So I am wanting to get rid of my pos 6s plus... I was looking at the v10 or the nexus 6p..which do you guys think is best?
Here are a few questions I had on the v10...
How are the cameras ? And how's the front for selfies ?
How is the audio quality ? Is it really that much better then other phones?
If I installed viper4android would the dac be pointless or would it be a super dac basically ?
How's the battery life ?
Is it quick or does it get laggy like the G4? Thanks !!!
. Nexus 6p camera was great until i used a note 5 camera. I liked the note 5 front facing camera until i used the g4 front facing camera which was the best i used on a phone. Sprint don't have the v10 or i would of had it but my guess would be a similar experience as the g4 but bigger and a extra screen .

The 6P is honestly one of the worst smartphones I've heard in terms of audio quality, while the V10 is the best, so it's a night and day difference in that regard. The V10 also has the better camera from what I've seen (I haven't used the 6P extensively, a friend owns one), but the gap there isn't as big.
I'd get the T-Mobile V10, since it's only variant that allows you to unlock the bootloader so you can throw a debloated ROM on there, which was a must for me
It all depends on what your looking for in a phone.
If you want the best audio play back while plugged into the 3.5'm port, than get the V10 . But if you never use the 3.5 port than you'll never enjoy the awesome audio.
If you want the best camera around than the V10 is the way to go. There's claims that the 6P can hang with the V10, but your still going to get slightly sharper imagines from V10.
When everyone asks about the V10 and audio quality, you first need to ask yourself what you expect to hear as far as difference goes between a DAC and the standard Snapdragon DAC. If you don't know how to answer that question, than you probably aren't looking for the right phone. If you have a pair of headphones that can show you the difference between a track with a noisy floor and not, then you probably should look at the V10. I use a pair of Westone 4r IEM's. Audio quality is about what *you* hear.. *your* opinion, not others! Understand that wanting Viper working in tandem with the DAC is not an example of audio quality. The purpose of the second DAC is to present you with the closest reproduction as possible to the source - without equalization, in this case - Viper.
That being said, using Viper with this phones built in Snapdragon DAC, there's very noticeable loudness over nearly all other phones on the market, but that is not audio quality, that's audio gain. Big difference!
I've got a V10 T-Mo version. I also have a T-Mo LG G4, M9 Dev edition Note 5, S6 and a Moto X Pure 2015. You just need to sit down and weigh the pros and cons of the phones you decide to pick from. Don't accept personal opinion because they will all be biased! I took my $500 headphones into the store and listened to each one. People thought I was crazy! I love and hate things about the V10. The G4 was extremely laggy until I put CM13 on it. I am absolutely blown away by the battery life I get on it now! AND it has the same Snapdragon 808 DAC that everyone raves about in the V10.
V10 has:
1) buggy fingerprint reader when a case is on the phone (a google search will show this - I hate having no case)
2) LCD bleeding on the second screen (found on many blogs - as mine does)
3) poor battery life considering the 3,000 mah battery and idle with just stock apps (my personal experience as well as others)
4) The inability to root and change the LCD density. Doing so causes FC's upon boot and you have to factory reset. This has been an issue for months and will remain until a a dev finds a work around. Seriously, this phone has a larger physical screen but you see less on the screen than any other phone I've listed!
5) GREAT camera, but LAGGY shutter times. It's unfortunate. Camera can keep up with the S6 camera in the right conditions but that's just the thing.. "right conditions" and how long it takes from pocket to snapping that photo.
6) EXCELLENT built in dual audio system. Viper DOES work with the built in DAC - but the ESS chip lowers the gain (can't go as loud) so most all people I've read in blogs say they just use viper on the stock Snapdragon 808 DAC. Googling will show how to enable the DAC on all apps, not just the stock.
7) EXCELLENT build quality, though some don't like the rubber texture of the back
I'm probably the only one here that will tell you out of all those phones they would choose the G4. (See, that was a biased answer.) Previous posters are right in saying if you're looking for the best sound, get a V10 (It edges out the HTC m9 and obliterates the S6) - but make sure you're willing to overlook its downfalls.
The biggest piece of advice I can give anyone is - There's ALWAYS a catch! Make sure if you're willing to live with that devices catch and you're good to go!

