Hi,
I am currently using a Vibrant USA and I am running Bi-Winning v3 with the bullet kernel1.48ghz but i keep it at 1.27 max when I'm using it for most applications. I have been getting about a full 12 hour day out of a single charge while using Juice Defender ultimate.
First and Foremost I apologize if this question has been answered already, I did use all of the search tools described in the noob video
I have no complaints about Bi-Winning, I came from project-V and I have found both roms great and beautifully designed (with the trigger theme)
For my computer I am using a 27" Imac 2010 (osx 10.6.5 with current update) model with 8 gigs of ram and a core i7 processor. I recently found a program called the Winebottler. I was able to use this program to turn Odin into an Application that Mac osx can run. I am very intriuged by MIUI and CM7 as well as other roms such as Revolution rc1 however without knowing that odin will run properly I cannot try them. If odin messes up my phone install because Im not on windows then I could have corupt files that I could for that same reson not fix via Odin.
I was wondering if anyone has both operating systems or is a mac user with expierience in this issue. I have tried everything I have seen in other XDA formums telling me to use something like bootcamp or a disk partition (on my mac for dual os) but after several attempts I have not been able to get it to work at all. I would really appreciate any replies that might help me.
I was also wondering if the advantages in 2.3 would be noticable to someone who uses the phone for calls, sms, web browsing, video playback, verry little gaming(ocassional basic game like paper toss). I was also wondering if any of the 2.3 roms were fully working for everything but gps as I have a garmin for that.
One more thing, I once tried using rom manager to download and run miui 1.6.10 from project v but it gave me a hardware lock/rebootcycle wouldnt pass the vibrant samsung screen and no recovery or download mode was available. I know that It was totally my bad but that is my one expierience with flashing non edt roms.
have you tried heimdall it is a less buggy odin and it is for mac too...here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755265
thanks button if i helped
Yes, try Heimdall. I think it's the only native app that will work on OSX. I use it when I'm booted into Linux too.
Thank you
Thank you for the very quick response, I am installing Heimdall as we speak Hopefully i'll be on gingerbread by morning
just be sure to follow all the instructions properly on any 2.3.4 install and you should have no need for heim/odin. of course theres always a chance of a random error. but once you get the cm7 initial kernel flashed youcan factory reset reflash from that. haven't had to odin back to stock and i've flashed cm7/miui and even tried the honeycomb 3.0 alpha rom. that was interesting. just take your time play it safe and go slow
as far as benefits go the aethetics alone to Me are worth the update to gingerbread. though i'm a pretty devout Miui fan the theming engine is gorgeous and the styles are slick.
Stability wise miui is good.
CM7 is... getting better
the Sgs II clone roms all feel solid and fast
and simply Honey is one many would swear by though i personally have yet to try it (really stuck on miui lol)
my recommendation get a few, try miui, simply honey and the sgs II clone (CM7 while awesome is still far from an excellent daily driver IMO) just flash one give it a whirl, titanium backup all your apps (not data) enter recovery factory reset, format system, cache, data, and datadata and flash the next one (fix permissions), rinse repeat till you find the one for you. No need to odin inbetween flashes. also rom manager when you enter it before using it to fix permissions set it up as 3.x to follow with teh version of clockwork recovery your using.
Simply Honey

I'm on CM11, Snapshot M3 build, running HBOOT 1.33 and using the 1.01.04.0308 baseband/radio. I've been fighting my PC the past two days trying to get Fastboot to be recognized under Windows 8.1 without success (my relationship with 8.1 has really been a love/hate situation ever since I've upgraded), and I've been wondering - would it really be worth the hassle, to begin with, to upgrade the hboot and/or the radio?
I've heard mixed opinions about the latest radio - as it has killed the data speed for some, but has helped others. I'm using Verizon, and with CM11, I haven't had the greatest speeds or connectivity (not necessarily a ROM issue, I'm sure). I've also been experimenting with Viper4Android, which I think is actually pretty great, except I get some strange "robotic-sounding" hangs in the audio when, I'm suspecting, the WiFi radio is connecting, or the cell radio might be swapping towers or something. Though now I'm beginning to wonder if it might just be a governor issue. Sorry that I'm just speculating here, lol. But this is the main reason I'm thinking about trying different firmware.
What do you guys/gals think? Would there be a worthy difference in upgrading one or the other? I've read that upgrading the hboot has helped Win 8.1 users...but isn't fastboot needed in the first place to do that?
Any suggestions appreciated. :good:

