With me:
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) X2 Dual-Core QL-60 (2 CPUs), ~1.9GHz
Memory: 2048MB RAM
Card: ATI Radeon 3200
And booting always hangs at: "Freeing SMP alternatives memory ..."
I tried all versions, maybe my hardware not compatible with the kernel.

I had the same issue, but in reverse. Wifi worked, but bt does not. Are your wifi and bt on the same card? Possibly a ralink?

Hi
I've managed to semi-boot 32bit on my old pc (the 64bit gives me kernel panic) but because of 'init: untracked pid xxxx killed by signal 9' and 'init: untracked pid xxxx exitedwith status 0' I cannot boot it into full working OS.

Any non-torrent downloads there?

I have tried to boot 64bit a number of times on my Fujitsu laptop. Fails every time. I'd love to give this a go. Any thoughts?
It's an Intel T5850 with 3 gb Ram. The only issue I can see is I'm trying to load via USB stick on a USB 2.0 port. This laptop does not have usb 3.0.

No, they´re separated cards, the wireless card is a Atheros.
I found a way to fix the wifi but i need to be root and there´s nothing to root it for the moment.
Other problem i found is the brightness, i cant change it with the fn fuction, but i can live without it jaja .

I was also having problems booting Remix OS 64bit. Kept getting Cannot detect the usb writing speed, few times got stuck on the checking data partition, nothing was working. I just tried the new 32bit version and it booted right up and its fast. matter fact I'm writing this on Remix OS. I;m loving it, it's quite cool to have.
Just a few questions.
1. I'm thinking about dual booting this with windows 10. should i just leave it on the USB Drive or make another partition and intstall it that way?
2. Can I intall the play store.
My PC specs
HP 2000
4gb ram
500gb HDD
Im using an 16gb usb 3.0 drive. in and usb 2.0 port. my laptop does not have an usb 3.0 port.
thanks in advance

Android on tablet Trekstor Surftab Wintron 7.0

Hi everyone,
i have a Trekstor Surftab Wintron 7.0 which mounts an Intel Atom Z3735G and 1GB ram and runs Windows 10 Home 32bit. it works quite good for just 50€ that i spent to buy it, but i think that it can do more, specially because apps from the Microsoft Store are not so much, and using the tablet without the "tablet mode" is quite difficult because the screen is too small and buttons hard to press.
Standing at the specs I can see it has the same hardware of the Trekstor SurfTab xintron i 7.0, but it comes with Android on it.
What i want to do is to get the image of the internal flash of a Xintron and write it in my Wintron.
Thanks to xblax i have the following partitions img files in different files:
-boot
-bootloader
-fastboot
-oem
-recovery
-system
After many attemps i was able to boot the Ubuntu Live USB and using the DISK application, I formatted the disk according to the partition table always from xblax and i flashed the partitions IMG files.
Anyway now I am stuck because because the bootloadet.img seems to have a 64bit bootloader in it.
The Intel Atom Z3735G processor is 64bit, but I am pretty sure the UEFI is locked to boot only 32 bit systems.
any hint please?
Can anybody help me? I'm not a Linux expert, so I just want to know how to write an IMG partition taken from a device on another device (that is basically the same) and boot it.
I am pretty sure it could boot so i think i just need some basic info

i couldn't find it in Italy it seems to be available only in Germany, and my final objective is to have a dual boot Win10/Android
Have you tried Refind Boot manager?
Not yet, i'll give it a try and let you know
So, i tried the flashdrive IMG but in the boot menu I don't see any choice.
But after a few tries I found that if I rename the bootx64.efi file in bootia32.efi refind finds something

