Need a CWM or TWRP recovery file for my device. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am just a junior member seeking for some help..
I am having problem in rooting my device.
Before starting, Here are the details regarding my device:
BRAND: VIVO
Model : Y22
Manufacturer: BBK
Software Version: PD1309W_EX_A_2.7.3
Kernel Version: 3.4.5
Compile time: 6/4/2015
Operating System: Funtouch OS_1.0
Android Version: 4.2.2
Mediatek Version: MT 6582
I want to root my phone because the internal memory of my phone is too low that I can't even install more than 4 apps other than the in-built apps.
Root gives me access to Link2SD & I can also try to increase the internal memory through some methods.
I tried several automated rooting software such as Iroot, Kingoroot, Framaroot etc... Everything resulted in failure.
Tried to root manually which failed to deliver the outcome which I desired for. For rooting I need to install a CWM or TWRP recovery. But I could not find a compatible custom recovery image for my device anywhere online.
I tried to flash a random recovery through fastboot to my device using proper USB and ADB drivers. But it gave me the following error:
"FastBoot recovery failed: partition 'recovery' not support flash"
I assumed the reason for that error to be the wrong recovery image.
Is there any manual method for rooting without custom recovery?
If there is one such method please kindly enlighten me regarding that.
If not, please provide me with a custom recovery image for my device so that I could flash and use it to root my device.
Hoping to get some help soon..
Thanks in advance.

MALATA N-402 Root

Hello I bought this phone MEO Smart A30 (Portuguese network) i try to root with Kingo and phone is recognized like MALATA N402. I have tryed adb tools and fastboot and almost everything with no success. And there is not a lot of information about this phone or rooting it on the net.
and fastboot is not supported by the phone.
May someone help me to unlock it's bootloader so that I can install custom roms on it?
About the phone:
Android version
4.4.2
Baseband version

Thanks,

I bought one this summer, got root and custom recover (twrp) on it.
it's a mtk6572, you'll need "sp flash tool" to flash the recovery (after reading the "scatter" from the phone to get addresses right. Sorry can't remember exactly what i've done, but thos where the tools and it's possible to get a decent recovery on it.
Thank you man.

How to install custom ROM without recovery mode - SGP321 (pollux)

Hi
Xperia Tablet Z LTE version
Android version : 5.1.1 / kernel version : 3.4.0-perf-gbccb33a / Platform : 32bits / Build number : 10.7.A.0.228
I've still have stock firmware so I don't have option to boot to recovery mode. I've installed flashtool, bootloader is unlocked, device is rooted with kingrot. I've tried to install TWRP with offical app but without success I've tried to install TWRP manually, but also without success.
C:\Users\szm>adb root
restarting adbd as root
C:\Users\szm>adb wait-for-device
C:\Users\szm>adb push C:\twrp\twrp-3.0.2-0-pollux.img /tmp/twrp.img
failed to copy 'C:\twrp\twrp-3.0.2-0-pollux.img' to '/tmp/twrp.img': Permission denied
C:\Users\szm>adb push C:\twrp\twrp-3.0.2-0-pollux.img /tmp/twrp.img

I don't know what do do next. I don't want do do something stupid and brick device. I want to install custom rom from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...pment/rom-resurrection-remix-n-6-0-0-t3748092
I'm thinking about flashing kernel with TWRP but don't know where to find correct one, old topics are with old firmware . Any advice?
EDITED:
I wasn't understanding the instructions. Firmware kernel doesn't block the TWRP. If someone has similiar problem to mine with TWRP. Just follow steps from this topic:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...de-tutorial-sony-xperia-tablet-z-lte-t3392831
Solution works with different roms and versions of TWRP. TWRP for me booted after installation so there was no need to use buttons. I'm now happy user of android 8.1 on Xperia tablet Z. Thread can be deleted or closed now.

Chinese tablet: Help with bootloop

Hello friends, I ordered a really nice looking Android tablet from AliExpress, and in the process of attempting to get to the goal or rooting it I have apparently broken it, I have searched through forum after forum for clues on how I can go about fixing it, but I have come here to ask for support from the greatest community on the internet, you all. Here are the details:
For reference, here is the link to the tablet I purchased:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10-...912.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.78df4c4dxi2Tgy
I am able to get to the "Factory Mode" screen, choosing "Version", the following info is shown:
BB Chip: MT6580
MS Board: KT107
Build Time:
2018 03 06
11:43:04 CST
Kernel Ver.:
3. 10. 72+ ([email protected]jty) (gcc version4 4.8 (GCC) #4 SMP PREEMPT Tue Mar 6 11:45:14 CST 2018
Android Ver.: 7.0
SW Ver.: KT107_L1_20160428
Custom Build Verno.: unknown
IMEI1: unknown
IMEI2: unknown
Modem Ver.: unknown
Bar code: unknown
How did I get to the point where I am now? I enabled OEM unlocking in developer options, then enabled USB debugging, then I rebooted into fastboot mode. After that I ran the command "fastboot oem unlock", I was then prompted to tell it yes or no, I said yes, and it then brought me back into fastboot mode. I rebooted it, expecting it to perform a factory reset, and ever since then it just hangs on the boot screen indefinitely. The screen is animated (the normal boot sequence) but it never gets farther. I'm able to get into "Factory Mode" as well as the screen prompting me to choose "Normal Boot", "Recovery", or "Fastboot".
I have not been able to find a working recovery (downloading the img then trying "fastboot boot xyz.img", it tries to boot but then says "unknown command" before failing). Even if I were able to load up a recovery like TWRP I don't know how exactly I'd go about trying to fix my situation.
For clarification I haven't flashed anything, I've only tried to unlock the bootloader. I then tried to relock the bootloader, same result.
Any help would be appreciated! I would hate to think I spent that money and broke my tablet without even having it for a whole week! Thanks again in advance!!