Best Camera - Note 5
Worst Camera - Moto X Pure
Best Audio Quality - LG V10
Worst Audio Quality - S6
Best Audio Loudness - LG V10
Worst Audio Loudness - Moto X Pure (which is odd because it's the same 808 Snapdragon.)
Best Battery - Note 5 (It's a matter of physics)
Worst Battery - LG V10
Best Build - LG V10 (Sorry, but they give you removable battery and microSD)
Worst Build - Moto X Pure (it's also the cheapest - lies... i'm sorry.. it's actually $399 which is what they are still selling the G4 for)
Best feel in the hand - S6
Worst feel in the hand - LG V10 (C'mon.. the thing is a tank!!!)
Easiest to root and install 3rd party ROM - G4 hands down! It's as easy as any Nexus device I've ever owned
Hardest to root and install 3rd party ROM - HTC M9 - but only because I had to pay $25 to unlock the bootloader with the SunShine app.

Decided to pick up an LG G3 on Thursday... So far, I am mostly pleased. Here's a review/comparison...in random order:
The display is nice and large, but doesn't feel like a bulky 5.5" in my hand. Easier to hold than my Galaxy S5, believe it or not...I definitely don't think about it as much, probably because of the thinner bezel and body.
While it is high quality, I wouldn't say the display is most amazing screen on the planet - considering the impressive specs on paper. You'll just have to see it. On several occasions, I've noticed that text looks fuzzy/washed out on white backgrounds. But I think now that it's actually an issue with certain apps not being able to produce high enough resolution - not the display's fault.
It does very well in bright sunlight, and seems to have the most reactive light sensor compared to the Galaxy S5 or the Moto X.
Removable battery and wireless charging back (coming soon) are handy conveniences. It also has an IR blaster, which I really missed from the Galaxy S5. Believe it or not, I actually use it very regularly.
I picked up a 32gb MicroSD... The phone can handle up to a 128gb...'nuff said
Photo quality is definitely above average. Night and day compared to the Moto X - even with the most recent Moto X firmware updates. I'd say the G3 is on par with older iPhones; which has always been the one to beat. Stunning? No, but closer than most any Android phone I've owned. Better than the Galaxy S5... The laser focus feature is somewhat noticeable, though I'd say it helps the camera act more like my expectations than being a substantial bonus.
LG has made quite a few tweaks to 4.4.2. Most all are complimentary, and freshen up the interface in a better way than most. Like many though, I was very surprised to find the stock launcher a bit slow and stuttering - especially considering that the phone is quad core with 3gb of ram. I suspect they'll update things in a revision soon... Overall, the phone is snappy. And other than the stock launcher itself, everything else performs very well/fast. I really don't perceive anything negatively as "bloat".
I dearly miss the breathing Moto X notifications. LG does make up for it to some degree by offering the knock-to-power-on convenience. If you aren't familiar, you can simply double tap the screen to turn it on...no buttons to fumble for and press. So this helps to check things very quickly. The notification light on the front also compliments...
The stock keyboard is zippy and performs as well as the Google one. I like that you can change the color scheme and some of the button format, as well as the fact that it has a number bar at the top all the time.
I've been able to root the phone, which has helped to satisfy some of my hacking nature. I quickly got a bit burned out with custom roms on the Moto X - partly because things tend to glitch more than I wanted, and surprisingly because the Moto X actually has a very limited development community...even for my Developer Edition model.
I'm slightly concerned that LG has not announced any support for Android L yet.
Battery life is on par with the Moto X and Galaxy S5...probably because it's powering such a large screen.
Physical build quality is great. And I have quickly embraced LG's genius of placing all the buttons on the rear of the phone. They're very convenient, and you can even program long-press actions (with a hack) to quickly launch the camera or an app from screen off. And again, the knock-to-power-on is by far my favorite. While the Galaxy S5 uses higher quality materials, I definitely find the G3 more attractive and convenient.
I also like that the headphone jack is on the bottom of the phone.
The Moto X speaker blows away the G3. The G3 is on par with the Galaxy S5...somewhat quiet and boring. This affects music and the speakerphone negatively. Call quality on the G3 is disappointing with the earpiece as well (non-speakerphone call)...tinny and dull. Too often I find that I have a noticeably harder time hearing people than on the S5 or Moto X.
Overall, I am pleased. Tradeoffs outweigh disadvantages, and I love that I didn't have to install a ton of add-on apps to improve functionality and remove bloat. If I could unlock the bootloader, increase battery life about 3 hours, and improve the speaker/earpiece quality, it would just about be a perfect phone...
I have a moto x and am really struggling on whether or no to get the g3 or wait for the moto x+1. The g3 is only 100 now but I'm sure that price will be offered again with the iPhone coming soon.
I really like the moto x; size, features, battery life.
I guess my main concern is the size. I remember when the note 3 came out I said I'd never get a phone that big and the g3 is pretty much the same size haha