Yep!! I'm waiting for it!
Let's see if it will work!
Finally the Beta came, it looks great but... I am experiencing some hardware issues.
First of all the touchscreen. It works, but seems that it is not calibrated properly, making it impossible to use without a mouse. Than also the audio, Bluetooth, battery monitor and many other things are not working at all
I read that there should be the possibility to calibrate the touchscreen but I didn't find any solution...
Suggestions?
Hello Niddu,
I am also intersted in running android on the wintron 7.
Did yout get success in running the Xintron images on the Wintron, or have you got some other Solution?
Thanks and greetings from Germany.
Hi, unfortunately i had no clue because of my lack of knowledge in Linux.
Anyway I suggest you to spend some time on trying to make RemixOS Beta 32bit working.
I actually don't know how to compile a kernel, but if you can do it you can try to integrate the missing drivers.
With the official release the touch screen is working but is not calibrated properly and that's the main problem because without it you need to connect an external mouse/keyboard without the possibilty to keep the tablet in charge.
Anyway sound, bluetooth, battery management and power and volume keys are not working.
If somebody is able to make it work I'll be glad to help them!!
Now i had Success in running Android x86 4.4 on it.
The Touchscreen is working very well, but the three soft buttons for back home and recent are not working?
Bluetooth, adjust screen lightning and sound are not working
Great! Can you link the release are you using? If someone could explain how to add drivers to an existing android image that could be a good starting point!
I just tested the version that I guess you are using but I have the same result on the touch I had using remix OS.
I'll try to explain you better with images.
Keeping the tablet in portrait mode lets analyse first of all the Y axis.
Clicking on the upper part of the screen it results aligned on the 0 of the y axis.
But if I click in the lower part it not calibrated
Analysing the X, the left side of the screen is not really aligned
While on the right it is almost OK.
Last one is the "windows" key. When I press it, a touch is simulated on the screen in an area that is not covered by the touchscreen
Is there anyone able to guide me in the calibration of the screen?
Hello Niddu,
i used android-x86-4.4-r5 : ....android-x86.org/releases/releasenote-4-4-r5...
It themes that there are different Versions of the Tablet out there.
I have the ST70416-6 / Windows 10 Version.
When i start the Android Live image, the Calibration screen appeares automatically and after Calibration it workes like i saied befor.
I also have a ST70416-6 Win 10, but when i launch the live Image of the same version of your it does not ask me for touch calibration. Can you post me a picture of how this calibration is?
android on wintron 7.0
Hello guys, I also have a ST70416-6, trying to find a way to install android on it. Did u get lucky?
Thanks,
G.
Trekstor Wintron 7 touchscreen driver
Hello everybody,
I had success building a touchscreen driver for the ST70416-6 version. The driver that is used in Android x86 is the gsl-firmware: github.com/onitake/gsl-firmware
I used the original driver from Trekstor (SileadTouch.fw) to build a Linux driver using the firmware tool:
./unscramble SileadTouch.fw firmware.fw
./fwtool -c firmware.fw -m 1680 -w 900 -h 600 -t 5 -f track silead_ts.fw.
After that I pasted the silead_ts.fw in system/lib/firmware in Android x86 that i have installed on my sdcard. Now the Touchscreen works quite good.
The Android x86 version I used is the latest android-x86_64-6.0-rc1.iso.
Unfortunately sound, battery, camera and bluetooth are still not working. The sound chip seems to be a ALC5642 which is still not supported by Linux.
The gyrosensor is working but the axis are inverted so that it is unusable. Has anyone an idea how to swap the axis of the gyro.
Link to firmware: dropbox.com/s/bce8bc6zu3gc0g4/silead_ts.fw?dl=0
Unfortunately I´m not allowed to post a link because I´m a new member , so you have to paste a http www before the two links.
Hello, im back
Sry for the long time, i got my second son and many, many positive trouble with family and so on
Sry nidu for not sharing that screenshots.
I tried Merlins guide to build an own driver and it is working.... thank you very much
I tried it with Android x86 6.0 rc and maybe with a very slow usb drive touch is working but all react very slow, i will try it with android 4.4 and other usb drive tomorrow.

