I have a ZTE Blade S6 running MiFavor custom UI on top of Android 5.0.2.
I use my phone on my work were i need to send at least 40messages to 40contacts in one go. The only problem is this pop up window reminding me the the Messaging app is sending large number of SMS and asking if I want to allow it. Its really quite annoying and inconvenient.
I have already tried using third party apps, adding lines to Serting.db using sqlite editor. But none of them works.
I really like this phone but if I can't find any solution to this problem, I might give up this phone and look for a better one.
Hopefully someone in here can help me.

I know the title sounds a tad confusing, but that's because what I want to do is kind of confusing.
I want to send a text to a phone number, but have my phone not actually send the text at all, meaning that there would be no chance they would ever receive it, but it would make it look as if I texted them (I know I could edit my text logs with an app or some sort of SMS restore app, but I want to see if there is any way to do this).
All help is much appreciated

hmmm... i see what you mean.... you need a messaging app that has the capability of allowing you to send "duds." ive noticed that if you have multiple messaging apps, sending one with one app shows in the others, so i assume they all use the same database for storing your sent/received messages. so actually, what you need is one that toggles a block for the messages, telling your phone you successfully sent the message while keeping it from leaving the phone. the best way for it to be integrated would be a setup where you hold the search button to toggle the block. this would let you send a message in front of someone, have it injected into your logs, and it not really be sent at all. i dont know of any app like this, but if you are a developer yourself (im not. im on this site because its helpful and i like it.) or if you know one who can do it, it seems like it wouldnt be difficult to make, although root would be a likely necessity.

i think i found one. if youre willing to shell out the 100 pennies for it, maybe this is what youre looking for.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rayy.android.fake&hl=en
try it within the first 15 mins of getting it, and if youre displeased, go back to the market page and hit refund.

Exactly what I am looking for, is a way to send "dud" messages. Anything or any way to do so would be absolutely beautiful (I only wish I was still a developer. I got to C# and stopped years ago, then never recovered back to my potential).
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you sir

So... I'm a serial SMS writer, and I often write long, veeeery loooong SMSs. Never had problems with that, but now I find out Android automatically converts an SMS into an MMS when I reach 160*3 characters. Is there any way to avoid this without using an app like Handcent? Any system file I can edit? Any hidden option I'm too blind to see?
I've searched the forum, but I found no answer. Sorry if I missed it.
Same situation for me so i'm pretty interested in a solution.

Look, I found this free app, BigSMS, which you can use to write long messages. Since i really HATE Handcent (I find it INDEcent! ) I decided to download and try BigSMS. For simple, it's ugly. But it works. I'll keep using my stock app, but, when the moment arrives for me to send a 1000000 pages sms I'll just switch for a moment to BigSMS to write it.
Anyway, it's really annoying that we can't change this feature.
Let me preface this post by saying that I've been dealing with and looking for a solution for this for about a year. Basically, ever since I moved from iOS to Android, and I've not found a suitable solution to it yet. I've searched this forum diligently, googled for it and really just found a bunch of nonsense posts and unanswered questions or suggestion to install handcent or sms go pro. I'll say up front that I don't really want to do that. I like to style and smoothness of the stock messaging app.
Now, to the issue. What I constantly have issues with, across multiple roms and Android versions, is the ability to handle group mms, specifically from group mms where iOS initiates the group mms (if that has anything to do with it or not, that's the observation) or an iOS person is in the reply. Basically what happens is either the group mms ends up having download issues, where the initial mms or replied mms from a user in the group doesn't download and gets stuck downloading and never completes. I've had these issues with gingerbread, ics and now jb as well as across cyanogenmod, aokp, aosp and now aocp roms. I've tried flashing several modems as well as updating my apn settings several times, according to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1576199 The thing is, once I update my apn settings to that, I can send and receive mms message, picture and video just fine. It's only ever group mms that causes the issues.
None of them seem to work well with group mms, and I'm beginning to think this is just an android thing. Now I don't want to get into an iOS/Android thing here, but basically what I'm wanting is group mms capability to just work on Android. I don't want to have to deal with the downloading messages, messages not coming through, or having to sit there with the mms open for 5 minutes while it downloads and finally gets around to displaying it.
Are there just known issues with android and group mms? Is group mms just a thing that apple and at&t have some trickery with? (me not knowing anything about group mms other than it just works in iphones) I just want some kind of answer like, "no, it doesn't work well on Android phones and others are having the same issue." Or perhaps, "no, you're just crazy and doing something wrong because group mms works flawlessly on my sgs2." Either way would give me a sold answer!
Lastly, I will add that I have used go pro sms and it did seem to handle group mms much better. However, I prefer the look at feel of the stock app much better, hence why I prefaced this thread with that comment about not wanting to switch. I do realize that if there is a limitation of the stock app, I might be stuck, but to me go pro just feels clunky and cluttered. Thanks in advance for all the suggestions.
I feel the same way about go sms pro, it's clunky. What I've done for now is use a theme that's as close to stock holo as possible. Someday I'll get around to creating a theme that mimics the stock app. The popup notifications are pretty ugly to me in go sms pro, so I use "sms popup" for notifications - it uses the holo theme and is nice and slick.
Don't forget to set mms to auto-retrieve in the stock app. It does hang for sometimes, and sometimes may not download too. Also, the notification doesn't actually popup for mms messages, but it's there in the popup queue the next time I get a normal sms.
Kind of a convoluted setup and i wish it was just built in, but for its all we've got to deal with.