I agree the LG UI is laggy/stuttering. Some people say they don't see it..must be magic phones.
I am confused as to why you said you missed the IR blaster on the S5? Maybe it was a mis-type, but it has an IR blaster. I agree with a lot of what you said, but I find the G3 to have worse battery life than the S5, also less polish. I miss little things (lock screen text preview vs "New Message", Native flashlight, call reject, facebook calendar sync, etc) I sold mine, but I'm actively trying to work out a deal to trade my G3 for another S5.
The headset 'loudness" on the g3 is on par with the G2 IMO, which is pretty lack luster. The M8 was the best (obviously).
For me the G3 is amazing. The only time I get any lag is when I first unlock the phone. It takes a little bit of time for the on screen buttons to come up and if I try to swipe down the notifications it stutters. But after that it is like butter. I have grown tired of Samsung. I had the S4, it was a good phone, but I am over Samsung, I needed a change and this is a change in the right direction.

Best phone I have had imo, granted it is not head and shoulders. I loved my g flex for entertainment purposes, but in the end was to big for my new job.
Parents are rocking that and now I am on this, it's a beautiful phone!
Also it's smaller than the Note series. I had a n2 and n3 for a short while and this I can use one handed. The other two, no way!

This lag issue I think is very hard to gauge from user to user. What someone thinks is a perfectly fast phone could be considered a laggy phone for someone else.
I have my G3 almost completely Debloated. .I use Nova Launcher and have Animation scales at .5 and the only perceivable lag I see is sometimes going into Settings or Recents. It's definitely not anything major to me and could probably just be me nit-pickin lol
Hard to say though across the board for everyone since people have their phones set up so differently. Just my two cents my friend....

Some people just notice every little bit of everything. I am glad I am not one of those people as it would be hard to be content with anything.
It's ok guys. It started with me mentioning the lag that myself and several others experience. Then the fanboys follow me from thread to thread to remind me that they have "no lag". I'm ok with people not having the same experience , most people would just rather lie and argue about it than admit their beloved device isn't perfect.
I'm having a hard time deciding between my galaxy S5 and my LG G3. My experience is a little different from most because i'm coming from the other flagship:
S5:
-In my opinion the screen is MUCH better. colors, contrast, viewing angles and most importantly brightness. In sunlight the S5 is so much easier on the eyes than the G3
-daytime photography: overall nicer photos and more detail from shots with great lighting
-Slightly better battery life
-slightly better 4G connection
-Smoother UI
G3:
-noticeably bigger screen
-really good standby (screen off) battery life
-preferring the back buttons over side buttons as well as knock code
-night and low light photos: major improvement over S5
-video recording audio: clear vs distorted audio from S5

OP is saying that the IR blaster was used a lot when the S5 was owned. After moving on to the Moto X, the IR blaster from the S5 was really missed. BUT! YAY! G3 has an IR blaster!!! Back to being "that person" that changes the channels on the TVs at the bars again!