Hi there,
This will be impossible the only solution I could think of is contacting the manufacturer and asking for the stock ROM.
However all is not lost you can try and search your ROM on this website.
www.needrom.com
I'm not really sure but you can try to boot up a custom recovery using adb and then reset the whole tablet it might work
ONLY BOOT THE RECOVERY AND DONT INSTALL THE RECOVERY AS IT MIGHT NOT BE COMPATIBLE.
yet I will research more about this tablet to help you out in any way.
Resolution
Thank you for the resource for roms (NeedROM). Though I didn't find a recovery or custom ROM for my device I did try several fastboot commands, and turns out running "fastboot format cache" and "fastboot format userdata" made the device bootable. Handy info to have if ever you are in such a situation!

Updates?
I think I've just purchased the exact same device and was wondering if you made any progress whatsoever? I'm in dire need to overclock it for that extra horsepower among other things. I've scoured high and low across many forums and have had no joy in finding anyone's success story. It's killing me that I spent £60 on the thing for only 1 reason and it can't even do what I need ??
I managed to build a working twrp recovery for this device. If anyone is interested then I will post it up somewhere. Would be really nice if someone had a working open OS, lineage etc for this. If anyone gets one I would be real interested. I tried a few things Hexagon, Infinix could not get them to work even though I followed the 'guides'. Two fruitless days wasted on this and the frustration shows now. Anyway enough griping from me, point is : 1.I got twrp on this device if anyone wants + 2.would love a lineage os(or equivalent) ROM.

I did exactly the same, I tried to flash many ROMs but none works, I don't have a premium needrom account to download this https: // ww w.needrom.com/download/jty-kt107/[/url] which is the Rom that I need to try and I think which is the tablet
Could you solve somehow? Or do you have a needrom account to download this ROM and try it? I would thank you and thank the other members of the group if they could help me, I will wait for a favorable response, happy day.

[MT6592] Need help flashing recovery and custom rom on a generic Chinese tablet

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've searched around for hours and couldn't find a solution.
Tablet Specification (from AnTuTu):
Brand: T906
CPU model: MT6592
Root: Yes
Android SDK version: 19 (Android 4.4)
Kernel: 3.4.67
Back story: so I bought a generic Chinese tablet online which came with android kitkat. The app I wanted to use (simply piano) unfortunately only runs on Android Lollipop and newer, so I wanted to flash custom rom.
Problem: I managed to root the tablet using KingRoot, but failed to flash custom recovery like TWRP and my understand is that you can't flash custom rom without a custom recovery.
What I've done: I found a twrp .img file that claims to work with the exact CPU and Kernel of my device here. I then attempted to flash said twrp using the following methods:
1. Androids apps (Flashify, RashR, Official TWRP App)
2. ADB and Fastboot (when I use 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img', it says partition recovery 'recovery' not support flash)
3. Flashtool (followed the steps of this website)
Even after what seemed like a successful flash, whenever I try to boot to recovery, it just goes straight to normal startup and my lockscreen appears.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Edit: I forgot to mention about the bootloader. I tried using the dialer method to check if the bootloader is unlocked but nothing pops up, then I tried the adb method (fastboot oem device-info) but it just shows blank. Then I tried the 'fastboot getvar unlocked', and it returned 'Unlocked: ', so I'm not really sure if the bootloader is unlocked but I just continued with it.
Also interested in a ROM. These generic 10" tabs are shockingly good for <£50 with just the software letting it down.

Bundle TWRP without recovery.img

I'm on a quest to root my Hisense A9 e-ink phone. There isn't a stock ROM available online, and my attempts at extracting the recovery.img or boot.img with an EDL client or through ABD have failed. So the next thing I can think of trying is bundling a TWRP build, or possibly borrowing the TWRP from a similarly architected device and seeing if I can boot into it (without flashing).
So is there a way to build TWRP for an unsupported device, when there's no recovery.img available?
Also, is it safe to ./fastboot boot recovery.img without risk of bricking the phone (ie., booting instead of flashing)? If so, then I can try existing TWRP builds for similar devices.
Alternatively, are there any other avenues for rooting a new device which has no available stock ROM? Or other possible workarounds to get Google Services working correctly? I've tried MicroG, but the Hisense A9's ROM doesn't support signature spoofing, and to enable support I need TWRP.
Here's a thread which details some of my failed attempts at getting the boot.img via the EDL client.
And some more details about the phone:
Hisense A9 / HLTE556N
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 662
Android 11
Software version: L2037.6.03.11.00
Kernel: 4.19.157
A/B partitions
Thanks everyone!
Did you tried those experiments…..
I have same question…kinda….
As their is no twrp recovery for my device (vivo 1802 mtk device) I was thinking of booting into twrp recovery not made for my device specifically Without flashing it.
To get the job done maybe some backups or flashing using twrp. But I don’t know what will be the consequences of it…… If anyone got idea or hands on experience on it, I would like to know
