Any roms for Emerson em756 7” tablet? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know it's a crappy tablet. We bought some for the kids for Christmas since they were cheap. I know that no ROM will make up for its lack of hardware but this stock is sucks. Hitting certain keys crashes the play store and other issues too.
Anyways, was curious about 2 things:
1. Is there any room that I can load onto this 7" em756?
2. Is there any way to use internal memory or the SD memory as additional ram? Obviously it wouldn't be as fast or efficient as real ram but after the is anything is better than only 200 megs to run apps on.
Just curious. Thanks.

I need a rom for this too

Me too
I am too. I found an old Emerson Tablet and would like for it to run for more than 15 seconds before crashing

just wanted to bump this thread a buddie of mine gave me one of these tablets it is however stuck in bootloop so any kind of firmware or bootloader or rom update would b great....... ultimately i would like to get this tab to where when it boots it opens a linux type shell as an os (prehaps something like the app termux) i just want the shell im new and still learning linux..... and from my understanding linux mobil shellsare a little sonewhat diffrent then a linux install

[Q] Custom ROM for Superpad II model: 'SAWEE10' ?

I bought this tablet:
Link: http://www.aliexpress.com/product-g...220-Super-Pad-HD-10-2-Tablet-wholesalers.html
And found out that it is a knockoff of the original ibex FlyTouch 3. This tablet model number is : SAWEE10. Instead of Disco10 or disco. I was wondering if there is any chance of running a custom ROM on it.?
The original flytouch comes with an 8000mAh battery while this comes with a 5600mAh battery.
If there is no chance of a custom ROM, can I even root this device and make a ROM backup so that I can try removing useless apk's? I think there might be an internal microSD card that contains the ROM, so I am planning on making a copy of it and then messing around with it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
Hey did you ever find out what you can do with that knockoff you have? I have the same one and can't find anything on the net. Everyone in the forums tell me to return the tablet. That's not a challenge to me
I received it and found out that the Model number is : SAWEE10. It auto shuts off every 30 minutes or so. Playing back 720p mkv's are no problem, but gaming lags and games like raging thunder misread the accelerometer data, so it cannot be used. But Doodle Jump works fine
But no custom ROM for this model???
Sadly, none yet. But the stock ROM is not that bad as it is. I will open mine up soon and make a backup of the internal MicroSD card. Then I am going to remove all the useless apps and junk that comes preloaded.
What app are you using for "system info" I see from the site you got your tablet from, it has a ARM11 cpu. The site I got mine says the same, but when I run this info app I got, it says I have a ARMv6 in mine. Maybe thats why its so damn slow. It also says 791Mips
ARM11 CPU's are based on the ARMv6 architecture. Just like how the Galaxy S2 is an ARM Cortex A9 based on the ARMv7 architecture.
The app I am using is called 'Android System Info' : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.electricsheep.asi&hl=en
If you refer here: http://cnmaxever.com/blog/armv6-arm11-chips-telechips-tcc8902-infotmic-imapx200-zenithink-zt-180/
You will find that 1MIPS is 1.2MHz. Mine is the Infotmix IMAPX200 and says 839MIPS. So it is running at 1GHz.
Mind sharing the link you bought yours from?
I know it might be a little slow, but the multimedia performance is better than my old laptop with a 1.4GHz pentium 4 with 2GB of RAM.
Playing 1080p mp4 music videos and 720p mkv's through HDMI out is no problem at all. And games like Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds and Cut the Rope run quite well.
If you want to improve your touchscreen responsiveness, use this: https://market.android.com/details?id=br.shop4apps.touchscreenbooster.com&hl=en
Thanks for the links. That touchscreen booster made a big difference.
Here's the link where I got mine from. I can't remember the vendor, but there are
several hundred. I also just ordered some 7" models.
SORRY WON'T LET ME POST THE LINK I GOT THIS MESSAGE
"To prevent spam to the forums, ALL new users are not permitted to post outside links in their messages. After approximately eight posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thanks for understanding!"
It came from dhgate dot com. just do a search for 10.2 1ghz 512mb tablets and you will get several hundred vendors.
If I can figure out the vendor I will re-post it to you. But I would not buy from
again, had a hard time with the seller on some issues. But there are plenty of
others to choose from.
I also ordered and received the original 10.2" Ibex tablet, but not able to play with it yet since it came to me with a cracked screen. Waiting for the screen replacement.
Yeah, new members cannot post links. You need 8 posts to post links.
I like the tablet a lot actually. I got mine at a crazy cheap price, so I don't really care. The Ibex one costs a bomb(almost twice of what I paid for mine). At that price I would rather save a bit more and buy myself the Galaxy Tab 10...
And like I said, the stock ROM is not that bad. It can be improved with other apps and task killers.
So you are giving up on your first tablet and moving onto the Ibex one?
No I still like the knock off. And as you said the Stock ROM is not bad at all. If I can't find the app on its favor of Market, I just download the app as a apk file and then install it. Most of the time they work. I did open mine up and there isn't a sd memory card in it. I just got the new touch screen for the Ibex and replaced that over the weekend and flashed it with the Tim6a. Works fine. The Ibex did have a removable sd card inside. Also just got 2 7" tablets from the same place as the knock off. They are 1ghz processor 1gig memory and 8gig drive space. I really love the 7" ones. Very fast, really touch sensitive screens and much faster over all. Now I'm looking to see what trouble I can do with them as well
Wow, the 7'' ones have 1GB of RAM? That is huge!!.
I opened up mine too, and found the MicroSD card in it. Had to delete a bootnimation that was preventing it from coming on, so I used a virtual machine booting puppy linux to access the EXT3 partitions.
And the 7'' ones will always be smoother, because the resolution is so much lower than the 10'' ones.
Yeah I think I like the 7" ones much better for now. I even just ordered another one from this place. Its 1.5ghz and has ICS 4.0 Beta on it. So I wana play with that now too