I'm selling my Z5 Compact under MM. The decision was hard because I kinda love the fingerprint but...
The battery is a complete joke, it doesn't last a day compared to my old Z3C which is far more better in everything,
The device gets warm and hot all the time, in any application I go (I have no games and I mostly use Google apps and Telegram)

I'm going to take back my good old Z3 Compact which is far more better.

Before the MM update - yes, I felt the same. Since MM and the newest update mine has been great.
If it weren't for z3c side charging I would have never chosen the z5c. I'm holding onto mine for a bit longer until this HTC mini, s7 mini, and xiaomi mini release. Front facing speakers are keeping me from downgrading back to a mini Samsung for the time being.
And as far as battery life and heat issues I'm right on the same page. I've adapted to it for now by quick charging at lunch time to get me through the work day and clipping phone to me so I'm not burning myself in my pocket.
I am thinking about doing that too, but there are 2 things that keeping me from that, fingerprint sensor and camera! I don't know what to do, wait for S7 Mini,go for S7, wait for SONY to maybe fix issues of this phone or what else?
I think if only this phone had 3GBs of RAM we had no problem or even SONY used good old Snapdragon 801!
i had drain and heat problem until i shutoff 4G, now (3G.5HPSA) only dosnt need really need fast internet
now my phone is 40-90 hours average use , instand 12-30

I am quite happy with the phones performance and battery life since MM, but I have now preordered the HTC10 and my neighbour is already waiting to buy the Z5C from me. If the HTC10 is as good as I beleive it is, I can overlook the fakt that I hate big phones in this case. Ive been a very happy HTC owner since the HD2 and lastly the M7. The Z5C is a great phone to me, but it will never be more than that. HTC usually managed to float my boat just that tiny bit better than the other brands

I used to be a big HTC fan until they went to the one series. They are supposedly bring an h10 mini out with flagship specs this year. Hopefully they don't disappoint like the last two minis, I want to go HTC again.

you know the HTC 10 has not stereo speakers anymore? only dual speakers one (lower) for bass and for top on high pitch
Z5C is kind the same thing BUT! still stereo , Z5C top speaker wave range of 150hz-22050KHz and bottom speaker is 500HZ-22050Khz (less bass)

Dude, I dont care about that stuff. If I want to listen to music I get me a proper stereo and speakers or headphones. Any cellphone speaker sounds horrible.
What kind of personality disorders do people have these days to need a stabilized photosensor for selfies? Is a look in the mirror in the morning not good enough anymore? Million megapixels cellphone cameras still make crappy pictures in comparison to any 100€ camera Ive gotten my hands on.
Marketing makes us beleive that we need so many things in our cellphones, but in the end they usualy cant to one thing great.
I bought the Z5C because it was the only product available that offered highclass specs in a small phone. I dont like the design of it, the picture quality, speaker sound quality, sony customizations...you name it. Its a good phone for what it is. A phone. Snappy performance and 2 days on a charge make me a happy user.
The HTC10 is not compact, which I am not happy about, but it has a beautiful design and HTC Sense. Apparently it also has better sound quality if you connect good headphones to it and I like to listen to music with the best possible quality. This is an archievable goal in a phone btw...dslr picture quality isnt!
If someone builds a phone with the size of the Z5C (or even smaller), 1080p resolution, aluminium body/looks like the HTC One series, happily dumps the selfy camera and top-spec hardware, but little to no changes to stock android, then I buy that phone in a heartbeat.
The complete contrast for me is Samsung now. Make it huge, put useless features on it and customize it to the max. Full throttle marketing bull**** in my mind, but people seem to love it.