the real issue is 8.1 drivers. There are threads dealing with the issue, do they solve it? I don't know, I use 7.
The radio maybe it might help, try it. As far as I know the only reason for changing H-Boot would be for running an Ruu
The solutions work for some people, but the most successful one appears to cause loss of USB functionality for some. I've tried a VM running Ubuntu, but I guess that since my desktop isn't connecting natively, a VM won't help either (Ubuntu gives a device enumeration error upon attempting to connect). I could be doing something wrong using VMware though.

True, I'll have to try that. I'll let you know how it goes.
A much delayed update, but I managed to get my hboot up to 1.54 and the radio to the latest as well, using my Ubuntu partition on one of my machines. Emulation under Win 8.1 didn't seem to work. Drivers still don't work under fastboot in Windows 8.1, for either USB 2.0 or 3.0. Hopefully HTC fixes this in the near future...
This is a debloated/slightly modified ROM. There are NO ASUS apps, and only the bare minimum Google apps. I don't use any of the Fit apps, so they have been removed, but I believe they can be easily reinstalled through the PlayStore. Everything on the watch is significantly faster, except the Bluetooth call lag still exists on 4G, like it does on every device lately. I don't notice the bluetooth lag when the phone and watch are connected to WiFi. There is no watch face installed, so install one from the PlayStore after it boots. I pulled the boot animation from the developer preview, and the clock works during boot. It's pretty sexy.
Within the zip are the boot and recovery files as well, which include TWRP and a patched boot.img for Magisk. You'll need to sideload the latest Magisk Manager to have root access.
DIRECTIONS:
Download and extract Sparrow_7.1.1_Debloat
Boot into fastboot mode.
fastboot -w (This wipes the device, which is HIGHLY recommended.)
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.simg
I highly recommend starting with fastboot -w to wipe the device. If you run into any issues at all and didn't wipe before install, then wipe and try again before posting issues. Also, pay close attention to the SIMG in system.simg. Type it exactly as it's posted, or copy and paste it. The SIMG is important lol.
Anyone running this ROM should look into this mod by @LeeonLee. Everything is noticeably smoother and lightning fast. I haven't gotten any Bluetooth lag since I implemented it. https://forum.xda-developers.com/ze...parrowaw2-0-enabling-cores-gpu-boost-t3800427
Let me know what you guys think and if I should add/remove anything. I plan to add some more tricks if I update the ROM, including some speed tweaks. Happy Flashing!!!
Appears to work fine here.

Hi...I install this rom and the mod leeonlee, my watch have high battery drain, I do not know what to do
Did the battery life get significantly worse compared to stock 2.0? There was no noticeable difference in battery life for me. It was always horrible on 2.0 for me.
I have been running this for almost 3 weeks with @LeeonLee mod, and I haven't gotten any significant Bluetooth lag for calls. Before his mod, it wasn't uncommon that my phone would ring for 5 seconds before the watch showed me someone was calling. I mainly use my watch for riding my motorcycle, so any call lag is a big deal when I can't see who is calling.
I also haven't gotten the "not available" message when using voice commands since the mod.
Hello, I'm using still the stock rom, just rooted + performance patch, watch last 2 days, even 3 days when not used so intensively.