Remix OS 2.0 for PC - Complete Review with ScreenShots

INTRODUCTION
This thread is made for the purpose of giving review for Remix OS 2.0 for PC for the following hardware:
Acer Aspire E15
Specs:
1) Intel Core i3 [ 1.9 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache ]
2) Intel HD Graphics 4400 with 1792 MB DVM.
3) 4 GB DDR3 RAM
I use it for mostly my writing or some presentation. So, I thought why not try it on it.
PS: Remix OS does not run on any Nvidia or AMD cards. Trust Me, do not even bother trying it, its useless.
PERFORMANCE
The OS is snappy and does not lag no matter what app or game you run, except "Terminal Emulator". Terminal emulator makes the window lag only, which is weird as all other apps continue to function properly. Maybe, its the app's problem itself.
HARDWARE SUPPORT
All my hardware runs without problem.
Here are all the things that work:
1) Wifi
2) Bluetooth
3) Sound
4) Mouse
5) PS3 Controller (Using the "Sixaxis Enabler" app from the playstore)
6) Touchpad, even with multitouch support. Amazing. :victory:
APPS AND GAMES SUPPORT
All apps and games work, except screen recorder apps. When I try to record screen, it crashes.
Everything else works.
ANTUTU BENCHMARK
MOTHER OF GOD! It returned a number that made my head spin. To give a reference, it is 10 times more powerful than Galaxy Note 5. But, then again considering its running on a pc, that number was expected.
SHUTDOWN/RESTART
Works without a problem. Pressed the power button, the power menu came and I shut it down. No problem whatsoever.

It ran modern combat 5 and asphalt 8 at highest settings as if it was angry birds. Ran smoother than ......strawberry cupcake. I guess. I mean, strawberry cupcake is very smooooooth. So, that explains a lot. You want some screenshots?
On the other hand, if you want keyboard controls, you have to download "Tincore Mapper". Its available from the playstore. I have been using it quite a lot lately.
Nope. Cant access the hard drive, because I formatted by remix os partition ext4, hence windows does not recognize it.

picture related, sorry for bad potato quality, using twitter camera instead of the default camera.
after updating the OTA to the newest build, it seems that after opening the app that has a "forced full screen". it might crashes and reboot it and now, the taskbar has disappear.
I've been recreating the problem twice, along with reinstalling Remix OS. I can confirm the main problem is in fact due to the full screen apps (some are forced) will crashed and reboot. the taskbar won't appear.
as for work-a-rounds, honestly, no idea. I already reported the bug to Remix Staff already, I feel confident that it going to be fixed quickly.

I tried that option, it didn't work for me. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.
EDIT: I GOT It WORKING.
Apparently, I suppose to drop it in the right location, none of the people here didn't specify which line should I put. I'd had to dig in the older build file in order to find the right location.

I'm Having the same issue... once or twice the taskbar appeared correctly, but for the most times, is completly absent, and with that problem remix OS is useless.
I'm kinda new to this (Remix OS, rooting android, etc), but remix OS is a excellent option for those old notebooks and netbooks that suffer with Windows 8 and up, so i dont want to give up that easy.
I have a HP Mini with this hardware:
CPU: AMD A4-1200 APU with Radeon Graphics 1.00 Ghz
RAM 2.0 GB
Graphics: AMD A4-1200 APU with Radeon Graphics 1.00 Ghz
HDD: Harddrive with dual boot with windows 8.
Any clue of how to solve this? have you heard if there going to be an update that fix this anytime soon?
thanks in advance!

EDIT: I GOT It WORKING.
Apparently, I suppose to drop it in the right location, none of the people here didn't specify which line should I put. I'd had to dig in the older build file in order to find the right location.

Remix OS on desktop computer from USB: black screen after selecting resident/guest

The last output is:
intel powerclamp does not run on family 15 model 4
intel_rapl: driver does not support CPU family 15 model 4
I have a screenshot, but links are not allowed for n00bs.
And then, black screen, with the machine still running (fans spinning and screen does display black screen but does not go to "no input" mode).
I also have a similar problem. How are you getting that last output? Mine asks guest/ resident then what language... then I get black screen.

I did not do anything to get the last output, it appears underneath the "guest/resident" selection before it goes to black.
I can share a picture of it whenever i have made 10 comments because of security reasons of this forum.
Lol. What about posting it on Photobucket and giving a link on here?