yup also one of the reason i bought this phone because its small, my previous phone was 3.5" sony with walkman WT19 , so even this one abit big for me, lol..
im mostly disappointed of
1.camera lens (plastic) can scartch easly and can ruin the shots
2.photos are noisy\blurry even with good light ,
3.phone heating fast, (even low end apps or, even 4G signal; if high end apps like asphalt 8 in 2mins its 50c\120F)
4.when phone get hotter it become slower ,
5.speakers are uneven and weak , loudspeaker awful, my previous phone was 4times louder didnt need it use of bluetooth in car, now i need...
6.didnt came with quickcharge QC adapter
7.didnt came with in-ear headphones
8.update the phone to MM make it worse battery and lags,camera*, didnt upgrade it yet*
still pretty fast phone with nice battery but not worth the price (mine cost about 800 US$ when i bought it)
My only problems with the phone are:
some hick-ups during normal operations
overheating
average camera
poor system customization options
Otherwise the phone is perfect. The battery is great, I've recently lasted two days (~10% when going to sleep on the 2nd day) with automatic brightness and 24h sync with mobile data, some sms and a few calls, I even played some Hearthstone on a bus. The battery seems to have problems on certain units.

Quick question to you all: Do you think a V10 is a worthy upgrade coming from the SG Note 4?
I'm looking specifically at the camera of the V10, do you think the pic quality is a significant jump compared to the Note?
Also SD 808 vs. 805 and 4Gb RAM vs 3 Gb make it a little bit better., plus the 2nd screen. The price of the V10 is pretty attractive now...
Maybe here's someone who even own(ed) both phones and has therefore worthful experiences for me.

Really, you think (know?) the camera of the Note 4 is better than the V10's?
I thought it's one of the top-notch cameras, since it's the praised G4 cam with even better software...
About flashing, I don't care much about that any more and try to get through with stock ROMs and without Root.
I learned the hard way that it might not be worth the hassle when you lose warranty because of rooting.
(Yes, Samsung denied warranty to me bc of rooting and I got an expensive repair out of that )

the camera is good maybe better than note 4 but overall it is not the best cam in the market
From Note 4 to V10, yes is a "must update". If you talk about Note 5 and V10 i probably say NO, but since is a Note 4...of course is a excelent update!
i cant say anything about camera on Note 4 but the V10 have the most complete phone-camera you can have, a lot of features not only in Camera mode but the best is video mode.
i cant complain about my battery life now, i have some issues last week but when reflash my stock ROM and do a debloat and nothing more i can tell you: use the phone brightness at 30% most of the time, wifi 24/7 and some apps always open i am getting a full day of battery and 5h - sometimes 6h, i did 6h from yesterday until today of Screen On Time!!!
overall is a full experience phone, you wont regret the change. and for the price you can grab it today is amazing!!!!!

I've owned both, the V10 is not really any better in any one area as far as usability and performance. Personally I miss the note 4 and had I known what I do today I would have kept the note 4 and sold the V10 I got with my upgrade. The camera is a pita, it's slow, not that great has no built in editing to speak of and other than it's occasionally awesome video it's a disappointment. The second screen is not functional on my V10 and I honestly don't care as it's of no use to me anyway. I've tried very hard to like this phone and I've accomplished that much I like it. As in its better than an iPhone or my old galaxy nexus. Its alright overall, nothing amazing, some major problems here and there for people and that's my 2 cents. Honestly I trade this for a new note 4 right now. If you can wait and upgrade to the note 7 I'd likely go that route.
The main features of v10 are audio and second screen. Camera is one of the best which you can find in phones (I would say that it's comparable with S7, but v10 has full manual mode for video recording).
I bought this phone because of audio.