Cap. Screen for only $119. Don't know what Im gona do with all these tablets LOL
Haha, lucky you. I am sticking with my 10'' because it is fantastic for watching movies right off a thumbdrive. And it plays it equally well when outputting 1080p to my TV.

A New Day, A New Poll: What Nook Tablet Model do you Own? And more!

So my results from my "What rom are you running on your Nook Tablet" poll turned out pretty good. The results show some interesting distributions. They also got me thinking further. And because I'm a fan of statistics, I decided to run another poll.
This poll is a bit more general but I think could also get some interesting results. So if you haven't already, look to the top of this post and make your vote count!
Some things to note:
Stock = you have not rooted your Nook and you do not have a custom rom on the sd card. If you have a rom booting from sd card, select dual boot.
Stock, root access = you have rooted your nook but are still on the stock B&N operating system. Again, you do not have a rom booting from sd card.
Custom rom = you have a custom rom on the internal memory (you overwrote the stock B&N operating system). Again, you do not have a rom booting from sd card.
Dual boot = any instance of being able to boot more than one OS. This could mean you have an unmodified stock B&N OS on the internal memory and cm7 on sd card, or a custom rom on internal and a custom rom on sd card. Those who have managed to set up triple boot (or more, as its possible in theory) should also select this option.
Also, if you have not voted in my other poll or want to see the results, go here.
My story
It is worth noting that I originally had the 8GB version and because I had to return it I immediately turned the new replacement back in and spent the extra $$ to get the 16GB version. I had done my research, felt the difference wasn't worth the extra $$ initially, but later changed my thoughts seeing what was coming down the pike in the Development world. I believe my eventual move to ICS will be enhanced by opting for the faster version. At that point I will dual boot CM9 rather than CM7 (which I seldom use anymore) until I decide to fully immerse myself in the ICS world. And everything I have gathered here makes me more comfortable should I decide to revert to my current setup.
8gb nook, just got it in sale. Dual boot in case I ever need the BN apps/features, but don't think I ever will. SD boot because I can always take the entire OS and data to another nook should mine die. Also, easy and fast to image.
Ics isn't anything amazing for me - it's the apps that provide the features I want in a Web surfing, multimedia tablet. Everything runs on cm7, thus, no real need for ics here at all.
On cm7, baby runs fast and smooth you're the most part. Not ipad smooth, but generally well enough not to get in my way.
Now, if there was only a Belle tablet...
I want only it run fast, somothly and stable
I know we have more than 3 8GB Nook Tablet owners out there.
Get to voting!
I was running cm7 internally in my 16gb until recently when the new cm9 update came out. I tried that out and haven't looked back since. I can live without YouTube and Netflix for now, ics is just too damn cool.