I have the same problem ( black screen ) after booting new Remix 3.0.101 ... ( Samsung laptop AMD / ufi )... Before last update I have not this problem ...This build needed much work yet..Many errors
Many desktops will have this issue due to video drivers not being included with Remix. Even with other Linux OS's, this will happen with proprietary video drivers. On Linux you have to use "nomodeset" to make the OS bootable so that you can install graphic drivers. "Nomodestet" can be used with Remix, but you won't be able to install drivers, and people have reported it's painfully slow.
At this time, the only way to dependably run Remix on a desktop is by either USB, or in a virtual machine. Remix runs just fine in a virtual machine.
Hi all, using a Samsung ativ pc pro xe700t1c-a04uk
dual boot: Windows 10 pro / android remix os 3.0
screen 11.6 full hd 1080p
cpu intel core i5-3317u quad core
ram 4gb
gpu intel hd 4000 (128mb dedicated)
hdd 256gb msata ssd
I run remix os 3.0 from a 64GB 544/MBs msata drive in a usb 3.0 enclosure.
Very fast system. Everything working including apps and games and all hardware (touchpen/touchscreen/gyro/accele/light/nfc/otg/gamepad/cam/mic/sound/gfx/etc).
Problem: Its not a major problem but the screen dimming or brightness control dosent work and thats the only problem.
The samsung ative pc pro xe700t1c is by far the most superior convertible laptop/tablet in the world!
Request to developers:
Can you please implement the sim function for internet and calling. Also can you please implement a gamepad configuration menu just like the keyboard config menu?
Thank you very much for all the good stuff remix team.

hi all i thought this turorial might help you guys....
This is a working usb install media creator method for os remix installation and legacy bios circumventing all known errors made for noobs including USING full drive internal storage space etc.
You will be able to use this usb stick for future creation of other usb install media
you will have the choice to also install to hard drive
you will need 2 x usb drives and require drive write speed to be higher than 10 mb/s
the first drive will be the installer drive and the second will be the actual usb drive used to run remix os.
For first drive basic fat 32 install you will need rufus 2.9 usb boot media creator
after creation of the installer drive keep it safe i reccommend you use a 4gb drive $4/£2 off ebay but get something thats got a write speed higher than 10 mb/s or else install will fail!
Format the second drive to your liking ext 4 for example on your pc with minitool partition or acronis disk manager (make sure the drive is formatted as primary and set to active flag)
1. Create fat 32 usb boot disk with first usb drive and rufus 2.9 and the remix os iso
2.make sure after creation you boot up the usb drive and enter remix os then shutdown and boot up again to write the config files
3.make sure you dont boot up the ufi version of the boot up, only use the legacy version (it will have ufi next to boot drive in bios usb boot up list)
4.after you enter remix os go to settings and download the update (ota) (this is the main fix)(if this update fails you cannot proceed further with instructions)(DOSENT APPLY TO REMIX OS 3.0+ INSTALLATION)
5. After ota update reboot and enter remix os again and let android upgrade
6.after this stage is complete your fat32 remix os usb bootable drive is ready to create a usb drive that runs remix os from the drive itself.
7.insert the second drive in a usb hub and boot up the computer with both drives in the computer and boot from the first drive (the usb remix os installer drive)
8.boot up and at the grub boot menu (it should look blue with yellow writing not the black ufi version) press tab and type: INSTALL=1
9. then press enter then you will enter usb media creation menu select scan usb drives and select the second drive (the remix os running drive)
10. It will ask you what you want to format the drive as so select do not format option (becus you already formatted it)
11.then it will ask you to install first grub boot menu say yes
12. Then it will ask you to install second boot grub efi menu say yes
13. Next it will ask you if you want to format the boot partition or something like that say *** no ***
14. Then it will ask you if you want read/write privelage say yes
15. It will proceed to write the remix os onto the drive
16. When finished it will ask to restart (at this point i just switch the pc off by holding power button then restart and boot off the new second drive to run the os from it already upgraded too)
note: If wanting ntfs version of remix os then its a little complicated than this and you will need to use imgtools to increase the data.img file on the ntfs drive after creation with the first usb media creator drive.
The remix os ota update addresses the boot media creation errors. After the ota update all drives created with the grub menu installer boot up as they should but only ufi boot up option hangs!
Hope this helps hit the thanks dont forget so i know how many people were helped by this! enjoy.
I have the ativ pc pro xe700t1c the uk version with intel core i5 quad core and its also a convertible tablet with msata ssd as hdd drive and as you all probbaly know android was created for fast flash memory and linux format os so the best combination is an ssd and ext4 linux file format. I have a 64gb 544 mb/s msata drive in a usb 3.0 enclosure which i use to boot remix os and run it off it. Its perfectly smooth and fast enough 5 secs to boot and the ativ pc pro convertible laptop/tablet is fully compatible hadware software wise, no problems at all. The 5 year old Ativ pc pro gets 119,000+ score in antutu benchmark same as the latest LG G5 with the latest adreno 530 gpu/snapdragon 820 cpu which costs approx £600 now in retail!!! I bought the Ativ pc pro convertible laptop/tablet for only £200 two weeks ago with accessories (ethernet dock etc) worth alone £100 on its own off ebay!!! On top of all that its also a windows 10 pro convertible laptop/tablet system which on its own without android was initially worth £1200 five years ago and still costing approx £500 even now in retail. So what im trying to say here is that for only £200 i get a £600 android 6.0 laptop/tablet and i also get a £500 windows 10 pro laptop tablet ALL IN ONE. Muahahahahahaha haaaaa hahahaha kekekeke.
Same problem here, but I'm not installing on a USB.