I must say, I like my Note 4. Problem is, that after 1 year the internal memory started to fail (MMC_read errors + freezes + reboots = now dead).
Now, with me rooting and flashing happily, Samsung denied warranty and I am there to pay for the repairs (change of mainboard).
That's why I said I'll never ever buy a flagship again (at least at the release date), so the Note 7 is definitely out of the game (for it's ridiculous price anyway).
I am, however, currently torn between the V10 and S7 edge.
For the S7 speak the performance/top harware + the praised camera, but it's still 200.- more expensive. Plus it has the inbuilt battery, and I know from experience that the power keeps degrading over the years (my Note 4 needed a new battery after 1 year).
(P.S.: My Note 4 is now already at Samsung repair for 1 1/2 months - enough time to send a few phones to China for repair and get them back earlier - lol)
I went straight from a T-Mobile Note 4 to a T-Mobile LG V10. The performance and battery life of the V10 are worse, but the V10 has a very high-quality headphone output rivaling $200 dedicated Audiophile media players, the V10 has the same camera sensor as the Note 4 but features a faster, and sharper lens, manual controls, RAW support, and overall better image quality. The LCD in the V10 is no match for the AMOLED panel on the Note 4, especially in sunlight. It's honestly all about trade offs. It's worse phone than the Note 4 but it's a better MP3 player and a better camera.
The battery life does suck but this can easily be solved with an extended battery for 30 bucks on amazon for the battery that is double the factory or 50 - 60 for a battery that is triple the factory battery.
PowerBear (double) and ZeroLemon (triple).
On this phone I actually recommend the double because the gauging of the triple under android is pretty inaccurate and when it gets low you have to turn off the phone, pull the battery and restart it to get a accurate reading.
I came from a note 3, the specs are only slightly lower from the note 4 and there has been a world of difference in response time and performance.
The camera in LG products in general is fantastic vs samsung. My note had considerable shutter lag, this issue doesnt happen with the v10.
Outside of screen quality (which is still great on the v10 just not amoled like the note series) and battery life (which is mostly due to the screen differences, amoled can actually turn off portions of the screen that are black, v10 can't) it's a upgrade from the note 4. Battery life can be improved via a extended battery pack as mentioned.
I would consider waiting though because the v20 is right around the corner. Though I am uncertain what its features its going to have other than the 820 snapdragon processor.
So for context, my first smartphone was the LG optimus g pro. And my next phone was the lg g3 followed by the OP3 2 years later. I used LG phones for 4 years before a brief oneplus 3 interlude. I now use the LG G6 as my daily driver and my op3 as my work phone/backup phone and I constantly use custom roms on there.
I decided to get the korean version of this phone largely just because I wanted the quad dac and the 64gb of storage. I am a bit of an audiophile and am willing to live without wireless charging if I got the dac. Here are some of my thoughts on the LG G6 after having used it for a few days now. I will be comparing it to the G3 and the OP3 in this post to give some perspective if any of you are familiar with those devices. I will just talk about the aspects of the device that I actually use or encounter the most. As I've realized what I care about in a phone is its utility. I don't mind a weaker processor if the phone is generally more useful or accessible for whatever reason.
Quick note about performance and the camera- benchmarks aside it runs like an SD821 phone. as you would expect very well. I am still taking test photos for the camera no opinion yet.
Ergonomics and General Use Features
-This is the first thing I want to talk about is just how this thing feels in the hand. The thing feels really comfortable it's just the right width and is somewhat usable with one hand. It does feel really premium as well. Compared to the OP3, the G6 is less wide and it feels comparably better than the OP3. Honestly I never really had complaints about how the OP3 felt in the hand but it is thinner and wider than the G6 but I actually prefer the slightly fatter and less wide profile of the g6. The OP3 can feel a bit like it's digging into your hand when you grip it.
-Related to that is the placement of the fingerprint sensor, which I have some gripes about. I much prefer fingerprint sensors on the front of phones. If I want to unlock my G6 when it is sitting on the desk, I have to lift it up or use my pin/pattern lock like a chump. Not my favorite. The fingerprint sensor is also slower than the OP3, but the G6's scanner is by no means slow. It's just not as fast.