Bumping this.
It has about a third of the votes that my other poll has. Please vote guys!
Just bought a 16gb nook tablet on Thursday. Its stock for now. At least until I get my memory card in the mail.
I have the 16g Nook.

8gb bought in late February totally stock. IMO its a giant POS! The Wi-Fi constantly drops and I can find no reason as to why or any solution to correct it. It worked perfectly for almost 2 months then the connection started acting up. Nothing has been changed on my network at home and all of my other devices (6 total) connect perfectly. The NOOK refuses to obtain a DHCP connection without constant router reboots (which is hard because my Wife works from home and gets miffed if she has to log off during work hours).
The NOOK (when its working) is nice but what good is it if won't stay connected. If anybody knows how to solve the Wi-Fi issue please let me know.

I got a 16GB NT with CM7. Tried CM9 but my battery wont last so much.
Lets see... NT is light (compared to kindle fire, or samsung galaxy tab, not to mention the ipad which is a brick), is fast, nice screen, and micro sd slot. I think its a great tablet for surfing the web or watch videos on the couch or the bed.
I barely use my laptop for web surfing only.

[Q] What to do next with a 3 yr old NT?

Rooted mine as soon as I got it and I'm willing to experiment with it due to its age. It also developed some dead spots for which I've never seen an actual fix, so regardless I have to turn it upside down (U button up) to use navigation on screen "buttons."
Any recommendations on trying a new ROM (that is worth the effort) or other mods that will make this increasingly slow and stuttering devide worth toting around? I am on:
11-20141112 - SNAPSHOT- M12-acclaim
Kernel 3.0.72
Android 4.4.4
I was recently given an 8Gb Nook Tablet, and I finally got that very same Rom you are using onto mine. So far I have had very poor luck with the tablet. I have tried playing Elune Saga, Starwars Commander, and WWE Supercard. The first two will not load all the way into the game before crashing. Supercard will run really slow and crash within a few minutes. I understand these games are new and this tablet is old. Is this tablet simply not capable of playing these games?

sorry i cant post link cuz im new here
Thanks for helping !
I am not familiar with that model, however am thinking that it could be a couple of things. Unfortunately some are not going to be feasible without skill & $ for part's. Who knows. You might be able to ?
1st given that your RAM is only 2GB, your not going to be able to do much with today's online game's unless they are the old lacking motion types.
From experience, I am going to guess that your 2GB once the device is up & running it's basic necessities is more like 1-1.3GB. The HD alone may have started @ 16GB but the OS alone might need 2GB BEFORE you have even entered any login info.
That unfortunately limit's your options. Obviously! Dumbing down to Solitaire & such may be possible but not realistic. Could look at the casing for a chance of being able to open it (voids any warranty if do!) so can swap out the RAM for more. IF THAT CAN BE DONE EVEN!! Take care doing some research on the capacity of it. Having an SD slot doesn't mean it will be able to use a 250mb SD card.
Safer yet could go more expensive, is shop around the electronic repairs options in your area. Although licensed or not, warranty is null. Yet safer than not being sure of opening it let alone using right part's.
Lastly if this is an Android, get yourself the Google apps of Game Optimization & Game Launcher. Between the two of them, they can give you some more control over features as s gamer you won't be able to get to. The Launcher on my phone is set to run ALL game's as balanced between graphics & battery use. The Optimization gives a few toggles to silence incoming, lock the brightness... They are not much but offer some control.

Worth rooting to make this old Tab 10.1 work better?

I know this is an OLD tablet, but I'm wanting to rehabilitate it for occasional use. Nothing fancy, just browsing mostly. Going to keep in my motorcycle trailer for camping, etc. Easier than dragging a laptop around, and the bigger screen would be great compared to my smart phone. I've been playing with it and it's quite slow and not many apps will run on Android 5.1 anymore. I've dumped the cache through recovery and it has several GB of memory free.
So thinking about rooting it (have done several roots in the past) but wondering if it's worthwhile? If I root it, what is the newest Android OS I can load? If I'm still stuck on a very old OS, it's probably not worth the hassle.
I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.