Then your only choice is to install Remix in a virtual machine, or wait for more drivers to be added.

I want to switch my 32 bits kernel to a 64 bits one

Got a Galaxy J6 (J-600FN) which have 64 bits hardware, but have android 32 bits for some reason, preventing me from using some apps.
I know i'll need root, i'll work on that on my side.
Latest software update from what Samsung says doesn't have a 64 bits kernel.
Any idea on how and what should i use to switch my kernel?
PS: Some apps / games require a 64 bits OS to work, that why i want to switch my kernel

64 bits is the Architecture of your chip, you can't just change it by changing your kernel, it will brick your device. It's like asking how to turn your home into an intelligent robot by just buying a Google home and plugging it into the house electricity. The architecture is a physical thing that needs transformation. You need a 64 bits device my friend.
But nice try asking, you just avoided to brick you device by flashing an incompatible kernel.
@Gess1t
Android OS can run on both 32-bit and 64-bit processor architectures. If you have a phone running the 32-bit version, you basically can upgrade to the 64-bit version.
If I'm right your phone has only 4GB RAM. That's the memory a 32-bit Android can handle. Although 4GB of RAM might be installed, not all will be available due to reserved addresses for motherboard components and other hardware. Yes a 64-bit Android could handle up to 2TB memory, but with regards to your phone's memory capacity you do not profit anything. Unless a phone has heaps of memory otherwise there is really no point of installing 64-bit system. And yes, more data is transferred between the CPU and RAM for each memory fetch (64 bits instead of 32), so 64-bit programs can be faster if provided they are written so that they properly take advantage of this. But I don't know of any Android program that's optimized for this.
And, IMHO, you can't simply flash any 64-bit Android: you have to flash a 64-bit Android that is suitable to your phone, this because of device's inbuilt components, such as graphics and sound cards.
in my country, the phone i got only 3 GB of RAM but in aida64, i haven't found any traces of 32 bit architecture other than the kernel, also, i don't want to switch kernel version for "benefit" other than playing 64 bits apps/ games, but mainly to be able to play on citra and optimize it for my device since it's open source (citra require a 64 bit OS)
https://pastebin.com/nM5sqBKm
this is the report from aida64 BTW and you can see that my CPU is running in 32-bit mode instead of 64 bit (probably because of the kernel version)
@Gess1t
Your Samsung's CPU is a ARMv8-A, a true 64-bit CPU, what allows aside 64-bit applications also 32-bit applications - as most Android apps and games still are - to be executed: comparable to 64-bit Windows that also allows 32-bit apps to be run ( keyword: SYSWOW ). This ARMv8-A CPU natively runs any 64-bit Android app.lication.
The heart of Android is its Linux kernel: Upstreaming your "Android kernel" means upgrading its "Linux kernel" to the latest Linux stable. But I assume you understand something different under "kernel".

well, maybe, but without a 64 bit kernel i still can't run citra, (nor install it).
EDIT: a bonus would be to have a 64 bit kernel with OC capabilities.

My bad, just saw the pastbin log, indeed your system is 64 bits, idk why there would be a 32-bits mode to it?
This isn't really my field, and there aren't any J6 forum here so idk. Have a good day tho
My device (cpu - mt6761) support 64bit but the os is 32bit any way to get 64bit?