-The other issue is the placement of the headphone jack. Why in god's name would they put that **** at the top? I mean I know that isn't as wacky as the fingerprint sensor placement on the s8 but still not great. The problem is that when I put the phone in my pocket, I have to put it camera side up in there. When I go to take the phone out of my pocket I inevitable have to be careful about not touching the camera, which is annoying. With the OP3 I would just be able to grab the thing out of my pocket really quickly. I am really trying to take good care of the camera lens because it is only gorilla glass 3 like my old G3.
The Screen and Quick Battery Notes
-I have a lot of opinions about this one. Everyone on youtube and other places gives LG so much **** for having phones with IPS LCD displays but I honestly don't know why. All those samsung fanboys go on at length about how the AMOLED is so much better despite not having seen the G6's screen in person. Compared to the OP3, which is AMOLED mind you, the G6's screen is essentially as good. I mean sure it's not as colorful as the OP3's screen, but the second I picked up the G6 it was barely noticeable. Also you have to remember with IPS LCD you get much better color accuracy, which is kind of a plus in its own way. Either way, it's really a non issue. Compared to the IPS LCD of the G3, the G6 is in a whole league of its own.
-The aspect ratio is interesting. The android ecosystem doesn't fully support it yet, but they will given samsung and LG's move to 18:9. It does make certain movies with the right aspect ratio quite enjoyable to watch on the screen. It's a very cinematic view on screen, which is nice. You guys are probably aware of the way that some of LG's apps play with the ratio a bit and they are largely successful with it.
-The always on display. GREAT. It's as good as the ambient display on the OP3 with a bit more utility. I like that it stays on and that it will flash the icon of an incoming notification. The battery drain is pretty minimal so that's nice.
-As for the screen on time and the battery life, they are good on the G6. I get 4.5 hours of screen on time with my normal use, which is more than I get on the OP3 which is usually 3.5 hours at most unless I get fancy with the custom kernels and stuff. The battery definitely lasts the whole day and the audio doesn't drain it too much.
The DAC
So the DAC. It's everything I hoped it would be and more. Honestly I get very dubious about audio enhancements and stuff like that. I had an HP laptop once that had "beats audio" on it and it was frankly terrible. With this though, when I turn the DAC on, I honestly do feel like it's contributing real quality to the sound I'm listening to. It's not just some cheap bass equalizer setting. And it speaks for itself when it successfully drives high impedance headphones without breaking a sweat. They also give you precise volume controls, which is the best feature ever. I don't know why I ever lived without it. Overall, the DAC is really great and makes the audio coming out of a pair of headphones truly incredible. Hats off to LG. They knocked the media experience out of the park. And the best part, having the DAC on doesn't even drain your battery by much, I leave it on throughout the day. The OP3 is only okay and the G3 audio is horrid compared to what you get from the G6.
Network Connectivity (WIFI and LTE)
-I have the Korean version (G600S), which is GSM only to my knowledge. I have successfully gotten LTE with my ATT and T-mobile sim cards, so it will work in the US no problem. It might say 3G at first with ATT, just let it sit, after the carrier database updates you will eventually get LTE, just be patient. With T-mobile I got LTE from the get go as soon as the sim was in. I will put a screen shot of my ATT lte screen shot below.
-The wifi connectivity is good. Better than the OP3, which has terrible wifi performance sometimes, and WAY WAY WAY better than the G3 thank god. The G3 having poor wifi connectivity was the bane of my existence for 2 years and I am so glad that is over.
Final Thoughts
LG has come a long way, and they've delivered something so good that I don't actually really care about what else is out there. The G3, while cutting edge for the time, suffered hardware issues and strange software choices that left me wanting more. The OP3 while very cool at a great price lacks the DAC and the dual cameras, which really is what sets the G6 apart.
I ran a short survey on Twitter asking people what old flagship/affordable last-gen phone would they get for a balance of true all-day battery, water-resistance, a great (not just good) camera & above average performance.
My choices were Moto G4, Xperia Z3 & something else. People chose the Z3.
Would u guys agree despite being a few years old, noisy photos when zoomed in and guaranteed no Nougat update?