Maybe I should look into the build.prop mods I added from another watch. Perhaps it's causing excessive battery usage. It could also be that my watch battery is degraded.
which version of magisk manager and how sideload it? i'm little bit noob with adb
Here is a much easier way if you don't know adb too well. Download the latest Magisk installer zip from the Magisk thread onto your PC. I personally am using the 16.4 beta at this time. The Magisk Manager is included in the Magisk zip. Assuming you have TWRP installed, boot into recovery using *adb reboot recovery* or swipe from the top right when booting. The watch is recognized as a storage drive when it's in recovery. Then you can copy the Magisk zip from you PC to your watch, and install it with TWRP. This will give you the latest Magisk and Magisk Manager.

Never thought about using TWRP to transfer the zip, I just simply pushed it via adb and then rebooted to TWRP to install magisk zip.
BTW, after installing recovery.zip, boot.zip, magisk.zip, I rooted and setup the OnDemand script. It now is much smoother and don't see any noticeable lags. I downloaded System Info Wear to check that the script is actually working. It shows all four cores running at 787Mhz. Kudos to @LeeonLee for the script setup!! Many thanks also to @CVertigo1 !! I also decided to do what @LeeonLee mentioned in regards to stock rom staying put. I wasnt too eager to wipe current system just yet
hi guys... the smartwatch finally is usable.. but i have a question, have the wrist gestures been removed?
Just want to say that I've been using this ROM for a few weeks now, along with the core unlock mod. And it is amazing. The watch is so much more fluid. And with my rather light usage (always on, no gestures) I still get a full day out of the battery. I'm also glad all the extra bloat is gone. No apps I'll never use and no watchfaces I never set.
If you are thinking about switching from stock, highly recommended.
Thanks @CVertigo1

Wrist gestures are still there, you just have to turn on that setting under Gesture settings.

I really appreciate the kind words. That's exactly what I was going for. I'm not big into searching through a hundred apps to find the few I need, so I prefer my devices to be very militaristic. If I need Fit apps, or any other app, I'll install them separately. They don't need to live in the system. I stripped as much as I could without causing bootloops. I may be able to pull a few more out for the next ROM upload, and I'll also include @LeeonLee mods.
despite my limited modding skills I managed to do everything without doing any damage .. a big thank you to @CVertigo1 and @LeeonLee for the great work ..
Hope @CVertigo1 will be able to port a zenwatch3 rom on 2 one day...
Can I use this rom for wren?
I have just recently installed this on my watch, and it is very nice! The only thing that I noticed is that the pedometer (through Google Fit) does not seem to count the steps I am taking, is this related to some of the files be removed or is it just Google?
I'm not working at the moment but I want to send you a donation as soon as I can. I wanted to thank you because your debloated ROM managed to get my watch booting up once again for the first time in nearly a year. You deserve a donation because you saved me from spending money I don't wanna waste on an entirely new watch.
Is there any way to install some watchfaces stock after installing this Rom?

Are their any projects related to the Oukitel K9 phone? I purchased one and use it on the AT&T network here in the USA.
The phone is decent but the built in Android is very generic and buggy.
I would love to unlock the potential of this phone with a custom ROM.
Let me know if this isn't the right place to ask and point me in the right direction!

No custom roms at this time, why bother when you can custom Android 9 using Magisk , Xposed and Substratum. Although having a Lineage 17 would be nice.
I ask because the Android on this phone is so buggy and lacking features. I don't see how the options you gave will add features I need. They might as I'm new to these apps and don't know much about them.

If you private message me I cannot get to the messages here. If I click on messages it takes me to the register or reset password every time. I have no way to read them.
At this point it's useless to try since the mediatek drivers no longer work on Windows 10. Not a single guide on installing on Windows 10 64 bit work anymore. If anyone knows how to get the Oukitel drivers to work, let me know. No amount of driver sign or advanced boot works. Every time I plug in the phone it says the previous device malfunctioned.
It worked once and I have never connected the phone since. Will not work.

