In settings I only have smart unlock (Huawei).
Under trusted agents,I have two options;
Smart unlock, that's Huawei, and smart lock (Google).
I uncheck the one from Huawei and check Google's smart lock.
Still, the only one showing under security and under screen ands passwords etc, is Huaweis own smart unlock.
I really would like to use Google's smart lock, but it won't appear, and have never been showing there.
How is this you others here?
Does smart LOCK show to you, or only smart UNLOCK?
After entering pin, my only choice is add Bluetooth device.
Anyone else here have the option for trusted places?
With Honor 7 I have same issue.
No any reference about google smart lock option than in trusted agents.
Disabling of huawei own smart lock does not have any effect for functionality of google smart lock.
However when I connect my smart watch ....confirmation screen of smart lock is google's one...I think...maybe....this is first time I use this feature so....
Several days ago I set my home place, but smart unlock never worked.
I receive every morning the message "Smart Lock - Phone locked after 4 hours of inactivity" therefore I understand smartlock is configured correctly but usually I cannot overtake the lock page without using the fingerprint.
What am I mistaking?
Mine works with Mi Band and Honor Zero Band and B180.
But this defeats the purpose of the excellent fingerprint scanner. So I don´t use it.

I have a Nexus 5 with Google Play Services v. 6.5.99 and I'm getting some strange behaviour with the Smart Lock feature.
When I initially used the Trusted Places feature, I noticed that when I drove away from my home, the lock function didn't work automatically. This is also happening on my husband's Nexus 6. I don't think this is right and believe the phone should lock when you move away from the unlock zone.
However, the main problem I'm having is that the phone won't lock when I turn off the Home toggle and have no customised places set up. I also deleted a work address in Google Maps and so this option is naturally greyed out in Smart Lock Trusted Places. At one point, I played around with adding my home as a customised place and have since deleted it. I also changed my home address in Google Maps to my parents' address so I could test it when I was at my own home to see if the phone would lock. Nothing seems to work.
The only way I can get the phone to lock now is to disable the whole Smart Lock feature in Trusted Agents, otherwise I have a phone which won't lock. The exception is after a reboot - I have to unlock it once and then the phone stays unlocked.
Because of this, I can no longer use the Face Unlock feature either.
I've read that some people are finding they have to unlock their phone when it should be unlocked already but it's worse if you have no Trusted Places set and the phone won't lock. Does anyone else have this problem?
I too have the same problem with my Nexus. Only way to enable lock for me was to disable smart lock or turn the Location service off
Glad it isn't just me. I set my parents address as a customised place and the behaviour seemed to be as it should be when I went there. It appears that the problem lies with the Home trusted place.
I have the same problem although I've never used trusted places. I have a smartwatch setup as a trusted device, phone is a Nexus 6 rooted
Hello, is it possible to turn off only GPS, like on the older Huawei phones, and to leave only network/wifi/bt location reporting?
That no longer seems to be an option but it might be a change that is part of Android 9.
Perhaps, but anyway, very stupid decision
The only customization option I see for location is to turn off Bluetooth and WiFi scanning and use GPS only for location.
I own the UK version of the M20P and briefly also had an international model. There were some differences in the OS--the UK version has standard Google Smart Lock options and the option to enable Google Feed on the stock launcher with right swipe.
The international model didn't have the Google Trust Agent (which is what enables Google Smart Lock options to function) and instead had the Huawei Trust Agent so the only Smart Lock option was for connected Bluetooth devices. There was also no option for the Google Feed and instead you could enable a Huawei screen on swipe right.
I was surprised the OS's on the two phones weren't identical since they were both SIM free M20P phones with no carrier branding or apps.
It's possible that some phones have slightly different location accuracy options in the menus depending on their model, region and software build.
I saw an option in Android 9 on other smartphones that you can increase security especially during night period by requiring a pin code after finger unlocking.
This option works on my Huawei randomly.
Do have a clue where can I set hours for biometry+pin?

That happens in your device because for security Huawei asks for your pin, pattern or password every three days. It can be at anytime on the day.
I have not seen nothing about your doubt, sounds interesting. Hope anyone else can help you.
It is called lockdown mode

Ok, I have it

For the life of me i cannot find smartlock on this device, if i look in trusted agents in security i can see google smart lock is activated, but cannot find any way to use it at all?
Its really annoying at night to have to keep unlocking my phone over and over and over with the fingerprint.
Is smart lock where the camera is supposed to recognize you and unlock itself?
No smart lock is when you activate a location or device to keep the device unlocked, say at home.
Every day i am finding another reason to get rid of this phone, DIABOLICAL software.
I was wondering if the smart lock option would work with any smart door lock, I think it should have a smart lock integration option build in. I am going to install a smart lock to try it, I had already scheduled a call with a local locksmith london to find out how much would it take for me to install it
@jrvenge from what I know Smart Lock is not something available in stock Android and vendor ROMs - it is a feature available only in some (Pixel software has it) - BUT it is also available in the Lineage ROM for MIX4
Fingerprint scanner is very convinient, but not that much secure as PIN or password. Is there any way (preferrably for non-rooted Pixel 6) to force my phone to periodically ask for a PIN or password to unlock (once every hour or afrer X mins of inactivity or so), but still keep a fingerprint unlock on? I know I could schedule to reboot my phone, but the phone would be unavailable during reboot (no phone calls) and I think I would need some third party app to save and restore notifications (which can be lost during reboot). Any suggestions?
My aim is to prevent someone to force me to unlock my phone with a fingerprint. They could use a force to put my finger on the fingerprint scanner, but no one can get a PIN out of my head. Yeah, I'm paranoiac - there's no need to remind me ;p
In that case, best and only solution is to stop using fingerprints. Just use pin and turn on notification history.
And what about available options for this matter on rooted phones? Is there any way to force Android to lock a phone with a PIN after X minutes? I don't want to stop using fingerprint scanner completely, but at the same time I don't want it to be the only screen unlocking option. I don't believe there's no way to accomplish this.
Alternatively I came up with an idea to make a "soft reset", kinda like on older Windows OS where instead of rebooting entire OS we could simply kill and restart explorer.exe process (I used to do that after installing some software which wanted to reboot my OS before first use). Does anyone know if such thing is possible and how to make it? I guess if it would be similiar approach to the one I used on Windows (restarting some process) then I could simply schedule some script to run every hour or so, but what that script would be?
Maybe use Tasker, and set a profile that open an app every amount of time?
I always have used this "lock" app, basically lock the phone so only with the password you can unlock it.
It's free, no ads or bs.

Thanks for suggestion, I'll check that out later, but I'm quite doubtful it'll work as the app you suggested seems to override other screen lock options, so it would switch off fingerprint scanner once activated. I'll give it a try though.
There is already a built in function called 'lockdown'. I don't know if can be triggered via Tasker though.

Hold the power button for a couple seconds.
Tap Lockdown. This turns off notifications, fingerprint or face recognition unlocking, and Smart Lock while on your lock screen.

Right, I forgot about it, but as you noticed - I also don't know if it could be triggered via Tasker. I think it's time to finally play with Tasker for a bit. Fingers crossed!