I came from Nexus 6 which was $700 when it first came out (smashed its screen) and I'd say the 4g of RAM helps the Moto G4 Plus ($150 used) over the Nexus 6. Its smaller size is also more manageable and less likely to drop to smash screen. It has Nougat 7.0 now for stock and 7.1.2 for custom roms (Lineage, AOSP, and others based on Lineage and AOSP roms). The unlockable bootloader on both phones are important if custom roms, root, and TWRP recovery is your thing. I stayed away from Samsung for their always LOCKED bootloader which limits customizations.

I had a Nexus 6 but recently sold it. I have considered getting a Moto G4 but I have some reservations about doing so mainly because of hearing stories about the phone overheating with that 617 processor(known for overheating issues), and no removable battery (which probably contributes to the overheating issue). I would also prefer two front facing speakers like the Nexus 6 has but it's not a deal breaker 'cause they just don't make too many phones with dual front facing speakers.
Anyway, how do you like the Moto G4? How is the quality of the single speaker? Motorola phones usually have good speaker quality. I hope they didn't disappoint with the Moto G4 because I listen to a lot of music on my phones (usually without headphones).
Are you on the 7.0 Nougat update and if so do you notice any performance and camera improvements?
Just don't see a lot out there that grabs my attention and being as though I'm on Verizon my options are limited so I am considering the Moto G4.

I like it but it's nothing beat Nexus 6 for custom rom flashing and development. You have to be careful with Athene (Moto G4/G4 Plus) or you can hard brick it completely without any chance of recovery. Upside is at 5.5", G4's screen is less likely to crack from drops compared to Nexus 6's 6" screen. Battery life is about the same (both 3000 mAH). No wireless charging on Athene if that's important to you. Turbo charging is more reliable on Moto G4--consistently 7.5v X 1.5A while Nexus 6 Turbo charging is not as reliable (mostly 5v X 1.5A). Sound is obviously not as good for stereo music as Nexus 6, but good enough for movies in mono sound. Both (G4 Plus and Nexus 6) cost about $150 used and both great phones. Reception wise is same on Verizon. SIM is micro on MOTO G4 vs nano on Nexus 6--I made a DIY adapter out of an old credit card for my nano sim to fit my Micro SIM slot for Athene. MicroSD is nice on Athene--128gb + 64gb on Moto G4 Plus is SWEET. I can hold all my custom roms on the microSD card while the 32gb Nexus 6 had to dump roms constantly to my PC. 4gb of RAM on Moto G4 Plus vs 3gb of RAM on Nexus 6 is not much different speed wise since Nexus 6 processor is more powerful than Moto G4's but the extra ram made up for that. 2gb of RAM on the plain Moto G4 will be slower than 3g Nexus 6. Nougat is better but worse on battery than Marshmallow. Camera did not change in Nougat.

The speakers I must say are better than the Xperia Z5 and XZ I had in the past. They are front-firing so sound will be directed in your face so that not an issue. It could be louder but you can't have everything you know. The camera I would say is more natural but can be washed out or overexposed at certain conditions. But is better IMO than my old Galaxy A5 2016, an iPhone SE, Huawei P8 Lite, Wileyfox Swift and the older Moto G.
But the one thing I started to hate about the phone is the lack of compass. Using Google Maps for walking navigation (here in the UK and travelling sometimes) I cannot even calibrate G-Maps so loading up the app takes a tad slow and may sometime freezes up. I may have above average 4G signal all the time it may be an issue but it IS starting to be an issue especially due to my work. It is currently on Nougat 7.0 with the March 2017 security update. This is also another pet peeve...slowness of updates. And I have heard the phone may not even see Nougat 7.1.1. So now I have started to hunt for my next phone.

I hoping (against hope) that the new upcoming Moto G5S Plus would have the same 5.5" screen, USB Type-C with USB 3.0 speeds, Louder speakers, 3GB-4GB RAM as standard, some form of IP-rating and Nougat 7.1.1 the very least. If not I am just going to find my new phone in somewhere. I am studying on old flagships like the 6S Plus, S7 or even the Galaxy A5 2017 or Nokia 5.