This might seem obvious, but could never get my PC (Windows10 64bit) to even recognize my Oukitel K9 until I (out of desperation, and to try to prove a point to someone) reinstalled Minimal ADB & Fastboot 1.4.3 from here:

It's the same thing I had previously installed, and I didn't expect it to suddenly/miraculously start working, but it did.
I'll pm you.

Thanks, but I sold this phone and went to a Pixel 4 XL. I needed something reliable and InTune refused to work on the old Oukitel.
Has anyone worked out ramdisk partition for Magisk?
Discovery,
Thanks to Phh has developed the perfect ROM for the Oukitel K9. Strangely I have had to try many ROMs to find the perfect one. The Lineage ROM; I had GPS issues, the Recent app button not working, and signal loss. Wanted the latest OS and this one is the winner below.

Llevo un par de semanas probando la rom y no funciona el detector de huellas,se puede mejorar?hay alguna rom(Android 12) mas estable y que todo funcione?,gracias
MOD Edit: I've been testing the rom for a couple of weeks and the fingerprint sensor doesn't work, can it be improved? Is there a more stable rom (Android 12) that makes everything work? Thanks
Try the updated version https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases/tag/v402
Should resolve the fingerprint issue. I have also tried the AOSP 12.1 v410 and the result is the phone goes into a boot loop. Not sure why when the previous version installs so easily. I have built a custom TWRP 3.6.1 and will be trying it soon. The reason why we need to update; that the TWRP 3.3.1 version is limited and could be the reason why there are install issues with some GSIs out there. The encryption keeps reactivating even if I use scripts, flash no verify-verity. Hopefully, this will work. I'm enjoying the new version too much to start again I will keep you posted.
This one is supreme V411 and distracts me away from my Note 20 Ultra. https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases/tag/v411 .Works well with the Oukitel K9, recommend to use swapram module for boosting memory 4gb to 8gb. Searching for a working TWRP 3.6.

I've flashed this one and found it is as laggy as CrDroid. I thought it might be due to not wiping data before flashing. Decided to reboot to recovery to wipe data. And.. phone stuck at twrp logo. No go further. Do you have any better TWRP than mine 3.3.1?
Try using the "Yet another Kernel Tweaker" module in Magisk. Through all my searches I could only find the TWRP 3.3.1. Tried building using kitchen but failed. Sometimes the TWRP will take up to 5 to 10 minutes, remember it is trying to decrypt. If it takes longer then SPflash, assuming done correctly with vbmeta. After the initial install the updates and synchronization starts processing. This causes a slow-down. I thought the same. Leave the device for a day to update and synchronize then should be faster.

TWRP logo is for hours here.
Now I can't even enter fastboot after I've chosen reboot to recovery from cherishos power menu.
I hit volup+pwr and boot menu doesn't even show up. Tried 20+ times already.
I'm stuck. The last hope is to wait for it to discharge on twrp logo and try my luck with fastboot menu again.
Otherwise I have no idea. Now I question myself why on Earth I would even try to better something that works at least average ))))

I've managed to revive it. But still on cherishos and few other A13 roms screen is flickering. Have you got something like that?
Build in the works. Going to release the BETA as soon as I can do testing on my own device before release.
IMO this is a necessity as there are literally no good roms for this right now. I tried the port of the Nexus stock CR rom and it was not great. Playstore was unusable due to an issue were the app thinks the system is out of storage space, even though it is almost empty. Chrome crashes instantly, the search on the page home screen flickers up/down without control.
I am a far bigger fan of LineageOS thus why I am working on this build.
More to come.