Thanks for the info. I might consider trying it again and seeing if there is a theme out that that looks nice, but from what I remember, all of the convoluted settings was another thing that put me off. I didn't like having to dig through settings to find a fix for something. Honestly, I'd just like the stock app to work, and I wasn't for sure if people were having my same experience or not, or if I was possibly doing something wrong. I'd appreciate some more opinions if possible.
I thought I'd post back here with a few results. I recently reinstalled Go Pro and tried it again. I still find the UI to be somewhat clunky but have used a theme that minimal and it's bearable. I have, however, had NO with mms messages since switching to it. It really has been pretty flawless. Furthermore, I upgraded to the newest version of AOKP which reset my APN settings. On the stock app, I'd always have to go back in and reset them to the ATT PHONE and ATT MMS settings per the thread I referenced earlier. I wouldn't be able to do anything with mms without settings that. Well, I didn't do that this time using Go Pro and I've had no issues with any mms messages. This just kind of confirms to me this has something to do with the stock messaging app, which is disappointing. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Latest Android 4.2 supports this btw.

Thanks! I look forward to trying this out.
Those features been disabled on Verizon cause theyre dicks and like to force you to use proprietary software. Its a different version of the messaging app without spam filtering or the ability to send scheduled messages. Scheduling was one of my absolute favorite features on my s3 I used it every day since i have a few buddies on overnight shifts that i cant text during the day.
I need help trying to figure out why the app from the other variants wont work on a VZW S5.
I tried replacing the apk and odex and fixing permissions with the appropriate files from the international variant. Files were from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2796268
Everything worked, including scheduling and spam senders but it blocked MMS from going through saying "invalid destination address"
tried again with the apk and odex from ATT variant, same result.
I wouldnt be asking on the general forum but our Verizon forum has NO DEVS whatsoever that will try to help solve problems like this, which is such a change from the SPRINT forums where 50 people would jump all over it and help get it done in under an hour lol.
I would like to know this too! I have an S4 with Verizon and would really like to block texts from certain ppl without having to do the whole 90-day block thing through Verizon! :fingers-crossed:
anyone found a solution to this yet?

If you are rooted then go to above post and follow the guide to enable priority sender in messaging app.
Download chomp SMS from play store... You'll get all the features you will ever need. Plus it's very easy and has great customizing options

Hi
I'm a few days away from my OGWhatsapp app expiring and am desperate to find an alternative as I travel constantly between countries and having two active whatsapp accounts on my phone is an invaluable part of my life.
I've stumbled across some alternatives from this site:
http://faresandroid.blogspot.com.es/2015/01/4.html
Namely, i'm looking at ENWhatsapp and SAWhatsapp. I'm wondering whether these apks are ok as I fear installing any sort of malware or SMS trojan on my Samsung S4 Mini Duos i9192.
Many thanks
I use this one and think it is perfect, no isues in months. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339647
Thanks. Does it notify you of received messages from both accounts instantly or do you need to switch between accounts to pick up the messages?
Use this xxwhatsapp
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bwqhldcwrdx350w/xxWhatsApp1.15-1.apk?dl=0
It's base on Ogwhatsapp mode last version. But it's still working. It's modified in order to not to be detected by the expiration of the 472 whatsapp server base.
Thanks MuD-GMZ. That seems to work well. Only thing is that I have to switch between the two accounts manually to see if i've received messages. A little bit annoying.
ppsa, is xxWhatsapp safe? I get the same pre-installation access warnings as SAWhatsapp and ENWhatsapp. What particularly worries me is the access the app has to sending and receiving SMS's (see attached screenshot). Not sure this if this normal though considering that I guess the app needs a whatsapp verification code via sms to activate it.
What do you think?
Many thanks!

Exactly. That's why I want to know if any of the other unofficial whatsapps are safe so that i can have two whatsapps active at the same time
In the end I tried ENWhatsapp + other variants and none of them seem to work. I get an error during the installation process that oddly states that '"the app expired on May 18th 2060"!!
I am, though, using a Playstore app called Disa Beta:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.disa&hl=en
It has a strange UI but it allows me to do exactly what I was looking for: have 2 whatsapp accounts simultaneously active on my dual sim phone.
I've used it, but it's not as friendly to use
It works again? Thanks.
