everyone,
I haven't posted here in a while but I've got a problem that suddenly surfaced on my Nexus 4.
I am running Android 5.0.1 and my ROM is Mako (beta.v0.8-20141206-OFFICIAL-mako).
Starting yesterday afternoon, my battery is suddenly draining extremely fast. Even with the screen off it drains about 30% every hour, which is ridiculous because just the day before it was only about 1-2% every hour... It also takes a very long time to charge. I charged it all night last night (about 7 hours) and it only gained 45% battery.
According to my power usage it says that "miscellaneous" is taking up 52% of the battery so that must be the cause, but that's not really helpful because it doesn't explain what miscellaneous task is the specific problem...
I haven't installed anything new, or updated any apps, or uninstalled anything. I haven't really changed anything at all for a while now.
Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi guys. I'm running on CheckROM revoHD4 and while sometimes I lose 10% of battery overnight today I dropped 30% in 3.5 hours doing absolutely nothing with screen off and not a huge ammount of apps running on the background. And its not the first time I notice inconsistent discharge. When I installed this ROM battery would last for 20h/3h screen/3h voicecalls. now sometimed it doesn't even last half of that. Any ideas?
You should check the battery info via Settings > About Phone > Battery Stats to see if you find a proccess that is huging the battery.
Also you could download Better Battery Stats from the Market and find which proccess are the ones doing the more Wake Locks and how much time they have done it. You could find for example an app thats been doing that for hours and that could be the cause of the battery drain.
Hello,
Originally I was running CleanROM 5.6 and felt like trying a new some. I decide to give SynergyROM r484 a chance, a while a few minor bugs bothered me, I really like the ROM. However, the battery is giving me some issues. Two nights ago after setting up r484 I let it charge overnight to 100%, when I got home the phone was at like 24% and eventually the battery went to 16%. It stayed at16% for a looooong time and then shut up. I tried charging the phone and after 4 hours it only charged to 20%. I shut it off and turned it on again after a 3 minute "break" and the battery was at 47% instead of previously at 20%. I drained the battery fully and then again charged it overnight fully to 100% while the phone was off. I was thinking maybe I fixed the issue, but right now I got home like 20 minutes ago and my battery life is decreasing at a "steady" pace but now it's stuck on 23% and has been for a little long time. I feel that my battery is probably around 15% in actuality. It seems upon installing SynergyROM r484, when the battery gets low... it doesn't display the correct percentage and I feel that's a huge issue. I'm also running leankernel 2.2 if that's an issue? I really would like to use this ROM, and while it's functional this battery issue is a serious problem and I'm thinking of flashing to CleanROM 6.0 for something more stable.
Does anyone else have this problem? I was hoping if anyone had any idea of a fix or something along those lines.
Thank you for reading,
Zealex.
Hi there!
Since I updated from CM 10.2 to CM 11, I've been having battery drain issues with my S3. It drains really quickly, and won't last me through the day most of the time. Today I unplugged the phone at 6AM, and by 2:30PM, the battery level was at 10%. It was after 2PM that it started losing like 1% of battery every minute or so (even when not in use!) so I switched to airplane mode in order for the battery to last until I got home. Also note that I only used the phone for a while today (1hr 23 mins - see battery stats) and the usage was light - 20 mins music playback, one Bluetooth transfer, 15 mins WiFi tethering, 5 mins Hill Climb Racing - these are the most 'demanding' things I did with the phone. What really shocked me was that around 2PM, my friend's Huawei phone was at 60%, while mine was at 20%, but he'd had 2.5 hrs of screen time while I only had 1 hour. Not to mention his phone is more powerful and has a better screen...
I have Location set to Battery saving mode and have Location Reporting & History as well as the hotword recognition thingy turned off.
I've been on CM 11 since January, and recently updated my phone from M2 snapshot to the M3 version. While updating, I wiped the cache, dalvik cache and wiped all user data, thinking it would fix the battery drain. It didn't. Back on the M2 snapshot I tried greenifying Facebook, Messenger, Google+ and WhatsApp, but that also didn't solve the problem.
Also, about a month ago, I bought a new (original) charger for the phone, because the old one wouldn't charge the S3 when in use and when not in use, it would charge really slowly (like only 70% overnight in a few cases). The new charger fixed those issues, but could the battery drain be connected with the charger issue? Could the battery be damaged or dead? Or do you think it's a CM/Android issue?
I'll probably try to buy a new original battery, but I wanted to discuss this as a new battery might not fix it.
Thanks!

BETTER BATTERY STATS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539568
I did perform a search and I know there are many threads about battery life but thought my problem was a bit different so I made a new thread. Thanks for the links, though. Even though I've already done many of the suggested tips from the guide, I switched to ART yesterday and installed Better Battery Stats.
Now, 13.5 hours since unplugged, I have 37 % of battery left with 2 hours of screen on time. I guess enabling ART might have helped a bit...
Just a question, what am I supposed to look for in Better Battery Stats? I mean, is it Kernel Wakelocks or Partial Wakelocks that drain the battery more?
Oh and btw, the second link took me to OnePowerGuard Pro not Better Battery Stats. Just saying.
Hi everybody!
I've had my AT&T HTC One (M7? not the new one) for several months now and it's great. All of a sudden it's running really hot and chewing up battery. On the 1A wall charge it's fine but when charging from my computer it actually loses battery not stays charged or charging. This morning (about 9:30AM) it was at 100%. Now, just over two hours later, it's at 86%.
I uninstalled/disabled some extra apps. But it's still happening.
Usage according to the battery manager is:
Android System 56%
Google Play services 13%
Nova Launcher 7%
Mediaserver 7%
Android OS 6%
Any suggestions appreciated. My phone is not rooted or anything I am simply posting here because some of you are the smartest and most competent smartphone experts I know of, and have come up with some fantastic software and workarounds.

Turn off the auto light sense and set it for manual or use a third party app. The sensor polling and adjusting all the time eats the battery.
Hi, if you are referring to auto brightness, I disabled that, and it's not really helping. It's not getting quite as hot but battery is draining awfully fast and it is still warmer than usual.

Have you disabled everything you don't use?
I did a complete charge last night before I hit the sack. Battery was around 96%, today morning 80%!
I flashed stock ROM using TWRP, on first charge cycle battery is fine - just 1% overnight drain with 8 hrs SOT. On second charge cycle this issue hits me everytime.
All my radios are usually off (WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth, Data).
Android system sucks my battery during sleep and it was at 90% consumption when I woke up (See screen shot #1).
My phone seems to be in deep sleep a good portion of that time (See WLD statistics #1).
Also attached screen shots from WLD for Summary, Kernal / Partial wakelocks & Alarms.
Device is rooted.
Going crazy trying to find out what's happening.
I have tried 3 different ROM's which have great battery life as reported by other users here for my mobile (Mate 8). But I always end up with the same battery drain issue on second charge cycle after flashing a ROM.
.
Bump! Anyone?
Any experts that could help out here?
I have searched a lot but no solid solution.