As a follow up to my original post I wanted to mention that for anyone who wants a new ROM on their SM-T290 until this is finished development, use the Nexus Rom by Magendanz. I was able to do a fresh stock firmware install and retry the rom and my opinion has changed. I have noticed that these Tab A 8.0 tablets have been used a lot for like Uber/Door Dash and other POS terminals. I am pretty sure a lot of them have modified or customized firmware for these reasons and when I mine second hand it was from a pizza store. I think that messed up the upgrade.
Overall Magendanz did a great job, when you install it properly. I have zero issues with functionality now, TWRP recovery set up, as well as Magisk installed and everything is running extremely well.
As far as instruction on how to install. Take a look at some of the comments further down on the Nexus thread. That is what I did this time around and it worked perfectly. Last thing I did was copy Magisk.Apk to my SD, change extension from .APK to .ZIP, then boot into TWRP and install that ZIP.
Going to update progression on a monthly basis as far as the LineageOS 18.0 build

Do you have a github with your source code and manifest? I just got this tablet (used) yesterday and I would like to see if I can help. I have built LineageOS roms for a number of older Samsung Tab A devices, but will have to do some research on the "new to me" T290. Thanks.
Just got this tablet, how's the beta coming along? And what can I do to help?
Thank you my guy I had lost all hope for custom roms on this tablet. It's quite relieving to know that I'm not alone.
Also, has anyone experienced severe lag on one ui 3 while doing basic tasks? The thing literally gets 5 fps while watching youtube and surfing the web but it plays 3d games at 20 fps on low settings. wtf

Hey Guys,
I didnt end up building a custom rom, because I was able to get the GSI version of Lineage 19 working fairly easily. Just use the correct image and flash the same as the Nexus post. Android 12 with Lineage 19 so i felt it wasnt worth it as everything works. I had trouble at first with a boot loop but that was because I had installed Magisk BEFORE the GSI rom and not AFTER. So dont make my mistake.
As per the Nexus Post;
Unlock Bootloader
flash TWRP
Wipe data
Install Andy Yan's Lineage OS 19 GSI
Andy Yan's personal builds // GSI - Browse /lineage-19.x at SourceForge.net
sourceforge.net
Install Magisk
Reboot
Cheers!

Good advice But which of Andy's GSIs did you use exactly ?

The GSI is a .img.xz will it work or does it need to be .gsi

You download the .img.xz file and unzip it.
Inside this will be the .img file
This is what you need to flash (.img)

Sorry
Use this one
lineage-19.0-20220211-UNOFFICIAL-treble_arm64_bgS.img.xz
It has Gapps built in as well as super user through SSH, dont install Magisk as it will error that there is already SU tool installed.
@SniperFox22 , did you make a github for the code or didn't even start since you are happy with GSI?

My OS didn't have an option to unzip it at first glance. I haven't been able to install gapps so I'm gonna try that gsi. Also, am I supposed to wipe internal storage before flashing or not?
I got it working but games just crash which is worse than before
Came across this while trying to root my sm-t290. Just want to add that Andy Yan has upgraded to a 19.1 version that appears to work just fine. Flashed to system partition using twrp after I had flashed the Nexus rom. Wifi works, sound works, sd card, bluetooth keyboard works just fine.

Link to it???
I like the link above because it has all the versions but lineage-19.1-20220320-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgS.img.xz is the one that I used. The page has the naming convention. Ill mention that even though it says that it's supposed to be rooted, I couldn't get it to work right. The nexus rom had an option in the 'phh treble' menu to activate root and this lineage image should also but the option wasn't there. It kept saying the supersu binary was busy but that was after I flashed a supersu.zip(it may have worked before then i don't know). I played with it a little bit but ended up just flashing back to the Nexus rom.
Hey guys!
Installed "lineage-19.1-20220320-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgS.img"
Everything starts up, but something is weird with my installation and my storage, it freezes when i go into storage and i cant download anything without apps start to crash.
Im not sure if i flashed it correctly, i did a wipe in TWRP before installation.
Really hope i can get this to work since it waaaaay faster then the bloat samsung ships
Edit:
Tried flashing another rom (nexus) and had the same issue!
trying to reflash and wipe everything except internal storage.
Where should i flash image? i get: "select partition to flash image", never seen that before (might be because you flash img and not zip)
